Getting To Know You Getting To Know All About You...
Date of Scene: 12 December 2018
Location: New Asgard
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Thor, Hela

Thor has posed:
The hour is late and the sky is heavy with clouds that seem like they could bring forth a storm at a moment's notice. Kvalvika lies restful, as at this hour much of Asgard has retired and left to recover for yet another hard day of effort and work. Things are coming along well, the castle becomes more and more a testament to the renewal of the Asgardian spirit as it rises higher to overlook the range before it.
There are lights on in the settlement, assuredly. A handful to line the stone streets and a few of the homes where others might be having a hard time sleeping. But upon the mount that sees across the bay and the ravines, there is a single light lit that helps another who has not been to sleep yet.
Thor Odinson carries upon his shoulders two large sections of hewn stone, having marched up from the quarry with the large sections held tight as he strains and scowls while moving. It's with a heavy /thud/ that he drops them one after another onto a pile, trying to cushion the sound as he does so... and managing for the most part.
Despite the chill in the air he's wearing a loose belted tunic and the breeks of his people, along with heavy work boots. He pauses, straightening up with those last stones set down and takes a moment to wipe his brow before he trudges across the distance to where a wineskin rests. He'll lift it, undo the spout and take a few swallows before wiping his mouth with the same forearm.

Hela has posed:
As Thor makes his way from the quarry with the heavy stone, he'll find Hela standing in waiting, as if she knew he was heading that way, which of course she did. She's in the very same regal armor of black and green he had seen her wearing before, the dark green cape billowing behind her. "A King who partakes in the heavy work...? Are you sure you're Odin's son?" Hela somehow manages to sound both series, and yet at the same time, still have a clear mocking understone to her words. One would think she had spent many years perfecting that teasing without teasing type of tone. "If it's any comfort, I do appreciate your drive to see Asgard rise from its unforgiveable ruin..."

Thor has posed:
A snort is given to her in answer as he sets that wineskin down at first though his hand still rests around it. "Know that is what I contemplate each night I rest my head upon my pillow. Do I have my sister's appreciation?" His own tone has that hint of joviality as well, but perhaps it is a testament to his blood of Odin as well and their relation in that he manages to make that sound like its own dose of mockery.
But, at the least, Thor's half-smirk is sincere. "What brings you here, Hela?" It's then that wineskin is sent her way with an underhanded toss. He folds his arms over his chest as he sits down upon a white stone fence that is almost complete. "More you need to ask? Tales of what has passed since you have been about the mortal lands?"

Hela has posed:
"Do you now...?" Hela asks with genuine interest, motioning for the wineskin, figures she would show up without doing any of the work and would still seek a share of the wine. "See...you don't quite know me, which is why you can make light of it. Then again, I don't quite know you...that isn't right for siblings now, is it...?" Hela muses, looking around at everything mostly in the process of being constructed, she asks, "is there any place on Midgard where decent people can share a drink and conversation like civillized Asgardian?" Needless to say, Midgard and Asgard have very different definitions for just what civillized means.

She grabs the wineskin when it's tossed her way and drinks her fill, before tossing it back at Thor, "you wound me...I just recently find I have a brother, and I should take interest in anything else? Please...I'm not a monster. I never had siblings, and now I do, naturally, I wish to know about you."

Thor has posed:
"That is true, Hela." Thor says as he sets the wineskin aside, leaning forwards now upon the half-built barrier. His fingers interlace as he rests his elbows upon his knees, looking across the way at her. "I do not know you. I have, mostly, only your word to go on. Which suffices for some aspects if not all."
He lets his gaze slip to the side for a moment, gaze distancing in that one eye of his before he turns his focus back upon the woman who is his sister. "Heilig is the proprietor of the Broken Antler, our first business. It is where much of us gather when we can." He lifts a hand and waves it to the side, "Likely he would open for us if we showed up, but I would not wish to put him and his family out so."
But then he asks her directly, "But you are correct, we should catch up on what we can. Such as... well Lady Frigga was my mother. I would be saddened to know if she bore you as well and told us not at all."

Hela has posed:
"I'll have you know I am true to my word, Valhalla has already been reformed, and the Valkyrior I've spoken to so far accepted my dominion. They are already after retrieving the worthy who were lost to the void when Valhalla was destroyed along with Asgard," Hela reports in a by the by manner, if only to show she doesn't linger when she sets her mind on something.

"The Broken Antler...? I don't appreciate that," Hela states sharply, and with a gesture, her dark antlery crown forms on her head, as she turns to look at her brother. "As Heilig knows nothing of me, I would consider it not an intentional slight..." in other words, being the only purveyor of proper Asgardian mead in a proper Asgardian setting means Hela will spare his life for the slight she very much perceived. Intentional or not. "He may well open for us, are we not royalty?" Hela seems to have been brought up quite differently from Thor, considering her royal status as reason enough to lord over commoners, as opposed to Thor who actully takes into account how his people might feel, and what needs they may have.

When he asks directly of her mother, Hela loses the smile on her face, particularly when he mentions how Lady Frigga spoke not a single word of her, "that is Odin's doing..." she hisses out the words with disdain, "he promised to do so, and so he did..."

Thor has posed:
A slight smirk lights at the corner of Thor's mouth as he watches her take that slight and just presses on as he replies about Heilig. "At this point, Hela, there is little separating us from our people. Drawing distinctions for now, while we are still building, would likely do more harm than good." Or perhaps Thor is just some crazy populist.
But then he brings up her mother and Thor frowns to see her reaction. He unlaces his hands, flaring them as if to stay her as he murmurs. "Hela. This is a new era. A new chance at life where there are no expectations, no need for ire or ill will. You bring only what you carry with you into this time and this place. So I ask you then, tell me your story. After I shall perhaps be able to tell you more of what has passed for me. And from there, then perhaps our tales will weave together."

Hela has posed:
Hela looks skeptically at her brother, "that so...?" She muses, "the Valkyrie took no issue kneeling before me," she notes, before giving in with a drowned groan, "ffffine. We let Heilig have his rest." She looks around, and than asks, "if not a mead hall, where should we have our discussion? I will not speak out in the open when undeserving ears might listen..."

The suggestion that there's only what they bring with them, and no need for ire or ill will, Hela glowers at her brother, apparently not quite of the same mind, "it is easier to make such a statement when you're not the one wronged. When you're not the one robbed of their legacy..."

Thor has posed:
"I understand, but I am making the attempt, Hela." He looks across the way then uncurls his hand somewhat. "And there is a chance now to make this what you wish. There are no enemies left. None who seek you ill."
"Bide..." He stands up and frowns as if sensing something distantly. He rests a hand upon Mjolnir at his side, its power making it make that subtle whom sound for an instant before he shakes his head.
Back to Hela he frowns, "Do you sense that?"

Hela has posed:
"Right," Hela notes dryly as she looks at Thor, pondering his angle, it's an awkward position to be there with a brother one doesn't know. By all things right, they should be family, should be there for one another. But their upbringing, such as it was, makes it a most unusual feat. "Perhaps," she concedes that much.

She does smile somewhat sinisterly if not disturbingly at Thor, eyes set on Mjolnir, "I pity those who come with ill intent, let us show a proper Asgardian greeting."
