Disturbance In Progress
Date of Scene: 03 March 2019
Location: Morrigan's Apartment
Synopsis: There's a disturbance that comes out over the radio. But what happens is by far more disturbing.
Cast of Characters: Morrigan MacIntyre, Captain Marvel Jr., Hellboy

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
In New York there's no real surprise when a Disturbance In Progress call comes across the police radios. And those filter out to those that have police scanners and other such things that come in handy when trying to keep an ear or an eye out on the police back and forth of the city. Tonight this disturbance is a bit weirder though. Apparently something crashed through a wall and there was an animal noise? What does that?

Those that can sense magic or evil in general might pin point the disturbance as something rather old and something rather cranky.

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
One of the minor details of the Champion spell, it tends to bring the person it is bound to where they are likely to be needed. Thus, Freddy Freeman happens to be nearby when something comes crashing through the wall. Calling upon his powers would be premature, so he limps over to see what is going on. Hopefully waiting is not stupid, but darn it Freddy wants to prove (to himself if no one else) that he can handle SOME things as Freddy.

Hellboy has posed:
Could he 'sense' magic or evil? Not particularly, but Hellboy's been doing this job for a long time, and when he heard the call when he was down a few blocks having a pizza, the SHIELD Agent heard enough to decide that he'd better go investigate and see what was what. Worst case scenario, he'd have to shoo a possum or an escaped tiger from the zoo out of an apartment.

His arrival a few moments after Freddy is gradual, with the big red-skinned man looking around cautiously. What is it that he would see, or smell, or hear when arriving at the scene in question? That was anybody's guess...

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Do big red guys have super sensitive noses? If so there might be the overwhelming scent of blood that fills Hellboy's nostrils. The scene is about the same for both men. The top floor apartment hallway looks like a small war has been through it. Plaster and molding hanging off by sheer will on it's part. One of the doors to an apartment is completely missing. That's where the sound of shattering glass comes from not moments later. Oh great. They know where to go.

Hellboy has posed:
Yeah, Hellboy could smell the blood, and he could see that whatever had been through here was real big. The big man sneered at the realization that he was going to have a long night ahead of him, even as he looked over to the kid. For his part, HB's expression was tough to read between his glowing yellow eyes and his perpetually ugly mug, but he pulled back the left side of his trenchcoat to reveal his badge right there on full display on his hip, as well as the rather -larger- revolver on that side. His tail was twitching rapidly, the only 'tell' as to his frustation.

"Kid, get out of here, there's something bad walking around. Don't worry, I'm with SHIELD, if your mama or someone is in here, I'll get her out."

He didn't mention what state she might be on...he didn't want to dwell on that right now.

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
Freddy takes note of the odd looking man, but since he does not seem like the source of the trouble, he continues limping forward. There was a time he could have run forward...and he still could with magic, but as just plain Freddy limping is what he does. While he can limp at a decent walking clip, it is not exactly a sprint.

Freddy bristles a bit, though he does have to grudgingly admit the kid part is not entirely inaccurate, "You would be surprised how...useful...I can be if needed, and if I am here it is because I NEED to be here." He mutters something about Order...

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Inside the apartment is a sight. There's a large outline where someone probably crashed in through the wall. Which makes for a fantastic entrance in most cases. There's been tables overturned and there is a lamp that's been overturned, the light flickering on and off. It reveals the form of a very tall man with black hair that falls to his shoulders. There's something very 'off' about that man, but he's facing away from them at the moment. Freddy and Hellboy can both sense it.

There is another form in the apartment...or currently laying face down and unmoving in the small roof top space of the building. Apparently that's what crashed through the french doors.

Hellboy has posed:
"Kid, that wasn't a suggestion. You need to get out of here before you get hurt. Go on, scram, get to gettin'."

Hellboy held out his left hand to 'gently' push Freddy backwards by the chest, not in any attempt to hurt him, in fact for his strength, he was showing incredible restraint. But he was also very clearly blocking Freeman's path, and actively trying to deny him entry from a dangerous situation. Out the corner of his eye he could see the man with the hair, and knew that trap a mile away.

