Date of Scene: 10 March 2019
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Some bullies get more than they bargain for.
Cast of Characters: Captain Marvel Jr., Longshot, Stepford Cuckoos, Supergirl, Lady Blackhawk

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
The Problem, Freddy reflects, with once being a popular athlete, is that there are people out there who are happy to see you fall and glad to take advantage. Witness this scene, where a group of the "out crowd" has come across Freddy limping back from the basketball court. One of them took his crutch first, and the others are teasing him about getting up and walking home. Freddy refuses to use his powers for such situations, but it is kind of humiliating.

Longshot has posed:
It's not entirely clear what Longshot is doing there. He's certainly a bit too old to be a student. Yet there he is, on top of the wire fencing around the court, laying on his side and perfectly balanced on the ledge there. He announces his presence by dropping his leather jacket, letting it clatter to the court.

"I was in one like this once. It was called "Bodyguard Blues". You guys all act like nasty little dinks and torment the poor kid who doesn't deserve it. And then he pays me money so that I come and kick your butts. Now, he hasn't given me money, but this is all pretend anyway right? At the very least, I think he deserves someone on his team.'

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
Freddy rises painfully from the pavement, balancing on his left leg as his right can bot bear much of any weight. Rising while using only one leg is not easy. He says through gritted teeth, "Give me my crutch back. Do not make me take it from you, you would not enjoy that."

Longshot has posed:
Longshot rolls and drops down, adding perhaps an unnecessary twist to the somersault as he lands on his feet. He pops the collar on his shirt, his blonde bangs swept just so above the cool blue of his intense gaze. The light seems to strike him just saw, casting his jawline in silhouette.

"He's not wrong. You put it in his hand or I put it up your...hold on, what's our rating here?...I'm just going to say heinie. I'll shove it up your heinie."

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
A gaggle of blondes is stepping through the park at this time, only one girl has her cellphone up before her eyes, but all of them look as if they were lost within the confines of the digital world. Moving as a single unit, the quintuplets seem as if they're going to walk right past the group of men shouting when one on the girls turns her head and then nearly instantly the remaining four copy the motion to look at the sad situation.

"Picking on a weaker specimen belies that you are in fact a beta of the species, unable to hunt stronger prey." The girls note in unison before they all square off to face the bullies.

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
The apparent leader sneers, says, "Fine, have it," and tosses the crutch out into the middle of the street. He does not know any of the others, but fighting girls (especilly if he loses) would not do his rep any good. He turns to stalk off and the rest follow.

Longshot has posed:
Longshot points a slightly oversized finger towards the Cuckoos, "The collective of blonde clones speaks the truth," he says. In his world, clones are perfectly common after all, he's not making any sort of guess.

"Your determination to pick a weaker opponent marks you as a bully, and, while a bully may triumph initially due to overwhelming physical superiority, they will always be conquered by heart and determination. Not to mention my amazing abdominal muscles," he says, lifting up his shirt to show off his six pack.

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
"That is not enough." The girls state at once, their eyes turning a milky white as they loom over the scene and they invade the man's mind without hesitation and urge him to not only rethink his actions, but actively go out and get the crutch from the street. Lest he has to face their true wrath, which, could be something quite drastic.

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
Freddy is not exactly normal any longer, he can see Longshot is not normal (the three fingered hands kind of give that away) and while identicle quints are not impossible, the way they act together is not exactly normal. He says, "While I appreciate the help, I can do this." He hops over to the edge of the street, looks both ways, and hops out to get his crutch.

Longshot has posed:
Longshot points a finger at Freddy, "Of course you can. You have been underestimated due to your physical defects, but you have the heart of a lion and so must triumph in the end. I will keep you in the game then, when it's nearly over, I will fall aside and you will have to do it on your own. You will make the winning shot. And then we will go get milkshakes and pepperoni pizza."

"Sound good?"

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
At Freddy's behest, the clones all drop their mental hold on the poor poor bully they were about to send into the street. But their milk eyes slowly return to normal bright blues and Esme in the back pulls her phone back out and starts to scroll through instagram some more idly. "That was kind of boring." Notes Sophie aloud as they all turn to watch Freddy get his crutch out of the street.

Supergirl has posed:
It is at that moment there is a figure flying over in the sky above. The choice of primary colors may give away who it is as she changes direction upon seeing a young man hopping out into the middle of a street to retrieve a crutch.

That brings Supergirl turning back and coming to a hover just above the level of traffic on the street. This way, she can help if needed but she isn't going to take away his independence by trying to do it for him.

