Cast of Characters: Wonder Woman, Balder Odinson

Wonder Woman has posed:
It is late afternoon at the Themysciran Arts Center in the upper east side of Manhattan, just a small distance from the Embassy for the same people of Paradise Island.

Diana Prince is present today, she's assisting with a live combat training exercise in the very popular training area of the Center. Its here that people will converge and watch actual Amazon Warriors teach and spar with one another, as well as with civilians who come to learn/train/practice and immerse themselves into the culture of an ancient and mystical society of warrior women.

Diana is in her Eagle Armor, though since its winter she's sporting a pair of dark blue trousers beneath the blue/gold skirt, slim fit the trousers dip down into her tall armored boots and keep her legs covered.

Diana is near the edge of a sparring match going on between an Amazon sister of hers, and a highly trained civilian from here in Manhattan, they re clashing sword and shield. There's about fifty people here today who are also watching. Cheering and applauding is common place as the action heats up here and there.

Balder Odinson has posed:
Oh ho ho! A battle! Well, Balder, the Asgardian God of Light, can hardly resist!

Though his entrance isn't very flashy. He merely arrives wearing his armor. A simple Asgardian Curaiss with a fur cloak hangin' from his shoulders that comes straight down to the ground. Two blades with golden hilts peak their heads out from said cloak and he seems to greet all before him with a beautiful smile.

...that's almost supernaturally beautiful. God of Purity and Beauty.

though he at least has the respect for the other warriors to finish their duel, his eyes find Diana, and he just smiles. A silent challenge? One the Warrior Princess might accept, given the circumstances of the event itself. But what truly brings the Asgardian to the Themysceran Arts Center?

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana's attention is wholely on the sparring going on, at least up to the point where she sees the familiar armor of an Asgardian within her peripheral vision.

This draws her attention away from the match and she looks over to Balder. He's definitely not Thor, but he looks to be cut from similar cloth. So after a moment of hesitation the tall Amazonian Princess starts to make her way around the sparring perimeter, watching yet-still while she makes her direction clear that she's approaching Balder.

As she draws near to him, the sparring match reaches a crescendo and people applaud and cheer as the Amazon downs the well trained civilian... hundreds of years of training is just superior to a regular human lifespan's worth.

Diana applauds lightly as she steps to Balder. "Hello there." She says in greeting. "I am Diana." She then offers him her hand to shake.

Balder Odinson has posed:
Balder keeps an eye on the fighting, though he is certain to keep an eye on Diana as she makes her way around to approach him. But once the fight reaches conclusion, instead of cheering, Balder the Brave just smiles very gently, as if he approves of the sportsmanship that soon followed. His eyes then shift to the Mistress of the House as she draws near enough for conversation.

"Greetings and well met, warrior." he looks to the hand and offers his own, giving hers a firm shake. "I am Balder, son of Odin. It is a pleasure to meet you, Diana."

He looks to the sparring ring, before looking into her eyes. "Among my people, there is a theory. That two warriors cannot truly know each other until or unless they have crossed blades. Would you care to spar with me, Diana?" He assumes she's at least capable of such, given her armor and the way she carries herself through her own halls.

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana nods once to the man after he introduces himself. She then glances to the sparring ring as the two previous combatants are taking bows and shaking each other's hands respectfully. Diana releases a soft laugh and then looks back to the man.

"I am afraid we are not able to do that just now, this is an ongoing event for the public." She gives a glance around the room then at the gathered people who've come to watch the Amazonians spar. Its likely they'd enjoy a duel between Themysciran and Asgardian, though.

Diana then exhales and nods her head once to him. "I assume that you have been sent here by Thor?" She asks him then. "Is he in some sort of trouble?" She then asks further. "It seems he never can stray from it for very long..."

Balder Odinson has posed:
Balder looks tot he sparring ring, before his eyes fall back upon the beautiful visage of Diana. "I see. I am saddened to hear this, but it is a wish of mine to cross blades with you in the near future. I have seen the skill of Amazons today, and would like to experience that battle skill first hand. But I will do so on your good time." he says respectfully, giving a gentle bow.

"Actually, I have come here upon my own free will once word of what was happening reached mine ears. It appears I have picked a bad time, however." he laughs infectiously. "Though I have no doubt my elder brother has managed to get himself into some sort of trouble..." a shared perhaps look of worry on both of their faces.

"But, tell me, many of these art pieces are beautiful. How have you come by them?"

Wonder Woman has posed:
As the combatants in the ring continue to speak for a moment past their duel, they eventually part and two new people step into the fighting zone. Its a scheduled event after all. These two warriors are both wielding combat staves and neither of them appear to be Amazonian in roots, but are students of the Center itself, since its been open for over a year now its had a dedicated student body ever since.

Diana's leather-wrapped hands come together in front of her lap and she interlaces her fingers together as she stares at the Asgardian man before her. "I did not know Thor had a younger brother." She replies to him. "Just the other day we were at lunch with a friend of ours and he mentioned his sister showing up... It would seem the entire Odinfamily is converging together again here." This does make her smile.

