Cast of Characters: 343, Amarok, Silver Sable

Tempest (343) has posed:
Late at night some people might think Central Park isn't the safest place to be, and for some that is probably true but for others... not so much. Of course being in the heart of New York trying something shady might be just a quick trip to jail as who knows who could be swinging, flying, or passing by. Still with it being Friday night there's a good amount of people just socializing and otherwise enjoying the night life. The bars haven't /quite/ closed yet, for normal alcohol serving anyways, and while it might not be as crowded as it was a few hours ago, Central Park still has it's fair share of traffic and then some.

Dressed in civis, Garth still tends to stand out because, well, he is who he is. He might not stand out as much as others but a publically known Atlantean Ambassador to the UN? Psssh that doesn't matter, it's the jawline, muscles, and the eyes that draw attention. That and the tattoos over his right eye. So Garth is relaxing and just chatting with a few people with a drink in hand as he enjoys the night life. Of course that probably won't last.

Amarok has posed:
Alone on a bench sits a disheveled young man staring off into nothing. His skin is deeply tanned but it's showing signs of lightening, and his eyes are dark and sunken in, like he hasn't slept in weeks. He twitches slightly every now and then, rapidly looking all around before looking back forward and locking back into position.

Silver Sable has posed:
Another visitor to the late night park is Silver Sable, she too dressed in street clothes, though they stand out just as much as she does. The white clad woman is also one of the diplomatic elite, though in her case a representative of a small balkan state then some underwater kingdom. She isn't entirely alone either, while she is infact walking alone, an astute observer would notice the shadow she has, a pair of strong looking gentlemen, dressed in black suits, following behind at a discrete distance.

Tempest (343) has posed:
Tempest finishes his drink and steps out of the conversation he was having with a couple of gawkers who go about their merry way once he seems to be intent on actually walking away. Heading over towards the nearest trash bin like an upright citizen concerned with such things Garth tosses his plastic bottle into the recyclable bin and smiles a bit to himself. Jeans. White T-Shirt. Casual boots. Garth doesn't stand out like Sable and her shadows, or as much as the fellow on the bench either who seems to be a bit twitchy to say the least. With a concerned look on his face Garth heads over towards the bench where Urban Wolf sits and does his scan then still thing.

"Hey." Garth begins with conversationally then his tone goes concerned, "Are you doing ok?" When Garth goes to talk to Urban Wolf though those who thought he might come back seem confused at his social faux pas of talking with someone whom others probably just ignore every day in the City. The young hero however, is not one of those who just stands by and ignores apparently. He is distracted though by the lady in white and her shadows though briefly, a puzzled look on his face as if trying to place Silver Sable in his memory while also trying to not split his attention to much from the young man on the bench.

Amarok has posed:
The young man flinches a bit as he looks up at Tempest, blinking tiredly a few times before answering, "...No. Not really. Thanks for asking though..." He says in a voice as tired as his eyes, his gaze dancing shyly away.

Silver Sable has posed:
The path taken by the white haired woman brings her into the general vicinity of the two men, her gaze first settles on the man sitting upon the bench before her attention shifts to settle upon Tempest himself. She offers a slight gesture towards her shadow before coming to stand in the general vicinity of the duo. "Ambassador." She says in greeting, her voice soft and cool as she turns to glance at Urban Wolf, "Is everything alright here?" she asks, echoing the question previously asked by the Atlantean.

Tempest (343) has posed:
"I sort of gathered." Tempest says to Urban Wolf with a touch of a crooked smile twisting the corner of his mouth into a half-smirk, "You look like you're being hunted by something. That kind of thing can get nasty real quick." He says with a mix of concern without trying to be overbearing but it's a hard line to walk. When Silver Sable comes over as well, Tempest is just saying: "I'm sure you know already but there is help out there, for all sorts of things but..." Then there is Sable who thankfully comes to interrupt Tempest's awkwardness, "Ahh that's where I know you from." He says with a bit of a more open smile, "Ambassador." He returns with a polite formal bow towards Silver Sable before he looks back towards Urban Wolf, "Nope. Hoping to learn more though. I guess being overly helpful is just ingrained into me by this point."

