Cast of Characters: Alexander Valentine, Storm

Alexander Valentine has posed:
Alex Valentine hasn't had the chance the last few days to just get out and enjoy his "new hometown". Thankfully the tabloids haven't started following him yet. New York paparazzi have bigger fish to fry then an ex Disney Pop star one must suppose... which is why his agent sent him here. So this evening, with little better to do, he's going for a walk in the park. Enjoying a hotdog that may, at one point have been a genuine animal, and taking in the sights and smells of the city.

Storm has posed:
Ororo Munroe is an imposing figure, even without her armour. Today she's making her way through Central park. She towers over most women, and her silvery white locks are tossed by the breeze of winter's chill. She pulls her black leather jacket a little tighter around her, and hastens her step toward a favorite book shop, her intended destination. She isn't likely to recognize a young pop star, even if half the female population of the school has his posters on their walls. She has troubling things on her mind, and she's a little too old for Disney...

Alexander Valentine has posed:
Alex Valentine is heading for the book store as well, having spotted it and thinking that he knows someone who has seen, but never read the "Lord of the Rings," and that a nice collection would make a great Christmas gift. So humming something upbeat, though not one of his own songs, he looks both ways and waits for the light to turn.

Storm has posed:
Not far from the bookstore, Ororo and some...supposed Disney pop star (couldn't prove it by her...) are converging on similar paths. It is at the moment when Ororo stops to watch traffic clear an intersection, when the world suddenly takes a turn.

With a loud pop, suddenly, a creature. No...specifically, this one is of mechanical nature. A flash of silver and purple causes two cars to swerve in opposite directions to avoid both the robot, and hitting one another head-on. One knocks over a fire hydrant. The other plows into a group of carolers on the opposite corner, trapping two beneath the SUV. But the mechanical creation is on a mission. Almost as if by instinct, it turns, facing first Ororo, then The Popstar. Without any warning, it lifts its arms, the armor plates sliding open to reveal guns, one pointed at each of its two targets.

Alexander Valentine has posed:
Alex Valentine has never had a gun pointed at him before.. Certainly not by a... whatever the heck that thing is. He runs for a bit of cover behind a taxi that was abandoned in the chaos. He glances back to see what the thing is doing, only to realize it has a secondary target. "LADY! GET OUT OF THERE!" he shouts... loud enough to vibrate the glass in the windows...

Storm has posed:
The silver-haired woman takes a moment to note who is moving, and who is not. She notes, too, the vibration in the air caused by the young man's voice. With an instinctive and knowing glance at the young man, Ororo speaks calmly with authority. "Stay down." She turns back to the robot as the wind whips up around her, catching her silver waves in drafty upward spirals. Her eyes haze over, smoky white, as the wind whips around the robot. She rises abruptly into the air as a cyclonic force descends upon the robot itself.

In clinic her head to the young man, she asks in the same voice, "Can you help anyone? I will try to hold its attention."

Alexander Valentine has posed:
Alex Valentine has never done this for real before... He kinda sorta practiced it a few times, but only out in the desert where there wasn't anyone around to distract him, or see him...or shoot him... Still he closes his eyes and the area...well the area seems to become muffled, asthough sounds were being reduced... except for one point directly in front of Alex's outstreached hands... and there the sound is amplified into an almost concussive force directly at the robot thing. Yeah, we'll go with robot thing. At the distance it wouldn't do much other then perhaps knock it off balance, as sound is a wave and does not like to be focused. After that however he yells "Everyone, get away! Haven't you ever seen a killer robot movie?!" His voice loud and carring over the paniced din like a loud speaker announcement.

Storm has posed:
Ororo tilts her head as the sound blast amplifies the sound of the cyclonic winds around the robot thing to hit it with a one-two punch. As the wind tears at the armored shields, ripping them from the machine. But when the sound concussion ravages it, sparks fly from beneath those shields, as bare wires are blasted loose. The machine falters and shudders, then malfunctions, as it begins to spray bullets around at random.

Alexander Valentine has posed:
"Get down! Everyone get down!" Alex cries out, knowing his publicist is going to ream him a new one if video of this get out on YouTube, but he has to do something. The bullets are flying everywhere, many of then striking the taxi he himself is hiding behind. Then another sound dampening followed by a concussive blast is shot at the robot... not well aimed of course since he's kinda throwing it blind... but he's fireing at where the bullets are coming from..

