Synopsis: Impulse convinces The Flash to help keep crime down in Gothan City!
Cast of Characters: Impulse, Flash

Impulse has posed:
Impulse comes running into the apartment that is his grandfathers, the teen having been staying there the last few days. "Hey! Grandpa! I got an amazing idea! Did you know that the crime rate in Gotham City is like insane? Like someone is robbed, or burgled like every 10 minutes in the city!" The young teen says in shock and surprise. "There's a charity ball today and I wanna help make sure that nobody messes with it! LEts go to Gotham together! We can help Batman and keep the baddies down!" He suggests with enthusiasm..

Flash has posed:
Barry is fixing popcorn and just about to sit down to watch a documentary on the ID channel when Bart errupts into the room barring the bad news he'd been expecting for as long as his grandson had been here. "I have about a million reasons why that is a terrible idea." He's shaking his head, knowing where this is going before the other speedster has even finished, "The only important one being; Batman will not approve of this course of action."

Impulse has posed:
Impulse doesn't understand why. "But people need help! That Charity! What if they try to rob it? Folks like Lex Luthor, and Bruce Wayne are there! That's a lot of money sitting in one place! What if they try to rob it?" he asks clearly dissapointed and worried. "We can't do it like every day I know you have your science police stuff, and Running like that all the time is tireing.. but we could do it for one night!" he says bright doe eyes boring into his grandfathers.. "Allens help people!"

Flash has posed:
"Listen." Barry sets his popcorn down on the corner of the counter so he can dust off his fingers, brushing them together in front of him after taking a single piece and tossing it in his mouth, "There are rules to this.. I don't like it when people come to Central City and get involved either and Batman has his methods in place for a reason. I assure you that anything you or I can do in a night will be equally bad, if not worse, in the morning. You don't save Gotham, you just let Gotham exist. Only Batman and his people do anything there... and it's not about not helping people. I swoop in periodically and do my community service heroics, but if we go nuts, this will blow up in my face." The Allens help people line, that was low. Barry frowns deeply and scratches at the center of his scalp.

Impulse has posed:
"But Why? Things can be better! We can make things better!" he says holding a hand palm up, a hologram of a map of gotham coming into being, Green, pink, and purple dots appearing on the map along with little red and blue dots moving around.. "Green dots are assaultive crimes in progress that the police know about, Purple dots are things like car alarms going off, silent alarms where the general situation is unknown. Pink dots are domestic disturbances." he explains two dots vanishing as the red and blue dots get there, but three more purple, two more pinks, and one green sprout up in different parts..

Flash has posed:
"Because Batman says so." That seems to be reason enough for Barry, "Besides, look at that." The dots shifting, changing, reappearing and never ending all over Bart's hologram image of Gotham, "Do you realize how busy we'll be? I'm all for helping people, Bart, but there are some places even we can't save... and believe me, being fast can't always protect you. Not from Gotham. That place chews up innocent and spits out jade." He expression darkens a little, "I'm sure you've heard of the Joker? There's no way he didn't appear in your history books... well I ran into him in Canada last night. He managed to shoot my in the side with a high powered sniper rifle and that's without being exhausted from running around putting out little fires." Is Barry afraid of Gotham? Yes, he absolutely is. He's not ashammed of it either because people SHOULD be afraid of Gotham.

Impulse has posed:
Impulse sighs.. "I'm not saying we do it every day! Just one night! The charity ball can go off with out a hitch, and we can make peoples nights better and safer." he pleads. "Think of the training you could give me! I only know how to run fast!"

Flash has posed:
Barry rubs at the inside corners of his eyes on either side of his nose, "You're going to keep going until I agree aren't you?" He asks, but he already knows the answer. "Alright.. two hours. We'll got to Gotham for Two. Hours." Holding up the same number of fingers, "Any longer than that and Gotham will know you were there and follow you home.." Barry shimmers slightly, orange and yellow lightning crackling around him as his suit comes out from his ring and his donned it before reaching the door. "When I say it's time to go, it's time to go. NO arguments, okay? This is serious, Bart." He's already regretting this.