She does give a little wave to a few people who notice her floating up there.

Longshot has posed:
Longshot does notice Supergirl! He points a finger up at the flying figure and throws her a wink that's accompanied by a literal sparkle in his eye, his left orb lighting up for a moment like the star he is.

He kicks a basketball off the asphalt and up into the air, letting it land spinning on the tip of a blunt, large finger, "Now, there's only one more thing: someone explain to me how this game is played."

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
Freddy hopps back to the edge of the street and then replaces his crutch on his arm. He says to the others (not having noticed Supergirl yet), "Stopping people from doing bad is not in itself bad, but when that becomes using your abilities, whatever they may be, to force others to do things against their will, then you become a bully too." He then sees Longshot pointing upwards and waves his left arm.

"It is a game played by teams, the goal being to accurately throw the ball through the hoop assigned to your team, whille preventing the other team from doing so, without touchin the other players," Freddy explains the basics of the game.

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
The clones move as one again, while the hive mind is absorbing ideas and promises of a 'real fyre festival' thanks to Esme and her applied influence on the group. The five do move as Longshot points out Super girl and the blondes get a hint of a smile on their pink lips as their minds push out to greet their sister, wondering if there is another of their kind that can fly. That would be such a useful feature to this life, not having to live it in such a two-d manner.

They do not try to bond with Longshot as he is a boy and obviously not of the Cuckoo clan, so they wouldn't dare invite him into their collective. But they were about to answer him with knowledged plucked from the nearby crowds when Freddy takes care of the pop quiz. "The lame one is correct, for the most part." Phoebe says towards Longshot, while the other girls continue to look at Kara, curious.

Supergirl has posed:
Supergirl blinks in surprise at the flash of light from Longshot's eye. That's new. Maybe he's an alien too. The odd number of fingers may be an indicator as well.

She floats down to the sidewalk to join the others, giving a smile to Freddy. She missed the bully part but she does catch what he is saying so manages to piece two-and-two together. That must be how his crutch ended up in the road.

For the Cuckoos, there is no response from her telepathically. She doesn't even realize that they are trying to reach out to her. Supergirl's mind is...different. She doesn't think in English, but Kryptonian and then translates it to English to speak.

Longshot has posed:
Longshot juggles the ball back and forth between his forearms and elbows, bouncing it all around, and then grinning. "I am glad to find a sport that doesn't involve bloodshed. Does it? This thing isn't filled with blades is it?" he asks, holding the ball up.

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
Freddy smiles, "No, no blades. Mind, it is based, at least in part, on a much older sport called Pokotok if I remember correctly. That sport could involve bloodshed...I think. Been a while since I studied that. Anyway, ideally there are five persons on each team, the players on each team toss the ball or bounce it off the floor to advance it towards the hoop, then when close enough they try to get it through the hoop either directly, or by bouncing it off the backboard."

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
Celeste slowly turns her head away from Kara before the mental exploration stops and they all refocus on Kara, "Who are you?" They asks, obviously not around long enough to know SuperGirl though they know that's not an Earth based language, as in New York, you're pretty much able to find someone in mind's reach that speaks most languages. Especially in Central park.

The girls are about to keep talking to Longshot, but Freddy has it well in hand, so they all step up to Kara and whisper, "We do not want to play basketball..."

Supergirl has posed:
"Oh! I'm sorry!" Supergirl says, a bit surprised at the question. She kind of takes it for granted that everyone knows who she is so she's always caught off guard when someone does not. "I'm Supergirl! It's nice to meet you." She glances over to the guys. "You as well."

At the low confession, she leans in and giggles slightly. "I don't either, to be honest. I'm just not very good at it."

Lady Blackhawk has posed:
She knew a guy, who knew a guy, who's relative had just passed away and had ended up with a bunch of "Plane junk". I mean some people dig through antique stores for treasure, Zinda digs through hangars. There are worse hobbies right? That'd be why she has head head down in her phone, verifying certain holes in the FAA's registry dating back to the 80s. It's all a very interesting thing really you see-...Zinda pauses and perks up, oh hey Supergirl.

Mind you Zinda hadn't met the Kryptionian standing beside the triplets, but she does read the news paper when she's in town at least. She shifts gears for a moment, before tucking that phone in a jacket pocket and flicking her cigarette away. "Oh hey, howdy there darlin."Hand lifted in a low wave as she steps past the girls. Maybe she's recognized and this isn't super duper awkward, because I mean who doesn't recognize Zinda Blake? Woman pioneered the mini-skirt or something, right? Anywho she flashes Kara her best smile, before offering a little nod towards the Cuckoos.

