Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Iceman, Polaris

Iceman has posed:
The Danger Room has been turned into an arctic wonderland. Large drifts of snow move about and mountains in the distance - with ice floes and the like. Usually Bobby would be knee deep in a training session, but instead for the moment he sits cross-legged in the middle of the room, concentrating. His eyes are closed, his body coated in a complete ice form. There are others that may have arranged to use the room for the day, but at the moment - he's in an open slot.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna had scheduled a visit to the Danger Room for training after the awkward-fest that was her night out with Bobby. It had been set for some time soon, ish. If she was ten minutes early, that wasn't necessarily her fault. After all, if you arrive on time, you're late--right? Such was what was drilled into her over her time spent in Genosha. Her days and night there were often filled with meetings, openings and appearances. After all, she had a public image to maintain there. She was Genosha's Princess. Here? She was a member of the X-men with far too much time suddenly on her hands.

The Danger Room felt like an obvious outlet for her energy and one where it would be safe for her to let loose in. At least, that had been her intent as she strolled up and typed in the passcode after noting that the room read occupied, but not actively engaged in combat simulations. It was a curious sort, and Lorna stepped up in her fully armed and armored suit. She hadn't really paid attention to the //who// in terms of the room being occupied, but rather strolled in, hoping for a dual training session. The door beeped and she climbed into a snowy land entire. She grimaced, looking around and picking her way over a snow drift. She stood out in an obvious way, a splash of green and black against the otherwise stark white out of the rest of the room.

"Er... sorry. It said you weren't engaged in anything combat and uhm.. I.."

Iceman has posed:
Snapped out of his thoughts, Bobby finds himself looking up towards Lorna, and the way she's clad. Underneath the ice, his cheeks may have darkened, but it's hard to tell. "It... it's okay. Was just.. you know.." he waves his hand around him and adds, "...chilling?"

"But if you need to practice, that's what this room is for. I can slide on out of here and make my way back so you can do your thing." Oh, the puns, they're bad tonight. He starts to raise his voice. "Danger Room, end simulation!" he calls out, bringing the arctic wastes to an end and leaving the pair of them standing alone in the room.

Polaris has posed:
A blink as the snow went out from under Lorna and the green hair woman lifted her frame upward in the magnetic fields around her. She turned her gaze back to Bobby, unable to //really// see his blush in his ice form. "Sorry to interrupt.. Were you meditating?" She asked, honest curiosity in her tone. "I picked it up in the last year or so. It's particularly helpful when I'm having a bad day." Her father had taught her that, to lose herself in the magnetic fields and to just become part of them mentally.. It was freeing while at the same time disorienting. She heaved a breath, her arms folding over her chest.

"Did you want to join me, I uh.. have a lot of energy that I need to work out."

Iceman has posed:
"I don't know if I'd be a very good partner, Lorna. I kinda lost control last night and caused some damage. I didn't mean to, but.. it seems I have a bit of a broken heart." Bobby offers a weak smile at that. "Seems I can pull myself together from everything but that." Chuckling, he tries to meet Lorna's eyes, but just can't. Because doing that would probably cause him to do something utterly foolish.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna had no idea what was going on in Bobby's head. Sure, it was awkward, he liked her and she did in fact like him.. But she still was processing those feelings. Her life wasn't in the Mansion anymore. It was a world away, and the idea of trying to get a member of the X-men to join her there.. where her //father// was King. Well, it was awkward all around. She couldn't ask that of anyone.

She shifted her stance, her lips twisting as she stood awkwardly there her boots clicking on the floor beneath her as she stepped hesitantly toward Bobby as he spoke of a broken heart. Her eyebrows creased in sympathy and she swallowed a hard lump in the back of her throat. "Bobby... I'm.. I'm sorry."

Iceman has posed:
"It's not your fault, Lorna. I should have spoken up sooner. But you know. You're so pretty. And just.. I'm just me." Bobby says with a shrug of his shoulders, as he hears the footstep, but isn't sure how to react to it just yet. Instead he tries to put his hands in his pockets. To do anything to keep him from facing her and ending up being completely honest with her.

He finally manages to lift his gaze just slightly. "I mean, you said it yesterday. You have Genosha, and your family, and I'd just be in the way." That part he added himself. He finds himself focusing on her mouth and throat and then towards her cheek. "Lorna, I..."

