HAVE AT THEE!
Date of Scene: 10 March 2019
Location: Avengers Mansion, New York City
Synopsis: Natasha is super rude to Thor!
Cast of Characters: Thor, Black Widow (Romanoff), Wasp (van Dyne)

Thor has posed:
In the center of the gymnasium deep below the Avengers mansion, there is a steady /CLANGING/ and /WHIRRING/ as large industrial sized columns on great crane arms whirl through their patterns of movement, slashing back and forth across the broad training area in the center of the room. Giant spiky columns with telescoping arms with pointy sharp stabby bits that all gleam as they catch the bright light of the gym and spin through their range of movement, attached to those twisting and turning crane arms that create this horribly dangerous looking mass of equipment...
All seemingly intent on impaling the blonde man in the middle of it.
"HAHA!" His voice is loud, robust as he leaps to and fore, on the attack at times and bringing his shield up to block the sharp pointy attacks of his opponents. "Have at thee!" Thor shouts, spinning around with his short sword and jabbing at another of the columns that had been trying to spin around behind him.
HGarbed in just blue sweat pants and a sleeveless white t-shirt, he's clearly been at this for a good chunk of time. His brow is shiny from the exertion and his smile is wild as he seems to enjoy just this focus on the moment and this momentary distraction from the woes of the world.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
Entering the gym, Natasha is dressed for something a little less sharp stabby bit intensive. Shorts, sports bra, tape on hands and feet. A gym bag is carried in her left hand with towels, water and who knows what else hidden it its depths. She moves to one of the benches along the wall, dropping the bag and then turning to simply watch Thor and his antics.

It probably isn't that often he can cut loose so being able to play with Tony Toys has to be helpful. In fact, when did those things get installed anyway? She looks up at the ceiling where the mechanisms work from then back to the columns themselves as they move and attack. They really need to get Tony a hobby. That doesn't involve machines.

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet's doing pilates.

Because, frankly, she doesn't like hitting people. Granted she's got belt rankings in judo and brazilian jiu jitsu-- but the smolest Avenger really doesn't prefer doing violence. She works out to stay trim, not to be combat-ready.

Genetic engineering of her metabolic systems helps a bit.

She looks up when Natasha enters, and immediately rolls her eyes at the woman. "Don't ask," she says, sourly. "I just came down here to stretch and flex. Thor heard sometihng about Tony's latest training program and decided to test himself against it," she mutters.

Thor has posed:
One might imagine that Thor is entirely lost in his enjoyment of smacking around blurring sharp columns with the flat of his blade, little /THWAK-WHAKS!/ here and there as he leaps from one side to another. He thrusts out his bucklet and _slams_ it into the base of another pillar and causes it to rock in its housing as it clicks back up into its housing above.
But they would be wrong, "This is no test!"
He spins around again and /jabs/ the short sword into the center of another column and leaves it sticking there as the mechanical device staggers, then he kicks it in the side. "Ha-HAH! Take that, knave!" It retracts as well.
Turning back to look at the two women he thumps the shield to his chest twice in a salute and announces, "I am victorious." He's smiling, beaming even. Of course that's the moment when one of the columns comes down and _WHACKS!_ him from behind, knocking him flat onto the mats.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"Ah," Natasha says, glancing over at Janet's observation and shaking her head negatively. "I think they feed off each other. It's some sort of weird symbiotic relationship. One has to build things and the other..."

Two of the opponents are beaten and retract to the ceiling. "..has to try to break them."

She was about to say something to Thor about his victory when the next column lays the Asgardian out flat. Which is when Natasha does something she shouldn't. She giggles. "Yes, you do seem to have shown it who is boss."

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet finishes her stretches and straightens up in time to watch Thor get laid out by a simulator. She walks up near Natasha and adopts the redhead's stance, but instead of giggling she just shakes her head. "Honestly Thor, if you can't beeat a training room robot, how are you going to fight Ultron? That's a robot that has all of Tony's intelligence, but won't get drunk and pass out with a bunch of skanky models in an overpriced New York hotel," she advises him.

Thor has posed:
Thor pushes himself upright almost instantly, throwing a little one-two combination as if he were still training and meant to do that, but then he waves a hand over towards Janet and Widow, "Sometimes best to let your opponent hit you to... gauge their strength level." He lowers his arms and casually slaps the column that struck him, just enough to make it shimmy in its housing.
He turns back towards the women and starts to walk towards them, "It's an old Asgardian tactic." He nods to himself, brow furrowing as he points up at the columns in the ceiling and the mechanism in general. "But good to know. They're very weak. I'll tell Tony to try and make them stronger. I barely felt a thing."
That said he tries Thor conversational tactic #4 and attempts to change the topic. "So what are you ladies doing here?" He asks, as if it wasn't entirely evident.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"I've always wondered why things he programs don't do that," Natasha admits, glancing over at Janet with a bit of a shrug. "Although maybe he wants them to be smarter than he is."

She glances back over to Thor and nods her head in the direction of the last column which just retreated after being 'defeated'. "In your defense, it came in on your blind side. You never even knew it was there. Good thing you are nigh invulnerable until you learn to compensate for that better."

Thor has posed:
As Janet turns and makes her departure, perhaps shaking her head sadly at Thor's antics. She gathers her things and wanders to the door, pausing there long enough just to shake her head again.
But it's not that admonishment that Thor takes to heart as he follows her with his good eye. It's when Natasha voices her analysis of why the column whacked him a good one. Her statement, perhaps, that he has a 'blind side'. It's enough to make him scowl.
"I doubt that was the reason why." He said, a touch defensively. "I have trained to make sure that I am as powerful a warrior as I have ever been. Moreso, even." Though he gives no reason as to that case. Instead he shakes his head and tosses the buckler to the side, letting it clang against the bench seat near.
Back to her, "In any case, what brings you here?" Again, with tactic #4.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
As the buckler slides against the bench, Natasha realizes he is not happy with her analysis. The tone, the attitude, the movements. It's all there clear to see. So she drops it. It's out there, he is now aware of it, maybe he should do a bit more training for just that reason.

"Pretty much what brought you here, I assume. Just wanted to get in a workout." Now that large columns with sharp pointy bits are gone, she heads over toward the mats to start stretching out a bit before she starts. "Was going to get in some work with the bag. How goes things with New Asgard?"

Wasp (van Dyne) has posed:
Janet just shakes her head and laughs. She gives Nat a fond pat on the shoulder and heads out the door. "Well, he's your problem now," she advises the assassin, and the Wasp vanishes out into the real world.

Thor has posed:
It's clear Thor is a touch distracted as he looks down and to the side, his brow furrowed as he shakes his head at some inner monologue or discussion he's having with himself. But then he quirks an eyebrow in Nat's direction, realizing she just answered his question to a degree.
For once, Thor does not answer directly. Instead he holds up a hand and waves it to the side, "Things are passingly well, Natasha. I thank you for your concern." A brusque response to be sure, though he holds up a hand as if to stave off any comment.
"Forgive me, you have reminded me I should spend my time elsewhere." That said he starts to move towards the door.

Black Widow (Romanoff) has posed:
"I have?" Natasha mutters as she watches him head for the door. She frowns herself, having not meant to upset him but they are both warriors. She would expect him to have told her the truth. She isn't going to regret doing so with him.

"If you should have need of me, just let me know." She moves toward the heavy bag, not pushing and letting him do as he wishes.
