Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Arc, Lucky Day

Arc has posed:
This past week Rikki AKA Arc has been practicing as much as she could. After all, joining a new team means they need her at her best. This of course has been taxing on her and that means she's gone through all of her food. What do? Go to the store! Now of course there was one closer to her home but, Why would she go there when she could hit one with better deals?!

This lead her to Metropolis. There are of course perks to being a speedster. No need to catch a cab. Especially when she could get from New york to Metropolis in less time than a non-stop train trip. Quietly she walks in to the grocery store and grabs herself a cart. Hey she didn't nuke her outfit this time either!

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom is moving up and down window shopping. Christmas shopping is hard for Tom, not only because he always has exactly the same amount of money, but he has to get awful presents for people or they will be cursed. However, he tries to get an awful that shows he cares which works for the few people he actually shops for, then sends the list to a fixer who trades favors and indirectly arranges for the thing to be given. That doesn't mean he doesnt enjoy it and even considers nice gifts for people who really deserve what's coming to them. At the moment he has an eye on a fruit cake as Rikki's cart hits him as she moves forward. Was it Tom who moved wrong or the cart that was moved? Tom doesn't even sweat it and ignores the minor pain. He lives like this daily and just doesn't let it bother him. "Sorry about that," he's relatively certain its his fault. He considers being a slight jerk but as long as she isn't too nice to him it should be fine.

Arc has posed:
Rikki is well on her way. She's already got a lot of food in her cart. Is she shopping for a family of 4? It certainly looks it. She doesn't even notice when she runs into Tom. Quietly she pulls the cart back, "Sorry about that. I just sorta was distracted..." She blushes. "Sorry."

Quietly the young speedster just sorta looks around the aisles. "Hey Fruit Cake!" She grabs not one. Not two. But thee of the things. "Hey they are a good source of energy!" She comments as she slips them into a random sparse place in her cart. "Hmmm What else would be good... I wonder if I can find a Big Belly Burger recipe mock up. They do have good burgers."

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom says, "Trust me, its not your fault as much as you think it is," he feels bad that the teen thinks it is her fault but cant apologize too much since people do better not knowing too much about his condition. "It's christmas, plenty of things to be distracted about. And Fruit cake, I give that a lot. Very useful and decorative." And people hated it, thus giving them a dash of christmas luck. "Some of them are regifted for years. Big Belly Burger? Yes, there is one only a block away actually."

Arc has posed:
Rikki nods, "I know, I'm probably going to go there after I'm done shopping." She laughs, "That is kinda sad. I prefer to just kinda you know, eat it." She laughs. She doesn't say that one of those things will last her maybe a day at most. She simply smiles. "I like to cook. Its one of those things that my mom taught me and I really don't wanna forget..." She doesn't go into anymore than that.

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom says, "well, I do agree with you. I have...complications...in giving gift so I try to make it personal. It's more an art than science. I think regifting except maybe those white elephant parties where you just find something hilarious and weird is...well tacky. And good for you," and is about to make some comment about hearts and stomaches when he catches the subtext of her statement. "I lost my own. Memories are important. They define us, so carrying on traditions is good. That's the best part of the holidays." Granted, technically his parents died hating him but that wasn't their fault, it was the changed timeline and he had pleasant memories of who they had BEEN."

Arc has posed:
Rikki just sorta frowns and looks down for a few moments. "It was over a year ago now but it feels like yesterday. I still feel like its my fault." She sighs and shakes it off. "But yah I don't exactly have a whole lot of family so I don't really have any gifts to exchange." She shrugs, "Not like I could afford it anyway. I don't have a family but the last gift I got sorta causes a much bigger appetite." She shrugs and just smiles. She looks around, "Oh thats a good deal there!" She quickly snaps up a big thing of rice.

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom considers a moment, and he can help Rikki out, even if the way isn't rather nice. But she deserves it. The thing is, he can't crush her after wearing her heart on her sleeve so a bit of off the wall villany works just fine. "What kind of a gift causes a larger appetite?" He has a double suspicion and works with it. "You know I have certain gifts myself, if you are gifted, it makes us better than other people dont you think? I am sorry you don't have many to give, but power draws to power so I'm sure you're better off with most normal people anyway." Subtle...but if he is right....

Arc has posed:
The young woman pauses a moment. She slowly shakes her head, "Yeah? Well, our gifts don't make us better than those without. They add a responsibility to them. Especially with so many messed up people out there." She smiles a little, letting her heroic side show a bit. "I just do my by best and my gift causes me to burn more calories in a day than an olympic athlete."

