A Speedy Meeting
Date of Scene: 29 November 2018
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Arc, Flash

Arc has posed:
The run was long and exhausting. It wouldn't be so bad if she was in any sort of running shape. She's still very much... well looks pretty darn starved. She comes to a stop and looks around. "Okay... Where... Is the Pizza Buffet?!" She asks to herself. She doubles over and then... kerflops.

As she does her best to recoup she looks up and winces. "Is it still day time?" She's messed up.

Flash has posed:
Sometimes the worst part is watching something happen that you are more than fast enough to prevent, but sometimes it's better to not just, say, grab somebody. Better to watch the 'kerflop' happen. Still, it garners a wince from the Flash.

Yes, he saw her. He wasn't in costume at the time, but switching out AND returning with a gist of direction to race in to catch her was within realm of feat. Sure, he hurried. Well, his version of hurry, anyway.

"In some parts of the globe," Flash replies to her question, from roughly to her right. He's one of those people that appears out of nowhere. She might have seen him arrive due to her own speed abilities, except for the kerflopping. He arrived during the middle of that, prior he was just tailing off and on, in his way.

"Hi," he adds, tone friendly, bright, but not aggressive. He doesn't want to scare her. He's leaned over a little since she's on the ground, hands on his knees, brows up. Then offers a hand out to help her up. "You made it. It's just over there."

Arc has posed:
Rikki blinks and nods, "Oh umm. Thank you. Yeah I think its time I actually visited that place." She smiles, "Thank you um, Flash... wait. FLASH?! I am really exhausted." She stands up and its clear she's a little dizzy. "I'm sorry. Its just been a while." She carefully makes her way to the restaurant and looks heads in, "Would you like to join me?" She asks with a kind tone.

The food however is calling her and she is terribly hungry at the moment. Quickly she enters and pays for her own and Flash's if he joined her. Quickly she gets herself some food and finds a quiet table in the corner so they can actually talk. "So umm. You're the Flash! That is so cool! I'm kinda... well shocked!"

Flash has posed:
"Hey hey, no need -- we're separate checks," Flash clarifies, not letting her feed him. He'll order. Because of course he will, there's food offered, but he JUST met her in the street, and she looks skinny. Taking her food or money is a nope.

"If that's your code name, it isn't bad, but maybe 'the Shocker'," he suggests to her, similarly kind in tone, and smiling. People, though, stare towards the 'quiet table' in the corner. Because Flash is there. "You sort of collapsed, though. Hope you don't mind me checking by on that."

Arc has posed:
Rikki shakes her head as she quickly gets her pizza on. "No no. Sorry." She has to laugh a little. "Arc. All the cool speedy names were taken and I just couldn't stomach being called blur or streak." She shudders over that one. "At least thats what I will be called when I actually start using my abilities. I had a little training but then... Some other stuff hit." She looks down at the plate in front of her which is rapidly emptying.

"Its alright. I needed the help. I didn't think just how much the trip would take out of me. I had to settle my parents affairs sadly."

Flash has posed:
Flash is not eating rapidly. He's eating like a normal person, in a semi-deliberate way, relaxed. He's observing her, though, and which speeds she's hitting, but not in a way that is staring.

"The Streak is probably not a direction to go in, unless you're not one with clothes that can resist the upper tiers of motion. Then, well, you might earn it even if you didn't mean to," he says, picking up some napkins from the far side of the table and setting them near her. There's no show of speed here: he doesn't see a need to, really, at this point.

"I... oh. Okay. I hope they're settled," Flash says, a little awkwardly to the share. But people do that with heroes, it's not that unusual. "Maybe carry a pizza back with you?" he suggests.

Arc has posed:
Rikki smiles, "I umm, actually am selling my home. I'm going all in with a new team forming. Its really exciting. I was told I am going to be put through the ringer as far as training goes. Thats exciting to me." She does slow down on her eating. She seems to take a more normal approach now which is good for her.

"I actually have a small problem that I know you could help out with. How do you get over a fear of lightning?" She shudders.

