Date of Scene: 23 February 2019
Location: Medical Lab - X-Men Base
Synopsis: Magneto and Kitty Pryde show concern for Lorna's burns suffered fighting Sentinels in Gotham
Cast of Characters: Polaris, Shadowcat, Magneto

Polaris has posed:
The metal from Lorna's armored suit had been discarded and left behind on the stage, super heated and dangerous to the touch otherwise, Kitty's quick thinking had saved everyone's hands from being scorched. Beneath, Lorna's bodysuit had more or less been flame proof, but it hadn't stopped the heat from transferring to her skin. There had been a painful flight back and deposit to the medbay, but everyone had made it out and back to the X-men's base.

Once there, the green haired mutant had been stripped down and tucked into a hospital gown. A slathering of burn ointment had been applied to the parts of her skin that throbbed and were stained an angry, loud red that never should have been. Her armor and her force field had deflected the worst of it, but her hands and a few other places where worse for wear. Her hair still was scorched in places, adding a layer of burnt smell that lingered and refused to leave just yet. The nurses were afraid of putting her into cold water just yet. But she'd been given pain killers, her palms were wrapped and she was told to rest before trying anything further.

Much to her annoyance and her irritation.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde rides along with Lorna, gently holding her hand and squeezing it from time to time to provide moral support until they make it back to the hangar. Kitty radios ahead so the med bay will be ready for her.

Then everyone hurries her in and Kitty just goes and stands by, letting the more medically trained team members take care of things. "You going to be ok, Lorna?" the young woman asks her, moving back over to Lorna's side once the medical treatments have been administered.

"Do you want anything from your rooms? Book or tablet or anything I could grab for you?" Kitty inquires. "I could grab you a bowl of ice cream or something to drink." Lockheed comes flying into the room, moving over to land on Kitty's shoulder and curl up about her neck.

Magneto has posed:
Magneto had brought the sentinel head along with him. Trailing behind the Blackbird. Once it was deposited, he made his way directly to the medbay. Whoever walked alongside him was coincidental. He already made his intent to speak with Jean and Scott known.

The white and silver clad King was still in all his regalia. His costume was a statement to those who saw him as one of the worlds biggest terroristic threats. As soon as the medbay door hisses open, he rushes to join Lorna. "What's her status?" He asks, a semi-demanding tone, he was still very concerned was all. His blue eyes look over the Princess, her bandaged state had him concerned, but there were many things on his mind right now, along with being on their turf.

Polaris has posed:
Everything ached, a small throbbing pain as if she'd had the world's worst sunburn. Not that she ever got sunburns. Her magnetic fields naturally threw off the Sun's natural radiation like it was nothing, she'd never needed sunblock. But now, she figured, this must be what it felt like. Her skin was tight and ached to the touch in the places that had caught the heat from her metal armor. The slathered on burn cream was helping but even then, it would take a while for the pain killers to truly kick in.

"I'm fine. I'll be fine.. If you want to grab something.. my tablet. Sure.. I don't think I could hold a book just now.." She grimaced, looking down at her bandaged hands that still ached. The skin was damaged, but not to the point of needing skin grafts.. luckily. She'd been lucky. Insanely so.

As her father approached, the doors swinging open, Lorna winced. "I'm fine Dad, I'm still awake and talking you know." Her voice filled with no small amount of grumbling. She hated being in the medbay, moreover, she knew her father had an over protective streak.. and well, this wasn't going to help things in the least.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde moves over out of the way to let Magnetoat his daughter. Though she watches the man with what, for Kitty, is a little bit of a hard gaze. Still, he is there out of concern for his daughter, so the young woman seems to try to push the worst of that from her expression.

"Sure, I'll get it for you," Kitty tells Lorna, a smile coming readily to her face for the woman if not for her father. Though Kitty doesn't depart, staying over on the side and watching for the moment. It isn't that she doesn't trust Magneto.

Actually yes. Yes it is.

Magneto has posed:
"When I..." He sighs, then looks to Lorna again. "I feared the worst." He did have a bit of an overprotective streak in him. But he was also a fighter, always had been.

"These Sentinels, they do not bode well for us. Just the start of it all over again. Herding us like cattle and placing us in camps." His outfit was very white with black accents, and of course, his helmet was adorned with sharp angles around the exposed areas around his face.

"Samuel introduced me to someone...from the future. She showed me what happens in the future, Lorna. And it cannot come to pass."

Polaris has posed:
A soft smile crossed her features as Kitty promised to get her the tablet. it was something at least that would keep her occupied over night. Which she realized was very likely going to happen as the Nurses buzzed about wanting to make sure that plasma burns from a Sentinel remained just that and nothing more. She sighed however as her father started to speak and stop briefly. She stared, not catching Kitty's hostile silence beside her.

"It was a plasma beam, I just.. I wasn't paying attention. I should have had my fields up. That's all. I learned to be more careful." She shrugged lightly, and as her father continued her expression darkened.

"Is that why you left Genosha to come over here? What about Genosha? You're King." Unsaid was the accusation that he shouldn't leave his island nation. She had left it for a selfish desire for a break. To see her friend and help the X-men where she could.. as well as to see to Genosha's interests abroad.. But she was just a Princess to the place. Not its ruler.

"And... who are you talking about from the future?" She asked slowly, she'd heard about Rachel.. but whether or not it was the same person was up in the air.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde seems to think she knows which person from the future. Her mouth presses into a hard line for a moment, before a thought seems to strike her. A little of that hostility fades for a moment as she seems to be speculating something as she looks at Erik. No, don't think of him as Erik. Here? He's Magneto.

