Date of Scene: 06 December 2018
Location: Xavier's School - Rec Room
Synopsis: Illyana come to find a teacher to talk about the events at StockGen. They stir up painful memories for Andrea.
Cast of Characters: Mason Steele, Rage, Magik, Forge

Mason Steele has posed:
School is out for the afternoon, Mason, counter to his usual escape to the music room, has decided to relax in the rec room. Of course, there are a few others milling about, but as it happens, he got the TV first. He clicks through the channels, looking for something that might be interesting to watch. Given that he usually doesn't watch TV, but prefers to play with instruments, he doesn't really know what he is looking for, so he lays in a sweater and jeans, taking up the entire couch as one thing after another passes by on the screen.

Rage has posed:
Having been looking for Mason in the music room, Andrea heads to the rec room to spy him. With a grin, she slides over on top of his lap, straddling him on the couch as she reaches down to poke at his chest. "Hey." She says as she gives him a wide grin. "Okay, I will do the duet with you. I'll do Last Christmas. But, I have a condition." She says as she taps along his chest with her fingers. "So you need to tell your manager."

Magik has posed:
There is a flash of light nearby as a circular disc appears. As it rises, it reveals a person standing there. Boots, jeans, up to a heavy sweater in a cream color. Up to above her head revealing Illyana, her blonde hair straight and falling to mid back. Then the disc simply disappears, leaving her behind.

She blinks in surprise when she sees the pair on the couch, having not expected to find that sort of position in the rec room. But things have changed since her days as a student. "Pardon the interruption. I'm looking for one of the teachers." No alarms are going off at least.

Mason Steele has posed:
Mason's eyes go a little wide. "You know," he comments to Andrea, at her leap onto him. "This is how tabloids make their money, right here." He jumps a little as Illyana's flash of light announces her arrival. "What? Teachers? What do you need them for?" he asks. "We weren't doin' anything, she's just bein' Andrea." He stops the clicking on the remote, and it's on a Red Lobster commercial.

Rage has posed:
"What the hell is that supposed to mean? I'm just being Andrea?" The popstar says as she pokes down at him again, then rolls her eyes. "That's Illyana, one of the X-Men. She goes by the name of Magick. She's Professor Rasputin's brother." She glances over to the blonde. "Um.. I don't know where any is at right now. We're just on break until classes start up again. Everything okay?" She asks as her tone grows more serious, straightening up. She's in New Mutant mode now.

Magik has posed:
At Mason's quick admission of innocence, Illyana's lips twist up into a smirk. "Snitches get stitches." Well, worse where she came from. That's another tale. "I need to talk to them about the incident at StockGen yesterday. There is something strange going on there."

Mason Steele has posed:
"StockGen?" Mason asks. "That...sounds familiar," he confesses. He knows that name should mean something to him, but he doesn't remember why. He sits up, scooting Andrea off his lap and next to him for a more appropriate positioning. "What happened there?"

Rage has posed:
"Stockgen." Andrea's voice growls out loudly. "Those were the guys who were trying to steal my blood for 'mutant research'. Their CEO tried to blackmail me, and then got a few of my friends involved. Miss Grey supposedly took care of him for me and I haven't heard anything since. I was hoping that was a name I'd never hear again." She says as she sits next to Mason, rubbing her arm.

Magik has posed:
"Oh really? Stealing mutant blood?" Illyana asks, eyes narrowing. There is a hint of something wrong there. Something 'other'. It might make the hair at the nape of the neck stand on end. Then it is gone as she continues speaking, as though it never happened.

"THey were doing a press conference. Two things came out of it. They have found a cure for everything from cancer to Down's Syndrome, allegedly. They said it was like magic, some sort of elixir. Which made me wonder...has anyone seen Josh lately? Or heard from him at least? I know he left the school but wasn't sure what happened after that."

Mason Steele has posed:
"Well, um..." Mason glances at Andrea. "I thought he got mad at somebody at the school, like a teacher. I dunno, though. You think they kidnapped him?" He rubs an arm. "Oh man, like, I thought that was all done. "You think they really cured cancer with him?"

