Location: New York City
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Blackout, Spider-Woman (Drew)

Blackout has posed:
It is a dark and stormy night. Or at least there's been a lot of rain in NYC for the past few days. As temperatures plummet in the winter months, NYC is often spared heavy snow until late January and into February. But wet and cold is still, wet and cold. At 11:47pm, the city is still quite alive with pedestrians, vehicle traffic, and typical noises that are a constant within the high-rise towers that dominate Manhattan. Car alarms are most prevalent. It seems that no one can adjust the sensitivity of their alarms which results in a strong wind setting it off. Most of the alarms are false. However, this time, this particular instance, there is an issue associated with the shrill sound of the whoop whoop whoop.

The scene is pretty simple. A sedan was speeding down a major street. A box truck pulled out in front of it and the sedan swerved to dodge the larger vehicle. Slick streets caused the sedan to careen out of control and slam into an enclosed bank, ATM access point.

The sedan is perched within the small 10x15 ft, well light room. The ATM machine itself has been critically damaged and is spraying out money into the small room. Making it rain. The driver of the sedan is still coming to his senses. The airbag deployed and his face is reddened from the smack of his face against that safety measure. The car alarm within the sedan screams in pain.

The box truck stopped half a block down the street, realizing that it caused an accident. It backed up to check on the damage. It's soon parked in the street in front of the ATM. Inside the truck are two Puerto Rican men who stare into the ATM seeing the money shooting all over the room. They contemplate leaping out of the truck to gather the free money. They hesitate. Perhaps too long.

In their hesitation, they allow for another to take advantage of the situation. A flash of green and yellow with diaphanous wings descends into the shattered room where the sedan and ATM are located. The costumed man lands and starts grabbing the free money. < http://tinyurl.com/y7crrpuy >

Known as the Fly, he's encountered Spider-Woman before. He's the typical nemesis of Spider-Man. He has super strength, heightened ability, heightened speed, chemical secretions, can fight really well, wall crawling, flight, and a vibration wave attack. Quite dangerous in his own right.

Off in the distance, police sirens can be heard.

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
Jessica was already nearby when the alarm sounded. She had /thought/ to get some Chinese takeout on her way home, but there was a disturbance in her path.

She saw the accident some blocks ahead. And there are, as yet, no first responders, so she dutifully calls 911 to report an accident with possible injuries. As she arrives, however, she notices the simultaneous arrival of a fly in the ointment. "Change of circumstances," she says into the phone. "Metahuman on the scene. Do NOT allow first responders to engage. Jessica Drew taking position for Avenger interception. I will assess the condition of the sedan occupant. I will engage Metahuman known as The Fly. He's rattling the wrong web this time. Please keep first responders back at least fifty yards."

Jessica pulls her hood from her pocket to monitor first responder chatter, slipping it on and dropping her clothes in a library receptacle. Now in her crimson gradient costume, with gold webbing and white gliding apparatus, she climbs up the side of an adjacent building and spreads her arms to glide down lightly onto the roof of the atm. From there, she'll use the access panel and slip down behind The Fly to further assess.

Blackout has posed:
This is 7 Mary 3 and 7 Mary 4 responding to the 132 in progress. ETA, less than 1 minute. And all the heroes know that a minute is an eternity during a super battle.

The occupants of the box truck see the arrival of the super villain. Their wide eyes relay their intentions as the passenger says go go go in Spanish. The driver puts it into drive and will push the accelerator to try and flee the scene.

Inside the sedan, the male driver is still dazed and confused. The airbag has deflated and the driver holds his face trying to get over the pain of the rapid inflation.

The cool air whips through Spider-Woman's hair as she glides down. When she reaches the roof access, enters behind him, he announces, "Spider-Woman. You know better than to try and sneak up on me."

Even though he's grabbing 20 dollar bills out of the air with incredible ease, he also belches out a huge amount of green noxious gas into the small (yet very ventillated) ATM booth.

The driver of the car is suddenly put at risk. As his windows are busted out and the gas will reach him quickly. Spider-Woman may be immune to toxins/poisons/venoms, but the driver is not.

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
"I don't care about you playing Cash Cube, Fly. But I am getting this man out of here so first responders can get to him." She switches off the radio scanner in her mask, and pulls it off, then hops down to the floor to swiftly pull the hood over the man's head. The filtration of her hood /should/ negate the effects of the gas until she can get the man out.

Blackout has posed:
The driver will be fine. Just having a few coughs while still being slightly dazed and confused.

Spider-Woman takes him outside and he looks to her asking, "Spider-Woman? What happened?"

Meanwhile inside the ATM booth. The Fly still grabs cash. Yet, still watches Spider-Woman out of the corner of one of his compound eyes and his 270 degrees vision.

Down the street, Spider-Woman may notice that the box truck is stopped within a few hundred feet. The back end is up. The rear wheels are unable to touch the ground as if its been lifted off the ground by something unseen beneath it. But there was no crash, no smash, or shattering of glass in the making of that situation.

