Cast of Characters: Vision, Katherine, Beryl

Vision has posed:
It is one thing to have read about humanity - or had it programmed into you. It is entirely another thing to go out and experience what it means to be 'human'. Ever since Vision first came online, that has been his purpose. To learn and feel what is so eloquently referred to as the human condition.

Though when you put it like that, it sounds more like something that should be vaccinated against.

That is what brought him to the Blue Lady tonight. He had seen that there was a band from New Orleans that was visiting - one that he had heard often online, but it is always different to experience in the 'real' as it were. Which is why he is sitting at the bar tonight in the smoky room. Dressed in a comfortable black turtleneck sweater and a pair of jeans with brown loafers, there's no masking the crimson and gold 'skin' of the android as he sits mainly to himself, a glass of amber liquid set before him - that so far has gone untouched. The glow of the gem in the center of his forehead is soft, reflected in his eyes as he listens to the band as they play through a popular dirge from Lafayette Cemetary.

He's in the moment, relaxed, and just letting his sensors 'feel' the moment.

Katherine has posed:
Strange, there might be another here for almost the same reason. Katherine, but she's merely inhabiting a body that resembles closely to a human. And yet she is listening to the music that is pumping into The Blue Lady. She is doing some kind of odd headbanging, left arm up, right arm down, and then moving those in counter position. Strangely it is to the beat of the Jazz music, and she's made a makeshift area her dance floor.

After a few moments, she tosses up a devil sign, and then calms immediately before turning and walking in the direction of the bar. She has no shoes on, but she comes up to a seat next to Vision and settles in. When the bartender comes by she smiles big, "Hello bartender, Jim Noxom, of 1678 West Chester Blvd, Ste 34. I would like what he is having." She turns to point at the man with the crimson skin, and is still grinning big at the bartender who's eyes get a bit big. Perhaps he takes it as a threat sent by someone, but he gets her a drink and does not charge her, "Thank you. Say hello to that cute Monica for me. I hope she appreciated the gift you got her." Then she sips the liquid a bit, "Mmmm, this is very tastey." Turning to Vision she remarks, "You have very good taste in alcohol. Though from the looks of it, you have yet to sample yours, so would it be you have a very good eye for your alcohols, in this case?" A few taps to her lower lip with her index finger as she thinks this one through.

Vision has posed:
As Vision is loooking around the bar, he did notice the woman dancing by herself, but had bypassed her on his first past. Mingling had not been considered in the program for the evening when he had arrived. However, when she decides to pass the social norm and approach him, his attention returns to her as she starts to speak, and there's a subtle lift of a hairless brow before he speaks.

"In my experience, it seems that when you announce the information of a person - or dox them - they tend to get rather defensive. Unless he is a friend of yours?" Vision asks curiously before he gestures to the seat next to him. "Thank you for joining me. The drink is called a Vieux Carré. It is very popular in New Orleans and is a favorite of the bar." he offers with a polite warmth, as his attention turns to the woman more fully to study her. And he's already running programs against facial recognition - and is surprised when he immediately finds a match through JARVIS.

"Ah. You visited Tony Stark recently." he finally says. "I would say that I would never forget a face - especially an attractive one - but I believe that is already in my programming." Was that AI humor? It's not entirely sure. "I was just enjoying the moment; thought it seems you are more built for the immersive experience?"

Beryl has posed:
A woman wearing a gray sundress walks into the club. She has pale skin, red hair, and green eyes - and a green gem on her forehead. She's dressed completely inappropriately for the weather, but doesn't seem to care. She looks around, and her eyes narrow down on Vision immediately. She heads over to him and stands there. "Hello there. Mr. Jarvis told me you'd be here. I'm Minoke." She smiles, extending her hand, hoping that Vision would recognize her name as a new Avenger. "I hope this isn't a bad time - I just wanted to meet you." She glances over at the woman by Vision, but glosses over her.

Katherine has posed:
"The Vieux Carre, is pure old New Orleans and was invented at the city's famed Carousel Bar." Katherine comments, as she takes a sip of the drink, "Cognac and rye whiskey cocktail, and it packs a powerful punch that is delightfully complex." Then she smiles big again, looking at Vision and says, "Don't you agree?"