Amarok has posed:
The young man bows his head slightly at the exchange of titles, "Good evening, ambassadors..." He looks back up and slowly leans back a bit, checking behind him as he does so, "Just...not adjusting well. I'll be fine...eventually..." He clears his throat a bit, "H-how about you? Either of you, I mean. I trust all is well?"

Silver Sable has posed:
A curt nod is returned to Tempest in response to the bow, "A pleasure to bump into you, and a surprise." Silver says to the Atlantean before her attention shifts towards the young fellow on the bench, her hands coming to rest upon her hips. "Not adjusting well to what?" she asks, her cool gaze resting on the man, judging perhaps, there is no response offered to the question of wellbeing.

Tempest (343) has posed:
Tempest's eyebrows skyrocket at the whole situation, but more specifically at the words Urban is saying, "Well, I'd guess we'd be doing a lot better if we knew what you needed adjusting to." He echoes Silver Sable's question but without the potentially judgement in it. "You know," He moves to sit down on the bench beside Urban Wolf, relaxing comfortably, "It can help to get things off your chest and if whatever's happened is bad... and still ongoing... maybe we can put a stop to it right? I know it's a lot to ask of a stranger..." Pause. "A pair of strangers but you might be surprised at what we can do if we put our minds to it." He smiles at Urban and then looks back over towards Silver Sable, "I guess it's true what they say, you never know who you might run into in New York City. It's always a pleasure, even if the circumstances are a bit unusual."

Amarok has posed:
The young man inches away from Tempest as he joins him on the bench, "I...would rather not talk about it. It's very...personal and....unpleasant. Please, just go back to your party and forget you ever saw me," He says with a tinge of red to his face, showing the embarrassment and frustration he doesn't give voice to.

Silver Sable has posed:
Silver Sable continues to level that cool gaze upon Wolf as he answers the question, after a few moments of silence she shrugs her shoulders, "Then why did you mention it anyway?" she asks, "But very well." Her attention shifts towards Tempest, an almost dismissive gesture to the raggedy man on the bench, "Yes, I only just arrived in america earlier this evening, I thought I would come out and walk through the park a bit, I do love coming to this place when I am here."

Tempest (343) has posed:
Tempest looks over at Urban Wolf again, "Suit yourself." And he stands up from the bench and turns his attention back over towards Silver Sable, but he stops halfway through. "One thing I've learned is true both here on the surface and beneath the waves is that trying to do everything by yourself is just a path of hardship and pain. If you change your mind you can leave word at the Embassy for me." Then his attention goes back towards Silver Sable and smiles towards her. "It is a nice piece of scenery." He admits, looking over the park. "It's like this one bit of life amidst all this concrete, steel, and glass... just a little bit to tame though." Moving over towards Silver Sable more fully Tempest ignores the two guys in black suits that are shadowing. "If you don't mind the company I wouldn't mind going for a walk. This is the first chance I've had to really meet you outside the assembly floor."

Amarok has posed:
The man glances up to Silver Sable and somewhat meekly responds to her dismissal with, "I was asked. So I responded." His gaze returns to his shoes until Tempest gives the last offer of aid, smiling ever so slightly and nodding, "T-thank you. I'll...remember that."

Silver Sable has posed:
"I find very little free time for myself." Silver says, her attention remaining firmly away from Wolf, at least for the time being, a nod of her head is offered to him, "I've infact had a security contract in central africa that required my personal attention lately, an insurgency was gaining traction and I had to have my Wild Pack put it down." She says with a slight shrug, "Whatever it takes to mantain democratic rule, I suppose. But of course, I would be delighted at the company." She says, gesturing ever so slightly to indicate Tempest should join her.

Tempest (343) has posed:
"I understand about doing what it takes to secure the safety of a country and it's people." Tempest says in response to Silver's comments, "I guess I still prefer an enlightened monarchy myself. I've found that so called democracies usually end up as nothing but mob rule. A person can be smart, but people... bless their hearts rarely think of what is good for everyone and not just themselves." He admits but inclines his head in a polite nod towards Silver's acceptance of his company and moves to walk with her as she wishes through the park or otherwise. "One of those things that is good in theory, but practice doesn't have as good a track record." He rolls those broad shoulders of his in a slight shrug. "One might think I was biased considering my culture however." He chuckles at that.

