Synopsis: Cassie and Kaldur talk in the Danger Room
Cast of Characters: Wonder Girl, Aqualad

Wonder Girl has posed:
Up on the 6th floor of Titan's Tower is the Danger Room; a place where the team can pit their skills against holographic opponents. Cassie Sandsmark is practicing in the room right now, with the difficulty level set fairly high. Wondergirl is clad in yoga pants and a sports bra, barefoot and armed with only her bracers and golden lasso.

The blonde teen is pitted against wave after wave of zombie soldiers, in a scene straight out of any one of a dozen apocalyptic movie settings. The lasso whirls, fists and feet lashing out to keep a clear area around her.

Aqualad has posed:
Kaldur enters into the danger room and watches Cassie from afar, but doesn't directly interfere just yet. Instead, he watches and waits, looking at Cassie's form and battle stance.

Well trained.

Then, the Atlantean hybrid smiles and draws his waterbearers in the shape of swords, cutting down a zombie that was directly behind her! "Hello Cassie."

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark isn't fighting rationally. It's not like her style is slipping, but it's more that she takes bigger and bigger risks. The lasso lashes out again and again, lightning crackling along its length. Ozone grows thick in the air, as does the smell of burning, dead flesh.

Hearing the voice behind her, the girl starts and hovers about fifteen feet off of the ground. She calls out loudly. "Simulation Pause!"

Descending lightly, she coils up her lasso and replies. "How're you doing, Kaldur?"

Aqualad has posed:
Kaldur strikes down a few more beasts before the simulation ends, putting his waterbearers back in their holsters as he looks to Cassie.

"I'm doing good. how are you? I have been meaning to ask you something, but saw you in training."

He smiles then. "You're fighting style has significantly increased. well done." he nods approvingly.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark's face is still clouded, her angry expression slowly settling as she hovers back down again. "Thanks. I think it's because I'm unhappy with Moon-Moon. He's so... judgemental. And condescending." Her expression clouds again, lightning crackling along its length before she takes a big, deep breath.

She exhales slowly, relaxing more and more by the moment.

Tucking blonde hair behind her right ear, she actually smiles. "So what's on your mind, Kal?"

Aqualad has posed:
Kaldur'ahm smiles to Cassie, nodding a little bit. "I have not met him yet, but from what I hear, he is not very friendly." he sighs. "I pray his attitude improves."

Aqualad looks upon Cassie at her question and he sighs lightly. "Oh,so um... I was wondering...and you know, we don't have to..but I was wondering if you wanted to go out to eat sometime? like a date?"

Now he waits for the inevitable denial. the retreat in her expression. Kaldur has always liked Cassie, but he was never brave to tell her.

now it was the moment of truth.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark shrugs on the subject of Moon-Moon. "It'll either improve or I'll mop the floor with him. Arrogant little..." The blonde is caught mid-way through that thought when something else Kal says rattles around inside her head.

She stops short, turning to look directly at Kal. And she smiles.

"You mean like a date-date?" Blue eyes are bright, and the lasso isn't crackling with lightning anymore. A good sign.

Aqualad has posed:
Aqualad laughs, despite his usually cool and calm demeanor. He found it funny, as he doesn't quite laugh much. It's a quick thing, a smile to her as he blushes and they stand near each other. "Well, I think Amarak will do what he should. He didn't get put on the team for no reason." then the question of the date.

"Y-yes...like a date-date." his hand moves to try and touch hers, some of his atlantean tattoos visible as his blue eyes find hers. Good sign that she isn't trying to destroy him with a lightning lasso.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark shrugs at the side line on Amarok, her attention more clearly on other matters now. Her focus is on his eyes, those blue eyes that contrast so much with his darker skin tone. When he reaches for her hand she doesn't pull back, and fingers curl a bit with his own.

When SHE blushes it's very, very apparent. Living with the Amazons did a lot for Cassie's tan, but she's still a whole lot lighter in skin tone than Kal. "Then yes." she replies, voice becoming softer.

Aqualad has posed:
Cassie had Kaldur'ahm's full attention, looking her directly in those perfect eyes that he fell so hard for long ago, and when he felt the warmth of her hand curl around his own? It was like that smile truly touched his features. Letting his fingers tangle with Cassie's, he moves just a little bit closer, leaving little distance between them.

"I'm glad." His voice soft and affectionate, never looking away for even a moment. To him? It was as if all else faded to black.

"Where would you like to go? We could go out for dinner?"

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark's nostrils flare when he steps up close, her fingers tightening in response to his own. Cheeks are still darker and her lashes lower as their personal space closes. "It... I wasn't expecting anyone to ask." She pauses for a moment, adding. "Me out, I mean."

Chuckling softly, her own discomfort passes after a few moments. "Think we could go somewhere other than a pizza place? Much as I like pizza, it's sort of become a staple around here. And I'm pretty sure that's not natural."

Aqualad has posed:
Kaldur sees her flare her nostril,s uncertain if it was due to an uncomfortability due to the space or because she felt nervous and charmed. He was never quite good at reading body language when it came to females. Bud he does feel her hand tighten around his own. He chuckles at her words. "Well...it keeps things interesting, doesn't it?"

A small show of humor.

"Of course. I am not too much of an admirer when it comes to pizza, I was thinking more like...steaks. A steakhouse? or perhaps a buffet? Or we can walk along the beach."

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark's grin broadens, gaze lowering as the blush remains. "Interesting." It's only one date, Cassie! Yeah, it really is. "Yeah, it really does. Not that it's, like, anyone else's business, of course. I mean I don't mind if they know, but you know how they all can get."

"Steak house and then a walk along the beach? I really do like the sound of that. The beaches are probably one of my most favorite things about Themyscira."

Aqualad has posed:
Kaldur smiles to her warmly, holding her hands as their fingers played together. An Amazon and an Atlantean. What a pair. But, Kaldur seems to be utterly attentive to Cassie, nodding softly to her. "Steak house and a walk along the beach it is. Perhaps...tonight, or some other time this week?" he asks curiously, wanting to have a gauge for her time this week.

Though, his eyes fall to her lips, and he becomes very tempted. But he refrains.

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark's focus is on him as well, or at least upon the attention he's giving her. Fingers lace together and she raises up onto tiptoes, balancing lightly. "Well you're the one who's doing the asking." she replies teasingly. "Why don't *you* decide, so that I can clear my calendar?"

Yep, it's all about Cassie still.

And if she notices his gaze lowering to her lips, she's either too oblivious to notice or too caught up in the moment to react to it.

Aqualad has posed:
All about Cassie. Well, when she top toes up to make herself more level with Kaldur, who tries to wrap an arm around her waist to help her keep her balance. "How about tonight then? I have no plans."

Though his eyes fall back to her lips, and temptation overcomes him. This was the woman who long had his heart, after all. He starts to lean his head forward. was he going to try to kiss her?! and even more pressing: how would she react?!

Wonder Girl has posed:
Cassie Sandsmark can fly, so balance really isn't a problem for her. Not that she tries to pull away, either. Free hand falling to his shoulder, her gaze meets his own as proximity removes all other distractions. He leans in.

Her lips part.

Lashes lower.

Breathing quickens.

Her hand squeezes his shoulder, then, and Cassie slips a bit to one side. Just a moment *before* it's too late.

"I should really get a shower." she offers softly. "If we're going to go out tonight, that is."

And just like that, she's disengaged herself and takes a step towards the door. Looking back over her shoulder, either to check his reaction or to make sure he's looking, she calls out. "Looking forward to it, Kal!"
