Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Emma Frost, Gambit

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma made it a point to work out in the off times when others didn't frequent the gym areas. The same went for things like swimming, the computer room.. actually, anywhere others might frequent on a regular basis. In short, Emma wasn't the most social of staff at Xaviers. Only with folks home for the holidays, and only a skeleton support staff on site, along with the students who had nowhere else to go, Emma found considerably more hours she might avail herself of the gym.

Today she'd been doing some simple tai chi - nothing strenuous. Because it's just her, she has the lights dimmed, and low music playing. It's clear she's not expecting company.

Gambit has posed:
Remy tends to keep similar habits, at least for when working out. In the Danger Room he likes to show off, dance around, showboat, and in general see how annoyed he can make Scott at any given moment. But for actual physical conditioning, he enjoys a bit of quiet and concentration. He'd planned to come down and do some basic gymnastics. The pummel horse being his first thought, but as the gym doors open he sees Emma and can't help but smile. He focuses his thoughts into something light and gentle, directing it at the blonde woman. More a /feeling/ then actual words, a simple request to join her.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma goes through the simple kata-evoking motions of the art with her eyes closed. And while she's generally shielded from extraneous outside thoughts and feelings to reduce the overwhelm of it all, there is a ceratain amount of surface awareness that floats about for just such directed things as Remy puts forth. No, he's not a telepath, but she's skilled enough to pick up the intent he thinks at her.

Without losing a beat, Emma moves fluidly into the next motion, and gestures with a come-hither of a finger, eyes a mere slit to ascertain who it is first, and then closing again.

"I assume you know what you're doing," she says simply, continuing to follow the forms without checking to see if he actually joins her or not.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau Steps over next to her, though far enough away that their out stretched arms would not touch. "Ah do." He assures her in a soft voice, moving into the next stance seamlessly, mirroring her moves. Despite his earlier projection towards her, Emma would find it hard to actually pin Remy down telepathically. A vague presence rather then something more substantive. He closes his own eyes, letting the peace of the motions flow into him, letting the soft music flow over him.

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma moves through the forms, assuming he is following her. If he choses not to, it isn't her concern. She's already let his presence interrupt and change her routine as much as she's willing to allow. And while it's true his is a mind much harder than most, if not impossibly, to pin down, it's also true that Emma's use of her poweres is entirely less frequent than most would think. Providing you're aware of what Emma can do - and that circle is rather small. Certainly not within the circles of her social or business set.

"You didn't leave for the holidays?" Her question comes during a transition point, one where her body's facing changes, and a smooth lunge forward is made, and then retreated from. "I'd have thought you had better places to be."

Gambit has posed:
"Ah'm not 'zactlly what yah might call welcome back 'ome." he replies, softly. He is moving with her, fairly close to mimicing her motions almost precisely. "Yahself?" he questions, friendly in that curious small talk way. "Figured Ah'd pretty much 'ave de run of de place dis time of year."

Emma Frost has posed:
There's a short noise from Emma that wavers somewhere between derision and amusement at his answer. "Ah, yes. The prodigal son. I suppose we have something in common in that regard."

She runs through the closing forms of the exercise, and takes a moment to center herself again before opening her eyes and returning to the real world - other than the fact that the lights are still dim, and the soft music plays in the background.

"So, I confess to being curious, what ever did you do to find yourself so unwelcomed back home?" She, herself, has enjoyed frosty receptions in various places due to past politics. Including the fact that many still didn't think she should have been welcomed at Xaviers t all. That aside, Emma really didn't have a home to return to. Not one that would welcome her with open arms.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau hesitates for a moment, but then says "Ah killed someone. Clear case of self defense but allot of importan' people not see it dat way." he had brought a towel down with him, and he fetches it now to lightly dab the bit of sweat from his face that the work out started. "Tried ta go back once, an' 'ad it expressed dat 'e still not welcome. MAkes foh some lonely Christmases sometimes.

Emma Frost has posed:
There's an almost smile from Emma, who notes with a slight raising of brow, "I see. Another of those who didn't get the short straw but volunteered to stay behind." Which wasn't quite an admission that she'd volunteered as well, but it could also be taken that way.

"We are what we are, Remy. We can't spend our lives apologizing for it. All we can do is strive to be worthy of what we are, and to demonstrate that our lives have value. As for your past, I'd say I believed you, but mine isn't the forgiveness or the permission you need."

Emma is, at the heart of it all, a seemingly practical person.

"So, tell me. You didn't come down here to join me in tai chi. Shall I remove myself and let you attend to your own routine? I'd not meant to step on your toes, but the room was empty at an unexpected time and I took advantage." Acknowledging that this wasn't normally when she'd be found here herself.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau shakes his head slightly, "Firs' arrived, firs' claimed chere." he says with a shrugs, "Ah was gonna go t'rough some upper body stuff, but seein' as yah'd already started." He shrugs, "An' Ah like Tai Chi. Not mah first choice usually, but not one I absolutely abhor eit'er." He offers her a playful smile that has likely broken a few hearts in it's time. "An' Ah'm not lookin' foh fohgivness chere, nor permission. Ah believe every man 'as a price ta charge an' a price ta pay. Ah've paid mine in spades. If Ah've learned anyt'ing in mah life it's dis. Always play de 'and yah dealt an' play foh keeps.

