Tinyplot: Daughters of Daratar

Mon-El has posed:
The time is drawing near, for Gigas and his team to enter the arena and face the Alpha's current most powerful champion. No doubt the large challenge-seeker is eager to face a worthy foe in battle. As it would happen, Tyran'tar had been placed in the same bracket as well. The instructions the both of them have received would have told them to arrive a bit early to check in and then wait their turn. There is a particular entrance for the gladiators who have signed up. It seems his 'teammates' aren't anywhere in sight, though. At least not yet...

Still, the facility he has been assigned to must be the biggest one on Omega, and tonight it's -packed- with spectators. Unlike the many of the other structures around here, it's in absolutely pristine condition and has a lot of high-tech entertainment devices like massive holopanel displays and dancing lightshows for advertising. Seating to accommodate people of all shapes and sizes.

Star-Lord has posed:
It had taken the better part of the last few days for Peter to map the entire facility in and around the arena. With a Daxamite in play, Star-Lord wasn't taking any chances with discovery. The rest of the Guardians had been placed on standby in the crowd, waiting on Star-Lord to give them their plan of infiltration or attack. They didn't know how things were going to go down yet... so patience was the order of the day.

It took all of the tricks Peter had learned during his Ravager days. Covert and overt blending in, using hologram suits to pose as security, and plain old fashioned ducking into cover from security patrols.

By the time he was done, Star-Lord had a 3D map of this section of Omega, and was running through ideas in his head as he waited for the the other group that Ember had told him about.

Gigas would recognize the Guardian leader near the entry. He's not trying to blend into the crowd as he leans against the wall just inside the entry.

Gigas has posed:
It seems that Gigas does indeed recognize Star-Lord. It's been some time since he first encountered him on Knowhere and since then Gigas himself vanished from galactic play for a passage of time ..but now the galactic strongman is back and his approach is heralded by a literal quaking of the ground that rumbles in time with the impact of his enormous feet.

"Hello!" he booms as he bears down on Star Lord. He doesn't seem the least bit surprised to see him. "So..it seems the information is true. We have ourselves a captive Daxamite Prince to rescue by means of beating him to a bloody pulp? Do not fear, I have no interest in killing him. We have fought before, you see though over a dispute related to a job I had."

Gigas waves a massive hand dismissivel, "I am hear to rescue two kidnapped princesses. You may have your Daxamite as long as it does not interfere in my mission.."

Tyran'tar has posed:
Tyran'tar makes his way to the entry, flying through the air. "Hello." He says as he lands next to quill and gigas. "So we all are fighting a captive daxamite?" He asks. He is wearing his tamaranean military uniform with a green ring on his finger. He then looks to quill. "Star-lord. Didnt know rescuing daxamites was on your schedule." He says as he looks around. "So whats the plan?" He asks between the two and looks out towards the arena.

Star-Lord has posed:
When Gigas shows up, Peter gives a look over for the mountainous alien. Then, a charming smile comes to the Guardians' face. "Seems like we have common interests then. I'm more interested in getting him out from under the thumb of whoever it is that controls him out here. Having a near Kryptonian enforcer to deal with later isn't on my list of priorities." He gives a dismissive wave of his own, though this one has some charm to it, "We came here for the kidnappings ourselves. I'd be happy to split the bounty with you, if you're not looking to turn this into a giant mess." When Tyran'tar floats over though... Peters eyes squint just slightly in suspicion.

It isn't often you see a Green Lantern in dives like these after all... they tend to avoid the underworld centers for good reason, "What's the Green Lantern interest in this? I thought you guys didn't do bounties." He sits up from the wall, looking ready to bolt.

Gigas has posed:
"He has a habit of just butting in uninvited." explains Gigas to Star-Lord as Tyran'tar arrives. It seems the colossus has some familiarity with the Lantern. He seems displeased but he's not exactly chasing him off either and he adds, "He is just here to 'help', yes? These ones who run Omega have their hands in much by way of..less then legal behavior."

He does wrinkles his nose though and grows mildly perturbed at the idea of splitting any of the bounty. His chest swells as he takes a deep breath but he then just lets his shoulders slump. "We will..discuss how to split the bounty, yes. Hrn..to many tag alongs. This was not supposed to be so..crowded.."

