Cast of Characters: Domino, Lex Luthor

Domino has posed:
Domino stands in the night in New Troy's buisness district just standing in the rain as firetrucks speed past her towards the Merchant District. The first she set to burn the warehouse down did its job well, and she knows it will be far too late before they get there to stop it. She is just wearing her standard combat gear with a jacket over it to cover the guns, and other things she currently had on her just incase she needed them. After she looks at the flames one last time she turns to walk away from it all. The cops, and the firetrucks loud in the background she walks towards a more isolated part of the city.

She doesn't know why she came this way as she just walked away not really heading towards anywhere, but there she is alone. With a glance around as if she was looking for something she just stops, and waits as if she knows something is coming. She doesn't actually know something is coming, but sometimes she just let luck carry her, and it brought her here so it made her a bit paranoid. Though she didn't see anyone she did remind herself.. "Your not paranoid if people are out to get you" with a small laugh.

Lex Luthor has posed:
Something is coming, and it isn't Santa Claus.

Up on a nearby building an armored and masked man sets up a LexTech Marksman Rifle. Silenced and using NATO rounds, it was as generic as one can get. The Team Luthor sniper was already in position, having heard about this job beforehand. Luthor had approved the contract mainly to have a place and time to find Domino where the ambush will take place.

As the sniper stays in place and aims down the scope, a modulator quietly distorts his voice as he speaks, "In position and ready. Awaiting orders."

Back in LexCorp Tower, a holographic representation of a three block radius around Domino is being projected by numerous drones. It's almost a real time showing of events, with Domino in the center. Luthor himself sits behind his desk as he watches, fingers steepled, "Take your shot."

A silenced NATO round triggers in the chamber, aimed squarely at Dominos foot.

Domino has posed:
The shot is lined up exactly right the person Lex hired is really a pro in every regard. Though as the trigger is pulled no sound comes which as Lex would know his silencer isn't *That* good. Domino mean while yawns a bit and actually leans back on the wall pulling out a large knife she shaves the extra off her long somewhat sharp nails. She wondered what was going on, why was she brought here, and why she couldn't leave? Of course she could leave there was nothing blocking her, but her gut said to stay right where she was. Domino listened to her gut as her power made sure of that, so she sighed a little bit, and looked up into the sky to let the rain wash down on her.

From the outside it was a perfect target, she was moving around a little bit, but now he was just standing there not even looking. Even skilled assassins usually stick to the shadows, but Domino stood out in the open with what seemed like little care. It was almost as if she was asking to be shot.

Lex Luthor has posed:
"Sir, I have a jam. It's impossible with this rifle, but it's jammed." The sniper states over comm, still scoping right onto Domino.

In his office, Lex stares at the 3D model just in front of his massive desk. An adept at reading people, he's getting a solid read through the hologram. Narrowing his eyes, Lex hits the intercom again, "switch to your backup rifle and try again."

The sniper does as ordered, the new rifle with a smaller round, but no less effective. It's assembled within twenty seconds, aimed, and the trigger is once again pulled.

Domino has posed:
Maybe it was just too many jobs, the change of the rifle, or the shooting too fast after. But the professional sniper aims not for the foot this time.. Of course that was his order, and he didn't intend to do anything his boss didn't expressly tell him to do, but instinct came over him when he aimed up the second shot that instinct said middle mass. So not to upset his boss at his failure the shot was done quickly though the skill of the shooter still followed the body of the target.

While this was happening she pushed off the wall, and was heading towards the street curb as she thought she saw some money floating there. It was just a dollar that must of fallen out of someone's pocket, but she didn't know that till she was closer. As she was walking the scope followed instinctfully staying on the target as he squeezed the trigger, and the bullet actually fired this time. What he didn't see that he would of if he had fired just a millisecond later was the sign post she had walked behind. The first rifle would of just pierced it, and shot her easy, but the lighter calibur round was not slightly off, and so deflected off. The bullet whizzed off to the side, and hit something else.

With the power of the rifle it still had plently of momentum from the sign post deflecting off, but still moving realitivly straight which gave it the power to reflect once again. This all happened in 'bullet speed' as there was three sounds... A 'ding' twice as the bullet ricocheted, and then a sound of glass breaking followed by silence. The bullet had changed, and headed straight back hitting the scope of the original shooter in the process. Domino had a gun out now, and was looking for where the shot came from but had not acted yet as she was just a human, and couldn't compare to bullet speed past her reflexes.