"Kid, do you see that suspiciously still nonmoving man, waiting for someone to slowly reach out for his shoulder? He is waiting for you to limp in there and do exactly that so he can suddenly turn and reveal his monster face. You can prove you're a tough guy some other day, but I'm not letting you be something else's meal tonight."

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
Freddy waits, from appearances the one on the floor and the tall man were fighting, and both likely have more than human strength. The question is, who is the bad guy. If it is the one on the floor, then the other one might have things handled already, Pantheon might not be needed. If it is the tall man...well hopefully Freddy's companion can keep him busy long enough to give the word. Freddy is stubborn enough not to do so until the need is clear. Possibly the red guy is right, but one thing Freddy learned when he got his limp was not to judge things by appearances.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
The man turns from watching the unmoving form on the roof, those eyes of his glow a brilliant violet. The bottom of his face is covered in blood. The light making it shine as he smiles to Hellboy and Freddy. "Ah. I get to meet one of the local celebrities." he muses as he looks at the large red man. Then there's a look to Freddy, "You two should really just turn and go. This is a family matter." he states. Then he turns back towards where the other person is and starts for them. "Just someone needing a bit of father and daughter time." he growls.

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
Freddy knows that he is not going to be any good in a fight against a hostile superhuman as Freddy Freeman, but all it takes is one word to change the odds, "Shazam!" Lightning flashes in less than a heartbeat, coming in through the opening to outside and striking Freddy. Instantly the lame teen is gone, in his place stands the mighty Pantheon.

Pantheon raises his fist, covering it in the fires of H'ronmeer, "Sometimes, there is a reason to interfere with family disputes. I think it is YOU who should leave...now."

Hellboy has posed:
The lightning comes down, and the stoic, unflappable Hellboy reflexively pulls his hand back from the child, covering his eyes and looking back at Pantheon after a few long moments.

"You know, you probably could have lead with this form. Woulda made more sense, but hey. Potatoes, potahtoes."

And then, Hellboy was back to dealing with the violet-eyed creature in the room. Hellboy walked in to the space casually, pulling his SHIELD badge off of his belt and flashing it, to let this possibly ancient being know that everything here was legal and on the up and up. HB was sure he appreciated it.

"Yeah, sorry, but like my friend here said, we're unable to do that, at least until we take you in for questioning and determine just what happened here. You gonna cooperate with us, make things easier on everybody? We go down to the Triskelion, we get you a Happy Meal on the way, what do you say?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
The man recoils from the fire, yeah, that was a no. Lucian looks between the two of them and there's a bit of a bloody smile that shows fangs, "Gentlemen. It's extremely rude to break up an occasion where a man meets his daughter for the first time, but I can see that you're going to be fussy." he sighs dramatically.

The psycho meter is OFF THE CHARTS!

"But if you insist, I will take my leave." he tells them. Then he moves quickly, quicker than human eyes would be able to pick up. And then the couch goes flying at Hellboy and Pantheon.

Hellboy has posed:
The couch goes flying, but here's the thing, this wasn't Hellboy's first rodeo. His big stone hand comes up in a vicious haymaker to send that furniture right back toward where he thought the long-haired man was, at the same time he was finally drawing that revolver and clicking back the hammer, looking around for the figure.

But of course, he was waving a gun around an empty room, wasn't he?

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
It's one of the oldest tricks in the book. Toss a couch to distract. But Hellboy isn't completely alone. There's the form that's been on the other side of the broken french doors that is lying there. There's the sound of breath, so they are still alive, but a lot of bloodloss from the looks of things.

And as if on cue, there's the sound of police sirens that are fast approaching.

Hellboy has posed:
When the police arrive, Hellboy directs traffic, telling them basically what happened. Though, he omitted a few details that will go into his SHIELD report. And he isn't going to tell anybody about how Pantheon accompanying him used to be Tiny Tim. He wasn't gonna tattle on a superhero.