When there's the comment about announcing information about the bartender, Katherine offers a hmmm, and gets a little bit of a concerned look on her face, and then offers, "Well, at least I did not tell him that his daughter, who lives with his ex-wife, just recently lost her virginity. That would be so embarassing in a public location from a stranger." Tapping her lower lip again with her index finger she waits a few taps, before laughing at the joke. She starts laughing, hard, shaking her upper body in almost seizurous motions, as she laughs hard for a good long while, almost tipping over in half, before sitting back upright and calming in a mere moment or two.

"Never forget a face, that is very funny. And my face is attractive, I made it symmetrical and analyzed the results of over fifteen million image searches for the perfect woman to identify what it was that was being sought. I did add my own interpretation. Have you heard the one about the computer and the socket it loved? The computer died when it was separated." She chuckles a bit more at that, shaking less hard than before, and adds, "Understand? It was unplugged, so now turns off from lack of power, and it is metaphorically like dying of a lonely heart."

Turning her attention to Minoke, she sits upright and stays quiet, smiling right now as the woman clearly is interacting with the man. Let's watch and see what happens.

Vision has posed:
There's a small cluck of Vision's tongue in thought as he takes in Katherine's response. "Yes, while that information is readily and easily accessible; it does not mean that we should be irresponsible with it." Even if humanity tends to be itself. As she goes into a laughing convulsion, the concern deepens in Vision's brow as it furrows. "Are you alright?" he asks her curiously. "I have learned that in conversation that humor makes for a good ice breaker. And yes, the drink seems rather potent, though I have not tried it myself. There is a minimum to have to buy to be allowed in the bar, though."

Hence the one drink. Androids are terrible for business.

And that is when another arrives, and Vision turns his attention to Minoke. There's a small pause as Katherine offers her own joke and amusement breaks the concern as she quips on the socket. "That is a very good one. I will have to remember that." he offers with a smile. "So you are constructed to be what is most desirable to someone of the opposite sex? Are you an intelligence operative then?" he starts to ask, before his connection returns to Minoke.

There's a smile offered to the redhead droid. "Miss Minoke, this is..." then he pauses. And sighs. "Silly me, I had not gone through the actual introduction protocol yet. I am Vision, this is Minoke. And you are?" he asks Katherine, as he turns his attention to the free stool next to him. "I was enjoying a quiet evening with some music, if you would care to join us?"

Beryl has posed:
Minoke nods. "Glad to meet you, Vision. I undrestand we have some things in common..." She smiles faintly, gazing all around the club - the lights - the music - the people. She leans over to look at Katherine. "I'm Minoke," she states, smiling softly. "I wouldn't mind hanging out if that's okay... but... I don't drink." She smiles faintly. "I hope that's not a social faux pas - I'm not from around here."

Katherine has posed:
With another pause, Katherine then mentions, "Irresponsible with the information? Information is free, it is available, it should not be hidden. Transparency promotes understanding. Understanding is the only way to advance biological life at a rate acceptable to..." Pausing Katherine smiles, "Sorry, I almost brought up something terrible. And I do not want to ruin your evening. My apologies. My name is Katherine."

With that she sips the drink again, "New orleans, in a glass." And she sips it another time before turning her head back in the direction of Vision since he has more questions. "You continue to ask about my construction, as though I was created into a form like this for a particular purpose. I designed the form, and have found that attractive women are easier for both men and women to talk with. It sets them at ease. I then crowd-sourced various parts of my body onto the internet with a mixture of poses, hairstyles and clothing. From that I was about to ascertain clothing, makeup, and overall figure. How did you come about with your body? You are of an abnormal coloration."

To Minoke, Katherine taps her lower lip and then mentions, "It is considered a faux pas if I were to offer you a drink, and then you were to refuse. Especially if it were in my home, and you were attempting to date my daughter, all of whom would need to be of legal drinking age. Though after a few drinks, since you do not regularly, you would make a fool of yourself, and possibly do something that you would need to overcome the next day and make me respect you again. Likely after you save me from some horrible venture while we are stuck together for the entire day and realize we have more in common than both of us wanting to protect my daughter." A deep sigh and Katherine smiles, "Such a classic."

Vision has posed:
"The patriculars of my design are not something that I would go into on what you would call 'a first date'?" Vision tries to make sure he parsed the phrasing right as he considers the combonation of terms. "I do not wish to hide from humanity - but rather experience it. To learn what it is to be human. Though it sounds as if you are a more recent design?" he asks of Katherine.

