Cast of Characters: Omega Red, Rogue

Omega Red has posed:
Mutant Town. Not the great haven for the next evolution of man that has been promised by many in the past. Residents are poor and crime is a daily occurrence. It's no wonder, then, that in the midst of the so-called Black Sleep that a few murders in such a borough would go unreported by the local news agencies. But, if one knows what to listen for, they would have heard reports of a mutants having gone missing only to be found lifeless in back alleys.

So far, four victims have been found, each a week apart and bearing the same wound: a severely bruised neck. Strangulations. The consistent MO and the timeframe between victims has the citizens of Bushwick convinced there is a serial killer in their midst.

Now, as the sixth day since the last victim was found, people are beginning to worry about who may be next. The streets of Mutant Town are surprisingly quiet, now, as those who can have elected to stay at home and hope whatever evil is lurking in the shadows chooses to pass them by.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue had some business in Mutant Town, she'd originally been planning to go out of town today but the events of the BlackSleep epidemic had her hanging around. She had friends here, friends who lived in this borough and they'd asked her to come and help them out. She wasn't a detective, murders weren't her thing, but all the same she had some free time now that she'd changed her plans and was here now. She'd met with her friends, they knew she'd been with the Avengers, they asked if she'd wander about the neighborhood some and offer to be a face of protection, she's a 'fairly well known' super hero after her year with the Avengers.

So here she is. walking the cold lonely streets! Black leather jacket on, dark green hood up but her white bangs are flowing out on either sides of her face. Her hands are in the side pockets of her leather jacket and her lower half is encased in black jeans and tall black boots that go up to her knees.

Omega Red has posed:
A chill wind picks up, buffeting against Rogue as she makes her way along a row of shops and boarded up buildings. Not condemned, just shut down by owners who could no longer afford to keep them open. A few have signs declaring the space for rent but others seem to have been shuttered for good. Those people who have to be out cast worried glances Rogue's way but, upon seeing her face, most of those glances become ones of surprise at seeing the former Avenger. One young teenager even stops, eyes wide, with a goofy expression on his face as he raises his hand in an awkward wave.

Off in an alleyway, between two of the shuttered buildings, a cat howls and a trashcan lid clatters to the ground. The sound of the bang echoes down the alley before a series of crashes follow and another screech from the alleycat. No doubt rivals fighting over the same scrap of food, although the beast did sound more alarmed than angered.

Rogue has posed:
"I feel like one'a those weird street vigilantes..." Rogue mutters after she returns the teens wave and then calls out to him. "Get yourself home as soon as possible. Things are still weird out here."

After she watches the similarly aged kid make his leave she hears the cat and commotion in the alleyway and this gets her green eyes to turn and look down that stretch of dirty pavement. She'd meant to head over to that side of the block anyway, but she was gonna do it the long way. "May as well play the damsel in the alley role..." Rogue mutters then as she glances left, then right, and starts down through the mouth of said alley.

Her hands still in her pockets, her black leather boots impact with the cold concrete. "Here kitty kitty..." Rogue says out loud, visually searching the alleyway for where the feline in distress may be as she moves deeper into the area between the buildings.

Omega Red has posed:
The boy nods to Rogue's warning and he steps back against the wall behind him. As he does, his body seems to blend in with the wall, leaving only his clothes clearly visible; his skin has changed in colour and pattern to match his surroundings. When he starts back down the street, Rogue can see his skin changing numerous times as he passes other buildings.

In the alley, one wouldn't need such adaptive camouflage as the dark shadows would give plenty of cover. Rogue makes it halfway down the alley when a small dark shape darts across the path ten feet in front of her. There is another bang of detritus as the cat scurries through a hole in the wall of the building to Rogue's right and is gone.

When the clattering of the metal dies down, a new sound rises up to fill it. Choking sobs mixed with wheezing comes from the building the cat ran from - the one to Rogue's left - through a broken window on the ground floor. A voice can be heard, too, although exactly what is being said is too low to be heard.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue had given a look to that mutant teen as he'd scurried off, she'd not ever seen that power put display before... but thats part of this city neighborhood after all... gotta get used to that around here, she's told herself many a time.

When the shadow moves in front of her and darts off to her right she stops in her tracks and her dark green gloved hands come out of her jacket pockets, she draws in a breath and looks in that direction now, about to take a step toward it when the sounds of a voice can be heard to her left.

The mutant, former Avenger, former X-Men, bites down on her bottom lip for a second before she decides to snoop some. She walks instead to her left and goes to get up closer to that window to try to get within ear-shot of whatever is being said in there... this is what vigilantes do, right? They snoop!

Omega Red has posed:
Rogue draws closer to the broken pane of glass and the voice becomes more clear. The words echo slightly, bouncing around the empty building before finding their way out to the snoop.

"Now, tovarish," come the words in a thick, Russian accent. "I will ask only one more time. Where is the X Weapon? Tell me, tovarish, where to find the X Weapon and live. Fail and..."

There is a momentary increase in the wheezing, followed by a ragged cry and quick, laboured breaths.

"I... X Weapon? What are you talk..."

