Enlisting a Professional
Date of Scene: 04 January 2019
Location: Atop the Gotham Opera House
Synopsis: Shredder enlists Catwoman to find some sensitive information.
Cast of Characters: Shredder, Catwoman

Shredder has posed:
Not night time, Gotham. Contrary to what might be believed, day time happens in Gotham occasionally. And it's a daytime meeting that the Shredder requested through a very frightened Penguin. The Foot, an organization with an immortal warlord called the Shredder, needs the services of the best thief in the area. To be sure, he has asked that she meet him on top of the Opera House during the day, a time that would be harder to sneak around due to the increased traffic.

And so here he waits, the bladed armor donning hsi shoulders and dark crimson cape gently brushed by the wind. The black shinobi mask covers the helmeted head. To all appearances, he's alone, just watching the city below.

Catwoman has posed:
Most thieves probably wouldn't have even bothered to show up. Most thieves probably don't even have the skill to remain unseen during the day but it's really not that hard to travel to the opera house in normal clothes, change in a dark alley, and then climb onto the roof without anyone seeing. Catwoman definitely could have travelled there unseen in her night job outfit but why go through all the trouble? So there she is standing behind Shredder after silently making her way up on the alley side of the building, "Now that you've traumatized a man child gangster for life, -and- made him pee himself to get out of paying for a service like a normal person, just to find me.. well.. here I am. I don't really make house calls but I hear that you were very persuasive. Penguin refuses to come out of his lounge now and he's posted triple the usual muscle inside.. all armed. Takes the fun out of the place if you ask me.."

Shredder has posed:
"Mr. Cobblepot's initial resistance was his own folly," The voice behind the mask says. A Japanese accent. "He had the option to openly submit. He was wise enough to listen to reason, though." He turns around to look at the woman he intends to hire. "So you are the Catwoman. Known in the circles of Gotham as a woman who can get anything. Your reputation does not overspeak, I trust."

Catwoman has posed:
Catwoman smiles, "I always get my way if that's what they mean. Sometimes that means that things that belong to one person end up belonging to me.. or someone else. I'm just a good luck charm handsome.. point me at what you want and it will gravitate my way.." She winks beneath her goggles.

Shredder has posed:
"Indeed," the Shredder answers. "I am happy to hear that." He seems to be a man with little sense of humor, there doesn't seem to be amusement in his voice beyond the pleasure of hearing an affirmative.
"There are a number of judges, three of them to be exact, who have indiscretions which can be exploited. I have discovered this through connections, but I require something more concrete to influence their decisions for my current plans. I need someone who can find these things and bring them to me. Whatever evidence might exist to expose them."

Catwoman has posed:
Catwoman appears amused, "Sounds interesting. Espionage is always fun. I take my work seriously as you'll find but I enjoy the drama I sometimes cause on the job. I have quite a few stories if you want to hear them sometime.. but I'll have to leave out a lot of names and.. certain details that I have to take to my grave.. you understand I'm sure."

Shredder has posed:
"Closed lips lead to longer lives," the Shredder says. He pulls a slip of paper of the names. "What is it that you have as your price for such an operation?" he asks simply. He extends the list toward her, the spikes of his tekko nagi claws pointed toward her, though not in an aggressive manner.

Catwoman has posed:
Catwoman thinks, "We'll say two thousand per judge for this one. You'll be pleased with the results and it will be worth every penny." She takes the list and slips it into a zipper pocket on her torso, "Judges.. they always think they are untouchable. That smug demeanor they always wear in courtrooms. When I was younger and actually got caught? Saw plenty of them. I am sure they haven't changed much."

Shredder has posed:
"Two thousand it will be," Shredder says without contest. "How soon can I expect results? My need for the information grows near." He looks back at the city below, then back at Catwoman. "I understand there are many in this city that would resist change, those who have dressed in cape and cowl for many years to apply pressure to the bleeding wounds of Gotham. Do you expect trouble from them?"

Catwoman has posed:
Catwoman thinks, "Well it would be smart to hit all of the judges in one night so it shouldn't take long. I would say less than a week. Once I've made my plans I'll make my move the very same night. You'll also find that I don't procrastinate." She smiles, "As for the do-gooders of the city? I won't expect much interference from them if at all. I don't kill anyone so that places me pretty low on their list of priorities. Unless Batman happens to be rummaging through their offices the same night I am? I am sure it will be one of my easier jobs this month."

Shredder has posed:
"Very good. In the China Basin, you can talk to Ho Minh, he will give you the payment when you have attained the evidence," Shredder says. "If you do work as well as you claim, you may find yourself a very wealthy woman through my coffers in the future."

Catwoman has posed:
Catwoman nods with a wink, "Then it's a deal. I think you will find dealing with me is a lot more convenient than some of those nosey gossips from Metropolis. They ask too many questions and leave you wondering if they'll snitch on you later. I go out of my way not to know anything more than what I am told at face value. It's just.. better for everyone that way don't you agree?"
