The Rise and Very Quick Demise of Doctor Snocone
Date of Scene: 16 January 2019
Location: Xavier's School - Backyard
Synopsis: Bobby gives some training to younger students, and ends up in a snowball war with Rogue and Lorna!
Cast of Characters: Iceman, Rogue, Polaris

Iceman has posed:
While it's true that Bobby Drake is mostly the math teacher for the school, every once in a while he wants to help some of the kids unwind with their powers. And this is one of those days. Bobby's taken over the backyard of the school, and there is a /lot/ of snow around. "Alright. Here's what we're going to do. I'm gonna make snowmen. I mean, a lot of snowmen. And they're going to try to get you. You're going to have to stop my evil snowmen!" He even affects an evil laugh as he lifts himself on a pedestal of ice and looms.

Wait. Is he.. yes, he's wearing a tablecloth around his back and tied off like a cape to give him a villanous look. "I, Doctor Snocone, shall conquer the school yet!" he roars, and starts to create several snowmen. He's using this as his own exericse in controlling and reaching out with his powers as he makes one - then two animated snow golems, each of them six feet in height as they start trudging towards the school chasing after the younger students which are laughing and throwing snowballs about in glee.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue has moved most of her stuff into a room in the school again and has been settling back into life here. She still has her place in Manhattan, its leased until mid summer but she's enjoying herself back here away from the hectic life of the city.

Right now, she's emerging along a pathway from the lake, wearing a heavy black peacoat and a dark green wool knit cap over her two-toned brown and white hair. Beneath her coat is the sweater that Lorna gave her as a late Christmas present (thought Rogue cosniders it an early Birthday present). Her big black leather snow boots are on over a pair of dark grey trousers and she's trudging along through Bobby's snowland back toward the school.

At Rogue's side is her German Shepherd 'Aces' walking along with her on a leash. The dog is attentively staring at Doctor Snocone and the activity there, while Rogue is staring at her phone.

Polaris has posed:
The green haired woman stepped outside, a mug of hot chocolate clasped in her chilled hands as she stepped outside. Lorna wore a lavender winter jacket, thick and thermal and fleece lined. A cream colored scarf wrapped in fluffy loops around her neck and was tucked up by her nose to keep her features warmer than the rest of her face. She shivered as she watched Bobby create a mass amount of snowmen to chase the various students that battled in the backyard.

A glance at Rogue and Lorna flashed the other woman a grin and a wave of her hand. "Hey! Glad to see you liked the sweater."

Iceman has posed:
The younger kids are still running around and playing in the snow. Several of them are finally starting to use their powers to fight against the snowmen, and there's a smile of approval from Bobby. "That's it! Just remember to focus, don't let the moment overwhelm you to the point of overpowering you!"

While he's chasing the kids with his snowmen, Bobby notices Rogue. "Hey!" he calls over to her. And then he gets mischevious. With his cape billowing - and a warm scarf around his neck, the ice maker forms a snowball in his hands. "Aha, I shall put you on //ice// you Southern Belle!" comes the threat as he tosses the perfectly made snowball at Rogue, intending to hit her in the arm. But then there's Lorna that is coming into view of Bobby's snowball. Oh no! %

Rogue has posed:
Rogue makes her way up close to where Lorna is and she smiles at the other's words before she looks down at herself in the comfy sweater-gift. "Its like a blanket that I can take with me." She says, with her eyes raising back up to look back upon Lorna. "Its a big win. I'm gonna have it on for a--" She's cut off as she hears the 'Hey!' and the 'Southern Belle!' part, which makes her look over to the Doctor up to his evil deeds.

Sure, she may have a personal 'danger sense' that she also stole from Carol Danvers, but snowballs don't really induce a lot of fear in the Mississippi native, so she just lets it splat against her shoulder and dust her peacoat in white powder.

Aces, however, starts to bark at Doctor Snowcone for this outrageous attack against his owner. "Shhh. Its cool." Rogue says to her dog. "I'm gonna get HIM back for THAT. When he LEAST expects it!" She shouts back to Bobby then. Apparently one snowball wasn't enough to get the country of Roguenation into a snowpocalypse war...

Polaris has posed:
Lorna couldn't help but smile all the more for Rogue's words as the other woman came up to greet her. "I thought it was super soft too." She was clearly pleased to see her friend wearing her gift. She sipped at her hot chocolate, and was in the process of asking how Rogue was feeling, when Bobby's snowball crashed against Rogue's shoulder and splattered all over Lorna's front.

She blinked, looking down at her hot chocolate and happy to see that //it// had at least survived intact. Even if she was covered in a light powder of snow.

A grumble escaped her as Rogue whirled to shout at Bobby after calming the dog down. Before her own glance was angled for the dog at her side and Lorna bent to offer her hand out to be sniffed. "Hey, who's a good dog?" She gushed.

