Synopsis: Starfire has a decision. Breath has hugs.
Cast of Characters: Breath, Starfire

Breath has posed:
It's... early. The sun is just about to peek over the horizon. And Breath is in a swimsuit, swimming laps underwater in the pool for exercize, towel spread nearby. After a few laps, she surfaces to look around a bit and check the clock, then sloshes over to grab a water container and take a few sips, stretching out some.

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r is sitting on the edge of the Tower roof. She must've been there for hours. Just staring off into space. Barely paying attention to her surroundings - the Silkie's bumping against her leg but she's paying no attention, muttering to herself in her native tongue.

Breath has posed:
Breath hmms. "Are you okay? I didn't want to bug you, but it's been awhile, and your friend looks kind of concerned." She climbs out of the pool, toweling herself off and wandering that way slowly. "By now, I kind of am, too." She tilts her head at you and bites her lip a bit.

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r blinks as she gazes over to you. "I have a lot on my mind," she murmurs, her voice quavering. "I... I have to make a life-changing decision." She slumps. "Captain America. Yes, he's a superhero. But he's also an inspiration to most humans, as is Superman, correct? What would you do if one of them came to you and asked you to leave everything you know, and go on a dangerous quest - that's the right thing to do, but... you might never come home again?"

Breath has posed:
Breath tilts her head. "Honestly? I'd probably do it. If nothing else it will look awesome on my resume. But I'm not you. Want to talk about it? Maybe get your thoughts sorted out a little? Things make more sense to me when I say them out loud than when it's in my head, sometimes." She sits next to you and looks at you, attentively.

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r nods. "A Tamaranean hero came to me. One who I admired as a child, and is now a Green Lantern. And... he implored me to go back home. To New Tamaran. And... depose my sister." She just flops back, laying on the roof now. "But if I did that... I could never return. Even if I survived... I'd be expected to take over as queen."

Breath has posed:
Breath nods. "What would that be like?" She watches and leans back, listening. "Would being queen be a good life for you? I mean, we think you're awesome, but I don't want to stand in the way of you achieving something good for yourself."

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r sighs softly. "It'd be hard. She is like..." She frowns softly. "A dictator of the worst sort. Like that fat guy in the nation of... Korea I think you call it. They have been pacified - she forbade our warrior culture. I... I don't even know if there will be any willing to do it."

Breath has posed:
Breath says, "So, what I am hearing is you aren't sure if it's possible to do at all? Do you know if the Lantern knew anything that made him think it was possible? Or did he just see a need, and come straight here? I'm sure he knows the situation."

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r murmurs, "My presence would be inspiring... but... I don't know if I can do it. I might have to slay some of my own people. And if I'm going to have Tamaranean blood on my hand, there's only ONE whose blood belongs there. And... and... I just can't... I'm scared."

Breath has posed:
Breath hmmms. "You can't? What do you feel will happen to /you/ if you do that?" She offers a hand, concernedly scooting over and sitting next to you, trying to be reassuring.

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r turns it into a full-on embrace. "I fear I'd have to do so many terrible things to defeat Kom... that I'd be hated - or worse - become her..." And... with that last admission, she clings to you and starts sobbing.

Breath has posed:
Breath pulls you close and holds you, rocking slowly and patting your shoulder gently. She wishes she had thought to grab a box of tissues, but alas. She just lets her friend cry it out, trying to be as supportive as she can, quietly deciding what else she can say.

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r finally lets go, sighing softly. "I hope I didn't hurt you..." she whisprs softly as she finally murmurs, "I... I have a whole life here. I know my people are suffering - but how much support would I really have? I can't conquer an entire planet on my own... I... I'm not ready to do that."

Breath has posed:
Breath nods, gives you a brief squeeze, and lets you rearrange yourself. "It's okay, you didn't break anything. Can you talk to the hero again? From a practical side, you don't have any intel. From an emotional side, yeah, and I don't think a Lantern would want you to break yourself either."

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r murmurs, "Yeah, I can call him - but he has to be careful - my ship might not come by as often for apparently they came by too often." She sighs softly as she slumps. "I am just stuck between two worlds... it'd be hard - and ugly - and terrible - and many other things - to go. It's not like I'd know anyone there after all - and it won't bring my parents back. Executing my sister won't stop the crimes she's committed. And if there's no actual rebellion of any kind in all this time - why would one form just because I called? She'd probabl just finish what she started and have me killed."

Breath has posed:
Breath nods and listens. "Okay. So what if you didn't go?" She watches you quietly, tilting her head the other way, gesturing lightly with her left hand.

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r murmurs, "Then I condemn the Tamaranean race to Kom's madness..."

Breath has posed:
Breath listens quietly, watching you and leaving you to the uncomfortable silence to decide what else to say for now.

Starfire has posed:
Koriand'r sighs. "Should I go? Or should I stay? I'm comfortable here... but do I deserve this comfort when my people suffer?"

Breath has posed:
Breath comforts for quite awhile. Eventually, "I need to go to work. I'm sorry you have this decision on your mind, I am behind you no matter what you decide." She leans up to give her a small squeeze. "Let me know if there's anything else I can do, okay?"
