Why is it Easier to Communicate in Masks
Date of Scene: 24 February 2019
Location: Crime Alley
Synopsis: Red Hood crosses path with Robin and Batwoman. They share information on the goings on around Gotham before heading their separate ways.
Cast of Characters: Red Hood, Robin (Wayne), Batwoman

Red Hood has posed:
Crime Alley is a crossing point for patrols that the various Bats make around the city. After being down for a few days due to injury, Red Hood has returned to the footwork. Moving from rooftop to rooftop, the hooded vigilante is near the end of his patrol route. Landing on an overlook of the Park Row Theatre, he waits.

The news has gotten out around the city of the Sentinel attack in Kingston Park - and with the increased police presence because of it, most of the city has been actually - sort of quite for the evening. Perhaps it is fear that there are more of the giant metal monstrosities about. "Not even a mugging in process." he grunts, perhaps in frustration.

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
"For a 'hell hole' it has been extremely quiet. Must be the aftermath of the Sentinels." Damian calls in on the batcomms. Though Robin was close, dropping by Crime Alley, and with a fast grapple, landing in the rooftops across the theatre as well.

Batwoman has posed:
Kate's presence is difficult to discern. Even one of the Bat-family- two of which are present- would have to be a little on edge to have heard her coming. To be fair, moments where anyone in that group of people are not riding tight are excessively, if not exceedingly rare. It comes from having your erstwhile mentor, patron, boss, technically-dad, literally-dad, and so on constantly sneaking up on you at all hours of the night, day, and somehow in-between.

The speech, though, doesn't come over the comms. Kate probably is a little closer than either Damian or Jason are comfortable with her being before they know she's there- but that's just to be expected, and she's certainly not within arm's reach when she speaks up. "You almost sound disappointed." she remarks, to Jason, taking her own survey not of the streets, but of the other rooftops surrounding them. Three of their kind on a rooftop is almost an invitation for some group of more aware than normal thugs to just drop out of nowhere.

Red Hood has posed:
"Don't know if they're more scared of the Sentinels or if Magneto is going to come back and wrap the whole damn place into one big ball of tin-foil and throw it out." comes Jason's response as he straightens up when Damian arounds. "Gotten used to trying to get the drop on me. Must be my birthday. Or Christmas." There's a slight smirk beneath the helmet. "Showed up in the aftermath." he starts to say, when Kate suddenly speaks up.

"Sonuva - someone should put a bell on you." he remarks to Kate, shaking off his thought to get back on tasks. "..either one of you run into any ninjas that have been working the east end of the city? Gray pajamas, purple accent. Most of them are strip-mall-dime-store types, but apparently they've got some upper tiers running with them. Go by the Foot."

Robin (Wayne) has posed:
Damian popped open a cache of water, little places around the city where a Bat can get untampered water. It was part of the support network Batman had in place to keep on Patrol as long as possible without returning to a cave.

Robin pulled out a bottle and started drinking. "No, I have not. But I doubt they can stand up against a League assassin." Damian looked to Batwoman, someone he had only seen once before on the computer feeds. "I thought you'd be taller." He comments idly, drinking more.

Batwoman has posed:
There's a pause, as Kate considers Jason's statement. "I haven't run into ninjas matching -that- description." Truth be told, they've all likely run into a lot of different types of ninjas, both self-described and otherwise. "Did hear a little about something like that, though. One of the independents in Gotham tussled with some people matching that description, and some metahumans that were with them. Ask the computer and see if you can meet up with them. Might get some answers."

Her attention shifts to Damian, as he drinks, and her deadpan delivers a single word- "Likewise."

Red Hood has posed:
"Did you forget you're not the only one with that training, pup?" Jason rumbles, "The rabble was the easy part. There's someone that's leading them though. Don't know if she's their leader, but she's well trained in the arts. And I don't mean fingerpainting and play-doh, like you." he responds to Damian, holding out a hand for a bottle of water. "Been getting reports from my contacts that they've taken out the Tigers - and nearly took out Sal Maroni." The name should be familiar to them both as an older mobster - a rarity when it comes to Gotham and it's mob bosses.

"Don't worry, he'll get taller when he hits puberty." comes Jason's quip, before he nods. "Just something to keep an eye out for." He looks between the two, amusement beneath the helmet coming out in a little chuff. "There was a hit in the chaos of the Sentinel attack earlier tonight. Professional. Single shot. Saw the police and coroner clearing out the body in the aftermath."

Batwoman has posed:
Kate nods along with Jason's rundown, eyeing the two of them as they bicker. She remains quiet until Jason is done, but she does address the nature of Jason's alert. "That's what I was talking about. Apparently that commander was there. Might be some insight- or some backup. Either way, I'm going to keep an eye out for them. If I take any in, I'll be sure to give you a call."

Raising a brow after that, Kate turns a little, having been somewhat sidelong to the two until then. "Do you have a line on the victim, or the shooter?" She's not asking for an identity, but if there's any evidence that Jason can offer, she'll take it. Two sets of eyes and ears, after all, are better than one.

Red Hood has posed:
"Unlike tall, dark, and broody, I can't just show up down there and start asking questions. Something about my charming personality just sets them off." Jason comments dryly. The GCPD is just as likely to try to take him in than try to give him any information. "I sent the info to Oracle, she hasn't responded yet - but I figrued someone with closer police ties might be able to find out more. Maybe start with video from the event - see if you can glean anything."

Is Jason giving Kate a mission? Maybe. He has this way of just doing that every now and again. "I'm going to try to follow up on where the Friends of Humanity got their hands on a pair of Mk Is that were supposed to be rusting away in a scrap yard in Russia."

Batwoman has posed:
They're giving each other missions, to some degree. It's more along the lines of 'this isn't my investigation, here's what I know' for each of them. Batwoman has given the Hood an avenue for the Foot. He's giving her something to go on for the assassination.

Nodding along, she takes that information in and pulls a grapnel from her belt. "You do that. Let me know how it goes." Then, with a light pop, she launches the grapnel onto a higher roof- and with a few moments' wait, she'll be gone, into the night.

Red Hood has posed:
As he watches Kate leave, Jason's eyes trail her until she disappears. "I prefer the original redhead bat." he rumbles, before he takes out his own grapple gun. Firing it off, he moves towards where he stashed his cycle to get back home. He's still recovering from his battle with Karai and needs a little more time to heal.
