Combat Training 101
Date of Scene: 26 November 2018
Location: New York City
Synopsis: Cassie meets Kar'ras and does some combat training while Amarok watches.
Cast of Characters: Kar'ras, Wonder Girl, Amarok

Kar'ras has posed:
Kar'ras was flying around the danger room, weaving around energy blasts from automated gun systems, trying to out fly them. When one threatens to get close he moves a hand to 'catch' the energy bolt and seems to absorb it with the jewels embedded in his palms. He lands on the floor and looks at the guns once he was done and punches one, destroying it.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie sees that the Danger Room is in use, but she steps inside anyway. The blonde Amazon is wearing yoga pants, her armored breastplate and cross-trainers, along with bracers and her lasso. Long hair is pulled back into a ponytail. She watches Kar fly around, and when he looks like he's at a good place for a break she calls out. "Mind if I join in?"

Kar'ras has posed:
Kar'ras turns when spoken too and nods to the woman. "Sure if you want. I am Kar'ras of Tamaran." He says as he brings a fist to his chest and bows his head to the woman. "You must be one of the other titans. I was recruited the other night since I been living here for a while. I think Amarok supported me because he got tired of my freeloading, he says."

Wonder Girl has posed:
She nods, watching the orange-skinned man as she unhooks the lasso. "I'm Cassie." she replies. "Cassandra Sandsmark, if we're using full names. I've been away and training on Themyscira with the Amazons." Cassie smirks, then. "Amarok? Yeah. We've, um, met."

Kar'ras has posed:
"Amazons? Oh the warrior women which Wonder Woman hails. I am from outer space. I am a runaway slave hiding from my masters. I came to this world because it isnt known in the universe yet. I been trying to adapt but human ways are weird. Amarok is weird too, always wearing his armor." He says calmly.

Wonder Girl has posed:
"He's certainly wrapped pretty tight, yeah." Cassie glances down at her breastplate, perhaps a bit self-consciously now. She nods. "For the record, I DO take mine off when I'm not fighting. And I dress normally. For a human." Cassie regards him curiously, then. "You're a runaway slave? If you've been welcomed, then you're under our protection."

Kar'ras has posed:
"I have had numerous cybernetic devices implanted throughout my body, to absorb energy sources and use my solar battery to augment my strength, durability or fire energy bolts. My masters are probably tracking me through the technology but I cant remove it without being killed." Kar'ras says as he smiles at her. "It looks like good armor. Do these amazons train men? I was designed to kill things but I want to try and be what humans call, a good guy." He says softly.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie chuckles and slowly shakes her head. "Actually all Amazons, with a few exceptions, completely avoid the world of men. Princess Diana and I are among the exceptions." Her expression becomes understanding, then. "We don't kill people unless there are absolutely no other options. It's our job as heroes to *preserve* human life, even if it means risking our own."

Kar'ras has posed:
" Koriand'r explained that to me. That this is our new home and we protect those we call friends. The closest thing I had to a friend was a computer program. She got deleted after setting me free the first time." Kar'ras says sadly before smiling again. "She is helping me make new friends with the humans. I only tore up a bank robbers car once. I was told by someone that it is a bad thing to do."

Amarok has posed:
The danger room door slides up, announcing to the room a new arrival. Amarok strides inside in his customary casual wear, full armor, covered in knives, and with a huge gun on one hip and a big ass sawed-off on the opposite leg. He stops a few feet in and slowly turns his head to focus in full on Cassie and Kar'ras in turn before looking straight through the space between them, "....If you're not going to train, dont hoard the room...." Charming as always, iddn't he?

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie shrugs a little at that. "Well we -do- try to keep down the collateral damage whenever we can, of course. The Titans don'w have unlimited funding, after all. And now that you're here, you should try to meet some NEW friends." She pauses, then turns as the armored form of Amarok enters. "Feel free to join right in. Kor, mind if I run a workout program of my own?"

Kar'ras has posed:
"I do not mind. This is the first time I used this training room. I always felt uncomfortable relying on others for my training and wellbeing but My queen, Koriand'r, said that the titans help out those like me. So I want to pay it back." He says as he moves to the controls. "What kind of thing is a workout program?"

Amarok has posed:
Amarok stays silent as the grave when Cassie addresses him, simply walking to and leaning back against the wall by the door, pausing a few seconds before motioning for continouence.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie flashes Kor a grin. "Computer. Run combat workout: Wondergirl 1, two-player mode. Execute." Taking the lasso at her hip, she prepares it while hovering slowly up from the floor. To Kor, then, she offers. "Okay. The objective is to disable without killing."

The landscape of the room shifts, becoming an urban setting in a bad part of a nameless city. One by one, shady-looking characters begin to appear in the simulation. There are a LOT of them. They attack.

Kar'ras has posed:
Kar'ras nods as he watches the people begin showing up. He gently punches one and sends them flying into another. He tries to disable them without killing and as such is holding his strength back. "Like this?"

Amarok has posed:
Amarok remains stock still against his newly materialized wall, simply watching the pair as they go about their training with the same laser focus he seems to give everything.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie hovers, lashing out with the lasso as the thugs advance. Catching one by the ankle, she whips him around to plow through another group. A flip of the wrist frees the golden loop which she whirls, looking for another target. "Right! That's the idea." she calls.

Kar'ras has posed:
Kar'ras begins to punch some more people and looks to Amarok. "Arent you going to join in the pummeling?" He asks as he punches one towards the man.

Amarok has posed:
Amarok reacts to the oncoming body by sidestepping it, pushing it from underneath to hit the wall with it's back, adding a rough punch deeeep into the stomach, and then grabbing it by the leg to harshly slam into the ground back first, leaving it in a crumpled heap as he leans back against the wall, "....One plus one, is two...Two plus one is three....Three is not two....So continue on as two...." He says in his standard monotone, as calm as could be even after the sudden violencing.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie takes full advantage of her flight ability. And her speed. The blonde moves rapidly around the group to create a perimeter, the lasso flashing out again and again. After a little while she loops the lasso and hooks it to her belt again.

Feet planted on the ground, she takes up a ready stance as the thugs continue their advance. There doesn't seem to be any end to them, at least not in the immediate future. She punches one in the solar plexus, knocking him back several feet as she continues on to the next. Her style is simple and efficient, making use of fists and elbows and feet. It's a style intended for extended use on a battlefield.

Kar'ras has posed:
Kar'ras fights with a similar fighting style to Cassie. The only difference is he developed his as he grew up, and sometimes implements stun beams which would stun a person which he then punches or kicks, using only a fraction of his full strength to keep from killing the humans. As they come he grins and begins to fight harder and faster, not seeming to care that they overwhelm him.

Amarok has posed:
Amarok resumes his silent vigil of the pair, occasionally shaking his head slightly in apparent disapproval, but not actually speaking or attempting involve himself in anyway. After a few minutes, he pushes away from the wall and hits the door release, the door rematerializing in the wall and opening to allow his exit without disrupting the session.

Wonder Girl has posed:
The thugs keep coming in wave after wave, and as they close in on Cassie she only fights faster. Unconscious bodies are thrown back, keeping a small clear area around her. The training session goes on for quite some time, and it's long past the time a normal human would've collapsed in exhaustion before she stops the simulation. "Computer, pause program." The figures stop, and Cassie looks over to her training partner with bright, blue eyes.

    "Ready for Level Two, Kar'ras?"