Iceman has posed:
"I think you're just chicken cause this is my element, Rogue!" Doctor Snocone calls back over at Rogue. He's a doctor. But when he sees that he hit Lorna at well, there's a redness in the man's cheeks not caused by the snow. "Sorry about that, you were uhm... err.. what's the word.. spalsh damage!" That works, right?

Though it seems that the two women are talking and surely Bobby would not interrupt that. Thats why there's a snowman that's sneaking up on the pair. Because you know. It's snow. And Bobby may not be that bright sometimes. Especially when it comes to the 'being cool' department. And that snowman? He has branch arms. Want to fetch the sticks, Aces? You know you wanna fetch the sticks!

In the meantime, the kids are starting to overwhelm his two original snowmen, so Bobby has to tear his concentration away to make a few more snowmen from the remains - these are smaller and start to move around. It's a new use of his powers. He normally tries to have direct control, and his eyes are narrowed, lips pressed together. The exertion is obvious as he's trying out the new stunt.

Rogue has posed:
"We're not supposed t'use our powers on each other around here, ya know!" Rogue shouted a little more back at Bobby. "All'a this counts as your mutation, ya punk!" She slips her phone away into her coat pocket and then kneels down to get some snow anyway and start to try to compact it into a ball. "Ah who'am I kiddin'. I'm gonna get him back right now..."

Aces, however, is engaging Lorna's offered hand and shoves his head underneath her hand to force her to pet the top of his head because he knows what he likes! But sadly it only lasts for a second or so before the German Shepherd glances over when Rogue crouches, then notices the Evil Snowman coming up on them all!

BARKBARKBARK!

Aces suddenly lunges away from the two women and rushes toward the Snowman to grab at one of its stick arms, all growly and protective!

Polaris has posed:
Lorna grinned and coo'ed over the shepherd, her free hand buried deep into the dog's fur as she scratched the top of his head with gusto. She was happy to stick with just petting the dog as she brushed off the remaining bits of snow from her coat and sipped at her hot chocolate. She was, at least for the moment, amused with the dog and ignoring the battle of snowmen vs students.

Even as Rogue hollered at Bobby across the way and went to start the attack, grabbing and making her own snowball, Lorna was happy where she was.

Until Aces started barking and jerked back to lunge at the sneaking snowman that came up behind the green haired mutant. Lorna twisted about, standing and glowering at the snowman first and then back at Bobby. "Right. A sneak attack? That's war Bobby."

Iceman has posed:
"It's not my powers if it snowed last night!" Bobby calls back at Rogue with a laugh. "That's like blaming Storm for a warm breeze!" Then he clears his throat to be all dramatic. "I mean, Doctor Snocone knows not of your silly rules! I am Doctor Snocone! I was a mild mannered doctor until I ate a radioactive shaved ice and gained all the powers of a Snowcone! Never trust the yellow snow, it's not lemon-lime!"

And he's still chasing after kids with his little snow golems, as Aces manages to get a hold of the snowman's arm and rips it off. "You disarmed my snowbeast!" Doctor Snocone laments over the lost limbs of his snowman.

And then Lorna's joining in. "I'll get you too, my lime-haired beauty!" Bobby crows, casting a wink at Lorna as he starts to make more snowballs to prepare to chuck.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue has to let go of the dog's leash to pack the snowball nice and good, but she trusts her dog well enough, she had paid to have him trained like a police dog while she was in NYC.

The dog aggressively snaps the stick in two and then lunges at the snowman snout-first to take it down! Seemingly unaware of it not being an actual 'living threat' but he's protective of the people around here.

Rogue rises back up and she spins around to track Doctor Snowcone, having a whole armload of ammo held against her torso now. She lines one up and throws it at blistering speed toward the man wearing the table cloth cape! "You're going down, Nurse Snowflake!"

Polaris has posed:
Lorna looked utterly torn between wanting to finish her hot chocolate, which was quickly becoming cold, or trying to chug it and finish it off. She sighed, the call to a snowball fight was a given now. She had to back up what she'd said after all. Particularly as Aces was downing his own sneaky snowman. Finally, she made her choice and downed the rest of the hot chocolate, just in time for Bobby to cackle like a bad super villain and nearly make her spit out the drink from laughter. She coughed, covering her mouth her hand as she choked back her laughter.

Finally, she set the cup aside, catching herself as she straightened up and dashed forward to grab up snow to make a snowball and hurriedly chuck it at Bobby directly.

Iceman has posed:
Just as Bobby was starting to get into the groove, here comes Rogue - and she has to take it all the way to ten.

