Date of Scene: 09 February 2019
Location: Faryar - Omega
Synopsis: Star-Lord and crew learn the whereabouts of the enslaved princesses, and plan their approach.
Cast of Characters: Mon-El, Groot, Sindr, Star-Lord, Gigas

Mon-El has posed:
So Star-Lord and company have made their daring escape from Arena 1 on the lawless planetoid Omega. Well, maybe just Star-Lord, since security all seemed quite focused on him and didn't pay much attention to the rest of the motley crew as they left with the so-called champion of the games.

...It's a good thing daring escapes are one of the things Peter has a good amount of experience in.

At any rate, there's plenty of untamed territory off to the far west of the criminal city where the Alpha won't follow. Which is because it's terribly cold and mostly consists of ice and tundra-like terrain. Not the greatest vacation spot, but at least it's a good place to find some icy glacier caves to lie low in while the team determines what to do next.

As for Lar, he is still a bit disoriented, but appears to finally be coming back to himself once the the flying robots stop giving chase.

Groot has posed:
Groot looks about, holding his arms close to his chest and considering the situation as he looks behind them and checks the sensors. "I am Groot." He shakes his head and considers.

Sindr has posed:
'Ember' is quiet. While she doesn't necessarily seem to get cold, she is none-the-less displeased with their current location; her disdain for the ice and cold is plainly worn in her expression. She waits for the time being, saying nothing while they all gather, get their bearings, and the mood of the room displays itself so to speak.

While she does so, she provides a bit of warmth and light with her command over fire. Motes in the classical tear-drop shape of candle-fire float in a circle around the group. They are just hot enough to provide some warmth, not hot enough to affect the ice of the cave they're in. Yet.

Star-Lord has posed:
Dodging. Weaving. Getting the hell out. These are all words that can aptly describe what happens as Star-Lord flies through Omega's corridors and 'streets', putting on what amounts to one of the more colorful light-shows seen in recent memory as he gets chased clear through the place. There are times where he seems to have disappeared, before he gets spotted by a lucky sensor sweep, only to have the chase continue.

Suffice to say, Mr. Quill is probably very famous locally at this moment, with some of the more sadistic residents probably thinking of the entire affair as entertainment as Star-Lord uses his element guns to pick off robots and guards as he goes.

By the time he's disappeared from everyones sight, a few dozen robots and about a dozen guards have fallen to Star-Lords imaginative use of the elements. One particularly interesting fight led to two robots being impaled on a surprise ice 'show' in the middle of the market.

They're still looking for him... but Star-Lord seems to have finally given them the slip after a half hour of activity, and they're searching.

Mon-El has posed:
Yep, Star-Lord now definitely has a reputation on Omega. And most of its rather unsavory residents found the chase rather entertaining. Hey, they usually have to pay to see the arena fights, it was nice to get a good show for free one time. As for the Alpha bots, they know he probably went out into the Frozen Wastes, but they have decided not to be bothered with following him there. He'll probably freeze to death anyway. Or maybe he'll just leave the planet. Either way, they don't really care. So a few of their people got killed and their champion is gone. Not like that wasn't something that happened on a regular basis anyway around these parts. The Daxamite may have been the longest-running undefeated gladiator, but now that he had been defeated, it's time for a new one. People get tired of the same guy over and over again, anyway.

So the crew is left in peace for now, at least. Sindr's candle flames provide some level of comfort against the cold for those who are affected by it, which doesn't include Lar. But now they're all sort of...just sitting around an ice cave in awkward silence.

Groot has posed:
Groot broke that awkward silence with a profound insight into the situation. "I am Groot." He repeated shaking his head at the irony of the situation, warming his hands by the fire and looking from Mon-El to Star Lord. "I am Groot."

Sindr has posed:
"Well," Sindr being next to speak, "now we have the Daxamite... Lar is your name, yes? I don't suppose you know aught about the princesses that were taken and being held here?" she inquires plainly, directing the majority of her attention at Lar. Groot and Quill remain in her periphery, in case there are cues that they have something to say, or whatever.

Should any sign that others are affected by the cold, she'll slowly turn up the heat on the flames to counter that without causing problems in the form of melting ice. She does not show sign of understanding Groot.