Lex Luthor has posed:
"Round hit a sign, sir." The sniper concluded. Back in LexCorp Tower, he was seeing a real time rendering of the situation, along with the broken glass, "I can see that. Stand down and return to the barracks." Lex ordered of the man. Then, he pressed a button. One of the drones observing suddenly veers off and heads directly for Domino at a slow pace. It's obvious, and visibly carries no guns. What it does carry... is a tablet computer in a robotic hand.

The small four rotor copter drone drifts in front of Domino by a dozen feet, and proceeds to land, offering the tablet up.

Domino has posed:
Domino is already looking for sshe shooter, as by this point ssshe has looked at tsshe post and found which way tsshe bullet has come in at, and moved into an alley to prevent from being shot at again from that direction. In ssher hands was a M203 that ssshe had stassshed on ssher back under tsshe coat. Ssshe currently had HE rounds in it, but also had smoke on ssher which is what ssshe was going to use to get closer to tsshe shooter. That is wsshen ssshe saw a drone coming, and while yes ssshe could shoot it down ssshe would have to switch back to a normal gun as hiting it with a ssshell would be tough.

As it got closer ssshe realized it wasn't what had shot at ssher, and that it had no weapons on it so ssshe kept ssher spot out of tsshe firing line of whoever had shot at ssher waiting for it to arrive. Lex may of been approaching slowly so not to lose his drone, but Domino was patient so waited in ssher spot for him to cross tsshe area ssshe was on alert now. Ssshe did wonder why ssher luck lead ssher to being shot at, but as it stops, and offeres tsshe tablet ssshe sighs to ssherself.. ssshe knew what this was.

Walking out pistol still in hand incase tsshey changed tssheir mind ssshe grabed tsshe tablet, and look at tsshe back of it with two very cold blue eyes. Not many knew about sshe power so sshe had to be someone with connections, and money for tsshe sniper, and tsshe drone buisness. Ssshe spoke to it before turning it over.. "You better be pretty important, or I am going to find that sniper kill him, tsshen you." as ssshe flips it still not knowing who it is.

Lex Luthor has posed:
"I admire the initiative, dear... but I think you'll find it difficult to follow through on those goals." Out of the tablet comes the voice of Lex Luthor, and soon enough, a video conference call of him against a blue background appears. "You performed well within expectations. That is to say..." He smirks, "probability heavily favored you, despite being a perfect target."

A moment passes, and a brow raises, "This was a test for a theory. After several eyewitnesses from your Central Park encounter gave accounts of you walking into a gunfight completely unfazed, it was easy to make the connection."

Domino has posed:
A cold smile crosses her face, but he look doesn't soften as it never does. "Lex Luthor.. My mistake, didn't know I was talking to royalty?" and a adds a bit of a smirk. Of course he wasn't real royalty, or well maybe he was she didn't know, but he was a big name to most mercs because he was the money. She looks back up where the shooter was, and doesn't see him aiming at her anymore so puts the gun away, as she looks back down at the pad. "So you heard about the park huh.. I wasn't there to get your attention yet, but it seemed to work anyway.. Lucky me I guess."

She moves back to lean against the wall holding the pad up infront of her, but in her spot it would be tough to get behind her. She was still on guard, maybe more now then she was, though not in an aggressive state. She knew how ruthless a Luther could be so didn't want to push her luck too much just incase she had accidently pissed him off in one thing or another. "I think it cute that you feel you set this up so I will listen.. what can I do for the most influencal man in Metropolis?" she watched the image infront of her carefully for responses. Lex had a poker face as it was needed in this buisness, but she was wording what she asked very carefuly still as she really didn't want the hastle of pissing off Lex for no reason.

Lex Luthor has posed:
"I wanted to see if the rumors were correct... and indeed they are. I'd like to meet you in person to discuss... potential employment. There's a car waiting down the block to bring you to LexCorp Tower, if you're interested." Lex offers in reply. Lex Luthor is a master of manipulation and deception; anyone connected to the global underworld knows that. You don't fuck with Luthor unless you have serious backing.

Nonetheless, the offer does seem genuine.

Domino has posed:
Domino smiles coldly at Lex. "They are... And I will give you one since you are what you are." she then turns, and doesn't threaten him with a next time, or even bring it up leaving it to his imagination as anything she did say would just make it seem less threatening.

She moves to the car without question, and glances a look of murder to the driver still saing nothing as she sits into the back of the car. This might of seemed a lot easier then Lex expected, but it doesn't look like she is worried more experienced in being in situations just like this. Some she had to fight out of, and some she didn't... Time would tell which one this was.

Lex Luthor has posed:
The car and the driver are obvious money. A black mini-limo, sleek and modern, waits for her. The man in the business suit says nothing as he watches her enter the back, and soon, they're off.

