Cast of Characters: Pepper Potts, Iron Man

Pepper Potts has posed:
It's been a long day, which seems to have stretched into a longer evening, and Pepper has been working nonstop since she arrived, before 7 am. Currently, the lies on couch, feet up, eyes closed. She might be asleep. Or just working more in her mind...

Iron Man has posed:
"She's asleep?" Tony asks JARVIS, amused, as he rides the elevator. Tony instead switches floors. "No, don't wake her," he instructs the AI, letting himself out on the deserted 50th floor where their offices are. He crosses to his own, putting down a few things, and then with a sly little smile, quietly lets himself into Pepper's office.

Taking in her sleeping form, he stands by the door for a moment, hands resting at hip level, and then crosses to her. With her not staring at him, his smirk fades into a different, softened expression. He smiles to himself a little, and bends to gently draw her heels off, and set them near the foot of the couch.

Pepper Potts has posed:
Pepper does not stir when Tony comes into her office. She doesn't even hear him. She's lying on her back with one arm draped over her midsection, and the other draped leisurely above her head on the arm of the couch.

When Tony draws off her heels, however, Pepper stirs gently, her brow furrowed for the briefest of moments while she sorts asleep from awake, and her eyes flutter open to find him standing there. She blinks a couple of times, just to make sure it's not a dream, as a smile toys at the corners of her lips.

Iron Man has posed:
"Your boss says that he's letting you take a break," Tony stage-whispers to her, noticing her looking up at him. He'd been looking at her: her legs and slim body, then to her face, having met her sleepy eyes. He turns some, adjusting where her lower legs are, and seats himself on the couch near her abdomen, dropping his hand against her raised hip. "Best to just go along with him, I think."

Pepper Potts has posed:
Pepper breathes a soft laugh as Tony seats himself beside her and rests his hand against her. "I find it's always best just to go along with him." She rakes her upraised hand through her strawberry hair, slightly tousled from having been pinned up throughout the day, but now loosed in soft waves that still loosely suggest the updo. "He didn't get where he is by not listening to his instinct, after all."

Pepper lowers that arm to rest her hand against his, lightly. "You had a busy day today, hmm? I heard the press release. A good day for the Avengers."

Iron Man has posed:
"Yes. Originally I was going to talk about some of our new contracts for the safety equipment, but Black Panther was far better to talk about. And a better excuse for an afterparty," Tony teases with a wink. "You should've come." His tone is playful, but has a softened quality in the undertone. He did want her there.

"Maybe in blue," Tony smiles, a quiet window suddenly open into the serious side that he is sometimes, but rarely, willing to expose. He holds her gaze if she keeps looking at him, his darker one somewhat tired from the long day, but holding the energy that parties and the press always give him: it's like events charge his batteries, give him an electric boost, somehow.

Pepper Potts has posed:
Pepper sits up, drawing her knees up a little on one side of Tony and reaching up to lightly feather at his hair, a little tousled already from the day's events. "I wasn't aware of it until it was too late to change," Pepper replies teasingly. "After all, one of us has to keep the ship on course here. If I go out to an afterparty, blue dress notwithstanding, the assistants might mutiny and tie that new guy Kevin to the mast." She shakes her head slightly. "Kevin's a nice guy, I don't want to see him tied to the mast..."

Iron Man has posed:
"I didn't approve of purchasing a mast," Tony replies skeptically, smirking a little in response. He turns his head towards her raised wrist, though, and then catches it in a hand, settling her hand against the side of his nape, comfortably. His expression shifts more into the charismatic one he uses for seduction. So him leaning down to brush his nose near hers cannot be anything close to a surprise. "Or a Kevin. But I don't want to HAVE to approve those, so. Best you do handle it."

Pepper Potts has posed:
Pepper laugh softly and shakes her head, sliding her fingers up through the back of Tony's hair, then stroking it back down. "I think they slipped the mast in under 'breakroom expenses' with the coffee and creamer." She leans her cheek against Tony's shoulder with a pleasant sigh. "Whatever makes them happy, I suppose." She looks up at Tony with a wink. "And Kevin, I'm not even sure we pay him. He just likes to come in and announce it's Hump Day on Wednesday mornings as he steps off the elevator."

Iron Man has posed:
"I'm really not interested in discussing Kevin right now," Tony says with a chuckling seriousness, his mood sliding to his more usual sarcastic one. "Unless it's how on earth he managed to get into this conversation and how soon he's going to be fired due to it," Tony teases, drawing back. He pats her leg with a palm. "Come on up to the penthouse," he invites her. "But leave Kevin here where he belongs."

Pepper Potts has posed:
"That sounds like..." Pepper pauses, looking around her office at the paperwork in neat piles on her desk. "...a fantastic idea. I can't think of anywhere I'd rather be." Pepper slides her arms up around Tony's neck and gives him an upturned gaze with seduction in her eyes. "You might have to carry me, though. Some miscreant has stolen my shoes."

Iron Man has posed:
"Probably Kevin," Tony snorts, while picking her up with a chuckle, drawing her sideways up against his chest and supporting her across his body. "I feel like a superhero. Let's do this more," Tony teases her, while crossing out of her office, headed for the elevator.