Rage has posed:
Giving a shake of her head, Andrea says, "There was a tape of me killing a Reaver at Starbucks when they attacked me. Their CEO got ahold of it and black mailed me. Said he would give it to everyone in the media if I didn't comply. Tyler.. a friend and classmate of mine.." She trails off. "He told me he went over there and 'handled it', that he beat this guy up and took the tapes back. He showed them to me and we destroyed them." She rocks some on her feet back and forth, her mind spinning. Suddenly, she grows very, /very/ still. "... Mason.."

She turns to him. ".. Remember the day you shot me in the head with the rock, by accident, which I forgave you for. Do you remember that day?" She takes in a deep breath. "Remember how there was so much blood and people were freaking out? Do you remember who cleaned it up? Who volunteered to do it?" Pushing off the couch, she says, "No, no.. I'm just... the two aren't even related. It couldn't be. It wasn't like ... they didn't have like mutant werewolves running around right?" She laughs, one of those nervous laughs. "No, Josh is okay. I talk to him still. We text all the time."

Mason Steele has posed:
Mason knits his brow. I don't know," he admits. "I was a little preoccupied at the moment. I think it was still out there when I left. Um, who was there? Tyler, Josh, um, Ms. Monroe, the nurse? Maybe that Julian guy, I'm not sure? I don't remember who else. Seemed like the whole school was there at the moment."

Magik has posed:
There is a narrowing of those glacier blue eyes again. "Funny you mention it. The second part of what I needed to report involved at least one mutant werewolf, a hyena and a snake from what I saw in the news reports. I left just after their transformation and was...delayed from returning to the fight." Politics in Limbo were cutthroat. Literally. She had to deal with that before she could teleport back and by then, it was done. Unless she skipped through time and honestly, it was better to avoid that at all costs. It never seemed to end well. "The three men shifted form and attacked the people there. I understand from the news that heroes did manage to contain them. But it seems StockGen is willing to hire mutants and pay them for using their powers to benefit the company. I felt that was too good to be true. Additionally, the timing of the attack was a bit too...perfect. I don't trust coincidence."

Rage has posed:
"It was Tyler who cleaned up the blood." Andrea says as she clenches her fist up tightly. "I never gave them my blood, and I never lost so much blood in my life before. And then Tyler did kind of disappear afterwards. He told me one time he'd do anything to protect me." Andrea stares at the floor for a moment, then jerks her head up as Illyana brings up the werewolf. Her back teeth grinds for a few seconds, then chokes out a sob as she covers her mouth and nose for a moment, then starts out of the room, aiming for a bathroom.

Mason Steele has posed:
"Wait, they attacked the conference? You think they had friends or something that StockGen kidnapped? Or...stole blood, or...whatever evil scientists do?" He grabs his phone, tugging it out of his pocket, and connects to the TV. "Search for news about StockGen," he says into it. The News results come up, mostly with the announcements and the incident from the day before.

Forge has posed:
Forge nearly runs into Andrea as she moves to head for the bathroom, moving to one side a little bit, surprised. He didn't expect a student, as he came in the doorway. He's not a usual sight around here, the large man, though he isn't exactly someone to immediately notice, either. He's dressed casually and is carrying something akin to a bucket full of tools, and a handheld device not unlike a tricorder in visual in gloved right hand. "Excuse me," he says to Andrea, looking at her clearly upset face with concern before casting a look into the rest of the room, as if to see what caused the sob.

Magik has posed:
As Andrea runs off, Illyana glances to Mason. "Could be. Or they were on the payroll so they could get more press by staging the attack. There's no way to tell for sure. Unless..."

Which is when she pauses and looks to Forge, giving him a tight smile. "Are you looking for one of the teachers too? I was hoping to brief one about the situation from yesterday with Stockgen."

Mason Steele has posed:
Mason watches as Andrea jumps up, and runs to the bathroom. He looks mildly uncomfortable. "She...was really close to Tyler," he says. "He got kinda weird, then one day, just, he just didn't come back." He shrugs. "We don't know what happened to him. I mean, the guy, you don't think he killed him, do ya?" Mason asks.

Forge has posed:
What did he walk into? Forge raises his dark brows a little bit at the conversation but doesn't directly intrude, at least at first. He shakes his head to Illyana, "No, just installing something," he clarifies to her. A pause. "But I can relate information to a teacher, if necessary," he states, in a reserved manner. He proceeds to the entertainment center itself, and without disturbing Mason's use of it, pulls it out from the wall a little, looking behind, and setting his bucket down. "StockGen was involved?" Forge doesn't probably sound like just a repairman, his tone has a frown in it.