Star-Lord has posed:
It's around the first "I Am Groot." that Star-Lord finally comes around to where Sindr and Groot are. His jacket is singed in places, and if he were a normal human, he looks like he'd be barely standing. As it is, his durability seems to have allowed him to shrug off most of the pot shots at him.

"That was mildly fun." Peter offers with an upbeat tone, before he looks at Groot, "Happy to see you as well, buddy." Then, a look goes to Mon-El, "I'm assuming the machine I sent to machine heaven was what was keeping you controlled. It looked out of place, at least." Peter continues, ignoring Sindr's request for the two daughters entirely for now, "do we need to worry about anyone else while we're here searching?"

Gigas has posed:
Distant *BOOMS* rumble through the refuge cavern. Getting louder and closer and causing bits and chunks of ice to dislodge and fall from the roof of the hidey hole as the rumbles get closer and closer..and then finally--*TOOOM*!

A final shuddering rumble explodes just outside of the cavern as a plume of ice shards and mist billows up like a minature mushroom cloud. Out of this eruption, steps Gigas..shrunken back down to his more 'modest' 11 foot tall as opposed to his moree hyped up forms but still glowing with a light purple aura, displaying some bits of crackling energy as if he was off doing..something or another. Perhaps fighting errand scouts, serving as an additional distraction..whatever.

"Oh ho!" he booms, gregarious tone echoing loudly in the confines of the small space, "OUr sleeping prince is awake? Which one of you kissed him? I hear it is a popular Earth procedure to awaken someone in a coma.."

He gives little time to react to him as like Sindr he's all business and he bears down on Mon-El with a big grin on his features, moving to brush past anyone else and not giving much room to the reunion to play out, "NOw abou tthis princesses?" Maybe not the best move considering the last time Mon-El met Gigas. Er, the time before the last.

Mon-El has posed:
Sindr is straight to the point in immediately asking about the princeses. Lar nods at her slowly, still sort of getting his bearings. "Ugh...uhm--yes. Yes that is my name." he replies. "I--" He frowns pensively, before his eyes light up again with the memory of something. It was the last thing he remembered..."Oh--grife, that's right..." he rubs his head. "Thea and Teya. They...they were taken to some...club."

Then Star-Lord arrives, looking somewhat singed but nonetheless mostly fine. Right, he did meet that guy once before. But the rest of these people he's not so sure about. "Wait, who are you people anyway? I'm guessing someone told you about me...?" At least Groot introduces himself. "Uhm, oh. A pleasure to meet you, Groot." He sticks out a hand to be shaken. "I'm Lar." Then the introduction is repeated. "Uh--hello? Yes, your name is Groot."

He doesn't get a chance to pressure Groot any further though, as Gigas suddenly comes thundering in, causing shards of ice to fall onto everyone. He immediately through his hands up defensively. Okay what the hell is THIS guy doing here?! "Y-you!" he jumps up and backs against the cavern wall behind him. "What do -you- want with them?!"

Gigas has posed:
"Their father requests their safe return. There are others searching for them." says Gigas matter of factly, apparently with nothing ot hide. The factt hat he was once hired to 'persuade' Mon-El for some information some time ago seems to be a non issue, or forgotten by the giant.

Sindr has posed:
"Taken to some club; I asked on your behalf of course, my erstwhile companion, since you were busy entertaining our admirers while we slipped out here. Glad you made it." Sindr states quietly, not even the least bit mocking or having any doubt that he /would/ get here sooner or later. "Maybe you could... take a step back. Let his mind get clear again. I think there was about to be an entertaining misunderstanding just now." She smiles just a little, and then slides her gaze over to Star Lord. "And there are other questions."

Groot has posed:
Groot says, "I am Groot." He nods to Mon-El accepting his greeting. He looks at Gigas and nods. "I am Groot." He looks at Sindr and nods understandingly, "I am Groot." It is an understandable point. He looks at Star Lord and puts his palm under his chin, thinks for a few moments and the carefully outlines his plan. "I am Groot.""

Star-Lord has posed:
"We can find the girls anytime, but if we're being actively hunted by someone with some skill, we should know about that." Peter calmly explains to Sindr as she objects to him. Then, he looks to Groot, "Let's get some information first, before we start making any plans."

Then, he sits down on a piece of ice... just as Gigas 'walks' in, and he jumps to his feet, ready to fight. Only to stand down a moment later, "Oh, it's you." There's definite relief in that voice as he moves to sit down again, "We know the robots are hive minded now, at least." Star-Lord informs them.