Mon-El has posed:
After the combatants have registered and/or checked in, they would be instructed to all gather in a fairly posh-looking waiting room, with videopanes to entertain while they wait, as well as reading material. The walls are lighted with a soft blue hue--it's all very attractive looking design-wise. There are quite a few others in here, though it isn't so packed that it's uncomfortable.

On the wall, there is a status screen of sorts with a list of combatants and their teams. It seems that for now, Ember and Aphrodite have been tagged as no-shows, and have been replaced by Tyran'tar on Gigas' team roster. Apparently he's enough to make up for both of them, for whatever reason. At any rate they're not here to argue that right now.

Tyran'tar has posed:
"The Lanterns arent interested. I just felt like trying to help Lar. No way he is doing this willingly." Tyran'tar says. "So I figured a little help wouldnt be turned down. I dont care about any bounty." Tyran'tar says as he follows them. When it becomes clear he is on their team, he nods. "So whats the plan?" He asks again.

Star-Lord has posed:
A purse of his lips makes it clear that Gigas' response to the idea of splitting the bounty doesn't fill him with confidence... but at this point, he just shrugs. Two chips are taken out of a pouch, placed in a dataslot on his wrist computer, and pulled back out. Both are handed to the two, "scouting information for this area. There are some places I couldn't get into without setting off alarms and needing backup, but I'm hoping to handle that when Lar is busy with the arena. The plan is to sweep the high security areas and lock down resistance so they can't call for help from their enforcer."

"Any objections?" Star-Lord asks.

Gigas has posed:
"None here. I have no objections to any methods you see fit to save your friend." espouses Gigas. He seems altruistic enough on this matter, despite any rumor or reputation about him. He seems affable enough at the moment.

After accepting the chips and being escorted to the new location..he pauses and looks around and takes note of the official replacement of his previous hitch hikers. Ember, he figures, is around and doing her own actions relevant to these events. Aphrodite seemed like...more trouble then was worth it, honestly. He then turns towards Tyran'tar and rumbles, "Are you certain you are capable of an intense battle like this? Illegal racers on a dangerous world..this is is not.."

Tyran'tar has posed:
"Before I got a power ring, I fought a war against the citadel. We lost because Kormand'r, the ruler of our planet, gave them our defenses and sold her sister into slavery. I am not a stranger to intense fighting." Tyran'tar says as he looks to Star-lord and takes the chip. he scans the chip with his ring and uploads its data into its computer. "Do we know if LAr is on his own cognizant? Is he under any type of mind control devices to keep him complacent?" He asks curiously.

Mon-El has posed:
There's a soft chime, and a roar of applause and catcalling from outside in the grandstands. The list moves, and the team names shift upward, pushing Gigas' group to the top of the list. Along one wall of the waiting room are a series of windows that look out into another hallway, at the of end of which is another door to the arena that must be an exit only. The doors slide open suddenly and another group of aliens is brought in--on gurneys. Yeah they...are definitely -not- in good shape.

After a few moments, another one of those Alpha mechs approaches them. "Greetings Gigas and team. Are you ready to face the champion?" Upon seeing Star-Lord standing with them, it inquires, "Will you be joining them, sir?"

Star-Lord has posed:
"I won't be." Star-Lord confirms to the mech, before he turns and starts to walk off. Giving a wave as he goes, "Good luck!" Peter offers as he disappears into the crowd.

Once out of sight, he moves into position to head for the nearest security door. He taps the commlink on his ear implant around this time, opening a channel to the rest of the Guardians, "On my mark, I need the entire arena locked down and security disabled or killed. I'm going to have the entire place swarm on top of me once I start hacking in."

Tyran'tar has posed:
Tyran'tar watches the man on the gurney and he looks to Gigas. "Daxamites have a weakness to lead. Makes them sick if exposed to them too much." Tyran'tar says to Gigas as he then looks to the arena if he can see it. "So you ready?" He asks gigas.

Sindr has posed:
Sindr arrives with a *FWOOSH*. Running behind, it seems, for whatever reason. With zero prelude, she simply states, "I was unable to locate our other companion, and Midgard was another matter entirely. So, we have none to free this Daxamite from mind control at the moment. Maybe after being rendered helpless."

Gigas has posed:
The behemoth present gives no answer to Tyran'tar at the explanation from The Lantern..but he also stops questioning him as well so it seems that the answer was good enough for him. Gigas says nothing else, although he does squint his eyes as those on the gurney are wheeled by. He frowns and then turns to their host, impatiently, "Yes, yes. Let us begin." 'Ember' arrives right on time as well and Gigas nods to her quickly.