Polaris has posed:
A hesitant look crossed her expression, her brows furrowed and her lips half parted as she stared at Bobby opposite of her, separated by only a few steps now. Her hands had fallen to her sides and she stared at him with wide green eyes framed with long curls of green tumbling to her shoulders. She looked about ready to reach out to him, her hand out stretched in what was meant to be comforting.. before she realized it might not be taken as such and halted awkwardly. Her hand fell back and away to her side again.

"There's nothing wrong with who you are Bobby. Don't be so down on yourself." She murmured, "You wouldn't be in the way." She bit her lower lip, glancing away as her shoulders rose and fell.

"It's just.. My life is //crazy// even by X-men standards. I have obligations that mean I can't stay here.. If you'd wanted to try something long distance that.. it would be tricky. And I just.. people //know// me publicly Bobby. And that means, if you came to Genosha you'd be known publicly too and it... I don't want you to have to do that if it's not something you're entirely up for.."

Iceman has posed:
There's a moment of quiet, and Bobby chuckles. "You realize of all the X-Men, I'm one of the few that doesn't wear a mask, right?" he asks her, reaching up to push a hand through his brunette hair. He finds himself looking at her hand, and he pulls his hands from his pockets.

"Look, I know. You're a Princess. You have obligations. I mean, you'll probably even have to get married someday. And I doubt that your father would want you marrying a half-Catholic, half-Jew account that can make ice..." And then she has to keep on going.

"Lorna, I." And without saying another word, he steps up to her and places his hand against her cheek and then into her green hair, leaning up to kiss her. Firm and solidly against her mouth - at least when he finally commits into something, he does wholeheartedly. Including opening himself to being slapped.

Polaris has posed:
A roll of her eyes followed Bobby's words about not wearing a mask. "Yeah but you also turn into the world's most sentinet ice sculpture." She teased lightly, but quickly sobered as he continued on. "Actually, my father wouldn't dare try to tell me who I could or couldn't marry. Not with //his// track record if we're being honest. And I could do so much worse.. you're a mutant for starters.." She continued half to distract herself and the other half to try to ground out the reasons for why Magneto might not flip if his youngest daughter showed up with an X-man in tow when she returned to Genosha.

And then Bobby was //there// and his hand ran against her cheek and into her hair and he was //kissing// her and he was cold and smelled of a winter's wind. She only hesitated a minute before she returned his kiss, awkwardly and ill practiced as she was. She blushed furiously as she stepped back after a beat. Words were lost to her, and she exhaled a breath in a great and sudden woosh of air.

Iceman has posed:
She held that scent of magentism and warmth and Bobby lingers there, before he pulls back, and he's about the same color that she is currently showing in her cheeks as he lowers his hands. "Sorry." he finally manages to say.

After all, didn't they agree //not// to do what they just did. But he made the first move, and now she's left to figure out what to do herself. "Yeah, well, I'm a mutant and at the same time, I'm someone that's faced your father before. Though.. well, your brother helped us with something last night?" he asks her, that confidence that was just there faded for a second.

Polaris has posed:
As Bobby spoke some of her awkwardness faded and she blinked, reaching up to comb her fingers through her hair. "Yeah, well, a lot of people have. And a lot of people are also in awe of my father. Do you know how many people trail around him thinking he's a god and I'm his second coming? I've had way too many people fall down at my feet groveling.. My dating chances in Genosha are slim to none." She drawled, her voice teasing lightly, even as she fought the urge to break into a run and or possibly jump around. It was a noxious pit of wanting to do both all at once.

At the news of her brother, Lorna coughed, "Pietro said I should ask you out, actually.."

Iceman has posed:
"Well." Bobby rubs the back of his head. "Someone told me today that I should have to make the first move, if I know what I want." He reaches up to scrub at the back of his neck and then there's an awkward if somewhat flirty smile as his cheeks warmed.

"Though in the scheme of things I want to do with you right now, fighting is very low on the list.. Lorna.." he lifts his gaze to hers. "I've wanted to ask you to date me since the first time I saw you. And now it's practically begging to be said, and I'm not sure what to do."

Help.

Polaris has posed:
A fidget, and Lorna felt all at once far too shy to be standing there in the middle of the Danger Room with Bobby. Vaguely she wondered, how many times had the Danger Room seen or recorded Romance.. it was a school for gifted teenagers after all.. She shook the thought from her mind as she turned her focus back to what Bobby was saying. "Who? Don't tell me it was Pietro. Because that would so like him. Be all disapproving over Wanda, and giving Sam hell for looking at me twice, while trying to give dating advice." She muttered, her lips twisting. There was still a pink dusting against her cheeks.