Storm has posed:
As it happens, the Popstar has some help. Probably a little more than he expected. Probably a lot more than he expected. As the sound dampens again, Ororo is watching from above, doing her best to steer projectiles wide of anyone nearby. Popstar included. And when the sound dampens, Ororo sees (or hears)her chance. With a blinding flash of light, the earth shudders with a lightning strike on the robot thing. The resulting blast of sound is beyond anything she's heard from a mutant in a very, very long time. The robot fairly shatters, falling to electrified and smoking pieces in the intersection.

Ororo doesn't take time to admire their handiwork, though, but instead lifts a hand toward the SUV trapping carolers (no longer caroling) beneath it. A gust of gale force wind rocks the SUV up gently, beginning to lift it off the two citizens.

Alexander Valentine has posed:
Alex Valentine sees the SUV raising and looks up..up...up..at Storm then runs over to the Carolers. Once he is sure it isn't going to rock back down on them he kneels beside then and tries to check their vitals... careful not to move them because..well neck injuries maybe? But making sure everone is still breatheing... He does have the presence of mind to tighten the hood of his hoodie down more to obscure his face some. People with camera phones are everywhere snapping pictures and video...

Storm has posed:
Four ambulances come screaming onto the scene, as the abandoned SUV is rolled off and away to safety. Paramedics exit the vehicles to swoop in and take over for the Popstar. Ororo, however, is watching him from where she landed just down the sidewalk. "I think you should come with me," she says quietly, addressing him with a knowing nod toward the distracted paramedics. "I can give you a lift, if you come now."

Alexander Valentine has posed:
Alex Valentine nods, a little numbly. He's never been involved in anything like that and it shows on his face. Sabertooth could have likely asked him to come at that point and Alex might very well have gone. Still he glances back over his shoulder as he moves out of the crowd with Ororo. "Think they'll be alright?" he asks, concern obvious in his voice..

Storm has posed:
"They're in better hands now than ours," Storm says softly, but reassuringly. "Steady..." Swiftly and steadily, she lifts one hand as the young man approaches her, and the wind currents catch them up, enfolding them in a bubble and lifting them quickly skyward...moving them in the direction of Westchester.

Alexander Valentine has posed:
Alex Valentine doesn't panic, which is at least something... He tries to relax and breathe normally... Still he's never been flying before...at least without the benifit of an airplane... so that isn't easy either. "Can you please tell me that there is a nice scientifically explainable reason we aren't street pizza right now?" he asks in a voice that is remarkably squeek free...at least to his own ears..

Storm has posed:
"I believe it has something to do with the quantum mechanics of sound and the power of wind and lightning,"Ororo replies matter-of-factly as she steals a glance at the young man she carries on the wind. They are a few hundred feet off the ground, and the bubble protects them from wind sheer as they speed quickly over the the landscape. With a hint of a smile playing across her full lips, she continues. "Tell me about those powers..."

Alexander Valentine has posed:
Alex Valentine for a moment looks like he's going to play dumb... like many mutants "in the closet" do at first, but then he remembers the whole 'could become street pizza' thing and says "I can manipulate sound.. allot of ways... something to do with compressing or streaching or otherwise alterting sonic waves.." then he offers a weak smile and in a voice that is /identical/ to Ororo's own says "It lets me do pretty good impressions as well."

Storm has posed:
Ororo arches her brows at the impersonation. Then furrows them. "No one likes to hear their own disembodied voice. You know that, right?" But the faintest smile plays on her lips. "And you play well with others. Always a good trait. There is a place that would be good for you," she says. "A school. I am Ororo. And I am among the faculty there."

Alexander Valentine has posed:
"Sorry, guess I'm just used to it. Been hearing my own voice played back at me for years." he says with a shrugs. When she mentions the school he tilts his head slightly, "The one Andrea mentioned?" he asks curiously.

Storm has posed:
Stealing a quick glance at the young man, Ororo nods faintly, her hint of a playful smile gone as quickly as it came. "You know Andrea, then." She turns her gaze bacto to face forward as the two descend to the roof of Xavier's mansion. "One in the same, it would seem."
