Cast of Characters: Black Queen, Kaelyn Silverleaf

Black Queen has posed:
It's a bar, there's nothing rather amazing about this bar. So-called-classic rock on the jukebox and a few othe people present. But what really makes this bar rather interesting is its proximity to a particular school. Xavier's School for the Gifted. And inside sits a woman, at a table, reading a newspaper. And she's not old, or anything of the like, she's actually just turned 20 or in her early 20s at the latest since she was able to get in the bar. She's also not drinking the harder liquor but instead has some wine in a glass, as she spends her time reading some more of the newspaper and sitting there... waiting for something or someone.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Some thing, and some one all at the same time shows up. The sound of massive hoof falls can be heard as a rubber-booted/shoed red head with a clydes-dale for the lower body comes ducking into the place. Kae sighs as she manages to get through the door, muttering "Soo can't wait till this wears off..." She mutters, and waves to the bartender. Kae's been wandering into the place for the last few days, as she's been out digging up antique and arcane books. Salem is a really good place for that... On her lower back, she's got a few large bags, and these actually appear full...

Kae then makes her way to a table in a corner, so as to get her bulk out of the way... As she gets there, she gives a bit of a sheepish nod and smile to the bartender, before they send over a waitress... Kae then orders her self a pitcher of dark beer, probably a porter, before laying her lower half down, taking up as small an area as she possily can while relaxing for the moment.

Black Queen has posed:
Blinking a few times, Selene looks at the centaur of a woman walking in. As the horse like person moves past her, Selene scoots her chair further against the wall, so she does not have to be even close to the centaur moving past. Though there's a whiff of magic to the centaur, and not the level of fae blood that all centaurs possess no, something different. Standing up and turning her chair about, looking over at Kaelyn, settling her paper down on her table. "By the gods, you look absolutely hideous. Are you positive, there girl, that -this- bar is the one you really wish to be at for the interim?" Selene winces and shakes her head a little bit, "If I looked like -that- I would have ran myself in front of a bus by now, or drowned myself in a lake. Good on you for being so brave to go outside like that." Selene smiles a bit, in a 'bravo' to you kind of way.

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae shrugs slowly, and adds "Umm, wooow, well at least I can go and make some kind of impression on folks, even if not favorable I think..." She says and shrugs slowly. "Anyhow, one lives with what they got, and eventually I'll be back to normal on a permanent basis." She says with a grin. "Arcane accidents and all, not-withstanding... " She says.

Eventaully her beer arrives, along with a large glass. Kae fills said glass and takes a long pull "Soo either you dislike horses, or dislike centaurs or both. Sorry to insult by being here. Can't help being what I am currently."

Black Queen has posed:
Looking at the woman, Selene just eyeballs her with pretty clear disgust. "Well, man, meaning humans, were made in god's image. Gods and goddesses all look like me, not you currently. The universe is trying to say something is it not?" And with that she wonders, "Arcane accidents can be easily reversed. It is a simple matter really. You look at the magic that is currently present, and start to flip pieces of it around, like you might a rubix cube. Move the wrong one, and death, or permanency or whatnot. Though move the right ones, all at the same time. And poof, gone." She hmmms a moment, "You know there was a woman, Baba Yaga, she often cured people of curses. Her trick was a little different, she would use the power of contracts, deals. There is a powerful magic behind agreeing to things, it is true amongst devils and demons as well." A little shrug of her shoulder, "Angels, most anyone actually. Or so I have read in many of my books."

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae smiles a bit "True to all that. And normally if it were just one magical influx, I'd just undo it... To be honest it's many... imagine taking a double armful of small enchantments and potion base. Wrap it up in a leather bag, mash it together and detonate the magic, letting it all out at once. Anyone hit by it would not be affected by one spell, but would be affected by many, it's that many that's causing the problem..." She says with a shrug.. "And to be honest, by the time I pulled apart all the spells, the magic its self would just wear its self out anyway. So this is not permanent. Also, I'm an artificer by trade, a full sorceress, no longer a journeyman, and have a lot of my time taken up by placing and creating enchantments and procuring reagents for other magi rather than taking care of my own things.... It's simply more efficient just to wait this all out, go about doing my job and getting other folks helped and taken care of..." She says and grins a bit. "Live and learn... also fixed the issue with imps breaking into my shop... Now I just gotta round up the imps and get the things back... Other thing I've noticed, is since I've allready been affected strongly by my own magical items, perverted into wierd chaotic magical influx bombs as it were... this little disadvantage works to my advantage, as I'm not further affected physically by further attacks by these imps... messes with my clothes a bunch, but not me personally."

