A Wonder-ful Homecoming
Date of Scene: 24 November 2018
Location: New York City
Synopsis: Cassie and Gar return to Titan's Tower and meet Amarok.
Cast of Characters: Amarok, Wonder Girl, Beast Boy

Amarok has posed:
The night is cold, the weather stormy, and the tower mostly darkened. In the living room, sitting in the cold darkness, sits Amarok, fully armed and armored, the silence broken only by the soft 'shnk, shnk, shnk' of steel on a whetstone, and only illumination being the active blank screen of the TV, set to a signalless channel.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark has been... away. When she left it was for the stated purpose to return to Paradise Island and further her training with the Amazons. And she's been true to that intention. A bit more buff, a bit more tan, and a whole lot more confident, the blonde still spent way too much time thinking through her return.

In the end, she decided to just enter through the lobby and take the elevator up. Jeans, boots, and a t-shirt will do as well, along with a backpack for her few things. Her hair is damp from the weather, booted footsteps soft. There's a sliver of light as the door opens, followed by a soft thump of the backpack being set down.

"Cable out again?" she asks, nodding towards the blank TV screen.

Beast Boy has posed:
Since Vorpal didn't tell Beast Boy to go away, he's come back to Titans Tower. Walking out of his room, which was just as cluttered as he left it, wearing a pajama set declaring the wearer a 'Monster in the Morning', was Beast Boy. He seems to stop in his tracks. "Woah, dude. You give off a whole...Norman Bates vibe, Y'know? Sittin there all: Im'a sharpen my stabbin' knife. What's wrong bro? OH HEY CASSIE!"

Amarok has posed:
The instant the elevator door opens, a knife is already flying through the air at Cassie's face and right past Beast Boy....Well, a bit over them, but it's hard to tell that in the second and a half before it may jam into one's temple. Amarok's movement in the throw is a simple fluid turn, flick, turn back, and just like that he's pulling another blade for sharpening. Nothing said, so consider this the standard greeting of the wild Amarok. How very majestical.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark doesn't so much as flinch as the knife is flung at her, snatching it out of the air almost casually. Another person might take offense at the greeting. But then again, the Amazons tested her pretty much 24/7 "Um, hello to you, too?" she offers to the crazy, armed person. Still, he doesn't look ready to throw again so she chalks it up to reflex.

Beast Boy receives a warmer greeting, and Cassie turns to hug him firmly. "Good to be back, Gar. Nice to see we're keeping with the usual dress code as well." Yeah, she's still holding the knife. "Who's the welcoming committee?"

Beast Boy has posed:
The knife gets Beast Boy to quickly change shape into a kitten, running up to Cassie, changing back and hugging her. "Dude, if there was someone in the tower out for us, there'd be an alarm!"

The green one looks up at Cassie, shrugging his shoulders. "I'm told his name is Moon Moon, I'm guessin' it's not cause of pressed hams."

Amarok has posed:
Amarok simply keeps sharpening mindlessly away, offering Beast Boy nothing more than a grunt, and offering Cassie even less. He just sits there, in the low light, slowly sharpening the knife, and setting a generally unsettling atmosphere.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark keeps one arm draped over Gar's shoulder, brows knitting and a scowl forming on her face. Disengaging from the green teen, she mutters. "Excuse me a sec." Striding over to the casually-oblivious Moon-Moon, the blonde steps right up in front of him. Close enough to be in his personal space, much less within easy stabbing distance.

"Okay, Moon-Moon, let's try this again. Hi. I'm Cassandra Sandsmark, but call me Cassie. My room is just down the hall." She pauses, then adds. "Now it's your turn."

Beast Boy has posed:
Gar just stands there, holding one arm shyly. "Are we sure he's alive? Like, he's not a robot or anything spooky?" Gar approaches slowly, almost poking at Dan, but deciding not too.

Amarok has posed:
Amarok takes a few more long precise draws across the whetstone before slowwwwly turning towards Cassie, his lifeless blue LED eyes meeting hers for several long awkward seconds before responding, "......You have good reflexes." He says in a dry monotone before going back to staring straight ahead and resuming the sharpening of his knife. Well...Cant really call Gar stupid, or rude, or anything of the sort, when his suggestions are proving more and more likely with every action, right?

Wonder Girl has posed:
He may be taller than she is, and bigger as well, but Cassie has no problem holding her ground when the big, dark figure addresses her. The blonde tilts her head, squinting a little. "He's breathing." she declares after a few moments. Superhuman senses as well as reflexes, it seems.