Mon-El has posed:
The mech recognizes that Star-Lord will not be joining them, just nodding a bit. When Gigas signals that he is ready and Ember finally arrives, it quickly edits the roster to include her, and the list updates in real-time. "Excellent. Ember, we are pleased that you finally made it. Follow me."

It would lead the three of them out into the arena. It is quite large, easily the size of two football fields and surrounded by grandstands that are filled to the brim with excited spectators who are eager to see if this next group might even come close to defeating this Daxamite, unlike the -last- group, who hadn't lasted more than a mere few minutes.

The roar of the crowd is almost deafening as they see the new contestants arrive. The voice of a commentator booms over the sound system. "And here we have it folks: Team Gigas!! Wow, would you -look- at the size of that guy! This should be interesting!"

Lar himself is already out there, hovering slightly above some of the 'environmental hazards' that are strewn about the fighting ground, that consist of a series of floating platforms and electrified posts that move up and down or oscillate back and forth. He has a rather vacant expression on his face, as if there is no one home, despite all of the noise and energy in here.

Tyran'tar has posed:
"Seems we will need to overpower him. I can probably create a shield which doesnt let in solar radiation. Still going to need a great deal of power to overpower him, if he has been absorbing solar energy all this time." Tyran'tar says. He then nods to 'Ember' He then makes his way towards the arena with gigas. "Your call, Gigas."

Star-Lord has posed:
It's around the time the announcer starts that Star-Lord gets to work. The hologram suit he knows will get him to the security room and in without a problem is activated... and he just walks right over and in. He hasn't been able to really give the security hub a once over, so this is the perfect time for it, since Lar isn't being used there.

Which means that if there are others inside, he can likely deal with them himself.

Gigas has posed:
"I am no strategist, nor did I ask either of you to be on this team. Just stay out of my way so you do not get caught in my own actions. I have fought him before but this time I will have to not hold back. I suspect he wont' either. He can be on you in the blink of an eye and strike you hard enough to split a capitol ship in half so stay alive until our Star-Lord is able to execute his plan." responds Gigas, making it clear he's little intention of calling shots or really worrying about their well being. At least that's the act he puts on.

The swelling of his muscles and a crackle of energy around his body seems to further embody this though. From eleven feet to twelve..thirteen..fourteen.. His body becomes increasingly outrageous, his muscles growing more and more insanely hypertrophic as he strides forward. Fifteen feet and then sixteen feet.. he raises a massive arm skyward and then brings it down into a single flex, launching a bicep the size of a small transport into action, his muscle fibers audible as they stretch and creak and his masses fight for space on his form. It's less for Mon-El who is clearly not home and more to try and get the crowd more on their 'side' - to hopefully distract the Alpha's as well if they can get the audience to side with them.

"Try to keep up." he rumbles as he turns from side to side to let them get a good look at his physique.

Tyran'tar has posed:
"Charming." Tyran'tar says in response to Gigas and he nods to Ember. He then raises his hand into the air and the ring glows green as a massive green energy barrier forms around the arena, the intent is to keep Solar radiation from entering the arena. Thankfully his own solar charge was full. Thankfully the barrier was see through so the fans wont miss a single part of the fight, though now it is in shades of green. It is then his military uniform changes to his green lantern uniform and he forms a construct spear.

Sindr has posed:
Sindr chuckles, and side-murmurs over to Tyran'tar, "You know, he's really starting to grow on me." all sorts of amused at Gigas' remarks. Now is when she gives her plan, "Largely, I think you and I should stay out of the way and distract the Daxamite at critical moments. Just be mindful you don't distract him too much; his attention needs to stay on Gigas."

There's a distinct pause when the shield pops up. "Hnh." she says, "Interesting." and that's all she'll say about that. For her part, she stands off to the side, far enough away from Gigas that she's well outside his reach, and probably less of a target as a result.

Mon-El has posed:
All of Star-Lord recon work over the past few days has paid off, it seems. The holo-suit easily gets him into the security room that he'd previously scoped out. This time, there are two of those mechanoid beings he'd seen in the waiting room. They are silvery colored, with dragonfly-looking wings that they hover around with. When he enters, they glance at him but figure he must just been one of the server maintenance workers. Just as before, the various panels show different views of the arena and surrounding grandstands, and he can hear the commentator's voice still booming.