A glance is then given around their general area at the question of the art. "It is the stylings of my people. Some of the pieces in this facility are from our own student body here, but some are from Themyscira itself. Either recovered from around the world, or brought in and donated by the artists from my homeland."

Balder Odinson has posed:
"I believe Thor does not communicate well...which is a scary thought, if he is king. But...father placed his faith in him, and so will I." Balder could be many things, but his loyalty remained unbreakable as always. Though he does tilt his head. Sister? That's....curious. He hasn't met Hela quite yet.

But he does seem to brighten considerably when they speak of artwork and their origin. "Many come from Themyscira? Wonderful. If these paintings are anything to go by...I imagine your homeland is unspeakably beyond compare." even to Asgard? when it still stood? That is quite the words, Balder.

"I am happy though...to have been able to come to Midgard and see my family again. It felt as if I had been adrift for a long time."

Wonder Woman has posed:
The first part about Thor being poor at communication does make Diana crack another faint smile and then she nods when he speaks of him being crowned King. "It is a lot of responsibility, I am sure he can handle it however." She then says before she lets the smile fade and she takes the time to listen to Balder speak of himself.

"I am sure that your family, and your people, will be thrilled to have you back." She replies to him then. "I did what I could to see to it that they would be accommodated here. We even spent a little time on Themyscira as we weighed the option of the Asgardian people taking up a corner of our island as their new home, if temporarily. But... it was not meant to be as such."

With a light nod then Diana continues. "You should seek them out, see the new location they have chosen. It has come a long way in a fairly short amount of time. And... yes, I am quite fond of my home, it is where our heart is, as they say."

Balder Odinson has posed:
The WORST at communication.

Balder though seems well and happy at Diana's encouragement, he even smiles at her once again. Though...he seems to also gently be - glowing - with light. Well...the Asgardians were a people of variety. He nods gently. "I would certainly hope so. I plan to help my people rebuild our land. Ragnarok crippled us beyond all measure, as the legends said it would. But I'm glad that the world has, for hte most part, accepted our existence and has so far allowed us to stay here on Midgard."

He seems to be in thought. "...if I may, I would love to see this land of yours. Though I understand it has the requirement that all who reside upon it's land be female."

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana has long ago gotten used to the various quirks about the people she meets in the world. She's met so many super powered people since she left Paradise Island over a hundred years ago, she's seen so many unique and extremely individualistic abilities that she no longer seems surprised by them. A man with a nice smile and a 'glow' about him? She just admires it silently, showing a faint smile and a light nod to him and his words.

At the question of her people she lowers her chin and then nods once. "It is challenging, to get visitors to my homeland. Especially of the male gender. It is a long and history-rich series of reasons behind the restrictions, but my mother... the Queen is adamant in her stance on the matter. Some have got the chance to visit in the past, Thor for example. Its possible it could happen again in the future, but it usually requires a very public persona of being Good and Just in order to get past her vetting process."

Diana then cracks a light smile. "Perhaps if you stick around with your people and can become a force for such things, then it could indeed be arranged. But... all I can do is put in a good word with her, she chooses on her own who is permitted to come and go."

Balder Odinson has posed:
Balder seems to have the hope visibly brighten as Diana tells him about the exceptions sometimes made on Themyscira. "I certainly hope to earn the right to see your home. If such beauty comes from all around..the painting, the people, the personalities...than truly, I would be at peace with life if I were to catch even a glimpse." thoug hto him, even Asgard was a sight that he would be content with seeing for the rest of his life.

A man who loves beauty, in all the forms that it comes in.

But Balder doesn't gloat. He's very humble and he nods softly. "A day I will pray for. But until then, I am happy with having minor connections, like that with you, Princess." since her mother is the Queen, it's only natural he addresses her as such! "I would be grateful if you could put in such a word. Perhaps if I am given the blessing, you will grant me a...I think Midgardians call it a tour?"

Wonder Woman has posed:
Diana shows a faint smile and a light single nod to the man's words. "One never knows what the future may hold." She tells him. "One must simply navigate it like a ship in a storm at the center of the sea and keep their chin up, their heart filled with hope." With a sudden exhale, she turns to look to the javelin combatants who are clashing weapons together and then beyond to someone in a group who is signaling to her with a wave.

Her blue eyes return to Balder and she offers her hand again to him. "I apologize, but I must make wy way around and speak with others. Part of these events is to be an ever moving ship of my own, speaking to many." She shows a light grin. "It has been a pleasure to meet you, Balder. Please send your family my best. I hope to see all of you again soon. Do let me know how things are progressing at the new home of your people too?"

Balder Odinson has posed:
Balder smiles beautifully once again to Diana, nodding very softly before he follows where her eyes go, looking to the man or woman who seems to try and get her attention. "I see I am not the only one who wishes for your attention. I thank you for giving me the time and having such a perfect conversation." he accepts Diana's hand and gives it another firm shake, releasing it afterwards.

"Safe travels, Diana. I hope to meet you again." and with a gentle bow of his head, the God of Light will make his departure. Time to go find his brother.