Mon-El has posed:
Lar scrutinizes Gigas for a few more seconds after he answers the question, then nods, ascertaining that the giant blue man isn't lying. "Corlis..." he murmurs, and his gaze falls. He'd failed their family.

Groot gets a funny look. "I--uh." he glances around at the group. "Is he trying to tell me something?" Despite all of his super hearing, vision, and whatnot, it still seems to the Daxamite that all that's coming out of this guy is 'I am Groot'.

Still, Star-Lord brings up a valid point. "You're right. Hold on." There's a sudden blur of motion, as he flies out of the cave and up near the top of the glacier, floating there for a minute before coming back inside. "They are not searching for us any more. The girls are...enslaved at a club called the Arcadia."

Gigas has posed:
At first the giant bruiser is..displeased at the implications of delay, "My purpose here is the contract to take these princesses home. Rescuing your friend was a..what is the term I have heard..sidequest at best. "

Still, he cannot object to the need for more information, especially as..his initial plan for getting the information seems to have been up ended and as Sindr speaks and then Mon-El confirms and even provides a name, the anoyance evaporates and the more affable strongman returns.

"Aaah..perhaps I was mistaken. This is..a main storyline event! So then, we go get them." He points at Groot. "You have a plan?" he asks, though it is questionable if he actually understood Groot to begin with. "He has a plan?" he asks again, this time looking at Peter.

Groot has posed:
Groot says, "I am Groot." He explains his plan in greater detail while acknowledging Peter's point. He smiles at Mon-El and shrugs, "I am Groot." He nods to Gigas and says, "I am Groot.""

Sindr has posed:
Sindr chuckles. "For some, anyway." in response to Gigas' remark. "For others our crossed purposes simply align." She leaves this statement without explaination for the moment, nice and cryptic.

Idly, she twirls three of the candle-flames around her fingers as though they were naught but toys for her, and she waits - presumably to hear the plan thus far.

Gigas has posed:
"...I ....see.." rumbles Gigas while making a mental check to make sure his universal translator is working properly or up to date. He didn't catch all of that it seems. He maintains a grin, nevertheless, and just waits for someone else to fill in the blanks. Never let 'em see you sweat.

Star-Lord has posed:
"He wants to lay low for a while, but that doesn't sound like an option." There's a reason Peter is the leader of the Guardians, and it's showing in his planning skills for those who don't know him. "I'm going to be very recognizable right now, but I know Omega well enough to sneak my way back to Arcadia. I could probably find the girls easily enough, and this time we can have big boy here do the distracting." Peter gives a nod to Gigas, "get the bouncers and guards away, and I can do the rest."

Then, Groot continues, and Peter shrugs at him, "I'd love to lay low, buddy... but this was why we came here, right?"

Groot has posed:
Groot crinkles his mouth up in a meh. "I am Groot." He ticks off his fingers, "I am Groot. I am Groot. I am Groot." He shrugs and nods, "I am Groot." Then he spreads his hand out to those present, "I am Groot?" He shrugs.

Mon-El has posed:
Lar stares at Groot, as if trying to figure out if maybe he's speaking some incomprehensible language that Gigas and Star-Lord somehow know. "Right..." he says slowly. Then he arches a brow at Star-Lord. "Is that so? What exactly did you -do-?"

He shrugs, at any rate. "Anyway, that sounds like a plan. I...don't remember what happened back there, so someone will have to fill me in later, but I might end up doing more harm than good if I go charging in. Of course, if things go sideways, I can back you up."

Then Groot is holding out a hand. Was that supposed to be a belated handshake? Maybe? Lar tries to shake the hand.

Sindr has posed:
Sindr says, "I have no objection to the plan. I can easily provide some level of distraction, unless you think my talents are better served retrieving the princesses.""

Star-Lord has posed:
"Don't try to understand him. His language is very nuanced. If you're not one of his people, you need a specialized implant that can handle all the cues." Star-Lord offers in explanation to Mon-El, "Most of us in the Guardians have them." Then, he smirks, "I blew up the thing keeping you enslaved. You're welcome. One of the bots saw me, though."

Then, Star-Lord stands, and starts to walk over to the entry to the cave, "I'll let you all know when I'm in position. Just make your way to Arcadia for now." He disappears from sight with a backwards wave.