Impulse has posed:
Impulse beams brightly "Schway!!! Lemme see one of your helmet wings!" he says holding out his hand for the little piece of metal, his glove seeming to ooze up over the material for a moment before shrinking back down "put it back on!" he explains grinning.

Flash has posed:
Barry both hands over and retrieves the wing, then returns it to the side of his mask. "Alright, Bart.. I'm going to regret this, but let's go to Gotham." There are hundreds of thousands of things he could have said that would have surprised him less than that.

Impulse has posed:
"Hello Mister Allen." comes the cool slightly artificial feminine voice of Gideon in Barry's ear. "I am Gideon. While in close proximity to Bartholomew you will be able to stay in communication with your grandson." she explains.

Bart on the other hand looks to be vibrating in excitement. "Race you to Gotham! Last one there's an Alchemax Yeast Steak!" Bart says vanishing with a crack of thunder and a flare of crimson and gold lightning..

Flash has posed:
"Whoa, who what?" Barry spins in a circle hearing the voice in his ear and the explanation that accompanies it, "What's a Gideon, Bart.. and we agree on not calling me a Grand parent at least until my thirtieth birthday?"

This must be precisely what the other Justice League feel when talking to Barry when he's left talking to empty air. "This is such a huge mistake.." At this point, however, Bart might try to do this alone. So the Flash disappears from his living room, popcorn sitting in the microwave and television programmed to record the documentary.

Gold and orange lightning bleeding off his body as he makes his way towards the worst place on Earth.

Impulse has posed:
"Gideon's an Artifical Intelligence! She's my oldest friend has been with me since I was old enough to talk." Bart's voice comes over the ear piece once Barry is back in range. "Why can't I call you grandpa? You are.." he adds oblivious to the social faux paus it might cause. Coming up on a young lady with a flat tire, he's all over the situation, zooming around and talking to the startled and confused woman. "Hi! I'm a super hero, I've got you Ma'am." he says pausing just long enough to talk to the woman before he's jacking the car up and getting the tire changed. "Haveagreatevening!" he says barely slow enough that the woman might be able to understand before he's zooming along again.

Flash has posed:
"Gideon." Barry repeats the name of the AI with a quirk of his mouth to the side as he runs. Blurring the lines of scenary around him as his feet pick up the pace to close some distance on his Grandson with a head-start; "Because it's going confuse people... and while we're on the subject, we need to come up with a name for you while we're out helping people." Barry skids to a stop on at dirty sidewalk in the seedier side of Gotham. "It's great that I have family from the future, but if you disrupt the time flow too much by talking about it, you can irrepairably alter time and you don't want that kind of thing on your conscious."

Impulse has posed:
"Ehh, Times a lot more fluid than that.. You can't go back in time and kill your grandfather, cause you didn't go back in time to kill your grandfather.. Anything that I'm doing back here in the past is what I've done in the past already." comes Impulses words "found one!" he says right as the sound of a fire arm being shot rings out in the night, the teenager zipping down an alleyway catching the bullet out of mid air before it can reach the young woman that was being assaulted, the gun then being removed from the criminals hand dismantled, and his head punched with a teens strength fifteen times in the time that it takes the woman to let out a shriek of terror.

"What kind of superhero name should I have Gra..Flash?" he asks finally coming to a full stop. "Call the police ma'am let them know your assailant has been taken care of, and you just need their help." he says to the woman. "You're not hurt are you?" he asks suddenly moving to look the woman over at super speed. "Just scared but understandable! Have a great night!" he says the entire interaction taking less than 5 seconds before he's once more zipping through gothams streets

Flash has posed:
"You can." Flash watches the lines of red running through the streets of Gotham with a turn of his head. Little neuances draw his attention and he too darts off to prevent a drug deal that could have gone sour, "No, you're right.. I'm not the Bat, but I am a lot faster than him. You go ahead and-" Barry moves around the group in a trailing of gold and orange collecting up their weapons as they're pulling them out on him and drops them in the trunk of one of the beat up old sedans half the thugs arrived in, "- give yourselves up and we can call this a day without anyone even need to get punched?"