Emma Frost has posed:
"Pragmatic," Emma says simply. "And a good enough motto to live by. I wouldn't say mistakes should be ignored, but our lives shouldn't become a perpetual payment plan against past actions."

She moves towards a side bench, and picks up a towel, patting at her arms and neck - not that there is a drop of sweat to be seen. "Tai chi has many benefits. Not the least of which is it contains all the moves of the other martial disciplines. Not that I practice those." She doesn't. But it's also true that it aligns focus, grounds, and increases response times and fluidity. Emma might not be a martial artist, but she has had occassion to fight, and imagines she will again. "It's always good to be prepared."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau grins just a little bit. "Two an' a 'alf million Boy Scouts can' be wrong, non?" he asks in that playful tone that is just one step back from flirtatious. Then again, Remy LeBeau could likely be inappropriately flirtatious while sitting quietly in the next room. "Ah like it foh de peace an' stillness it brings. Foh focus, reflexes, an' fluidity 'owevah, Ah tend ta prefer Parkour. Yah evah tried it?"

Emma Frost has posed:
"Me? Parkour?" Emma actually laughs, though it's soft and short. Most definitely in the incredulous range. "Do I look the sort?"

The laughter turns to a chuckle. "No. I haven't tried it. There's enough, I suppose, in our actual training sessions should I care for that sort of workout that I don't need to seek it elsewhere."

His flirtatiousness is most likely noted, but it's also ignored for now, being in the realms of understated, and casual. And certainly not directed at her purposefully.

"I've never really understood the idea of throwing myself at stationary objects for fun, merely to prove I can. Besides, I do rather prefer people underestimate me."

Gambit has posed:
As she says her last bit, Remy starts shaking his head and waving his hand slightly, as if to prevent her from continuing saying something unspeakable wrong, and the one stray thought that comes from him is one of mild annoyance. Like someone who has had to make a very common correction a great many times to a great many people. "Yah confusing Parkour wit' Free Running chere. It's like comparing a gymnast to an' acrobat." he says considering, "It's about moving more /efficiency/. Going ovah, under, even t'rough obstacles instead of goin' around dem."

Emma Frost has posed:
"Figure of speech, my dear Remy. I hardly meant literal throwing of one's self at objects. I'm familiar with the discipline."

Her patting down done, Emma tosses the towel into a nearby laundry basket. "People have these ideas in their head about me. I highly doubt parkour fits into those images. And just how would I explain myself then? Emma Frost, socialite and businesswoman embarking upon an urban adventure?"

Gambit has posed:
"Well depending on where yah were running, it less likely dey see Emma Frost, socialite an' business woman, as it is dat dey see Really cute platinum blonde running by wit' cute buns. But dat's jus' mah opinion. Ah could be wrong." He smirks a bit and shrugs. "Look yah jog, non? All Parkour is is takin' jogging ta de next level. FOh instance..." He turns then and runs briskly at a pomel horse. As he approches it he plants his hands, his legs going sideways to clear the obsticle, and then lands, barely breaking his stride." Now if yah were chasing me, or being chased by me, but 'ad ta run around dis t'ing... Ah just gain as much as ten steps on yah."

Emma Frost has posed:
Emma inclines her head. "Well, they see what I want, regardless. My point more being I'm not sure I see myself in that role." There is, however, an arch of brow. "Cute buns? Really." It's a dry statement, and not a question.

She's quick to move along in the conversation, however. "I jog on the mansion property, yes." And she had on other private trails, or tracks in the past. One of the benefits of being ultra rich. His antics regarded calmly. "I wouldn't say ten. You're assuming a terrible lot of myself and my abilities." Not that she was suggesting she prove him wrong.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau smirks slightly and shrugs, "Not like yah didn't already know chere, Ah'm jus' not ashamed ta admit dat Ah noticed." He say, but is otherwise willing to let the topic of Emma's "corporate assets" drop. He shrugs at her assessment as well, "Well far be it foh a gentleman ta evah force any sort of t'ing on a lady... not dat Ah'd be confused foh a gentleman most days anyway, but still de matter 'olds." He grins wickedly. "If yah change yah mid 'owevah, willing ta sho yah a few basic passes. If not'ing else, what good is it ta 'ave people 'ave preconceived notions of yah, if yah not willing and able ta break dem at an advantageous moment.

Emma Frost has posed:
"Corporate assets," Emma repeats after Remy, almost allowing a smile to flirt with her lips. Almost. "I can't say I've heard that one before."

She does incline her head somewhat to him. "Perhaps. I have noted a lack of training sessions for the senior members of our team. It might be a thing to try, do you not think?"

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau raises an eyebrown and smirks just a bit himself, but nods slightly. "Mah pappa always said when yah stop learning, yah start dieing. Remy plan ta live fohevah, so.." He offers that wicked grin again and says, "Like Ah said it's up to you. But Ah'm willing ta give yah a few lessons anytime yah like..."

Emma Frost has posed:
There's an enigmatic smile from Emma as she turns and heads towards the exit. "I'll keep that in mind. And you might wish to consider my proposal. I think it might be interesting to see what the rest of the X-Men would make of your parkour."

And with that, she takes her leave.