Black Queen has posed:
"Sounds like you do not have a lot of experience with curses." It isn't like anyone has as long of a history with curses as Selene, but she doesn't really indicate that. "You are trying to hard to assault the problem on a layered basis. Think about it as a mathematical problem. If you take all of the complexity, you can begin to simplify it and find what it is in simple terms. What might look like say, a hundred different spells, are really just a variation and distribution of say 3 or 4. They mix in various complexity at every layer to create the overall, but most spellcasters are really just... well, to put it mildly, working harder not smarter." Grabbing her wine she takes a sip of it and then sets it back on the table, "As for the imps. I rather enjoy them. So much mischief, and there is always interesting fun for them to get in."

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae nods "Meh, I know, again, I could stay at it, unravel chunks of it, and all the like 70+ spells affecting me right now... Or I could just wait for them to wear off, change my self, back and continue to make things and make other folks happy..." She says and shrugs... "Better spend my time doing other things really...."

Black Queen has posed:
"You, as a practicioner of magic, would rather leave a curious magical puzzle to just 'wear off' so that you can do the thing you already know how to do well and learn... nothing?" Selene questions incredously, "That seems like the reverse of the studious path. Such a spell could have far reaching answers. Leaving well enough alone in this case just seems particularly lazy. As if you do not really wish to advance your skills, or get outside of your comfort zone. Sometimes you spend the time now, so when lives are on the line later, you do not have to think about it. Though, choose as you will."

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae shrugs "Noo, I know the magic affecting me will fall away and wear off.. I'm better suited to solving other puzzles. I -know- I can remove what's on me given time. I'd be better suited fixing problems that cause more problems for other folk. Case in point, that whole black sleep thing. I was making artifice for the magicans who eventually stopped it. That was a different puzzle to break down." She adds and grins a bit "I can put up with being this way for a while, if I can solve the puzzles that will help more than just me."

Black Queen has posed:
"Well, goddesses help those who help themselves. That sleep thing really was a bother. People stopped walking around, had to go and find them. It was rather... obnoxious." States Selene, as she sips her wine again, "You see, that was a rather simple curse. I would have been interested in helping, but it was simply not bothering with me at all. Had it, then naturally I would have fixed the whole thing. There was some advantages though to it, so many less bothersome people wandering about. You see, it was kind of a neutral thing. It was not purely bad nor good that everyone was sleeping."

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae nods "Well, okie, anyhow, I can also study how this magic's working together, and maybe use it in my other magics... I know how to tear it apart. I can litterally see the knots and twists in just about any magic if I look hard enough.. And I can break those.. Buut, I can glean a lot from how the chaotic magics work together... Maybe use it ot an advantage in the future." She says and shrugs again.. She takes another long pull of beer and tops her glass off...

At the talk of the sleeping thing Kae raises an eyebrow curiously. "Anyhow, I'll eventually be out of this, I've gotta work to help restore erased memories of a friend here... That's what's concerning me more than removing this curse... Besides, memories that are genuinely lost and using temporal magics along with healing and restorative? That should be an interesting challenge."

Black Queen has posed:
"Fiddling with chaotic magic, while attempting to decipher time. I imagine there is absolutely nothing that could go wrong there." Selene comments off handedly. "Is there a particular reason you are returning someone's memories? Did they owe you something and forgot?" Asks Selene, curious about the person and their magic. "Either way, there are somethings best left forgotten... or so I have heard. I forget nothing, so it is rather difficult to agree with the statement."

Kaelyn Silverleaf has posed:
Kae shrugs "I imagine they would want their memories back..." She says and shrugs... "Should be amusing also the first time they see me, right now they're in coma, so I gotta roust them out and have them conscious while I get a read on things and get things started." She says with a slight smirk... "Sooo fully expect to get called a horses ass, or have some kind of legs comment made." She adds and shrugs...

At the forget nothing thing, Kae tilts her head... "Anyhow, just imagine forgetting a all your memories back to a certain point... ya might want those back, good or bad... Ya kinda loose your self if you loose most of your memories... Anyhow, knowing who it is, if I restore they and they still want em gone, they can tell me off and make em go away..." She says and shrugs.. "At which point, I won't attempt to recover them again." She says Kae's soon finished her pitcher, looks at it. "Wasn't long ago, that would make me totally sloshed... now.... NOt even a slight buzz.." She shrugs and looks to Selene "Well, nice meeting you, I have to go make another pickup and I guess check on my patient." She says with a slight grin.

Black Queen has posed:
"I can not imagine an impossibility. Though if you have worked out the greyness of making someone choose to forget a piece of themself. Then all the better for you." And before Kae can get up and start to leave a person close to the entrance gets up and heads out of the bar. At that point, Selene gets up, "Yes yes yes, well, have a good time being an ugly beast." And she starts to walk toward the door as well, heading to go outside and turns the same direction as the person who just got up and left did.