As Gigas grows, the crowds roar even more, and the commentator gasps. "Whoa, just -whoa-! And we thought he was big -before-! Amazing! Folks, I don't think I've ever even SEEN a guy that big before! And--hot damn! Looks like we got ourselves a Lantern! Friends, this is shaping up to be the fight of the night!! Well then, let's get this party STARTED!"

Suddenly, a countdown clock appears on all the massive holoscreens floating above the grandstands, and the audience starts counting down with it as they pound on the stands to create the drumroll effect.

"...FIVE...FOUR...THREE...TWO...ONE...FIGHT!" At that, a loud buzzer sounds and the Daxamite flies at them!

Star-Lord has posed:
He'd brought along an EMP pistol just in case of technological threats, and Star-Lord casually walks up to both of them, and casually fires it into the back of their heads and torsos, attempting to short them out in quick succession.

If he can't get them with EMP, he'll pull out his element guns and turn them into ice cubes instead.

Either way, he wants total control of security. Good chance he'll find the princesses on the cameras and a control for Lar in here. If not? He'll just loop the whole system and find them the hard way.

Gigas has posed:
"I -do- have a charming personality. See?" rumbles Gigas as he overhears Tyran'tar and Sindr. He grins at them both but then turns his monument sized physique forward as the countdown begins. The time for banter seems to be over as once Mon-El blurs into action, Gigas does much the same. HIs leg muscles push out against his leggings like bas relief and then an instant later he's sprung, a shockwave rippling out away from him that threatens to buckle the ground while he hurtles like an incoming meteor towards the diving Mon-El.

His arm cocks back as he hurtles, a boulder like fist clenching and his muscles seemingly enlarging even -more-. Now Mon-El has the advantage of..well..being able to fly..but Gigas' leaping can carry him across countries and he hopes that Mon-El's aggression will focus him on Gigas himself and not his partners. Either way, an airborn collission between the two is preferable to him slamming into Mon-El between the Lantern and Ember. Seems like he does care after all!

Tyran'tar has posed:
Tyran'tar throws the spear at Mon-el and forms another construct in his hand, this one of a blaster rifle. Tamaranean design, he aims down the barrel and fires at the daxamite, while also avoiding Gigas. "Doubtful anything I can make can hit hard enough to do damage, but with the barrier blocking his solar abilities, it should wear him down." He says to Ember as he remains with her and keeps firing at Mon-el from a distance.

Sindr has posed:
One /might/ have guessed, given the hair and eyes and so on, that 'Ember' wielded fire powers and they would have been correct! And now is the time she reveals this very fact! First, there is a small dart of fire flung in the direction that Gigas is heading, aimed for where she supposes the collision point will be and calculated to strike the Daxamite. That distraction she mentioned.

Right after this, she brings up a wedge shaped construct of flame interposed between herself and said collision point; one might think this a flimsy construct, but it is as solid as any material thing and designed to protect her from the shock wave. She's no weakling, but neither does she intend to be flung across the arena by two powerhouses punching each other. Pff. As if. Since Tyran'tar is close, she makes it large enough to protect the both of them.

Groot has posed:
Groot sits in the audience, pulling his size down quite a bit, since he wants to appear not threatening. Threatening is for later. He is not really a fan of violence though he does enjoy theatrics and athleticism so he tries not to judge the people around him....too harshly.

Mon-El has posed:
The EMP pistol hits one of them right in the face. Electricity arcs over its body, and it convulses and collapses to the floor. The other one turns, but before it can do anything, Quill has already nailed it with the same. It also collapses to the floor, and Star-Lord now has control of the security room--that is, until someone else comes in here wondering what's going on. Well, if he can figure out how to operate it. It's easy enough to find the camera switching function in order to flip through the various feeds, but it seems this system only covers the arena, and the princesses are nowhere to be seen.

However, there -is- something in here that looks...sort of out of place? It seems that most of the stuff in here is very tech-oriented, on par for these robotic Alpha people, sure. But this little spherical orb of light is just sort of floating in this containment field off to one side of the room and glowing with strange runes and a psychedelic array of colors. The field appears to be powered by a generator as per usual, and is connected to the mainframe.