The Fly calls out of the booth. Spider-Woman. You should take him to the hospital. The poison is potentially lethal for normals." Then he offers in a different tone. One of pseudo caring, "You know. Just looking out for the innocents and making sure no one dies on your watch."

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
"Not one is gonna die on my watch, but thanks for your generous concern," Jess calls back. She outs the driver on the ground and touches her comm as she strips her mask off him. "Maintain a 20 on the Fly, I need to check out that truck," she advises emergency responders as she hands off the driver to an emt.

Launching herself toward the truck, Jess makes a swift perch on the corner of a rooftop to observe the stare of the vehicle...along with what has caused it. Her mask is now in place again, so that she can overhear emergency channels and keep her comm clear.

Blackout has posed:
Emergency comms suggest that all first responders are still 1 minute to 30 seconds away. Police will arrive first. EMT/Fire will follow shortly after that.

The box truck has been lifted by a black wedge that is underneath the rear axle. The tires touch nothing and are lifted about 3 feet off the ground. The driver revs the engine, trying to gain traction. However, after a few seconds. The passenger opens the door and leaps out. He hits the ground hard. Not realizing that it was a little higher than he was used to. He falls.

Spider-Woman may also notice that the passenger struggles with something around his lower legs that suddenly binds him. More black, hard to see material. From her new angle, she will then also be able to see a man standing on the cab of the box truck. The box itself originally obscured her view. Now from the angle, she can see a familiar man who is dressed in all black waiting on the driver to try and escape next.

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
Jessica sighs. "What the hell are ya up to?" she mutters to herself as she watches the man atop the truck. She takes a chance, and leaps to glide down to the passenger and help him up. "You all right?" She asks him, and tries to usher him out of the street and to safety. "Get out; be careful, and follow your buddy," she calls through the open passenger door to the driver. "I'll get this sorted out." Then she looks to the roof of the truck cab.

"Long time no see," she chimes to the familiar man in black. "What are we dooooin'?" Her question is called out in a lighthearted, singsong fashion.

Blackout has posed:
Meanwhile; The Fly takes flight and flees upward into the sky quite fast. He worked the system quite well. Distracting the heroine so he could escape with the loot. He flies straight upward, his wings flitting and buzzing.

When Spider-Woman lands next to the passenger, she will see darkforce bindings around his legs.

Blackout turns and sees Spider-Woman. He says through his opaque mask, "Hey, just helping out. They were trying to flee the scene of an accident..." he gives pause, looks over the box of the truck back at the escaping Fly. Then he adds, "But uh. Wait. Am I helping out. Why didn't you stop the bad guy? Is there something I'm missing."

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
Jessica tries twice, in vain to stand the passenger up, but he keeps falling over. Then she notices the bindings. "D'oh crap, sorry fella..."

Then comes Blackout's answer. "Oh, thanks for your help!" Jess chirps, sounding extremely relieved. "What? Oh..." She looks back toward The Fly's escape. "So he is..." She blinks and looks back again. "Sonofa--" she shuffles her feet to turn and run, but trips over the truck passenger and falls onto her behind with a squeak. She sighs, pulling off her mask in frustration. "Ah welll...he only had, what, 45 seconds? How much could he have grabbed, right?" She grimaces.

Blackout has posed:
Ponch and John (motor police) roll up on their motorcycles and park. They dismount.

There are bystanders here and there, they have been watching as well as capturing the scene with their video phones. Fire/rescue is close behind.

Blackout leaps down off the cab of the box truck. He will approach Spider-Woman with an offered hand to help her up.. "Good to see you again."

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
Jessica takes Blackout's hand and scrambles to her feet. "Not....not my finest moment," she admits, her cheeks painted pink with embarrassment as the wind lifts and tousles her hair. "Good to see you, too. It's been way too long."

Blackout has posed:
Looking down the street at the motor cops and the approach of fire/rescue. Blackout replies, "And I don't even have to flee the scene. I'm legit now. How about I talk to the cops while you go check on that driver." <the sedan driver is sitting on the curb> Blackout continues, "And in about 10 minutes, we get out of here and talk about recent developments."

Ponch and John start to approach.

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
Overly-conscious of her "effect" on males, Jessica agrees quickly and makes haste toward the sedan driver before the motorcycle cops can get too close. She is upwind, after all.

She checks in with the driver, who seems to be a little rattled, but fine. He still has a bit of a cough, and two twenty dollar bills sticking out of one pocket. They must have blown out of the vestibule. Oh yeah, he's fine.

Blackout has posed:
Blackout shows the motor cops an ID and there's a brief conversation. Meanwhile, Fire/Rescue arrives and will take over for Spider-Woman. Blackout indicates something toward the box truck and will lead the police over to the two men that are partially restrained by the darkforce. Blackout removes the darkforce and the men are addressed by the police.

Blackout walks back over to Spider-Woman and says, "It's taken care of." He looks up at the nearby rooftop and says, "Rooftop?" - which is decently close to where she may have ditched her normal clothing.

