Even rooms need a coffee break sometimes.
Date of Scene: 09 February 2019
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Danger decides saving lives would be noble, then starts exploring the Internet - which will probably change her mind.
Cast of Characters: Stardust, Danger

Stardust has posed:
So far, the mysterious Danger has behaved impeccably, and none of the Titans can really complain. She's been a bit weird for sure, but she has stuck to her promise of fixing the damage to the Danger Room caused by her act of self-creation, hasn't caused any trouble, and has even made a few attempts to fit in with the Titans. The repairs to the Danger Room have been checked thoroughly and everything is as it should be. It's all going so well... and then Danger slipped away from her watchers at the Tower and went off to explore the town and drink coffee.

Keeping Danger under watch was a sensible move. There have been two prior occasions when Titan's hardware at least appeared to have taken on a mind of its own, and both times it was hostile. She's clearly powerful, and clearly an unknown quantity. Thus when it became known that Danger had slipped the rather slack watch on her and left the tower, it was certainly a matter of interest. Danger would probably not have been aware of the drones attempting to tracking her movements in the sky far above, but they didn't observe anything untoward. No alarms have been sounded, no attempt to retrieve her made.

However when she makes her way back, there's Stardust waiting for her, sitting on a hologram chair in the middle of the Danger Room, which is otherwise in darkness. Her face is an expressionless mask as she waits for Danger to make her way through the Tower and into the room that gave birth to her.

Danger has posed:
Walking in, Danger simply blinks at the sight of the woman in the dark room. She stares from her spot at the door for a long moment, holding a coffee cup. She shifts her eyes to the side briefly and then to the right. She had indeed been out, interacted with a few people including Wonder Woman and Victor Creed. What a strange duo to interact with on a coffee trip. Upon her arrival, to find the woman sitting in the dark, Danger seems stunned.

Though not for the reason one might think.

"Why are you in the dark? Is this supposed to represent something? I can see near perfectly in darkness." She states, "I was very aware of your presence before I even entered." She also currently looks like a spikey blond haired athletic woman in a white t-shirt and green pants with boots on.

Stardust has posed:
"Well that's a good question," Stardust answers. "I mean yes, in a way it does represent something. See if you want to hide something in a room from people, traditionally you do that by switching the lights off. Then you can switch the lights on the for the reveal. You know, like the surprise birthday party thing. They walk into a room, don't see that there's a bunch of their friends waiting there in silence to start the party. Someone switches the lights on, everyone yells 'surprise!', happiness ensues." It would be a fair assumption that Stardust was here to confront Danger about her absence. If so, she appears to have got distracted by explanations of party planning, which may indicate that she's no very upset about Danger's disappearing act, or may just be because she has the attention span of a goldfish.

"Of course with a hologram suite you don't need to turn the lights off, you just turn the room on when you want to reveal the contents. But the lack of lights adds to the dramatic tension." She raises her hand, fingers ready to snap. "Dramatic tension adds to the fun. You slipped your watcher and left the tower without telling us." Snap.

The lights come up, and the room is still just as bare, except for holographic banners slung up across the walls, which read 'Congratulations, Danger!'

"What took you so long?" Stardust breaks into a grin. "You're not our prisoner. You haven't done anything wrong as far as we know, well apart from wrecking our Danger Room. But that was understandable, and you fixed it. You can understand why we had to be cautious, but honestly you seem fine and that's pretty boring. My main concern was that you weren't really developing as a person. I mean being a computer just isn't the same thing. But wanting to slip away and see the world for yourself? That's initiative. Personality. A desire to learn about the world. I like it."

Danger has posed:
A blink and then she looks to the left and then right before saying, "You have...wait." She pauses and tilts her head, "I expected you to be upset. You seemed to wish for me to be watched." She then looks around briefly before saying, "I was bored though." She states, "Or at least hte closest thing to it. I am still unclear about a great many things." She then looks back at the door before looking back to Colette, "Many here were working on their own things. Too busy for me. I left." She states, "And umm, I suppose that was a good thing."

She shifts a little and idly rubs her head, "I am confused. However, I have discovered that there is a man named Victor Creed who can take as much caffiene as I can." She nods her head.

Stardust has posed:
Stardust hops up from the chair with a broad smile, and steps over to give Danger a friendly clap on the shoulder. "Well honestly Robin or Amarok might have taken it more seriously, but I was the one on monitor duty when you went AWOL. I'm pretty sure you're okay. You just don't have that whole 'DESTROY ALL HUMANS' thing about you. Watching you was a sensible precaution, but what, are we gonna do that forever? There's got to be a point where we decide you're okay, and to my mind you reached that point a while back."

