Clark Comes Home
Date of Scene: 09 January 2019
Location: Lois' Apartment
Synopsis: Clark returns home after having been away for a few months due to Kryptonite poisoning and healing.
Cast of Characters: Lois Lane, Superman

Lois Lane has posed:
Lois has been going through the motions as one would put it. The apartment in Metropolis is clean, post work mail that was opened is squared away in all of its spots. But something is still missing. The auburn haired woman settles down at the dining room table with her computer and looks through her emails, checking deadlines on stories that are coming up. It's a run of the mill Wednesday for the reporter really.

Superman has posed:
Keys. They jingle in the door. There's really only two people that have keys to her apartment. The Super, who has to call in advance. And Superman, who is Clark, that doesn't. "Lois, I'm home!" Home. The word lingers on his thoughts for a moment. Is her apartment home? Is the fortress? Earth? They say home is where the heart is so.. short of a certain ranch in Kansas.. this is home. Naturally, he's wearing the spare suit he keeps at the Fortress. As he drops the keys into the bowl by the door, his jacket comes off.. so does the tie.. and the glasses.. as he walks purposefully towards the dining room table.

Lois Lane has posed:
Lois' head lifts at the sound of keys jingling and the woman is a bit startled for a minute. She didn't give anyone else keys. And the super hadn't called for anything. She's standing when she hears Clark's voice and that's when she gets a little weak in the knees. A natural reaction when it's been a few months. "Clark?!" she makes sure she's hearing things right. She starts around the table, her eyes bright, a smile on her face, heart hammering in her chest. "Is everything healed?" she asks him as she crosses the floor towards him.

Superman has posed:
Clark is opening his arms as Lois comes around the table and advances. Maybe he moved faster than normal to close the distance... but his embrace is as gentle as he might be with fine china. "All better." He replies with a warmth in his eyes for her. "I apologize for not calling but the reception out there was horrible." You know 'out there' hovering next to the sun where solar flares would crisp anything electronic but were delightful caresses to a napping Kryptonian.

Lois Lane has posed:
Lois wraps her arms around him, hugging him close to make sure he's really there and solid. Well, Kryptonian's tend to be rather solid! "Oh thank god. I thought I fell asleep on the table again." she laughs softly. Then she looks up to him, her eyes full of warmth, "You have no reason to apologize, you needed to heal and it was going to take a bit. Phones don't tend to work in outer space." she admits. "And I've not picked up long range telepathy while you were gone that I know of." she tells him. "Are you hungry? Is there anything I can get you?" she asks him after a moment.

Superman has posed:
"I don't suppose you have a slice of mom's apple pie lingering around." There's a hopeful tone in his voice as he looks to the refrigerator. Sadly, Kryptonian eyes know the truth of it and his hopes are dashed. "It's alright. I can make due with ice cream and a little chocolate sauce." He flashes her a grin. "I have all I want right here." He turns a devoted gaze to Lois and lowers his face to kiss her tenderly.

Lois Lane has posed:
Lois gives a soft smile, "No, but I'm sure if we call your mom she would be happy to make you one if we visit." she tells him. "We do have plenty of ice cream though. And no, I've not been eating that exclusively." she chuckles and explains before he asks. Then she looks up to him and there's a warm smile as she touches his cheek and returns his kiss softly.

Superman has posed:
Clark Kent lingers a little in that kiss before breaking it with a caress of her hair. "Please tell me you've been working a case.. and not one that will get you killed." The expected tease is offered. "Though if you had a lead into that warsuit that blasted me.. I wouldn't complain." Still holding onto her, he lets his eyes linger before letting out a small sigh and letting her go. "How's Perry doing? Do I still have a job or did my 'extended vacation' not burn all of my sick days?"

Lois Lane has posed:
Lois doesn't mind lingering in the kiss, definitely happy to have him home. "Happy New Year, belatedly." she tells him softly. Though his question draws a smile, "I've been working on a few things, nothing that will get me killed though." she tells him. "I don't have any leads on the warsuit unfortunately." she frowns just a touch. "And you still have a job, Perry knows you needed the time and well, it helps when you've got people to back you up." she nods to that.

Superman has posed:
"There are days I wonder if I'm the luckiest guy on Earth." Clark begins, "Then you remind me I don't have to wonder. Thanks, Lois." He flashes her a bit of a grin. "Alright, so what's the plan for New Years? I know I missed it but that doesn't mean we can't celebrate. Something in? Something out? I'd talked to Kara about maybe a bit family gathering.. since those are hard to pull off. Maybe it's best we missed the holidays. That way people aren't spread so thin with their commitments."

Lois Lane has posed:
Lois gives him a bit of a sheepish smile, "I just wanted you to come home to semi normal and not a bunch of upset." she tells him. "So that goal was done." she states with a proud look. Then there's a look around, "Well, the plan for New Years could be anything. I could order something and we could rewatch the ball drop. I taped it. Guess I figured you'd get home sooner or later." she winks. "I'd love to see Kara and the family though. So we could plan something small for everyone and see how that goes?" she offers.

Superman has posed:
Clark Kent takes a hand and rubs the back of his neck, an awkward 'about that' sort of smile comes to his face. "Does.. twenty.. sound small? To you?" Ahem. "We ran the numbers and it's about that. Kara's family, mom, you, Conner..." There's a hand rolling etcetera. "But it's all family. Everyone.. well.. everyone that we can relax around."

Lois Lane has posed:
Lois looks to Clark and there's a moment where she has this dead serious look. Then she gives him a grin, "It's not into triple digits, I think we can work with that." she tells him as she kisses his cheek. Then she looks around, "Are we hosting it here?" she asks him. "If so I just need to know a good date and then we can work on details from there." she tells him in a warm tone.

Superman has posed:
"I was actually thinking the barn back at mom's place." Clark offers up, "I hate having her travel if we don't have to.. plus the barn gives us plenty of space to set up a spread, maybe a little dance floor, plenty of seats.. plus if someone oopses.. no complaints about a hole in the wall." He gives a side-eye to the drywall.

Lois Lane has posed:
Lois gives a bright smile to that, "I'd love to see your mom as well...and the farm. So I like that idea." she nods to that. "Not that I don't want to host things here, but you have it right, twenty is a bit much and the barn is roomier for things." she grins to that. "And if someones laser vision accidentally goes off it's not going to make renters insurance go up or make questions awkward." she teases gently.

Superman has posed:
Clark Kent whinces a little. "Let's hope that doesn't happen." After all, Lois isn't impervious to harm.. and neither is his mom. "But. Since we have a plan, let's get to making it happen, hmm? We just need to find a weekend we can get away. Maybe.. groundhog day? That's a Saturday this year right?" There's just something that amuses him about having an El family reunion on a national woodchuck holiday.

Lois Lane has posed:
Lois gives a soft look to Clark, "It's not like it's going to happen, Clark, but just in case. And we'll make sure your mom doesn't get into anything." she tells him as she gives his arm a gentle squeeze. "I don't have anything planned for that weekend, so lets do it then. I think it's a perfect time for that." she gives him a bright smile. Then she's picking up her calendar to mark it down. "We'll just have to make sure to get the date out to everyone."