Magik has posed:
"I happened to be there for their press conference yesterday," Illyana offers with a sort of apologetic shrug, as though she knows it was an odd place for her to be. "They made two major annoucements. One, they have a cure for everything that ails mankind, from cancer to probably the common cold. They said it works like magic and referred to it as an elixir. Which worried me since we used to have a student with healing abilities that used that codename." She motions toward the bathroom where Andrea had disappeared. "She assures me he is fine so it is something else. Their second announcement is they want to hire mutants, for higher pay than their humans, to use their mutant abilities for the company. The press conference was also attacked by three mutants with shapeshifting abilities. When I shared this information...well, Andrea has already encountered them and her response is to that news."

Mason Steele has posed:
Mason brings up on the screen the Channel 3 report on their website. "Okay," he says to Forge. "I guess we are agreeing that StockGen is bad." He starts the video, where April O'Neil denounces the event. "Look," he says, "This reporter says they were mutants fighting for mutant rights. Maybe he kidnapped their friends or something," he speculates." He stops and considers the scenario. "If mutants started getting paid by companies for what they can do," he says, carefully looking back at where Andrea had run from. "Isn't that a good thing?"

Forge has posed:
"Depends. Are you paying for specialty skills, or are you separating your workforce in an identifiable way?" Forge questions thoughtfully of Mason's question. For all current appearances, Forge looks human: but most of them do. "It is also an interesting way to learn a lot of information about someone: a job application has most of your private details, and you might also be showing your ability to them. And that is regardless of if they 'select' you. I'd be skeptical, to put it mildly." Forge has since accessed a panel behind the television, and a few pods in the ceiling of the rec-room have rotated and come down, to allow access. It looks like he's just doing maintenance on the high tech.

Forge does watch the video, though. "What did the attackers go after?"

Magik has posed:
"I wasn't there long enough to find out. I teleported out but was delayed and didn't get to return," Illyana offers apologetically as she watches the television display. "It looks like the crowd in general, no one specific."

She flicks her gaze over to Forge. "I was suspicious as well when I heard they wanted to hire mutants. It seems too...perfect. I feel they are up to something more than simply helping mutantkind. Especially after Andrea mentioned that someone at StockGen had tried to have her blood samples taken from her. It seems they may have found another one to obtain them though, after she had an accident. They may have had a double agent in the school."

Mason Steele has posed:
Mason's countenance darkens a little. "I think that's what Andrea is upset about. There was an accident, and she lost a lot of blood. Tyler cleaned it up. He had been acting kinda weird. More...I dunno, more like he'd be willing to do things wrong to get good results. That sound weird? I don't remember the word, ends justify the means stuff." We know he's not a straight A student. "He went at one point to go beat up that Saki guy I know. Says he did it. Never saw any of that in the news or anything."

Forge has posed:
"Blood Samples," Forge echoes, as if that had a deep resonance with something he found truly a problem, but he is mulling it over. Still frowning, he pulls wires out of the ceiling opening and changes something out, popping it back closed with the heel of an oblong high-tech tool afterwards. "I'd like to hear the full story from her, if she's willing." But not unwilling and with crying. "How long has Tyler been missing? Is this recent?" Forge hasn't been around, so there's a lot to catch up on, it seems.

Mason Steele has posed:
"A few months ago, before the semester started," Mason says. "I was only kinda aware of what was going on. He crushed on Andrea pretty hard. Wanted to be the hero and save her, I remember that. Dunno what happened after that." He shrugs, watching Forge work on whatever it was that he is rewiring.

Rage has posed:
Heading back into the rec room is Andrea, who has red eyes and staring at her phone. It seems she has some clips of the attack paused on the screen. She slinks down next to Mason, giving a sniff, then leans in against his shoulder. ".. He has my fur." Is all she says.

Forge has posed:
Forge moves to the other ceiling pods, in a manner of only giving the tech mild attention: he's listening to the student and Illyana. He finishes with the ceiling objects, and returns to the television (or more appropriately, the panel behind the television), to squat and fish in there. There WAS a minor sound of motor movement from his cybernetic leg during the squat. There isn't a large amount of effort to mask it, just jeans. "That's an interesting switch. To go from hero to the other. Could he have gone to attempt to infiltrate the other side?" Forge asks. He didn't change his question even if Andrea's there. Forge doesn't sugar coat. He sighs, though. "Hard to know. Sometimes good people make bad choices." He moves his gaze to Illyana.