This is Gotham, though.

They all attack him with their fists, despite knowing how fast he is, or how polite he's being. "Hey!" Wooshing around, twisting the fighters in different directions so that their second and third thrown punches will strike one of their own or, in some cases, themselves.

Barry skids out of his run. "I did, I changed time once." He's never told anyone, at least not after correcting it.

Impulse has posed:
"You did? Did you have to fight to get it done? The Timeline doesn't like to be changed, and changing it can cause weird paradoxes and changes in the timeline that you don't, or won't expect. Every Chronologist that's tried to change something in the past generally winds up having to go back and undo what they changed, cause of /huge/ unforseen cirumstances, and the amount of time, effort ,and exertion that they had to do to /make/ that change was rediculous.." Bart explains

"Got a building on fire twenty-First and Grant street. I get the people, you do a fwooshy thing to put out the fire?" Bart asks already heading in the direction he needs to go while Gideon speaks to Barry. "Take a right at the next intersection, travel fifteen blocks, and take a left the building will be in view." she explains..

Flash has posed:
"So you knew you were going to come back in time and interact with me?" Barry asks a pretty important and kind of simple question as he's getting the various thugs all bundled up ready for the GCPD to swing by after sending out a call to one of the presincts. "Yeah, I did have to fight to change it and then I had to change it back.. now I have to wonder every day what I changed from the original timeline and how that might affect everything else."

Flash glances in the direction Bart indicates and starts moving, "On it." Orange and Gold tail trailing between traffic as he follows the given directions towards the fire. Upon arrival, he runs up one side of the building and does a single revolution, then alters his path so he's made an infinity symbol, continuing to add more until he's created an atomic symbol of varying revolutions around the building to create a concentric vortex to draw the oxygen out through open windows. "Have you ever been told you've got Impulse control problems?"

Impulse has posed:
Impulse is getting people out of the building, starting with the people on the top floor and working his way down, the vast majority having already made their way out of the building. "Ohh Jinkies no! We were using your old Cosmic Treadmill to cure me, and i just needed to run as /fast/ as I could, and then I felt this amazing sense of belonging.. Then I was crashing through the alley where you met me." Bart explains the people taken care of, he's going back inside, this time to grab things out of the parts of the building that's on fire and bringing them out to the front of the building.

"Nope. And I'm not really sure what that means!" he answers succinctly. stopping to watch as the fire goes out the sound of sirens starting to be heard in the distance..

Flash has posed:
"So, by your theory your existance here in this time was not part of your times history and so your being here is changing that." Barry continues to explain as the flames slowly die out from his revolutions until it's just smoke curling from open windows. Once it's put out, he skids to a stop infront of the fire department and takes the time to shake some hands or pictures, then zips off to assist with a burglery alarm in progress. "So either you are going to change time as you know it or follow the exact footprint necessary to make sure everything happens the way it should... which is going to be very boring for you."

Because poor Impulse control.

"It means that you do whatever flight of fancy comes to mind... Oh look a turned over tanker truck, be right back." Because Barry is so much better about that.

Impulse has posed:
"Just cause me coming back in time wasn't the plan, doesn't mean that in my past, your present this isn't exactly what happened. " He explains joining The Flash on the tanker truck getting people out of the way, and plugging holes in the tank with material from his suit. "Zoom for example.. He's known as being one of your worst enemies. Hes from the 25th century so everything he's done is already a part of the historical record, though a lot of records was lost somewhere around 2584, so things are spotty for Gideon on what's going to happen."

Once the tanker is done he's moving taking care in rapid succession a Mugging, an B&E, and a Store robbery before finding /another/ mugging. "Man, do people not have any thing better to do than prey on other people in this town! It's just the dachshund!" He complains "But yeah, it's a weird thing of.. Sure you have free will, what you do now, affects the future, but if you're from the future, everything you're doing in the past, has already happened so do you really /have/ free will? I've tried not to think about it too much while I'm here, just winds up giving me a headache, and a craving for five bags of dark chocoloate chocos.."