The words are cut off by a sharp breath that quickly fades to silence.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's dark eyebrows lower down some as she picks up on these voices, Russian? The Russian mafia? Oh god... She stole a bunch of stuff from the Russian mafia about a year ago, and then traipsed around town finding place that would buy it, this was shortly after she joined the Xavier sphere. She hates these guys.

Her right hand presses up against the brick wall and she leans against it to get a good listen then just shakes her head back and forth inside of her hood. She could push this wall right over if she wanted to... and in fact she looks straight up now to get a feel for the building... probably would cause too much damage, might kill people inside... bad idea.

With a slight exhale. Rogue takes a step back then and she rushes at the window and jumps up into the air with her gloved fists out. She dives RIGHT through its opening, using her flight power to make it easy-enough to accomplish.

She lands inside the room, does a roll and springs back up to her feet! Then, the southern belle just smiles, at whomever may be staring at her now.

Omega Red has posed:
Inside of the building is another mutant; this one with a large, green fin on his head. He is on his knees in front of a larger - or at least broader - white-skinned male with long, blond hair. On the larger man's forehead, held there by a headband, is a red omega symbol.

The source of the wheezing becomes apparent quickly as a metal tentacle is wrapped around the kneeling man's neck. Although he is prying at it with his fingers, he is having little luck in loosening its grip. The tentacle stretches up from the man's neck to the forearm of the larger man, where it protrudes from his left wrist.

The white-skinned male looks up from his 'interrogation' as Rogue rolls into the room. Two red eyes lock onto her as the man sneers slightly.

"Americans... Always so flash. Be gone, little one. This does not concern you."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's eyes travel over both of the men and she eyes the one with the green skin and the fin on his head... he looks like someone she met here in Mutant Town last year, Dragon... something? She can't remember exactly. Either way her eyes fallow the tentacle strangling the poor fellow and she now looks upon the white dude with the omega symbol on his brow.

His words spoken to her and she just flashes a grin at him. "Hey now, sugah." She responds. "Ya just complimented my body type. I appreciate that." Her southern flavored voice makes it quite obviosu that she is indeed an American girl. "That bein' said though, looks like what you're doin' here is pretty far from bein' on the level. So I'm gonna have t'ask ya to let this guy loose. Maybe you'd rather focus on me? I'm definitely a more fun target!" And the way she says that is very flirty and inviting, which is kind of her style!

Omega Red has posed:
"You would defy the word of Omega Red? You are treading on the thinnest ice, tovarish."

The tentacle coming from Omega Red's wrist flexes and the man at the other end begins to rise as he lifted from the ground. His fighting against his captor is starting to weaken as his breaths become harder and harder to take in.

"You would save this one? Take his place? Omega Red is reasonable. Provide the information he cannot and he may live. Refuse, and he dies. To show my good faith..."

The tentacle adjusts around the man's throat and he takes in a few quick, desperate gasps.

"Now, tovarish. Tell me... Where is the X Weapon?"

Unbeknownst to our heroine, however, Omega Red has begun to release a small amount of his death pheromones into the air. Not enough to damage anyone too badly; just enough to weaken enough for an edge.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue watches as the man with the fin on his head is lifted up into the air and she hears the demands for information on some kind of X Weapon. She doesn't know shit about any X Weapons. So she just shakes her head from side to side. "Look. I'm sure we can figure out where your missin' bauble is, lets just talk about this like reasonable adults, right?" She doesn't even look like she's out of her teenage years...

"Put the guy down... and I won't have'ta bring this building down on top of your head. Sound fair?" She asks him. "I'm an Avenger, ya know... all I gotta do is talk inta my earpiece and I'll have the whole damn team comin' down on this place. From Iron Man t'pretty boy Thor." She doesn't have an earpiece in anymore, she left that with the rest of her stuff at the Avengers Mansion, but its worth a shot!

Rogue's also not aware of any Death Pheromones... she wouldn't even know what that was if she did hear the words either.

Omega Red has posed:
Omega Red sneers at Rogue as she speaks. He is convinced that she, like the others he has questioned, know nothing about what he is seeking.

"The X Weapon is person, little fool. It is not bauble."

The rest of her words mean little to him. The Avengers didn't exist the last time that Omega Red stalked the world and he has no idea who this man of iron may be and Thor could be anyone.

"But since you are not knowing..."

The man at the end of the tentacle shrieks in pain and surprise as his legs begin to kick futilely at the air. In a brief second, he is gone. The whiplike tentacle twists, hurling the man's lifeless body at Rogue as a second one creeps its way out of the pale man's right wrist.

"You will face the wrath of Omega Red!"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue didn't spend much time with Logan in her days with the X-Men. He was a ghost, never around, few people could ever get in touch with him... so she wasn't aware of any potential links to being a X-Weapon, if even it was him that this man was after. Either way, she stands ready and when the body is flung at her she just catches it and lowers the man down to the floor.

"Oh, for god's sake. Why'd have have t'go and do that!" Rogue says as she stands back up and now watches him extending another metal grabby-thing, she snarls and lunges at him much like she had at the window to get in here! With her fists out, Rogue leaps right at this guy, using her flight power to propel at deadly speeds and her invulnerability to make herself a living wrecking ball!