Meanwhile, the fight begins outside on the arena floor, and the crowds roar with excitement when the buzzer sounds. Gigas is immediately off toward the flying Daxamite, fist raised high, the Lantern throwing spears and shooting guns, and Sindr hurling fire. Lar and Gigas meet at the collision point, causing a massive shockwave as Lar brings both fists to bear in an attempt to slam Gigas into the ground even as he is thrust upward into the shield. It's a good thing Sindr put up that barrier, because there's no protection on the battleground, here, only for the grandstands! As expected, the projectiles don't really do much damage, but they do cause a bit of a distraction, causing a delayed reaction from Lar so that he is not able to recover as quickly as usual after being flung into that green barrier. Which does come in handy, given how fast he can be.

Groot has posed:
Groot quietly whispers into his mike, "I am Groot?" He is worried for his friend but isn't going to make a move until he has to. Still, this seems a bigger gig than they often try or at least HAVE tried in a while. He munches popcorn.

Star-Lord has posed:
"I'm not an expert, but that looks important." Peter quips to himself as the orb of light gets his attention. Noting the room and highlighting it on his map, Peter instead turns back around and heads right back out of the hub, heading for the room with the orb. When Groot comes over the commlink, Peter hits transmit, "Just got control of the hub. I'm checking out a lead now. I'll let you all know when I need the distraction."

Gigas has posed:
Speed overcomes reach and the double fisted impact of Mon-El manages to slam home into Gigas before he can bring his full immensity and strength to bear on the Daxamite. His own strike lands, but he himself is redirectd as opposed to continuing onward as originally intended. Mon-El may go hurtling away from him but Gigas himself tumbles off into an almost pin wheel like flight towards the opposite side of the arena battle zone where he impacts against a wall, producing enough force to likely trigger seismic-warning sensors as his body gets embedded in a Gigas shaped imprint.

"Hmm.." he rumbles - which is probably not the usual reaction the crowd is used to seeing from someone struck by the Daxamite. Instead, the behemoth seems more intrigued as he reaches up to rub his jaw thoughtfully and then begins peeling himself out of the imprint like some sort monster sized cookie. "..Perhaps that could have broken a mountain.." he assess with an impressed sounding inflection to his deep voice.

He then springs forward, rebounding from the wall to try and clear the distance towards where Mon-El is before the Daxamite can recover from the distraction being caused by Sindr and Tyran'tars cover fire.

Sindr has posed:
Cover fire is rather apt for what Sindr's doing now. While she's not actually trying to protect Gigas from Lar, she /is/ attempting to restrict the daxamite's options. In all seriousness, when 'copious' is used in relation to the torrent of fire she unleashes, that's probably a bit of an understatement. Flaming lances are flung in rapid succession, creating an obvious hazard zone that leaves a very clear path between Gigas and Lar. Going anywhere else but head on is likely folly if one doesn't want burned.

"Your turn to shield us, right before the moment of impact." she suggests to Tyran'tar, the better for her to focus on battlefield control and keep Lar's attention where it belongs; right on their bruiser, Gigas.

Tyran'tar has posed:
Tyran'tar nods as he fires some more shots at Lar before creating a forcefield barrier to shield them from the impact of the two beings slamming into each other. He then uses his ring to create a forcefield around himself and Sindr to keep them protected. They have to remain close and he has no problem then remaining close to the woman who has hair made of fire.

Mon-El has posed:
As Star-Lord gets closer to the strange little sphere, he can tell that it actually looks very ethereal, like it's made out of runes of light. But it's not a hologram, he likely knows enough about technology that he can ascertain that much. The field around it though, is definitely just tech, and is connected to a terminal. Could it be that this is some sort of...strange union of magic and technology?

Outside, the audience goes wild when Lar is thrown upward and Gigas carves the floor. This arena was built to take quite a beating without even getting so much as scratched, but geez, the Alpha might actually have to shell out some money for repairs this time around. What's more, the big blue man doesn't seem to even be fazed in the slightest. He may or may not catch on the fact that enough people are chanting his name for it to be audible to those on the arena floor. "GI-GAS! GI-GAS! GI-GAS!"

As Gigas rises to his feet and launches himself off of the wall, Lar recovers himself seconds before Gigas can reach him and flies straight up in the air, since Sindr and Tyran'tar have made attempting a flank not very desirable. This time, he lets loose with thermal vision--and with the hit he just took, he's not holding back, either, though it isn't likely to stop the behemoth from reaching him.