Longshot has posed:
Longshot probably doesn't recognize her, but then he isn't from around here, not even remotely. Still, he definitely gives the attractive blonde some attention, dipping a bow in her direction as he throws the ball back over his shoulder to switch lazily through the hoop behind his back.

"I think perhaps the time for sport has passed. Which is fine, I don't even have the appropriate shorts for it."

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
Freddy sighs, "I am not very good any more anyway...well no unless I am in the wheelchair league." He looks over at Kara and comments, "Supergirl is pretty famous, I am surprised you do not know of her. One of the most powerful people on the planet, cousin of the World's Greatest Hero. One of the few surviving members of the Kryptonian species." Freddy knows who she is. Zinda, however, he is not familiar with really.

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
The Cuckoo's suddenly turn towards Freddy and scour his mind for info on Kara, as well as this cousin. They are intrigued, and yet they do explain themselves, "Sorry, we are. Home schooled." Yes, that's what the teachers at the institute told the girls to tell anyone who asked why they're so odd or for any bit of their history. They turn towards Kara and then smile, before it fades like the breeze and then the blondes all reach up to curl their hair behind one ear as they look at the approaching Zinda, "Literring in this city will not be tollerated. Go retrieve your refuse." The five blonds all request, making not to not use their powers like Freddy said.

Supergirl has posed:
"Zinda Blake! By Rao! I had read about you but I never thought I'd get to meet you!" Supergirl gushes as she spots the woman who was a legend in her time (and thus in this one too). "It is such an honor." She offers her hand in greeting.

At Freddy's explanation about her, she blushes slightly and glances his way. "I mean I try to be a hero but I'm not all that. Superman is the greatest though. I agree on that point."

Lady Blackhawk has posed:
Zinda just offers that weaponized smile towards the Cuckoos, the sort that melted hearts across the Pacific and sent men to war. "Oh darlin, bless your heart. You really do seem to care about the little things hm? Care for an autograph, perhaps ladies?"

And then well, supergirl. She takes the offered hand with a firm squeeze and a decidedly more genuine smile. "It's a right pleasure darlin, ya'll took the words right out've my mouth."She winks before digging around in her jacket for a pen. "Trade autographs, perhaps? I been running into all sorts of interesting people today, first one I fancied an autograph from though."

Longshot has posed:
Longshot shrugs, "Hey, I'm pretty famous, too, but nobody ever asks for my autograph in this dimension. You guys need better satellite dishes," he says.

He throws a hand up and a cab stops immediately outside of the wire, which he casually scales and leaps over the other side, "Since my heroic feats seem unnecessary at the moment, I'll bid you goodbye. See you in the reboot!"

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
Freddy hears a faint voice in his head, *there is someone listening child, but they mean no harm* he knows it is Apanel, and wonders about what would happen if someone were to try to attack his mind as Freddy. He is pretty sure what would happen if he is not. "Thanks for the help, whoever you are." He will have to do some research on that, later.

Supergirl has posed:
The sound that comes from Supergirl at the idea of an autograph can only be called a squee of happiness. It's a sound that is hard to describe. "Oh yes please! Although, I don't have any paper so can I borrow a piece from you?" she asks. It's not like she expects to run into famous people from history when she's flying around doing the hero thing.

Stepford Cuckoos has posed:
The girls look to Zinda with all of their eyebrows furrowing above their nose. "So you are allowed to break the law of the land because you think you are famous." Phoebe states from her place behind Celeste with a frown washing over the girl's faces, not liking this 'role model' very much. Super Girl certainly seems to be more on the up and up part of being a good person and a hero and she doesn't seem jaded or privileged by her fame.

Lady Blackhawk has posed:
Out comes a little notebook, and well Zinda scribbles something down and tears it off, but well she hands over her little notebook first. "Absolutely, you gotta start wearing something with pockets darlin."Theres a wink there, before peering after the Cuckoos. "It ain't healthy to follow the rules -too- close like, you ought have one small act of rebellion every day. Long as it don't hurt nobody, or rob'em? Go for it. Otherwise we're all just going through the motions."

Captain Marvel Jr. has posed:
Freddy says, "I thank all you pretty ladies for the help too, but I do need to head home." With that, he limps off down the street. He has homework to do, some of it even for school.