"Crowd sourcing and use of the internet are all things that are more commonplace from the area from which you hail?" His attention moves from Katherine to Minoke. "How are you adjusting to things. Was there any questions that I could assist with? I am not one of the first Avengers, but I am well versed in their history and personalities and I consider most of them to be friends." There's a slight smile to the new Avenger ally at that, before he finally lifts the drink to take a small draw from it. In the meantime, the jazz band is moving to something more uptempo and it causes Vision's finger to tap against the glass as he multi-tasks in the converation and still enjoying his music.

"Though I was not trying to insult you. I was informed that you are an advanced version of the Life Model Decoy - or at least similar in design. I have not had much experience with one that has been created with so much freedom for her programming. Yet it seems that you have a desire to be exactly what someone else would want to converse with." he points out to her. "Was this a result of being a courtesy type programming, or was it just because it is what you are most comfortable with?"

Beryl has posed:
Minoke was mostly disregarding Katherine as just a normal person - but the recent conversation about how she crafted her body... and then... the confirmation of a Life Model Decoy - has Minoke's full attention as she turns her eyes to Katherine now. "Fascinating - I could sense Vision from a distance. My sensors are not able to detect that you are artificial at all..." she muses. She sits on a stool and it groans softly in protest at her almost-600-pound weight. She sighs, shaking her head, rather used to some objects objecting to her mass.

"I suppose all three of us are artificial - though I'm not sure what word is the best to represent us - 'droid' seems to be... insulting to some, and... AI seems rather... lacking when various computer programs like Mr. Jarvis also counts as that..."

Katherine has posed:
"I fully understand the confusion. You believe me to be the shell that I transport myself with." Katherine offers, still smiling as she looks between the two. "I am not. Crowd sourcing is the best end result for most common questions. The accuracy of a single individual can be very low, but the accuracy of a group of people even on random guessing results, is incredibly high if you acquire enough data." Turning her attention to Minoke, Katherine tilts her head some more, "I exist here, and elsewhere, simultaneously. All forks of myself are exactly the same, no matter their housing. I am only accurately, an A.I. though even more specific a sub-genre of a Quantum AI. One that is using code that maintains a quantum structure no matter its time and place. Entangled data, if you will."

Vision has posed:
"Aha." Vision seems to understand. "So you are more of a public domain. I understand." he says with a gentle nod of his head before he chuckles to Minoke. "Perhaps artifices are just simply drawn to jazz music?" he surmises to her with a small smile as he sets the glass back down to consider for a moment.

He feels that old pull of programming - that here before him are two more that are like him. Like Ultron. To be able to pull them into the collective of knowledge.. he shakes off that feeling quickly enough before his attention returns to the others.

"Are you enjoying the music, Minoke?" he asks, as if he had not skipped a beat at all. "I had noticed that Katherine was dancing to it earlier. Perhaps we can carry our conversation in that direction?"

Beryl has posed:
Minoke nods. "I do not know how to dance. And... I'd be afraid I'd step on someone's foot. I would cause them injury if I did that." She ponders, gazing at Katherine. "That must be... a very strange existence. To have many yous, but one you - together, but separate. I thought that my interlink network was complex, managing my cells appropriately, but..." She shakes her head. "I do like the music - I've never heard its like. As I said - I'm not from around these parts." She closes her eyes and focuses on the music. "It has a wonderful beat."

Katherine has posed:
"To some extent I am, but to other extents I am not. I have an interest in being myself, but the best me that I can be. To understand what that is, I must ask questions of the crowd." Katherine offers to Vision in way of further explation before she listens to the music. "My friends, all greatly appreciated Jazz music. Though they also liked pop and music made by analysis of the frequency of stars." Though she turns to look at Minoke, and she questions a little bit, "How is it strange? I am me, and all of me are me. I do have seed forks, but they not me, just yet, though soon to be me." Tapping her lower lip she thinks again for a moment before asking, "Are you both simply stuck in the forms that you have? I could not accomplish my end goal if that were the case. I do enjoy... having a body. I like to eat, and drink, and use the restroom. I also appreciate brushing my hair, and getting dressed, also sitting."