Kitty moves across the room to over near the door. Leaning back against it, arms crossing. Lockheed lifts his head from where he's curled up around her neck, giving her a little poke with his snout. Kitty reaches up, rubbing with her fingers, the dragon's presence improving her mood slightly.

Magneto has posed:
"I was making a visit to Mutant Town, opening a resource center for those wishing to move." It just so happened to be after what had been a slightly tension-filled protest.

"It isn't enough to make a statement against the governments. They need to be sent a message, that they are dangerous and in the wrong hands, bring fourth a new shoah. I lived through the first, I cannot stand idly by when another is looming on the precipice." Magneto keeps his head towards Lorna while he addresses Kitty. "You know what I am speaking of, yes?" He asks, standing from the bed and looking directly to Kitty. "Rachel. The refugee from time."

Polaris has posed:
A sigh pulled from her lips, shoulders slumping as Lorna leaned back against the hospital bed and fought against the exhaustion pulling at her frame as the pain killers started to kick in fully. "You could easily have asked me to help open a resource center, I was just there for the job fair..." She trailed off, her expression turning even more mournful as her father brought up the importance of it all.

Lorna's gazez swung toward Kitty as her father brought her back into the conversation and brought up Rachel. So, it had been the same person after all.

"I'm not saying that there's not a chance another genocide might happen, there's been dozen since.." What you went through. She pursed her lips, shaking her head briefly. It just hadn't been on the scale of millions that her father had gone through and it sounded like that was what waited them in the future.

"Then we need to make sure Genosha is safe. Where else in the world is there a concentration of mutants like that? If they throw those Sentinels at us, what can we do to save those without powers? As important as it is to help people get there if they want to be there... we have to protect those on our shores already, father." Her eyebrows crinkled, a sharp furrow on her brow.

"I haven't just been sitting here for the past month.. I've been doing everything I can to help our people." She mumbled, her voice hushed.

Shadowcat has posed:
As Magneto speaks of a new shoah, more of the hardness of Kitty's expression fades. Her eyes drift away from father and daughter, her thoughts drifting to something else. Her hand on Lockheed tightens a little bit, until the dragon gives her fingers a soft nip, causing Kitty to start and snap her out of her thoughts.

She looks back just in time to find Magneto turning to address her.

Does she know what he's speaking of. The Jewish young woman gives a nod of her head, her expression more pained than not.

The mention of Rachel seems to snap Kitty's thoughts to something else. Oh, he was talking about Rachel, not...

Kitty clears her throat and nods back to Magneto. "Yes. I guess you and I played a similar role in her life. Worked together even, I imagine," Kitty says. That thought might have normally brought a more severe expression from Kitty. Though it doesn't this time. Kitty clears her throat again. "You should keep Genosha safe," she says, offering Lorna her support.

Magneto has posed:
"Lorna, you do great things for Genosha. But there are things that when done by a King, have much more gravitas. Once my business here is done, I will return to her shores, in the mean time, she is safe." His tone is stern, but not angered. "Or is your protest part of something else?" Magneto asks, looking to Lorna again, then back to Kitty. "It was her future, caused by these Sentinels, that I aim to make sure doesn't happen. And for that, mutants need to be united, not divided on if I or Charles has the better philosophy. How many more must be maimed or die protesting these things before the X-Men can get past my own actions and see that I am holding the olive branch?"

Polaris has posed:
A grimace twisted Lorna's lips as she sagged back heavily against the pillows of the hospital bed. She loved and respected her father, even if she didn't necessarily trust his judgement of things entirely.. She shifted, trying to cross her arms with a pained hiss of a breath. "I don't want you to leave Genosha unguarded, I love Genosha. I trust you to take care of it and its people. You're their hope, their King. I don't know how else to put it. Even people that dislike you there, can see that symbolically, you're more than just Magneto there." She exhaled a breath, her lips still pursed into a pained line as her skin scraped against the hospital sheets. It wasn't comfortable, not by a long shot. The normally soft fabric, might as well have been sand paper to her.

She sighed, her eyes feeling heavy against the lull of sleep. "I want to be able to do something to help our people, and I can't do that if I'm worried about Genosha's safety. That's why I'm worried and arguing with you. That's all." She stifled a yawn.

"And I love you dad, but people here don't." Her hand flopped in a gesture. Did she mean the Mansion or America in general? Perhaps both. Either way, it was clear that the drugs the Nurses had given her were kicking in. She wasn't usually quite so vocal in regards to parental affection in front of others. And the way her voice dipped and her eyelids kept fluttering proved it.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde crosses her arms and looking a little troubled by thoughts that leave pieces not fitting together as smoothly as they once did for her. "I'm concerned by what she saw in her future too. Her time is not our time in a few ways that may matter. But consider this, who is to say which dream would be a key to preventing what happened in her world?" Kitty says to Magneto.

She clears her throat again and pushes off the wall she's leaning against, going over to Lorna. "I'll leave your tablet down here," she tells her friend. Kitty walks over towards the door, pausing to turn back at Magneto as if expecting him to join her now in departing.

Magneto has posed:
"They don't need to love me. But one cannot argue that I am a formidable opponent against these new foes. By any means, I am returning to Genosha on Monday. I still have business to attend to." He reaches a white gloves hand to squeeze Lorna's, instead of a hug, since she is still sore. "Focus on healing for now."

Magneto looks to Kitty as he walks out of the medbay. "I assume Forge may want to have a look at that Sentinel's head I left in the hangar. Please inform him you have it." Since she's the only X-Men member present.
