Souvenir has posed:
Sunnydale, in the afternoon. The sun hangs high, still, shining down on an ordinary two story suburban house. Inside, Erika Kristasdottir is led up the stairs to the bedroom by her father, whose nervousness is obvious. "Look, I tried waking her up all yesterday, but she just.. wouldn't wake up! Then it got late, and you know about night, so I called you first thing. I couldn't think of anything else to do! I don't want the police poking around the house, and nobody else knew anything."

Erika Kristasdottir bites her lip a bit. "Yeah, dad. I get it. Thanks for calling. I'll see what I can find, mmkay? So like.. I need you to take my phone and film me. I forget stuff when I'm reading things, so I need it to tickle my memory so I can tell people." She opens the door and walks in, looking at her mother worriedly.

After a few seconds, she considers, pulling the bottom of the sheets up and pulling one of her mother's socks off, knowing she wears them to bed to keep her feet warm. "Hmmm. Just in case, I probably shouldn't start with anything -live-..."

She bites her lip, a bit out of her element with the unfamiliar situation, before suddenly cramming the sock down her shirt, head jerking with a gasp as her eyes flutter.

Contact.

Doctor Strange has posed:
The sock is grasped, and Erika would instantly be given the recall of her mother's memories, memories that seem entirely normal, mundane and basically human. The woman did nothing out of the ordinary before she went to sleep. As Erika would try and focus more, trying to reach more and more recent memories there would be a faint impossibly short dream begin and then instantly shut off.

Erika may or may not have seen dreams in the memories of people she has accessed before, but it was there, this time, albiet briefly.

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir sits quietly for a few seconds. "Okay. There was a dream.. and it stopped suddenly. Then it's blank." She frowns, then pulls the sock out. "Okay, that's kind of a dead end."

She considers the bed for a few seconds, then goes to sit on the other side of the bed, considering the pillow. After a few seconds, she looks at her dad and the cameraphone and says, "Okay, dad? I'm going in. If I go quiet, give me, I dunno, like.. five minutes? Then pull me off the bed. 'Kay?"

With that, she carefully removes one of her gloves, and rests her hand on her mother's pillow, giving a ragged gasp and twitch as she connects in.

Doctor Strange has posed:
Erika's mind would be bombarded with the emotions, the fears and the suffocating horror of - nothing. Erika's mother is not experiencing anything. There's no pain, no joy, no suffering.
    Nothing.
It's almost as if her mother's body was a husk with no soul or anything left.

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir gasps and whimpers a bit. "There's... nothing.. there..." She tilts slightly, face slowly going blank as she searches for.. something. "I.. don't..."

Then she's quiet. Searching...

Slowly, she falls over, hand falling off the pillow. She gasps suddenly, jerking up and hastily pulling her glove back on. "That.. was.. weird. I don't know what to do, dad.. but maybe I can find someone who will. I'm going to make some calls, see if I can get her a bed so she'll be okay while we figure out what to do now, okay?"

Doctor Strange has posed:
There wasn't death, Erika's mother is still very much alive, but she's trapped in her sleep. The memories were not harmed, just missing.

Souvenir has posed:
Erika Kristasdottir inhales, closes her eyes, exhales. Takes notes before they fade to the video. "Everything is absence. Void. Mind contains no data. Body is still running. Not like sleep. No personality markers. No 'her' in her. There's.. Nothing nothing. UGH! It's fading. Okay, you can turn the video off now, I have everything I'm going to be able to get for now." She frowns. "I wish I had more, dad. I'll see if I can find someone else that can look into this, okay?" She rises and pulls her father into a hug. "I've got to get back before it gets dark. I'll talk to you soon, okay?"