Silver Sable has posed:
"Oh, Symkaria is a Monarchy as well, a parliamentary one though." Silver says with a slight shrug of her shoulders, "And a monarchy can only be as enlightened as it's Monarch, without that the adjective quite quickly changes, at least in my experience." She says as she starts to resume her walk down the path with the Atlantean gentleman. "How have things been going in your kingdom?"

Tempest (343) has posed:
"Well, the enlightened part /is/ important for sure. A good monarch though has good advisors that they can trust though." Tempest says conversationally, "After all we've not found a truely perfect system but the only thing a beauracracy is good for is promoting itself. I don't know if that's also the case with Parliaments to be honest." Heading down the path as well making sure to match pace so as to converse comfortably, "Well, we haven't been caught up in any wars recently and as far as I know nobody's tried to attack us lately so as far as I know, things are going just swimmingly. My duties keep me out of Poseidonis for long stretches of time." He looks over towards her then, "I assume it's much the same with yourself and Symkaria."

Silver Sable has posed:
"I make it home to Symkaria fairly often actually, my Wild Pack is based out of the country so I have plenty of duties to attend to there. I'm a woman with many hats, afterall." Silver says to the gentleman, "I am glad to hear you've not had any major conflicts or security issues. If you're kingdom requires any enhanced security for your dignitaries when they come ashore, do not hesitate to get in touch with me though." Her hands shift to stuff into the pockets of her overcoat.

Tempest (343) has posed:
/That/ makes Tempest laugh but it is not a mocking sound, just utterly amused. "I can't imagine Arthur needing a bodyguard or escort honestly. He's the second most powerful individual I know, except without the whole mortal weakness to a crystal thing." He smiles, "But I appreciate the offer, I'd even consider it if I could ever imagine Arthut actually accepting such a thing. He can be very... insular... in a lot of ways." Looking back out into the park Tempest falls silent for a few moments, looking thoughtful, "I think he might take it as an affront, like we couldn't protect ourselves or our own actually..." He says with a bit of a shrug then changing subjects back towards the other part of the conversation he asks, "What is Symkaria like? I admit to not knowing very much about your country or it's people unfortunately. I am worldly compared to many Atlanteans but there is much I do not know still."

Silver Sable has posed:
"Well, Symkaria is quite a small country, and it has seen a lot of conflict over it's history. But it is nice, very scenic if you ask me, with an old world charm you don't find in may parts of europe. We managed to avoid the soviet pressure and mantain our ties with the west, so we benefited greatly from that." Silver says as she walks, "We do a lot of mining and industry, and we have a fairly advanced scientific base compared to many of our larger neighbors." She glances aside to Tempest, "I know little about your kingdom as well, not many get the opportunity to visit, afterall. Tell me about it."

Tempest (343) has posed:
Tempest nods as he listens, "It sounds like your country and people have been wise in the ways they developed themselves, to be small and yet industrious means the natural resources have not been abused." He smiles, "I like that. As for Atlantis... it is a very rigid culture, with a very defined culture. If I had to put it into terms that someone from the surface might understand... I think I might have to liken it to Ancient Greece in a way, city states but it is not always peaceful. We have known war many times. The ocean is not a peaceful place there are a great many predators that would attack us individually or as a group. The buildings are like nothing that exist here on the surface because we do not build in the air, the water allows structural elements and designs that would not be possible on the surface. Our cities exist within reinforced domes that are our first line of defense but within them we promote the arts." He considers, "In such an environment we must all be prepared all the time, so the structure and discipline helps us survive. We take care of our own but there are always outliers."

Silver Sable has posed:
The path brings the duo up towards the street as they converse, and Silver nods her head slightly at the Atlantean, "We have made a lot out of nothing, as I said Symkaria is not a particularly rich country. But I am proud of it none the less." Without too much warning a white towncar pulls up before the two, followed by a matching whit SUV. "If you'll excuse me, I'm needed at my embassy. It was lovely meeting you, I've no doubt we'll cross paths again soon."

Tempest (343) has posed:
"Of course. I look forwards to that as well." Tempest would go to try and open the door for her but there is probably a chauffer or one of the black suited individuals for that. "I don't often get to talk with other Ambassadors about pleasant things and I hope we get the opportunity to get to know one another better in the future." The Atlantean offers a polite nod of his head in a partial bow to the woman and then steps away from the car so as to not remotely interfere with Silver Sable's leaving before he'll head off into the night once the car is gone.