Mon-El has posed:
As Groot is sitting there munching on popcorn, some insectoid-looking alien walks up and rudely tries to steal the snack from him, making a nasty hissing noise.

Groot has posed:
Groot is simply not that easy to bully, especially since he quietly reverts all the popcorn immediately not visible into shells...and bitter tasting ones that. He is here to provide a distraction and a distraction he will provide. Now, he MIGHT reach all the way around several rows to wherever that alien is sitting to provide that distraction, LATER but Groot is very patient.

Star-Lord has posed:
Union of technology and magic? Oh look, something that probably is going to be fun to blow up.

He takes one of his room sized bombs out of his pouch, and slaps it onto the console. He sets the timer for thirty seconds, and activates it. As he walks away and put into the corridor, he slaps a spy camera against the wall so he can watch the room via his helmet... and hits the commlink for the general channel, "So I'm about to cause some commotion in about thirty seconds. Use your best judgment on how to react." Peter states, vaguely, before he starts heading to the nearest security locked door he found on his scouting run.

Hopefully, that'll get some attention before he starts hacking his way through the doors.

Gigas has posed:
The Blue Giant indeed hears the crowds and is no stranger to the gladitorial style arena. He knows that is important to get the crowd on your side and he's well suited to showboating and making a scene. He lands, streteches his arms wide and beckons with both of his upraised arms, egging the crowd on in their name chanting before bringing both of his limbs up into a monstrous double bicep pose and emitting a thunderous roar from his open mouth that shakes the air, followed by a loud and simple, "YEAH!!!" He might be enjoying this a -tad- to much...

He's swiftly reminded of -why- they are all hear as Mon-El launches skyward. He breaks into a run, attempting to clear the distance..but then the thermal vision assault lances down at him. There's a look of consternation that ripples across Gigas features, followed by gritted teeth as the vision burns into him, scorching his flesh and forcing him to raise a massive hand up to push back against it - redirecting it in a violent flowering of energy beams. It seems the huge man is more fond of physical fist-trading then dealing with such concentrated blasts.

With his free arm he gestures at Tyran'tar and Ember, attempting to signal them to use their influence to try and force Mon-El down to him.

Groot has posed:
Groot grins widely. Well that was perfectly timed. Growing large, and in charge, his eyes grow wider as he roars, "I AM GROOT" and picks the alien up with tendrils (assuming he's not one really really dextrous little fellow) and tosses him like a dwarf into the large Rhinoid he saw two aisles up and six rows across next to two or three of the most disagreeable species in the sector.

Sindr has posed:
Sindr launches what looks like another of those small daggers, but it doesn't fly AT Lar so much as it flies PAST him. Heck, at the end of it's arc, it even hooks in a bit, putting Lar between it and the blue behemoth. Without so much as a smile, a frown, or even a hint of what's about to come, 'Ember' snaps her fingers.

*FFFF-BOOOOMMMMM!!!!*

That tiny little dagger erupts into a blast of concussive fire that is deceptively powerful for such a little tiny dagger thing. It's like there was magic involved. Like maybe 'Ember' has some serious mojo when it comes to fire. Like maybe there's more to her than it seems. But hey, this is Omega. There's twenty people like that just around the corner, right?

Anyway, she hopes that's enough to 'encourage' (read, blast) Lar out of the sky.

Tyran'tar has posed:
Tyran'tar grunts as he forms a massive hammer construct with four rocket engines on one side. Activating the rockets and causing the hammer to spin, he spins faster and faster until finally smashing the construct right into LAr to try and drive him down towards Gigas, grunting as he expects the construct to break, so expects that psychic backlash.

Mon-El has posed:
As Quill makes his way out of the room, he notices another one of those flying mechs headed in there right after he places the camera on the wall. Uh-oh, too soon!

Gigas' own energy meets Lar's in midair, and the blasts deflect off of each other, slamming into Tyran'tar's shield instead. It has got to have taken a serious amount of strain by now! Through both Ember's and the Lanterns' combined efforts, they manage to knock him out of the air, and he tumbles to the arena floor. Getting back up, he seems to have switched targets. Instead of heading for Gigas this time, he flies at Sindr, attempting to slam her into the Tamaranean's shield. Hey, that fire wasn't just any fire! It actually hurt! Which means that magic must be involved. And Lar doesn't -like- magic.