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
"Library receptacle, " JD replies, nodding back toward a free-standing black mailbox-like structure a couple of blocks back. "I have a system," she says with a wink. "I learned my lesson with rooftops back when the wind caught my clothes and scattered them across two city blocks. I never DID find my pants..." She shrugs.

"You look well. It's been TOO long. Where's ya been hiding yourself lately, hmm?"

Blackout has posed:
"SHIELD." he responds as he opens a portal into the inky blackness of the darkforce dimension. Another portal will open next to the library recepticle those blocks away. He'll motion and indicates, "Library it is." as the destination of the aperature. He continues to talk as he steps through. "I was recruited into SHIELD's research division. Physics. It's kinda my thing and how I got my powers. They needed someone to help out in that department and by doing this, it helps clear my record."

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
"That's awesome news!" Jess hesitates a few seconds before stepping into the portal. Portals haven't been kind to her, lately. But with a deep breath, she steps inside and emerges by the receptical. Leaning down sideways a bit, she catches a tiny wire hook in the corner of the slot, and pulls. A length of thin webbing emerges, the end wrapped around a bundle of clothing. "Tadaaaa!" She half-grins. "We do what we have to, right? Also...I hadn't even heard you'd joined SHIELD. They must be keeping you their little secret for awhile. Can't blame them, not wanting to share, though. You're a valuable asset."

Blackout has posed:
"Stealthy... Like a Ninja. I snuck in." Blackout says in a bemused tone. He adds, "Really though. I'm just a tech, for now. They know about my powers and I even requested additional training for subversive departments in the future. But I think with my background, they're gonna keep me where they can see me for a long time. Till they think they can trust me - on a long leash. Either way, I'm just glad to be working again. And I get most nights and weekends off and benefits."

He watches her trickery with the recepticle and smiles behind the mask. Then realizes he's wearing the mask and removes it, but leaves a hoodie like affectation over his head - thus allowing her to see his face. "Great job."

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
Jessica presses her lips together in a bit of a frown as Blackout explains his situation, but her expression softens afterward. "Well, I'll definitely take it over the alternative," she replies. "I shudder to think what could've become of you without a position like this." She grins and nudges as she slips her dark brown leather blazer over her bodysuit, and then wraps her ankle-length skirt around her waist. "Counterintuitive, isn't it? Putting clothes ON in front of someone?" She laughs a little awkwardly.

Blackout has posed:
Blackout was listening to her commentary and watching her dress. Not even thinking about it as being awkward until she pointed it out. He says, "Oh crap, Sorry." and he turns his back to her.

Then he attempts to make a joke. "Which beggs the question. If a stripper is stripping all day at work; when she gets home, does she still think she's working when she takes off her clothes to get into the shower?" Then he sort of realizes that the joke may not be appropriate.

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
"Huh...Probably only if the shower tips her." She grins, and then groans. "Yeah I didn't have another hook, so I guess I'll be going back to the library when it opens, to claim my boots. My 'system' could use improvement," she observes, peering into the slot and squinting with a shrug. "It'll be fine for tonight, though. So what had you in the area? Something interesting?"

Blackout has posed:
"Wait.. what?" Blackout questions as he turns back around to see her peering into the slot. "You know I can get it out of there for you, right?" Here... He touches the recepticle and within a portal opens. Next to her, on her left, another portal opens just a few feet above the pavement and everything that was in the recepticle falls out onto the pavement. "Like that..."

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
"Wow," she comments, looking around and grabbing up her boots to slip them on. "You better be careful with THAT skill, or you'll have every fashionista in the area thinking you can summon shoes from nowhere. They'll never let you sleep." She grins teasingly. "Then again, you never know. They might pay more than SHIELD."

Blackout has posed:
"Well.. It's kinda how I used to make money." Blackout said with a slight hesitation in his voice. As it's pretty clear he can do that with any vault. His portals are quite useful.

Once she has her boots, he opens another portal, the other contents fall back into the recepticle.

He alters his own battle armor of darkforce into casual wear. What looks like black boots, black jeans, and a black hoodie over a black long sleeved t-shirt.

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
Jessica nods thoughtfully. "Well it's all behind ya now, yeah?" she offers with a smile. "So where were you headed before you were so rudely interrupted by a fleeing box truck? I'm sure it's bound to be more exciting than my life. I'm SUPER boring."

Blackout has posed:
Blackout, now Marc as he's in casual attire (that's still bulletproof), looks around to get his bearings. Then points down the street, "Sammy's. It's an Italian place. I live around here. Sammy's is pretty good. You hungry? I didn't quite make it to the eating part and I totally could."

Spider-Woman (Drew) has posed:
"Hmm...sounds good. I was on my way to get Chinese takeout, myself. I clearly...never made it." She laughs, but then shakes her head. "I was busy letting a villain get away." She mutters in frustration.

Blackout has posed:
He starts walking toward the restaurant in question. "Don't beat yourself up. You'll get him next time.", comments Marc before leading her to cross the street at a non intersection. Illegal often stays illegal, to some degree.