Flash has posed:
That's a lot to take in, but Flash is good with a lot of stuff coming at him. "A new team? Who's leading that? Is it under one of the major groups?" Flash asks, curious, but not extremely surprised. "Other than mine. I'd probably know about that. Maybe. Batman's a secret squirrel," Flash confides with a slight lean-in over his own pizza. Which /is/ disappearing.

"A fear of lightning? Which part of it scares you?"

Arc has posed:
"I wish I had all the answers. Strange guy appeared in my home town earlier, asked me if I wanted a chance to take my desire to help people to the next level. Offered a chance to train with them and stuff. So, I'm actually excited to see. If things seem dangerous, I'm going to get out of it. They also gave me a few grand which... My stomach said would be good to at least go hear things out." She smirks and raises a slice of pizza and noms on it.

"Well umm, You see, when I got my powers it was not pretty. It was my 16th birthday. There was this crazy storm. A powerline got knocked down and it landed on my family's SUV. They jumped out, Told me to jump to them. Lightning struck just as I landed. Killed my parents instantly, I was in a coma for a week or so. Apparently I had severe burns and everything."

Flash has posed:
"Strange guys appearing and offering to train you for a team may or may not be on the up-and-up," Flash warns her carefully, dismayed. She seems trusting. VERY trusting, by the amount of things he was just trusted with. "Look... I can't stay long, but. If something IS really wrong, you get out of there, and contact the League on it. I don't want to see powered teens caught up in something. There's some weird people, with ideas for personal armies," Flash says. There's a little blur as he fetches something. Just a quick burst to grab a card, and pass it across the table to her. It's 'just' a Justice League card, but it does have a smiley face on it from Flash's handwriting.

"As for the fear? I'm impressed you're speeding around at all. But I know the rush of it. So I won't tell you to take it easy. But I WILL warn you that pushing too hard could get you trapped 'between'. There are feats you can focus on that aren't all lightning, though. And you can do other things that /are/ lots of lightning if, or when, you're ready."

Arc has posed:
The young girl quickly accepts the card. "Thank you Flash. I am not going to jump blindly into this. I will listen to them. Worst case scenerio, I will run out of there as fast as I can. I don't want to wind up a part of some persons private army or worse. I want to help people."

She nods slowly, "Wait... Is that what I feel? When I am running, sometimes it feels like something is pulling on me... Its like its calling me to go faster." She sighs and shakes her head. "I am curious about some of these different feats you're talking about. Maybe you can teach me sometime?" She asks with a hopeful note.

Flash has posed:
"Check in with me /regardless/ about the team in say, a week, and I'll show you one. Deal?" Flash suggests, with a pause to chew his food, and then offers her a really quick little handshake across the table. Nothing impossible for her to track, but intentionally fast.

"That way I can also be sure they didn't steal you and cut you into bits for science," Flash says, with an arch of brows. He's being a little silly, but it's also not really out of the question.

Arc has posed:
Rikki gives a little laugh, "Ummm Yeah. Usually people don't pay you 2 grand when they are going to make mince meat out of you later. Still I will call you in a week. I will let you know everything. I do know I need to get myself some shelter. Can't just run around all night." She laughs.

Autumn quickly shakes hands with him, showing her own speed. "I was in school for a bit and they were helping me to learn some."

Flash has posed:
"No, probably not," Flash relents, smiling. He doesn't elect to be a downer longer. "If I really thought that they were after you, we'd be talking differently," he smiles. He nods towards her school comment. "I might know what you mean, but let's keep that hush-hush," he suggests. He finished his food at some point, and reclines, also finishing up his drink. And then the time. "And... I'm late. Figures. You'd think I could be on time; all the speed in the world doesn't help getting distracted," he sighs, but smiles, and slides out of the booth. "Good luck with your new team, 'Arc'."

Arc has posed:
Rikki smiles and nods, "Yeah I don't talk about the school often. I just sorta say I went to school." She laughs a little as she gets ready to get more pizza. Because MOAR! She laughs a little and nods, "Speed doesn't mean crazy stuff can't happen." She laughs. "Good luck and thank you very much, Flash! I will do my best to stay safe."