Meanwhile, Groot has managed to start a brawl in the grandstand, at least in his section. The group of rowdy aliens who just got a giant bug deposited on them are none too happy with either tree or the bug. The rhinoid growls and grabs the insectoid right as he seems to curl up into a ball just like a rolly poly, throwing him straight at Groot.

Star-Lord has posed:
"Hey A-hole, I got a present for ya!" Star-Lord exclaims, right before he pulls out one of his element guns and fires a stream of incredible hot flame right at the mech. Easily enough to start melting it on contact. Right around the time the bomb is set to go off, he hits the shield belt the Brainiac gave him, turning it on.

Time to see how well it works!

Gigas has posed:
"Huh??" Well that didn't work quite the way Gigas imagined it working but rarely do things go 'as planned'. "Hey! Come back here!!"

With the energy onslaught over, he shakes his hand, trailing somke from its raw flesh..and then he takes off into a sprinting leap that rockets him skywards and forward in pursuit of Mon-El as he hurtles at Sindr.

As his body reaches the apex of his leap, he brings his legs up - and then upon plummeting back towards the arena floor, pistons them downward in an epic stomp that upon impact craters the combat zone around him and then explodes the earth upwards and outwards in a rippling shockwave as if a massive ship had just landed and exploded right in the arena. The earth buckles and shakes as the shockwave rips out away from him in all directions, including in pursuit of the charging Daxamite, far faster then Gigas own leaping can manage. Sadly it may put Ember and Tyran'tar in the blast zone as well but..that's what makes it exciting! At least if you were to ask Gigas, 'What the heck, dude?'

Either way, the shockwave is incoming, the very earth cresting like a rolling wave.

Groot has posed:
Groot would have reacted differntly had he never been to Earth. As it is, he knows precisely what to do and forms a large wooden baseball bat on his head, extends one arm into a bat and SWINGS at the ball being sent his way, ready to return the favor. Swingbattabatta! "I am Groot!" And....then gets knocked down by a titanic shockwave....rooting himself to the floor for a moment and trying to get back up.

Tyran'tar has posed:
Tyran'tar flies for Sindr as quickly as he could and forms a strong energy barrier bubble around him and Sindr, hopefully it will be enough to withstand the shockwave and maybe a blow or two from Lar but thats being generous and he knows it. Still he puts his focus into it. "In Brightest day....In blackest night...No evil escapes my sight....LEt those who worship evil's might, beware my power, GREEN LANTERNS LIGHT!" HE yells out to resolve himself.

Sindr has posed:
Sindr actually smirks. "Predictable." she says, another flame blossoming in her hand; she's not entirely weak as she is, she has the benefit of Tyran'tar's shield, and in the chaos of the moment, with Gigas' earthen shockwave coming at them...

*FFF-BOOOOMMMM!!!!*

Another fiery explosion goes off leaving the daxamite hurtling right for it, with Gigas' assault right on his heels.

Tyran'tar will probably need all the Will and Resolve he can muster, because neither of his companions are fighting nice. Rather ruthless, actually.

Mon-El has posed:
The mech bleeps as it turns around, and suddenly gets a faceful of fire that partially melts its armor. There's a screech and suddenly all the other machines that happened to be in the hallway at the same time, which was about a dozen of them, have turned their weapons on him. But fortunately for Peter, he has Brainiac's shield right now, so when the room blows, the fiery inferno that results consumes his enemies but merely swirls around him, unable to pass through that shield.

At the same time, Tyran'tar's shields are surely taking a serious beating. First, that shockwave ripples out from the center hitting everything and everyone on the arena floor, and then Lar rockets at Sindr. He attempts to throw her into one of those electrified posts as it pops out of a wall before the fire hits him head on, searing him and causing him to stagger backward in pain, he seems to teeter for a few seconds, and then finally flop foward and faceplant onto the ruined floor. He...doesn't get back up. The crowd is flabberghasted. Wait, what?! They'd seen him take more punishment than -that- before! Regardless, the countdown to a KO starts. 10..9...8...7...6..5...and he still hasn't gotten up!

The rhinoid ignores Groot's baseball reference and roars angrily, ducking the flying roly polly and charging straight at him.

Star-Lord has posed:
"Are you serious? That's-ohshit!" Star-Lord didn't expect the mechs to have that much self awareness, and dives for cover behind the nearest crate just as the weapons fire starts.