As Bobby continued, she blinked repeatedly at him, and stared, her lips parting. "Really? Since then?" She seemed caught off guard entirely, unsure what to do with the information. She had feelings, sure, but she wasn't entirely sure what to make of them. She liked Bobby, but it was difficult to process just //how//.

"Uhm.. I'm.. uh not sure what to do.. Bobby.. how would this work? Are you going to stay here.. do long distance? Or .. or come to Genosha with me when I go back?"

Iceman has posed:
"I don't know." Bobby admits. And that's most frustrating part of it all. He considers Lorna, absolutely stunning with her green and blacks - and there he is, just as plain as a block of ice. "Actually, it was Jubilee." he says in response finally. "I guess I've been moping a little since I just.. I didn't think we have a chance, Lorna."

"And I don't know how this is going to work. We.. we should probably figure that out first." But really, even that isn't in his thoughts as compared to just stepping into her and kissing her again. Awkard and all. There's a step to her, and his nose presses against hers. "..I'm new to this. But.. I want this, Lorna Dane."

Polaris has posed:
A sigh dropped from Lorna's lips and she turned her gaze to her feet a shuffle of her boots followed against the floor of the Danger Room. Of course as he spoke about Jubilee telling him to make the first move, Lorna's gaze swung back to him, her eyebrows held high. "What? Really?" She shook her head in surprise, as it colored the tone of her voice ands he continued on about them not having a chance.

Anything further, logical or otherwise broke off as he stepped close to press his nose against her own. A chill creep over her at the contact. "Complications and all?" She whispered, her eyebrows pinched as she tilted her head back a hair to meet his gaze more evenly.

Iceman has posed:
"Yeah, really." Bobby responds. They're both confused but it seems that magnets do attract ice. As she shivers at the contact, though, there's a blink of concern. "Do.. yes, complications and all, Lorna." he finally agrees. Because it can't possibly get more complicated?

It can, but that doesn't matter at the moment. The fact that Lorna may actually like him back has Bobby completely gobsmacked at the moment and his heart races in his chest. "I need to show you something." he finally says, starting to step back from her and starts to remove his shirt. When he does, his left shoulder is a mess of skin, muscle tissue - and all bound together in ice. "This happened a few days ago. It's almost completely healed, but.."

Polaris has posed:
A twitch of her lips followed and Lorna flashed Bobby a small smile, it was shy, hesitant and unsure. Just like both of them at the moment. It suited. She exhaled a breath, how odd it was.. magnets and ice. Iron and snow fall. Still, she shook of her thoughts to focus on the here and now, on Bobby saying he'd accept her as she was, complications and all. Still, as he drew back and said he had to show her something she couldn't help but stare. And blush as he started to remove his shirt, "Bobby--" She started and stopped, glancing around before she realize it was the wound to his arm and shoulder that he was showing her.. Not stripping in the middle of the Danger Room.

She coughed, and leaned forward, her eyebrows furrowing sharply. "Is that what happened?"

Iceman has posed:
"Yeah. Shot shattered my shoulder. I stayed in ice from.. but when I got back here.." Bobby frowns. "And went back to flesh, it was like this. It was a lot worse, the whole thing was ice a few days ago. I.. I don't know how it happened." he says. And then he realizes that Lorna is staring at him shirtless and he blushes enough that it shows in his chest. "Ahem, sorry, I was just.. it was weird!" he says, moving quickly to try to pull his shirt back on.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna stepped forward and reached out a careful hand toward Bobby's wounded shoulder, her eyebrows furrowing as she considered it. Even before Bobby started to hurriedly put his shirt back on. "Did you get checked out in the medbay? What did they say? You know, in Genosha we have whole hospitals dedicated to mutants and mutations and injuries there.. If you wanted, we could get you checked out.. I mean, do you think that this is the same for all of you?" She stepped back, her hand falling away as Bobby put his shirt back on.

Iceman has posed:
"..yeah. They think it may have been a secondary mutation that was never triggered until recently." Bobby admits with a shake of his head. "You keep trying to take me to Genosha, Lorna." he says quietly, his cheeks flaring for a moment before he turns in to kiss her again. Soft and quick. But more confident this time.

"Maybe I should take you up on it. When do you want to go?"
