Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Gambit, Rogue

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau is on the pommel horse, angling his body left and right, long sweeping motions that are deceptively simple to an observer. He pulls himself into a handstand, doing a few vertical pushups on it. Sweat colors the back of his shirt and down his chest beading on his forehead as he dismounts.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue had finished the mission in Gotham and was back at base now, others had gone to the medical ward to tend to Lorna's injuries, but she had seen Remy in here on her way past the gym's open entrance. She averts her course and starts toward him, she's wearing a dark green bodysuit that has a hood pulled up over her her head. She'd had a dark green mask on up over her mouth and nose too, but that was pulled down around her throat now, and a pair of red goggles are resting up on her forehead. As she draws near to him, her wedge-heeled boots stop and she places her hands onto her hips. She just stares at him and his gymnastics practice.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau lands with a back flip, immediately going over to get a towel and a bottle of water. "Yah back, 'Ow did t'ings go in Got'em?" he asks with a grin, knowing she was there without really looking in her direction. He seems, at least for the moment, fairly well at ease... He hadn't seen anyone heading to the med lab yet.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue watches his fancy dismount and then she raises her right hand up and pushes her hood back off of her head. Her brown hair is tied back into a braided bun on the back of her head and her white bangs are loosely laying against the sides of her face. She turns and walks over to a exercise machine to sit down on its leather covered bench. She leans back against the metal frame of the bench and exhales. "Lorna's in the med bay. A Sentinel electrified her metal armor, it burned her up pretty bad." She replies, quiet voice. "Two of the big things, came online and just... King Kong'd their way free'a their controllers, started firing on mutants in the crowd."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau exhales softly, pinching the bridge of his nose slightly. It's a common expression from him, that can convey frustration, annoyance, or..as in this case, prayer. She can see his lips moving silently as he asks the almighty to be with the woman. He doesn't really do it consciously. Heck he would normally say he isn't even that religious.. He walks over and sits beside her taking her gloved hand in his own. "What are de numbers?" he asks softly, knowing if those...things went wild they could be very bad.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's hand is encased in a sportier glove than usual, higher tech than usual too, its apart of the suit she's wearing which was designed for night time missions where she could fly in the sky and avoid detection devices more easily. But she liked it mostly because it was warmer than her other suits, mask and gauntlets made flying in winter winds easier to bare... she was mostly invulnerable, but she still hates being cold.

"Nobody really knows." Rogue replies to him. "They were more active in the east, China'n such. But now they're floodin in over here since the black sleep incident." She pauses a second and looks up to him, her head shaking right to left. "Magneto showed up. He finished the fight pretty quick, as he tends t'do. But, there's probably gonna be a lot more fights yet t'come."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau nods a bit, a slight smirk coming to his lips. "Oui, not'ing like 'aving de so-called MAster of MAgnetism show up ta wreck 'avok on a bunch of oversized tin cans." He says playfully. He pulls her close to him, embracing her softly. She can feel that static field come over him before he lightly kisses the top of her head. Something he very rarely does outside of the privacy of one of their private rooms.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue leans against him then and she tilts her head toward his shoulder as he kisses to the top of it, her hair is soft and smells sweet like flowers. "They're gonna stop make'em outta metal. They'll come up with somethin' else. I can see it already. They're redesignin' these things every time I see one, its new and different. Its like they're just testin' what works and what doesn't." She then looks back up at him. "I mean cars are barely even metal anymore... But, whatever, I'll just smash every last one'a them, if Magneto can't." She intertwines her fingers with his then speaks again. "Scott told me about your plan t'make a new team. I hope it works out well."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau nods slightly and gives her hand a squeeze. "Oh? An' 'ow did dat go ovah?" he asks with a slight bit of amusement in his voice. It's strange but there is always that level of peace he seems to find when he is with her. Like the mutual storms they carry with them somehow cancel each other out.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's green eyed gaze goes down to their hands and she returns the squeeze, with restraint obviously. "I told him that you're gonna do whatever ya wanna do, regardless'a what him'n anyone else say you 'should' do." She replies at first before she reaches up with her other hand to stroke some of her white hair out of her face off of her nose. "Which Scott said he understands and thats why he said what he said t'ya. He believes its a chance for you t'show'em all you can lead a team."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau nods slightly, "He look at me an' he see a shiftless wastrol. A t'ief an' conman." He shrugs slightly, "Not 'is fault dats pretty much what Ah show 'im. Still a lil bit frustrating not ta be taken seriously, yah know?" he asks mildly.

Rogue has posed:
"Of course I do." Rogue replies softly back at him as she glances back up at him again. "Scott's got high standards, really high... maybe far too high even and well, Jean's prone t'agree with him on that kinda level'a expectations outta people. We do dangerous stuff around here, and they don't want us t'get hurt or worse. If I hadn't... ya know, taken all'a Carol's training and what-not, I'd not even be where I am on the team right now. I'd be a New Mutant still, most likely."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau smirks a bit, "Ah somewhat doubt dat chere. Yah allot more den just Carol Danvers powers." He says with a smile. "If not'ing else that Raven Darkholme's daughter. If yah weren't a flying brick as it were Ah c'n imagine dare woul' be a 'undred an' one ways de X-MEn be able ta make use of yah." He nuzzles her neck playfully and adds "Ah got a use or two in mind foh yah too, non?" though it's said with his mild flirty manner meant to make the normally shy girl blush, nothing more.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue huffs softly at the first part of what he says back to her. "Adopted." She corrects him about Mystique and her relationship. "And that wasn't even legal, really." She doesn't know the full extent of Mystique's interest in her, she hasn't even seen or spoken to Mystique in years (That she knows of!).