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom frowns, "I'm sorry you feel that way." And there it is, playing up his sudden dislike for Rikki and out of the blue a man smiles at Rikki. "Excuse me miss, you're our one MILLIONTH shopper and you just won a 500 dollar shopping spree. Congratulations!" Tom frowned. Bad things happening to people he didn't like was bad. And stuff.

Tom rolled his eyes, "Well now you can eat all you like.

Arc has posed:
Rikki smiles bright. She wasn't expecting that Of course, she wasn't expecting to draw attention! She gives a smile to the man, "Thank you so much! Thats going to be a huge help. Especially during the holiday season." She takes a deep breath and then when the attention wains a little she looks at Tom...

"Did you??" She whispers to him. Her own suspicions seem to pique as he did say he was gifted. "Thanks... If you did something."

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom says, "What? No, I would never help someone who doesnt appreciate whatever hunger inducing gifts she is given." Her thanking him has confused the curse which causes a lot of cans in a large pile near her to quiver. Tom, of course, consantly on the eye for this is well aware of what his curse does but steps it up a notch "I am a luck mage, but that was just luck. Weird things happen around me a lot."

Arc has posed:
She listens and nods, "Oh! That is kinda cool. The last one I met like you was kinda spending time in Pergatory." She blushes. And then it happens. The cans go falling. Before one even touches the ground though... Time seems to stop... at least for Rikki. She quickly catches the cans and re-stacks them in a much more stable fashion.

What would be seen While Rikki does her restack is actually a streak of violet lightning and the sound of rushing air. It only lasts for a total of a second or two before she's right back at her cart, working on her shopping list. "I know how that is... Weird things are pretty common for me too."

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom says, "That was...." he blinks and looks at the cans. "Telekinsis?" He scratches his head, "I remember being to purgatory, though I havent actually been there. Unpleasant place. Wouldnt wish it on anyone...except the unworthy. If you are a weirdness magnet that is actually worse, it would make the day you only had the talking maroset on the planet find you turn into the only talking marmoset deciding it had to kill you because of the timeline your alternate universe self stopped from happening before you were even born..." he smiles. The light above her fizzes a bit."

Arc has posed:
Rikki shakes her head. "Not exactly." She smiles, "Imagine a lightning bolt striking, knocking your family into a car with a downed powerline on in it while frying you. Then waking up a few weeks later to find out your family is gone but you have recovered in a miraculous fashion." She winces. "Sounds kinda rough. I healed far faster than any normal person should. Everything since then has been insane." She glances up. "Guessing this is a side effect?"

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom sighs. He could do full on villain but the more she knows, the better. "People who like me are cursed. The nicer you are to me, the more bad things will happen to you. You're almost too nice. But you unfortunately have my sympathy regarding your parents. No one should have to deal with that. The universe is often cruel.

Arc has posed:
Rikki winces, "Let me guess. Things will just get worse and worse the more I'm around you because I am nice to you?" She frowns. "Well I..."

BZZZZ!!! KABOOM!!! The light explodes and out go the power for half the store.

The young speedster is already on it. "Oh crud, Never done this before! As long as I keep going I should be okay..." She rushes up the wall with the replacement light and right onto the ceiling. She can feel gravity trying to take hold but she holds fast. The lights flicker back on as she tries to run back down. Then it happens. She trips over another light fixture and down she goes. A few moments later she is back, rubbing her arm.

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom says, "It does actually get worse yes. If you actually consider me a friend its always there, like a psychic ball and chain manifesting at the worst moment. Many heroes have bad luck, you never know when its me or just the universe being mean. It's why most people need to know i'm awful. And, lets be honest, I do some actually evil things. If you're using your gifts to help people so much the better.""

Arc has posed:
Rikki smiles then just stops, "Umm. Well... If it means anything, I think with time you will get control of it. Until then... I think I will go. I can't keep outrunning disaster. I'm pretty my arm was nearly broke from that last one." With that she starts stepping away. Denying her every instinct, she tries her best to not view him as a friend.

Lucky Day has posed:
Tom says, "I am in control of it. It's not what you think. But it was terrible meeting you," there is a bizarre inflection in his voice as he smiles warmly, "And I hope terribly things happen to you. Have a terrible holiday and I hope your burger is awful." He winks and then smile frowns."

Arc has posed:
Rikki blinks, "Oh..." She looks at him,"You know what! Same to you buddy! Hope your holidays suck and may your new year be absolutely horrible!" Her tone is sorta convincing. Still its hard to say of such things. Quietly she steps away toward the register. 500 dollars? Yeah she spent that and then some. It will get her through the next two weeks or so.