It takes about a half hour to drive to LexCorp Tower from where they were; the man is observing speed limits since there's no rush.

The bottom floors are half public, half LexCorp employee... so Domino might or might not have been here before. Domino however... is going into the back garage, not the front. She's going up to the private floors, so she gets the guest treatment.

A pair of Team Luthor guards greet her as the limo parks. Both men are in LexCorp designed armor and wielding barely legal assault rifles. Their face-plated helmets betray nothing of their emotions... but the logos all over their armor visibly identify them as part of the private army Luthor controls.

"This way." One grates over the helmet speaker, and both start to walk over to one of the many elevators in the garage.

Domino has posed:
The whole ride Domino is quiet in the back of the car. She doesn't talk to the driver, she doesn't take anything from inside she sits quietly waiting. She just stares a hole through the window infront of her as the driver pulls into the back, and for once she gives a small grin. This isn't the first time someone snuck her in to do buisness, nor would it be the last though she always found some small humor in it.

As the doors open she glances at the helmeted people, and sighs.. "Really... If you wanted to make a point you should of sent more." giving a cold smile to her own reflection, and turns heading towards the elevator at her own pace. She would make them wait for her as those who ran into these situations never made it out. Those who are observently slow.. Those are survivors.

Lex Luthor has posed:
The two Team Luthor enforcers escort Domino, "We have our orders to escort you to the office, ma'am. You haven't been up to the private floors, so you wouldn't know the way." The same enforcer explains in a neutral tone as he hits a button on the elevator. Within moments, the ding sounds and the doors open with a hiss... this isn't your normal elevator. It's something like a turbolift out of star trek.

The speed at which it goes up though... if you get motion sick easily, it'll probably trigger.

It takes about ten seconds to get to the top of the Tower, and one of the three elevators into the security checkpointed corridor going to the Man of Tomorrows main office floor opens. Domino gets through no problem, with the dozen or so floor bodyguards watching her every move... with the doors into Lex Luthors officer open to her.

Lex Luthor himself sits behind the massive technological desk, his 'throne' over Metropolis, and behind him is the smartglass wall overlooking his domain. To his left and right at the ends of the table are Mercy and Hope; his infamous bodyguards.

Domino has posed:
She glances at him as he speaks to her. Either they are underestimating her, or Luther has not told them what she can do. Either way at least it gave her an advantage if things went wrong. Thankfully her weakness isn't motion sickness as she does feel the world woosh around her to get her to the top of the tower.

She doesn't thank them, or talk to them further as she just walks towards the office like she is ment to be there, mostly because she is. She didn't seem impressed by they use of money as to her money was just a thing. When you are really lucky money just came to you when you needed it, and so she really hadn't put much value to it.

She glances over at Lex, Mercy, and Hope in that order as she enters into the room. She figured her response time, and their distance figuring worst case, but she doesn't draw or move to draw anything instead quietly moving into the room to the far side of a table. The only noise she makes is the one pulling over a chair that looks more comfortable then the one by the table and sitting on it. She gives Lex the look of calm calculation letting him speak first as he called her here, and it was his place.

Lex Luthor has posed:
The tales of Lex Luthors hospitality are fairly legendary among the circles where that sort of thing get bonuses. Here... Lex Luthor looks every bit the King operating out of his throne as he brings his considerable insight into the human mind to bear. He's inspecting her, from within and without, with his eyes, and he makes no attempt to hide it. She's expecting it after all. Is he pursuing a game of honesty with her? Who knows.

"You're taller than I imagined you'd be." Lex quips, finally, before he leans back into his chair, his hands steepling at his waist in his lap, "I was wondering if the mercenary role was a cover... but I haven't heard of you making waves outside of contracts. I have a number of potential jobs for one like you, but first; what skills do you offer?"

Domino has posed:
She looks at him for a long moment quietly after he talks and gives him a nod. "It is the heels they add an extra foot at least it helps keep them guessing, and a good weapon in a pinch." then sighs, and looks at him. "Lex.. I can call you Lex right." she gives a grin, "The greatest trick the devil ever pulled, was to make peple think he didn't exist." is her only answer to why he hadn't heard about her. "Well that... and there are only two people who lived long enough to know what I have done."

She gives a slight shug, "My skills, I survive anything.. Even now if I needed to I could get out of here." she holds up a hand to stop any objection. "We aren't to that point, and I don't know how.. But it would happen. Those are the kind of missions I do. The ones no-one else will because they are scared, or can't pull it off." she gives a half laugh, "Oh and the standard.. shoot, stab, blow up, violence kind of skills of course."