Well, he would have dived to cover, except the shockwave from the explosion sent him flying on it's own. "Ohshh-"

Luckily, Peter was quick thinking, and was already hitting the activation switch for his Jetboots. It takes a moment for him to orient himself, but he's an expert flyer by now, and activates his helmet. "I'm going to need that distraction a bit early. Turns out these bots have a hive mind. Guardians and friends, lock down the thugs as best you can."

Abandoning all attempts at stealth, Star-Lord starts to fly down corridors, his element guns out and ready to fire Earthen sledgehammers or molten flame as needed.

Gigas has posed:
"Hmm..." rumbles Gigas as he emerges from the crater caused by his stomp and begins to approach Mon-El. When it's clear the Daxamite isn';t getting up, he nods though it is a mix of satisfaction and disappointment. He really only got one good punch in.. but that also means that he knows that the Daxamite can take far more punishment then this even taking into account what just happened and the intervention of the others.

"I believe they that Star-Lord is successful in his mission!" he calls out to Tyran'tar and Sindr both. "The time may be now to begin to..ah..fight our way out of here.."

Groot has posed:
Groot provides that distraction by tossing down the industrial frictionless gel that Rocket provided him earlier, spilling it all over the floor as he stretches his arms, leaps and REACHES for the ceiling. "I am Groot."

Tyran'tar has posed:
Tyran'tar removes the barriers off the arena to let solar energy into the arena. He then floats into the air and looks to Sindr. "Ladies first." He gestures to her before forming another blaster rifle and begins to fire on the alpha's machines, firing green blasts of energy at the machines and looks to the others in the arena. "Lets get out."

Sindr has posed:
Sindr's first priority, of course, is making sure Lar and her companions can get free of this place, so naturally she's going to help fight their way out. Fireballs, fire lances, gouts of mystical flame-throwers... Oh yes. SO MUCH WILL BURN!!! Gigas can manhandle the daxamite now.

Mon-El has posed:
Lucky Star-Lord, he survived the blast, thanks to Brainiac's prototype, but now an alarm is blaring and the entire complex's security detail is now after him. The shield holds out fairly well, but Quill can probably see that it's nearing its depletion point--there's only so much more it can take, so he'd better lose them fast. However, they seem laser-focused on him, so at least they aren't troubling his companions too much.

Perhaps it doesn't come as a surprise, but the crowds don't really notice the wild goose chase, as they are fixated on the fact that someone has finally somehow managed to beat that crazy Daxamite! "...4...3...2...1...Kaaaayyy OOOOHHHHHH!" A bell sounds and the commentator shouts and the audience goes wild.

Lar groans and sits up slightly, squinting at the group. "Ugh...what..." he mumbles. "Who....who are you?"

The rhinoid slips on that gel and goes barreling into people all over the place, but still ends up slamming into Groot as well. But since all the security personnel seem to have gone after Star-Lord, the rest of them are basically free to walk away...although, they won't be getting a prize. Well, other than recognition from the locals.

Tyran'tar has posed:
Tyran'tar moves to Lar and helps him. "We need to get out of here Lar, before they take control over you again." Tyran'tar says to try and help lar out. He looks to Gigas to see if he will carry Lar out. If not, Tyran'tar will encase him in a forcefield and leave with the daxamite.

Gigas has posed:
Indeed, Gigas is already there when Tyran'tar has arrived and he slings Lars over a shoulder. As Tyran'tar arrives he nods and gestures at him and Sindr, pointing at the Arena entrance they came in at..and then he leaps for it, thundering in that direction to help make their escape.

Sindr has posed:
Oh, well if it's going to be that easy, Sindr will just exit, post haste. There will be burning, but that comes later.

Star-Lord has posed:
"ThisdidnotgothewayIplanned." Star-Lord speaking fast and hard as he dodges and weaves might be funny if people could hear him. Still, these corridors were too restrictive and security seemed to be converging on him from all sides, so nothing for it but to run.

By the time he's out in the arena proper, the rest of the Guardians and Team Gigas can easily see him flying past them, his element guns at his sides as he goes past in a rush.

Security is right behind him, too.

Tyran'tar has posed:
Tyran'tar focuses on getting out easily enough, he can fly, but seeing the security behind Star-lord gives him an idea. He forms a barrier to repulse everyone away from exiting the arena, even security. He keeps this barrier up long enough for the guardians and himself to get clear. He will have to meet up with gigas later. He had a feeling using his powers in an arena fight would anger the guardians of the universe back on Oa.
