Shots In The Night
Date of Scene: 17 February 2019
Location: New York City
Synopsis: Shots in the night as Ravager's firefight stumbles into Warpath
Cast of Characters: Ravager, Warpath

Ravager has posed:
Rose Wilson is pinned down in a rooftop of an apartment build in New York City, as some assorted thugs take shots on her position randomly from across the roof. She is trapped there and can't reach the fire escape without exposing her position so she can't get out of there. "Fuck off!" she yells at them. She is dressed her full Ravager regalia, but she looks angry even while wearing her black and orange mask. Assorted guns are discarded at her feet and she has one gun left, which she uses to take pot shots with but she tries to conserve ammo.

Warpath has posed:
A few blocks away, James Proudstar is making his way down the street. Though he doesn't have anything menacing about his expression, people seem to be giving the seven feet tall Native American a wide birth most of the time. He gets a few stares despite being well dressed. Boots sticking out from his jeans, a button up shirt and a nice jacket overtop. He's going without a coat tonight despite the cool February night.

He crosses a street at a crosswalk, eyes glancing about the area as something catches his ears. Those cracks, too soft for anyone else to hear. Gunshots? It is difficult to tell at this distance and with the echoing. He listens again, picking a direction he thinks they may be coming from, and starts to walk in that direction with a more determined stride. As likely to be a few gang members firing off shots as anything that he would get involved in. But he rarely can hear something like this and just stand by and not feel a need to know what might be happening. Too many bad things have happened that could have been stopped, had someone cared enough to check.

Ravager has posed:
Ravager takes a shot at one of the thugs which distracts them for a second so she can run from her hiding place. The remaining thugs begin to shoot at her. PEW PEW! "Fuck!" she yells and she has to dive for the fire escape and she wrenches her arm grabbing the railing, "ARGH!" she lets out, but at least she didn't fall to her doom. She does tumble down the stairs however, with the thugs in hot pursuit. They shout something loud in Chinese as they come out of their hiding places and start after her. Ravager ends up in front of Proudstar and starts to get up, but she better hurry or she's dead meat!

Warpath has posed:
James Proudstar's steps take the large Native American through the city streets. The gunfire continues, quickening his step. Pausing at an alley, hearing voices now. Cursing. James's boots echo on the pavement as he moves to a slow jog, head turned to listen more closely. The smell of expended gunpowder starts to reach his sensitive nose.

Closer, and then there's a clatter. The fire escape. A form falling down the stairs that make up the bottom portion. James moves over as he sees the costumed woman. More shots ring out, and it becomes abundantly clear it is the woman that they are shooting at. James was too slow to do anything about those shots, but moves to cover her with his body. He scoops an arm under her to try to help Ravager to her feet. He will begin running with her, and if she is unable to run, will try to scoop her up in his arms, which should not be a difficult feat for him.

Ravager has posed:
Ravager grabs onto James as she starts to get up, looking down but not out, after that tumble and escape from the thugs. One of them on the fire escape takes a shot at them and Rose ducks down, hoping James thinks of something quick to help them escape. She raises her gun and takes some shots at the fire escape but can't connect. She then grabs James and encourages him, "Come on, get the hell out of here!" she yells.

Warpath has posed:
James Proudstar grabs hold of Ravager and all the sudden he jumps. They leave the ground way behind, sailing up about five stories and towards what looks like an abandoned apartment building. James rotates in the air, wrapping his arms about the injured woman and turning his back towards the building. They crash through the window in a shower of glass, but James Proudstar's body takes all of the impact and the slashes of the sharp glass fragments. He lands on his feet, though skids and leaves a hole in the dry wall when he hits a wall. He cradles Ravager through all of it though, the immensely tall and muscular man completely shielding her from the impacts.

Ravager has posed:
The thugs race through the alley looking for James and Rose but find no sign of them. They look up to the building but it could be a while before they spot where they went. However, these guys are smarter than Rose estimated in the first place. She puts a hand to her head and sits up, "You crazy asshole..." she mutters, "They're going to find us," she reminds him, "ARG," she lets out as she turns her arm but holds onto her elbow, as it looks like she hurt herself.

Warpath has posed:
James Proudstar glances towards the window. "I don't know if they saw the jump. If not, they will have many buildings to search," James says. The enormous Native American has a deep voice, but speaks quietly. "Your arm? Were you hit by a shot?" he asks her. He reaches out a hand towards that arm, but doesn't try to take it and examine her, waiting to see if the costumed woman offers it to him or not.

Ravager has posed:
Ravager swipes her arm back away from James, "I'm fine, ass," she tells him. She then grabs the wall as she tries to get up and does so eventually. She then checks her gun which is secure at her hip and glances at the hole James made in the wall, distinctly staking her head at the. She then walks toward the door to the apartment they've crashed into.

Warpath has posed:
James Proudstar's nose twitched as he draws in a breath, smelling for whether she's bleeding or not to get an idea of whether it is just sprained somehow, or bleeding. Not to mention checking on himself and the floor around them. Curiously, there doesn't seem to be any sign of him being hurt by the crash through the window. Though he takes off his jacket and removes some shards of glass that are still stuck through his jacket.

Going to need a new jacket.

James watches the woman walk away, frowning slightly and then glancing back at the window, considering the people who were firing at her.
