Cast of Characters: Phoenix, Wolverine

Phoenix has posed:
Jean has been meaning to find Logan for a while now, today, she just so happened to have some free time. Finally. So she took on an expedition to track Logan with telepathy, because, how else do you find someone as sneaky as him? Curiously enough, it leads her to a classroom, the last place she expected to find him, still she walks in cautiously and calls out, "Logan...?"

Wolverine has posed:
Inside the classroom, no students are within. The day is mostly over save for some extracurricular classes or make up tests to be given. So in those confines it's just the Canadian mutant, though he does have a manila folder that must have been pulled from the desk. It's set on the desktop, partially opened and with some papers fanned for perusal. His brow is furrowed in concentration and he's frowning, though the sound of her voice causes him to lift his eyes towards her.
"Jean." He frowns and looks back at the papers, then takes up three of them. "You know the Ludlow kid and that other one he hangs out with all the time, Joey Payne?" He pushes the papers across the desk towards her and grunts.
"Heard 'em talkin' about cheatin' off that Monohan girl in some test." He grimaces.

Phoenix has posed:
"Wow...you're...doing work," Jean wasn't expecting that one, and offers a weak smile by way of apology for her comment. "I'm sorry, I'm just used to you complaining about having to do the mundane, I'm actually very impressed." She walks further into the classroom, starting towards Logan, "so what are you going to do about it, teacher?" She asks with a wry smile, knowing full well his first option might be to bash their heads against the wall, but he'll have to make do with a stern talking to instead.

Wolverine has posed:
"Ehn," He says sidelong, not look at her yet. "Sorta. Just heard 'em talkin' and it pissed me off." Logan turns to face her and quirks an eyebrow. "Hell, I dunno. Figured I'd tell whoever's class this is and let them sort out the mess of it. Don't think that Monohan girl is in on it, think Ludlow just used his eyeball trick thing to get a gander on her answers."
Then he waves his hand to the side, "Anyways, not my problem." There's the old Logan, but he looks back at the papers and scowls. It probably weighs on him some way at the least.
But it's back to her, "What didja need, Jeanie?"

Phoenix has posed:
"Rightfully so..." Jean agrees, cheating never helps a student better themselves, ever. "I think that's the best call, inform the teacher, let them handle it. I'm sure they know just what to do. There's a lesson to be learned, but every now and then, you know...lessons are learned, even if you're the teacher..." the way Jean's voice trails off, brings her back to what she was looking to Logan for. "Honestly? I just want to apologize to you. Because I owe you that much."

Wolverine has posed:
The incredulity in his tone is clear as he cocks an eyebrow and looks at her, "Fer what?" He asks openly, and she can sense in his surface thoughts that he literally has no idea what she'd need to apologize to him for. "You mean yer weird future daughter?" His lip twists, "Yeah she's pretty out there."
That said though he smirks and starts to step past her, the traditional Logan evasion. But something in the way she's standing, the look on her face, makes it clear that he should probably just wait and hear her out.

Phoenix has posed:
"For being mean to you," Jean laughs, reaching to tap Logan on the shoulder, a bit embarrassed to admit it. "What I said to you about leaving when I asked you to look after Laura the first time around...?" She grins when he suggests it's about her weird future daughter, "something along those lines actually."

"Really?" Jean looks a bit surprised as Logan starts on his trademarked disappearing act in mid-sentence, "you're not walking out on my apology, are you?" The way she looks at Logan, suggests she's reconsidering her apology in the first place. When he stays put, she continues, "so...now that I have a daughter out of nowhere myself, I realize how scary it is, how shocking it is, and I find I'm not being the best 'mom' out there. Hell, I'm not even dating anyone...it's super weird!" Jean admits with a frown on her face, "I want to do right by her, but I'm also scared, very scared...and I wanted to apologize to you, for daring to question you. I know better now...it wasn't about Laura, it was about you..."

Wolverine has posed:
She can see his eyes widen a bit as he's caught and he then looks to her. "Alright alright, I'm not walking out. Here." And as if to make a point he pulls around one of the student desks, really a bit too small for him and then takes a seat in it. So small that if he got up quickly the whole thing would come with it. So he folds his hands _nicely_ together and looks up at her with wide blue eyes affecting what one might imagine is innocent look of someone seeking learning.
It might be perhaps one of the most terrifying things someone has seen from Logan.
But he opens a hand, "See, now you know how it feels ta have a family person show up outta the blue. All, 'Heya, I'm yer daughter.'" He smirks a little but then shifts back to what she was mentioning earlier. "And you know... you neve gotta apologize ta me, Jean."

Phoenix has posed:
"Good, I was hoping you'd stay, apologizing isn't easy, even for me!" Hey, Jean just admited she's not just Ms. Perfect, so that's something. Then Logan settles in the student desk, and gives her that look, and Jean just cracks up laughing, "Logan! Try and be serious about it!"

"Well, I do, and I felt you deserved my apology. I was all over you, and it was bitchy of me, because you didn't deserve it." She then grins and quips, "on the bright side, I heard Scott outright fainted when he met Rachel for the first time, so at least I'm stronger than that..."

Wolverine has posed:
"S'truth, he did." Logan gives a solemn nod though his smirk is alive, glimmering with a warmth that can only provided by a Summers rendered unconscious. He takes a deep breath and says, "Well. I'm still of the mind you don't need ta apolgogize, Jean. But I appreciate it." He sliiides out of that desk and steps towards her, pausing to halfway smile, "S'alright, can I go now teach?"
He then stops and eyes the desk sidelong, then scoops up the three tests from the desk and tucks them under one arm. He looks back at Jean and murmurs, "I figure I might as well go scare the bejeezus out of some lil punks and then tell.." He looks down at the desk.
"Psylocke was teachin' this class? Thought she was doin... P.E.?"

Phoenix has posed:
"I wish I was there to see it, how does Hank call him? Fearless? Well, there's one obstacle that bested him..." not a fair play by Jean, she was just very good at putting her feeling aside and pretending she's in a play instead of her own life, just to keep up appearances, all her lessons with Xavier made her very good at that. "Yes, you can go teach," Jean smiles and reaches to embrace Logan when he gets out of that student chair.

"Oh yeah, she asked to teach P.E. instead, she's had enough with us Americans and our horrid English," Jean winks at Logan.

Wolverine has posed:
"That's right, you Americans are a /mess/." The Canadian mutant says sternly as he starts to walk out the room but he pauses long enough to slip a strong arm around Jean's shoulders and pull her close for a rough but warm hug, squeezing her arm gently before he slips free and continues on that trek to the door.
"With Pryde back we should take some time this week with the old gang and go get some grub somewhere good." He says this as he's walking backwards down the hall, but then he turns back around, lifting the tests in one hand to wave towards her. "Ok seeya."

Phoenix has posed:
"Why I never!" Jean feigns being offended when the Canadian joins in the British gang up on the American language, "just remember, Pryde is in the American corner!" Jean reminds, before returning the embrace, which honestly, she kind of needed. "See you around, Logan, and I want to make that happen, get the ol' gang back together for fun times for once."