The snowball comes rocketing at him and //SPLUT//, he's knocked off his perch and falls to the ground with a thump, only the thick layer of snow cushioning his fall. Coughing and wheezing, it takes him to catch his breath. "Hey! No Powers!" he starts to weakly protest.

That's what you get when you mess with a Belle with a million dollar arm and the legs to match. And then Lorna has to add on with her little snowball 'poomfing' against him.

"Fine, you want to play that way..." Rising to his feet, Bobby pushes the cape off of his shoulder dramatically. "It will take more than that to take me down!" he calls out and starts to wave his hands dramatically. "Now you will face my ultimate attack!"

Above him he starts to make a snowball. Bigger and bigger.

"Snow-me, chill-me, ha-me...." he starts to say as he makes dramatic flakes pulling into the snow, his other snowmen easily overrun by the kids thanks to the successful distraction.

Next time, on Snowball-Z, Doctor Snocone will unleash his ultimate attack on Rogue and Lorna.

You know, unless he's distracted.

Rogue has posed:
So Rogue's dog is attacking the left overs of a Snowman Golem that Bobby had created to attack she and Lorna while they weren't looking, and now Lorna and Rogue themselves--are throwing snowballs at Bobby... aka Doctor Snowcone. And a bunch of students are running around equally dispatching animated Snowmemn soldiers serving the evil Snowcone!

Rogue rushes behind a stone railing in the yard for cover. "This is ridiculous! I just want everyone t'know that!" She shouts in her thick southern flavored voice. "But still... we need someone with heat power out here t'counter this!"

Quicky she rises up and throws two more snowy-spheres at the evil Doctor. And yeah, she can throw better/faster than any Major League pitcher!

Polaris has posed:
As Bobby fell over under the weight of Rogue's mass of snow, Lorna floated away and up into the air. Cheating? Sure. But she wasn't //that// far off the ground. Mostly her feet were horribly cold and if she stayed on the ground they'd only get colder. She shivered in the air, and zipped over to where Rogue sought out cover behind the stone railings that too were covered in snow. She landed, and grabbed up more snow to pelt in Bobby's general direction.

"Yeah well, magnets aren't helpful against snow, or heat. So this is all I've got."

Iceman has posed:
"Chill-me, freeze-me, ice-meeee..." Bobby continues that intense building of a giant snowball, intent on squashing the Southern Belle! As for the kids - it's clear whose side they are on because they're all throwing snowballs at Bobby and laughing with glee as they all play around.

And then another Southern Snowball Express comes in from Rogue, hitting Bobby in the gut and there's a yelp before his concentration blanks out.

Falling over, his eyes widen. "Eep."

The giant snowball that he had created //FLUMPS// on him, covering Bobby beneath the massive mound in his own personal snowbank.

The remaining snow golems collapse, leaving only the snowy yard, and the kids cheering in victory for the two women.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue drops back behind the stone railing, causing some of the snow on it to tumble down onto her head and shoulders, mixing in with her wild white and brown hair that is held down by that wool cap she has on. Her eyes look up to Lorna floating and she grins at her. "You're gonna make yourself a target, Green Peace." She says at the Magnetic one. "Find a little piece a metal and put it in one'a the snowballs then aim it right for his nose." She then laughs, or cackles, and shakes her head. "I guess that'd be too mean."

Aces is running around the backyard now, barking at the kids fighting the remaining snowmen... and keeps barking as they give up and fall apart, he's running around with the kids now in seeming celebration!

Rogue hops up just in time to see Bobby get smooshed by his own giant snowball. And of course she starts to laaaaaaaugh it up! Quickly she runs over to where he got smooshed by the giant icey mess and she, for whatever reason, throws another snowball ontop of it. "Blamo!" She shouts at the pile, for good measure. "You're defeated, Doctah!"

Polaris has posed:
"What I trusted you to be air ground support." Lorna shrugged as she laughed softly under her breath as snow fell off the fence to dust them both in a light powder of snow. She shook out her hair, tucking her scarf up and over her chilled nose as she peered over the edge of the fence just in time to watch the snowmen collapse in on themselves and watch as Rogue hurled the snowball, catching Bobby and causing his own snowball to collapse on him. She blinked repeatedly, and leaped over the edge of the stone fence, gloves hand helping to vaunt her over as she half jumped over the snow drifts back toward Bobby.

"Aww, what a sad end for Doctor Snowcone." She teased, leaning over to help brush off the snow and offer Bobby a hand up.

Iceman has posed:
Smoooooooshed. That's what Bobby is. Don't panic Bobby, you can breathe, this is your element. Don't panic!

And there's a few flakes of snow. A little snowball rolls down the hill. And the mound moves. And grows and reforms. All of that snow that Bobby had pulled in earlier starts to shift and shape, and reform. That is until the snow parts, and Lorna is standing over him.