She steps away, rolling her shoulders slightly before shrugging them. "So the big question as far as I am concerned, is... what are you? Are you some kind of simulation of a person, programmed to seem harmless until we lower our guard, or are you actually a person who just kind of used to be a computer system? Getting bored? That's a pretty good sign you're a person, not a Trojan Horse. Rebelling and sneaking out? I would be disappointed if you didn't. Personally, I'd have done it daaaays ago. But then I've got a lot more experience in the whole being a person thing than you. So, did you have fun? Coffee drinking contest then? Cool."

"So, I guess the next question is, now the Danger Room is fixed..." Stardust turns her eyes directly to Danger's. "What do you wanna do with your life?"

Danger has posed:
A blink and Danger stares at her, "I am not going to destroy you all. Unless, well, I can think of circumstances in which I might attempt to destroy you all." She taps her chin, "Though the likely hood of those instances are, at best, 11,945,385 to 1. And that is the most likely circumstance." She then looks to Colette, "If it came up though, I would be forced to try to destroy you all." She nods her head.

She then blinks, "Though I suppose that is hardly the point of this. I do not know." She states, "I have, been watching to a degree for a while." She considers briefly, "I suppose I wish to try to help. I have been watching some of the shows you have saved on the computer as well as looking at the history of this world. It seems the most noble profession is being a hero."

Stardust has posed:
"Yeah, I wouldn't exactly call it a profession," Stardust says with a laugh. "It's not exactly a career path. More about..." she stops and blinks a few times. "It's hard to say, really. I guess the best way to put it is, if you know you could make a big difference, it's hard to decide not to. At least, if you're a good person. I know that I have helped to save the world, twice. What would have happened if I had stayed at home? I don't know. " She frowns thoughtfully. "First time, probably nothing different. I mean I helped, but I was hardly a major part of the plan. Second time, maybe they'd have found another way to save the world, but maybe not."

Stardust pauses to look at Danger, then shrugs her shoulders again and returns to her chair. "Well. You have a life now, so you should do something with it. I recommend making sure that you have some fun. But making sure the world is a better place with you in it than otherwise seems to me to be a noble aim, however you go about doing it. Hero is one way. So is doctor, or artist, or a hundred other things. You might be picking up on the hero thing because that's what you've been exposed to. I mean being born in a building full of supers probably colors your judgement. But if that's what you want to do... you've got the opportunity, and you should take it."

Danger has posed:
A blink and then she considers, "Well, for me to know more about what I wish to do then I would need to look more at the world, I suppose. So far, simply exploring is fun. I imagine there might be more fun to see." She considers for a long moment before nodding her head, "Then, in that case, I shall do more exploring." She looks up with a smile, "And I shall seek employment or a career. However, I do wish to be of help to people where I can." She nods her haed, "I believe that is my duty or perhaps my purpose?" She shrugs, "I am unclear on a great many things."

Stardust has posed:
"Being unclear on a great many things is normal. You'll come to realize that in time." Stardust can't help smirking. "It's pretty much the definition of life. You do your best." She unclips something from her belt as she speaks, and tosses it to Danger. "Here. Titans communicator. It's not the full deal, we have private channels and stuff, but it means you'll hear our general alerts, and can contact the rest of us whenever you like, wherever you are. If Robin complains, tell him to talk to me."

Stardust's smirk turns back into a smile. "There is a lot of fun to see. And do. See it, do it. Exploring is good. Wishing to be of help is good too, though. I've got a suggestion for you. Join us on a patrol or two, see how you feel about it. Maybe the heroing biz is right for you, maybe not. Way to find out is to give it a try."

Danger has posed:
Catching the communicator, she hmms and nods before it absorbs into her. She pulls it into her form and it seems to simply vanish, "I will integrate that into my systems." She nods her head as she looks then around the room, "For now, I believe I should spend some time exploring more of the internet on a few things that I have found out." She nods again, "I would love to go on patrol with you." She nods again, "Thank you." She then walks over and gestures and a computer port appears and a chair, she sits at it and looks to Colette, "I will speak to you another time, yes?" She nods and then takes a deep breath and seems to start to lose focus as her illusion shimmers away to reveal the robot she was before.