Flash has posed:
"You've shown up in the prime of my life.. When there IS recorded history of my actions." Barry points out, "I'm not saying that you're destined to change the future, but I'd be careful about what you're doing here incase you could." This is why he's sworn off time travel unless he absolutely has to.

"I told you, this is Gotham." Flash has prevented a hit and run, six attempted rapes, and four shootings. Right now he's sitting on the ledge of a building eating a sub sandwich from Angelos with a big gulp of Mountain Dern beside him. "I got you a sandwich, I'm on fifty third and Second. Roof of the tenament."

Impulse has posed:
"I'm starving!" he says appearing beside The Flash and sitting down beside him. Taking a bite of the sandwich his eyes widen.. "This is delicious! What is it?" he asks taking another bite and following it with a large gulp of his own soda.

Flash has posed:
"This.." The sandwich in Flash's hands disappears in the matter of seconds and he grabs another from a bag behind him, "Is a double meat burpie from Angelos, extra mayo, extra mustard, pickles, onions, oil and vinegar, salt, pepper, and oregano... I call it the Hubba Hubba Subba Lubba." He points behind him where a big gulp and a bag of sandwiches resides. "Angelos is basically what I picture heaven would be like if Heaven served fresh cut deli meat on bread baked each morning." Another sandwich is just gone. The small bit of mustard on his thumb is sucked clean.

Impulse has posed:
Impulse grins his own sandwich vanishing, the teen rummaging in the bag for another.. "Schway! we don't really have meat in the 30th century. Dad was always talking about missing ribeye steaks what ever those are." he explains consuming the second sandwich. "I think really /really/ rich people could get fish and chicken, but for the most part it's soy and yeast patties for the normal folks." he explains "Soda's are the same though!" he adds with a grin..

Flash has posed:
"No meat..." Barry takes his time in that it'll last a few seconds this time. His fist presses in against the underside of his diaphram, a quiet burp escaping, "What happened? Is it because I disappeared? What about Superman and the Justice League, how did something happen that was so bad there's no meat to eat?" He should know better than to ask all these questions about the future, of course. "Soy and yeast." Shaking his head, "That's horrible."

Impulse has posed:
Impulse shrugs. "sometime in the 2200's globally food production shifts from animal farming, to more efficient plant based farming, then in the late 2300's a disease hit what few animal farms were around, cow went extinct." he explains with a little bit of a shrug. "Wasn't anything you, Superman, or the League of the time could fix or stop." he finishes..

Flash has posed:
"The Twenty fourth centruy and you'res just my grandson.." Barry is pretty good at math, for the record. "I mean, I know you don't know if I'm still alive because I vanish before you're born, but how old is your DAD?" Everyone has always assumed Superman would live forever, so that's not of any real surprise.

Impulse has posed:
Impulse shakes his head "ohh, no, I'm from the 31st century! Time travel shenanigans, i don't know the full story, but Dad and Aunty Dawn are from later this century and somehow got flung forward. Dad met mom and fast forward another year or so, and Voila! I think dad's like... Twenty-Eight? Thirty?" he says to answer the questions asked. "Mom's like two years younger.."

Flash has posed:
Time travel definitely complicates things.

Barry turns towards Impulse and just stares for a second, then shakes his head. "So I guess that mean I've got to get started having kids." Something about having the ending spoiled always has put him a little on edge. "So now you're back here in the twenty first century and may end up helping me raise your own dad." Flash grabs his big gulp and sucks it down until the ice rattles on the straw. "Alright, twenty more minutes and then we're leaving Gotham."

The bag, the trash, the big gulp are all gone with the Flash. The orange and gold streaks darking down the street and up an alleyway towards the sirens of a police chase.

Impulse has posed:
"Aww, give it a little more time! Think of all the good we're doing!" Bart calls out as he gives chase, Crimson and gold lighting the street and buildings as he vanishes into the night, more people need help, more crime needs to be stopped..