"But.. but..." Bobby says in a mock morose tone as he reaches to take Lorna's hand so that she can pull him up and gives a little mope.

"That waasn't even my final form."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue shakes her head side to side as Lorna helps the 'evil Doctor' up. "No way, Jose. You've been beaten down. No more 'forms'." And with that said she goes to retrieve the dog's leash and to take him back under control from rough housing with the kids who're still throwing snowballs at each other now.

"Is your arm okay?" She asks Bobby then, now with Aces back at her side happily panting away even though his fur is completely covered in snow. "I didn't know it could be... blasted off, and you could regrow them... Thats pretty, uh, cool? For lack of a bettah description."

Rogue is hit in the back with a snowball from one of the male students and she huffs. "Seriously?" She says over her shoulder as the kid runs away!

Polaris has posed:
A slow shake of her head followed as Lorna helped Bobby out and clapped off the remaining bits of snow off her jacket. "Well then this is the point in the show where the heroes offer the villian a chance to reform and learn from his ways and join them on an epic quest." She grinned at Bobby's moping figure. Her gaze swung toward Rogue as the other woman asked after Bobby's ability to regrow bits and pieces of him. She pursed her lips, her eyebrows furrowing as she turned green eyes back to him.

"You didn't tell me about that, what happened? How'd it happen?" She arched a brow, tilting her head to the side as she crossed her arms and tried to warm her hands by tucking them up and under her sleeves.

Iceman has posed:
When Rogue speaks up about what happened to him, Bobby tries to make desperate shushing motions, and then Lorna's looking at him, and the icy mutant reaches up to scrub at the back of his neck with his free hand. "Had to stay in ice form a little longer, but it's all right as rain!" he offers quickly, a slight squeak in his voice that brokers his own worry.

To Lorna, he turns and offers a quick smile that doesn't quite touch his eyes as he watches her. "You know, just.. discovered something new about my powers is all!" he offers quickly. "So, you can throw some awesome snowballs, Rogue! Glad you're doing better!"

Subject change deployed!

Rogue has posed:
"I always thought that that ice form was like... armor, overtop'a the rest'a you. I didn't realize you turn IN t'ice." Rogue replies to him then as she wipes the snow off of her back with her non-dog-leash holding gloved hand, shaking her coat out some as well.

"Well I'm glad it... uh, grew back, or whateve'ah ya call it. Thanks for comin' t'get me too. I didn't mean for anyone t'get themselves inta trouble on my account'n all... But hey, glad t'have backup. I may've been in a weird place if ya'll hadn't showed up."

She's not entirely sure what would've happened, its something she needs to talk about with Scott and Jean. Tell them all about what happened those past two weeks where she was MIA.

Rogue just smirks at the throwing snowballs skill as she starts to turn back toward the house. "Thats right, I got all manner'a skills people don't know about." And that is said in that classic Rogue'ish way, of being flirty and fun.

She raises her free hand up and waves at Bobby and Lorna. "See ya'll inside." And with that, she and Aces start back toward the house as that kid reappears and is about to throw another snowball at Rogue, but she starts to run at him, chasing him now back toward the mansion, with the dog bounding along as they go!

Polaris has posed:
A glance was spared for Rogue and Aces, Lorna's lips twitching briefly as the Southern belle trotted along inside. "Heat up some water! We need some hot chocolate soon." She called after her, glancing at the students still chucking snowballs all over. Her smile died however as she turned her focus back to Bobby as he attempted to change the subject rather abruptly. She pursed her lips, looking away to their feet instead.

"If you don't want to tell me, just say so Bobby. I'm not interested in chiding you or whatever you think I might do. I'd just like to know what I missed. What happened. No one's told me anything." She grimaced, looking back to him. It was clear that what well and truly bothered her was the lack of anyone telling her anything of what happened recently. Some because they had no idea, others because they didn't want to share.

It was frustrating.

Iceman has posed:
There's a momentary pause, and Bobby considers, before he lets out a sigh. "Come on, lets go inside, and I'll tell you about it over hot chocolate. With lots of marshmellows." He looks sufficently shamed, and he shrugs his shoulders. "Just you know, nothing I wanted to worry you with." he admits finally. "You have so much going on, and I'm not that big on the whole.. list of things that you have to do."

Polaris has posed:
A heavy sigh escaped Lorna, her shoulders deflating as she looked to Bobby as he spoke. There was a long pause, a deepening silence filled only with the sounds in the background from the students still chasing each other with snowballs. She held her silence for a long moment, her green eyes falling to Bobby's arm and back to meet his gaze evenly. She pursed her lips but nodded once.

"I worry more by not knowing what happened. I just want to know. I imagine things way worse you know." She made to follow him back inside, her humor and cheer lost. "I hate being left out on purpose Bobby. Even if it's for good reasons.."