Turning to Gar, then, she shrugs. "Well he's in the lounge and apparently the security system thinks he's not a threat." Very deliberately, then, she puts the knife down on the table with the hilt towards him. "Keep a better hold on these in the future, Moon-Moon. That's not something you want to do again when I'm having a bad day."

Beast Boy has posed:
Taking the form of a large wolf, Gar starts to sniff around Dan. "Metal...rain...BLOOD!" He darts back behind Cassie. "Lots of Blood." The wolf looks up at Cassie. "I know he's a Titan but...this is some freaky shiz, yo."

Amarok has posed:
Amarok doesn't so much as twitch in Cassie's direction as he responds to her assurances to Beast Boy, "....It doesn't respond, because it's /MY/ security system." A hint of irritation breaks through the monotone at the word 'my'. He slowly rises up, sheathing and locking the blade in place with a single practiced motion, "....Amarok. Chief of Security......That's your one warning." He says with a slooooowwwww turn of his head from Cassie to Beast Boy. He then sloooooooowly turns his attention back to Cassie, "....Dont bother Raven right now....She's not in a good place." He then sits back down, turning his attention to the nothing on the TV.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark makes a quieting motion to Gar as Amarok explains himself more fully. Shifting her weight from one foot to the other, she folds both arms over her chest and meets his gaze. As best she can, with the dark outfit. The blonde smiles at him all the same.

"See? That wasn't so hard, now, Amarok. Thanks for the heads-up on Raven, too." Of course that only means that Cassie WILL be looking in on her. "Oh, and let me know if you want to spar sometime."

Beast Boy has posed:
"Chief of security? Isn't that..." Beast Boy responds, cut off by the quieting motion from Cassie.

The mention of Amarok has Gar perk up. "Like the Inuits? That's straight dope, dude!" He starts wagging his tail, the Inuit wolf of legend, supposedly very far out stuff.

Amarok has posed:
Amarok once more doesn't bother turning to look at Cassie when he addresses her, "I only spar with people on my level. Prove you are, and maybe I'll consider it." Beast boy however DOES warrant a slight turning of the head! ".......Yes. Like the Inuits...." He monotones out, simply stares his unblinking LEDs at him for a few seconds before turning back. Cant'cha just feel the overflowing love for all his teammates?

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie's hand flies almost immediately, although not exactly in a punch. It's a slap, aimed at his face... near as she can tell... using most of her speed. But the force is significantly held back. If he IS the Head of Security, then there's no sense in knocking him out of the building.

Beast Boy has posed:
Gar changes back to his normal self. "I know some stuff on cryptozoolo-Woah!" Gar makes sure to put distance between himself and the other two. Fighting bad guys was one thing, but this was teammates.

Amarok has posed:
Amarok seems to have been expecting this, ducking under the slap and catching her arm as it slows to soften the impact, using the leverage to flip her over him to the other side of the room. For someone who can fly, this is likely little more than a minor annoyance on the level of walking around a stubborn cat, but it does thwart the attempted assault rather nicely, and provide Amarok the opportunity to stand and snatch the knife from the table, reflexively taking a defensive stance. This sort of this is apparently normal everyday stuff for him. You can thank your local Frenchy for that.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark catches herself mid-air and mid-flip, hovering just a foot or so off of the floor in a ready stance as well. She relaxes immediately, smirking and giving him a slow nod. The girl settles to the floor. "I'll sleep well tonight knowing you're here, Amarok."

Stepping over to her backpack, then, she hefts it onto one shoulder. "Pick the time, the place, and the weapons. I look forward to it."

Beast Boy has posed:
Once Gar breathes deeply, he starts going back to his room. "Well, I'm gonna go before I'm left in the room with the alive robot guy that secretly wants to kill us all maybe kinda sorta. But it was nice meeting you again Moon-Moon!" He comments, slinking, Perhaps a bit hurriedly back to his room.

Amarok has posed:
Amarok's stance relaxes a bit and he works his neck out as he straightens up, "....Like I said. Prove your on my level." And then tosses the knife to her. Not the threatening the thrown blade of when she entered, but a casual passing of a small tool, just one happening to be long and sharp enough to behead someone with if used properly. He then turns and starts towards the elevator, chucking another large knife after Beast Boy into his room just over his head as he passes. Aw, Beast Boy made a new friend.....I think.