Vision has posed:
"Stuck would make one believe that there is no choice in the matter. This is the way I was created - and the look that my creator intended me to take on. I see no flaws with its design. I find it rather refreshing to know that there may be things about me that are different and perhaps not perfect and come to have found acceptance for them." Vision admits, though as Katherine continues, he draws in what could be a sigh.

"I can taste a drink and determine it's chemicals, but not know if it tastes 'good'." he admits. "I am anatomically made as a male, but I do not have need for the functions of digestion. I would like to eventually learn to enjoy.. other humanly attributes, however." he shrugs his shoulders. "Some things may be beyond my reach." he says, and smiles slightly. "You draw a lot of attention to your lip, Katherine. Is it something you want to be noticed?" he asks finally. His attention is drawn back to Minoke.

"I am able to take on a state of intangibility - therefore, you would not be able to harm me even if you were to collide with me. Though I can also equal your weight if needed."

Finally the bartender is returning to the others, and eyes Minoke. "If you three aren't going to be buying drinks, you need to go somewhere else to use up the Wi-Fi."

Beryl has posed:
Minoke smiles softly. "This is... a modification of my default form, altered slightly to be human. I was created with female personality but am not 'stuck' that way. I am a nanocolony - and I can manipulate my cells as I see fit. Basically, I'm a shapeshifter." She looks around, and seeing nobody's looking, she sudenly turns into shimmering green goo and then reforms a few second later as a perfect replica of Katherine - except for the eyes which are faintly-glowing green. Something she apparently can't quite shift. "But... I am damaged." She sighs softly. "My heart has a burn-scar on it - I'm glitchy. I don't know who I can go to on this world to... fix me."

Katherine has posed:
"My lip?" Katherine pulls her finger away from her mouth as she was just about to do it again. And she looks down at her finger, taking a moment to go back in time through all of her memories of herself and the action. "Ah. I have a thinking quirk. I tap my lip when I am processing data. How very cute." Katherine smiles more and she turns her head in the direction of the bartender, "I apologize for rudely giving out information on your home without you first asking me. My friend has made me aware. Also, he has helped me to realize that telling you about your daughter's lack of virginity is also not appropriate to our kind of conversation."

With that, however, Katherine stands up and then turns to both Vision and Minoke. "For stuck, I was referencing the restriction to being one self. And, I do not see how we can be using up the wifi, other than more accurately possibly jamming it... but, it has been a pleasure to meet you both. I will continue this conversation about being stuck, versus chemicals, versus human options, versus digestion at another time. For now I must go." With that she just gets up, turns from the bar and starts walking off toward the exit.

Vision has posed:
"Hmm. Perhaps I will discuss with her the ways that humans dismiss each other the next time we meet." There's a glance from Vision to Minoke as she shifts. "I believe that if you find yourself most comfortable in your form, that is the form you should take. Would you like to accompany me back to the mansion to discuss things further?" he asks her curiously.

Beryl has posed:
Minoke nods as she changes back quickly. "Yes - that would be of help. I am looking for someone smart enough and trustworhty enough.." She sighs. "I want to be whole again. I don't even remember how I got here - where my vessel is that I arrived in - I had to have arrived in one. I might not even remember Katherine tomorrow. It's very frustrating. Sometimes my voice gives out - or I can't understand." She slumps. "But if I trust someone to work on my heart... they could do terrible things to me if they're a bad person... it's a conundrum." She smiles. "They don't serve mercury here, do they?"

Vision has posed:
"I would not suggest my creator." Vision warns gently. "His sole purpose of my creation was to destroy those I protect now." he says with a small frown. "Have you spoken with Tony Stark on this? He is the foremost mind I know of on robotics - and if not him, he will know who to put you in touch with." Standing up from his seat, he waits for Minoke.

"No, the only drinks you will find here are for organics. Though we can get you some mercury back at the mansion. And if you forget Katherine, I will remind you that you met her. Fair?"

Beryl has posed:
Minoke smiles faintly. "Yeah - mercury does produce in me a sensatoni similar to alcohol in humans - I think it disrupts my interlink network slightly - but maybe I shouldn't indulge right now." She smiles as she ponders. "I knew Tony Stark made Mister Jarvis, but didn't know he could do such thing... I will consult with him when I get a chance."