The second part of what he says, the tease, makes laugh a little and she shakes her head. "I can't even imagine what those things could ever possibly be, Remy LeBeau." She responds, looking over at him then with a sly smirk. "Other than gettin' yourself sprawled out on a medical bed for days, or weeks, or more at a time." He may be able to touch her lightly here and there, but she knows he can't do much more than that, regardless of what either of them might want.

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau smirks a little bit, his eyes dancing with that hellfire mischief that he is known for. "Oh yah might be amazed at jus' what all Remy could do wit' jus' a few minutes." He says playfully, but also with a tone that says "If you are willing, I'd show you." He's pretty sure however she's not ready to go there yet. They'd even been engaged once upon a time... and yet every level of intimacy often feels like "Moving too fast."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue holds her smile then and she stares at him as he says these things. When he finishes she looks away and shakes her head. "Risk is pretty high." She says back to him. "Thats my major hesitation in playin' games like that, I don't wanna witness it go south, like a rocket sled." A breath is drawn in and she looks back over at him once more. "You're one'a the only people around here I got who talks t'me on a personal level, ya know. Last thing I need is t'have ya end up..." She tips her chin toward the direction of the med lab further into the base. "In there, like that... corpse who looks like me."

Gambit has posed:
The Cajun hesitates for a moment, and then says in his serious tone, the one devoid of playfulness that could be misunderstood, "Chere, yah trust me right? Yah trust dat Ah'd nevah 'urt yah on purpose. And dat Ah'd nevah put /yah/ t'rough dat sort of nightmare. Well on mah honor as a T'ief, yah 'ave mah word, if yah ever let t'ings progress ta dat level, and Ah felt even de stirings of fatigue ta me loosing control of mah field. Ah would pull away an' stop it. Even if it meant de mot'er of all cold showers afterwards.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue doesn't seem fully convinced, but then she's the one that has to absorb the people and deal with the memories, the emotional mood swings it causes, the rush to contain threatening mutations or powersets that she doesn't fully understand, the backlash on a social level and so many other things. "Maybe." She says back to him either way and she parts her lips to draw in a deep breath. She absorbed him back on that wedding night in Paris, or whoever it was that stood on the threshold of matrimony with her while pretending to be him... its all confusing inside her head, as it is inside many others who remember it and were present for it.

Rogue looks back over at him. "There's a reason they call me trouble, ya know." She says, showing a light smirk up at him.

Gambit has posed:
That pink field surrounds him, giving her ample warning for what he is about to do Then he reaches under her chin and lifts her face, bringing his lips a fraction of a fraction of an inch from her own. "An' when 'ave yah evah known me ta back away from trouble, hmm?" he asks playfully before kissing her. Long slow and deep.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue isn't one to shy away from a good touch from him if she can get it and he's the one who swears up and down that its possible. So she just accepts it, the kiss, and returns it, but before he can deliver it she has to whisper back to him. "Its your funeral, Cajun." And then she moves to allow the kiss, his energy protection field enough to keep them safe from her mutation's wrath? She's still not sure of that, still certain its going to get him like its gotten others, for her advantage and to her great dismay.

Gambit has posed:
IT's a long kiss. Perhaps the longest they've ever shared. Slow and exploratory... taking his time and letting her take the lead, if she will. When it breaks the pink haze is still in tact and he smiles warmly at her. "See dat not so bad, was it?" he asks after a moment.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue's eyes are shut afterward and she doesn't open them until after his words. Her eyelids open up and she just stares up at him with those emerald orbs surrounded by that dark eyeliner and her long lashes. "No complaints." She says then, showing a faint smile. She looks away then down to her gloves in her lap. "Ya know, one'a the things I got as a weddin' gift in Paris was a bracelet from Hank'n and his girlfriend, it was made t'negate my mutation'n let me touch folks. It was made t'hold a four hour battery charge." She glances back at him and grins. "It broke though. Or at least, doesn't hold a charge anymore."

Gambit has posed:
Remy LeBeau chuckles a little bit and shakes his head. "Well yah could always as de big blue fur ball ta, yah know, fix it.." he says in a playful tone, eyes full of mischeviousness. He shakes his head and holds onto her. "I mean yah nevah know when when somet'ing like dat may come in 'andy...

Rogue has posed:
Rogue laughs softly at him and she shrugs her shoulders. "I ain't seen Beast since Paris." She replies. "I heard he was at the Avengers mansion once, while I was there, but I was busy and I never got t'see him. Seems like he's always gone whenever I'm around. If I ever do see the big blue fuzzball, I might ask'im about that. But, I don't know. Maybe he's avoidin' me." She grins lightly then. "We'll see. Its kinda awkward havin' that be the first thing ya say when haven't seen a guy in ages."