Mason Steele has posed:
Mason reaches out, putting his arm around Andrea. He doesn't say anything, not sure what he should say. He glances up at Illyana and Forge independently, then offers a squeeze around Andrea's shoulder.

Magik has posed:
"We don't know that they have your DNA," Illyana tells Andrea even as she catches that look from Forge. She arches a brow but says nothing in regards to poor choices. "This is all speculation at this point. There are plenty of shapeshifting mutants. We had Rahne in my class who could take wolf forms so it isn't that unusual. Without proof, we can't assume that it was your blood they used for a source. It's all questions right now." She tilts her head to the side and that other-ness is back as a dark smile touches her lips. "Until we go get our answers from StockGen."

Rage has posed:
"I know it's mine." Andrea says as she points at the screen. "It's my fur. Look how he shifts." She says as she draws her finger along the screen to make it move in slow motion. "You can hear the bones cracking, just ilke mine. But his fur. It's my color fur. It's /mine/." She says with another sniff under her breath. "He was willing to do anything to get my blood. Anything. He was willing to expose me to the world. I knew Tyler was acting weird.. ever since he came back from there. Then the sneaking out at night. He told me he was superheroing but ... but he was just.. he was so different.. and then one day he just didn't come back." She rubs her hands along her face, then takes in a deep breath. "Sorry, sorry.. I'm just.. usually I don't freak out. I'm just scared now."

Forge has posed:
Forge observes them, and crosses, leaving his bucket and project where it was. "Can I have a look?" he asks, indicating her phone. He won't push into her business or the rest of it without invitation. But perhaps a side aim is to get her to stop staring at it for a minute, as well.

Magik has posed:
"We need all the information you have about StockGen and the people that attacked you. This man who was behind it," Illyana says, turning the focus to business instead of horror. Hopefully. "You said they attacked you trying to get DNA right?"

Rage has posed:
"No, I was attacked at a Starbucks by The Reavers and the Purifiers. I went feral and killed a few of them. This guy named .. Saki.. something.. he is the CEO there. He got ahold of the tapes and tried to blackmail me with them. He asked me to come to his office, showed me the tapes and told me to give him the blood and it won't go public. I said I'd think about it. I told Miss Grey and she went down there and handled it she said. Then, behind our backs, Tyler went after the man and said he beat him up. He came back with the tapes and showed me. Miss Grey got so mad at him for that. From there, I didn't hear a single thing. Weeks went by.. nothing.." Andrea passes the phone to Forge. "I don't know much about them, honestly. Just know the CEO is an old Asian guy. Japanese? Also.. I went home one day and they left presents on my bed. They broke into my million dollar eighteenth floor high rise that you need a key card to get in and left stuff on my bed."

Forge has posed:
Accepting the phone, Forge backs up the video to the start to review it, staying quiet during the explanations. There's a LOT of information here, and a lot missing, from the summary. "Has there been some formal inquiry about this? Other than Miss Grey?" Forge asks. Best to start with who else may be on her case.

Magik has posed:
"So we need to speak to Jean, find out what happened in that incident. Then we need to see if we can find this Tyler." Illyana looks to Forge again, giving a little jerk of the head indicating they might want to chat a bit more privately from everyone else. "Have a little chat with him. And perhaps we still need to have a little recon visit to StockGen. I wouldn't be adverse to that little adventure."

Forge has posed:
Forge hands the phone back over to Andrea and packs up his tech gear. He caught Illyana's suggestion loud and clear, even if there's little to no reaction from the man. "It should be discussed," Forge agrees firmly, in a way that informs in no uncertain terms that it will be. "Excuse me," he says, and starts out of the room, after a nod to Illyana.

Rage has posed:
Giving a shake of her head, Andrea says, "No. Miss Grey assured it was resolved and that was the end of that. I haven't heard a word since. Far as I know, she took care of everything on behalf of me as a student." Andrea says as she glances between the pair of them for a moment, then leans back into the couch.

Magik has posed:
"I'll get back with you when I have more of a plan," Illyana promises as she turns to follow Forge out of the room. Seems she isn't intending to shut out the New Mutants if she has her way. After all, when she was one they went on all sorts of adventures. With and without the approval of the teachers.
