Synopsis: Bryn and Helena meet while fighting a gang together.
Cast of Characters: Valkyrie, Huntress

Valkyrie has posed:
Bryn is... not sure where she is, exactly. In a city, somewhere in North America. Near the ocean, from the sounds of the waterfront. And from the smell, she puts heavy bets on New Jersey.

Everything has been a bit fuzzy since Ragnarok. Since Asgard fell, its surviving population taking to the stars. That might have something to do with the vast quantities of liquor she's consumed since then, of course. As Valkyrie, she fought in the last battle for Asgard. They lost. While New Asgard was being established in Scandinavia, the warrior took the opportunity to reacquaint herself with Midgard. To walk the Earth, as it were.

So now Bryn wanders the back streets of a place called Gotham, armored in jeans and a leather jacket. Armed only with a mostly-empty bottle of cheap whiskey. Does she realize that this isn't a good part of town? That she's probably being stalked by local predators? Perhaps, or perhaps not. But in any case, it doesn't seem to concern her unduly.

Huntress has posed:
Helena Bertinelli, for her part, has very little awareness of such goings on in the universe, or that proverbial aliens are immigrating to Scandanavia. It would probably give her pause to know these things but, really, it isn't in her backyard after all. Plus, she's been out of the country for almost seven months, so catching up on world news will have to wait a little bit longer.

At the moment Helena is returning from a grocery run, restocking her condo's 'fridge for the first time since her arrival. She carries two grocery bags in one hand and one in the other. Turning the corner she notices the woman making her way toward a darker alley - followed by a half dozen figures of questionable cleanliness and intent. It brings a frown to her face and she begins to make her way toward the corner of the alley to get a better look.

Valkyrie has posed:
Bryn isn't singing and her footsteps aren't weaving, but from the jaunty sway she definitely looks like the bottle she's holding wasn't the first of the evening. Pausing for a moment, the dusky woman glances back over her shoulder and flashes a grin. Does she see her stalkers? Yeah, it's pretty likely.

She heads down the alley anyway. Might as well have sent up a flare with an invitation.

Huntress has posed:
Helena Bertinelli misses the loook and the grin, but reaches the alley in time to see the group with ill intentions following her. She sighs and looks down at her freshly bought groceries before following the parade into the alley. She picks the cleanest filthy place on the ground to set the bags before closing in slowly on the group from behind. She'll wait for the moment. Maybe it's not what it looks like. But it certainly looks like the start of a bad situation.

Valkyrie has posed:
About halfway into the alley, Bryn turns to face her pursuers. Dark eyes flicker from one to the next to the next, sizing up the small gang. Almost casually she raises the bottle, tipping it high to drain the last of its contents. When it's finished, she flashes that grin again. "Right. Everybody ready to get started, then?" She tosses the bottle absently at a dumpster a good thirty feet behind them. It hits the mark and shatters, causing a couple heads to turn.

Huntress has posed:
Helena Bertinelli groans inwardly. She could have just ran off. Why didn't she run? This really isn't the time to play tough girl. Bad odds. six opponents and drunk?

Sighing, Helena stepped closer. "C'mon, kids. This isn't a fair fight. How about we even it up just a little? If it's embarrassing to get your ass kicked by a girl, will it be twice as bad with two of them?" Her blue eyes flicker as she watches the group instinctively split its focus onto both women now.

Valkyrie has posed:
Bryn doesn't wait. As soon as the group's attention is split between her and the newcomer, she strides right towards the middle of them. One of the kids draws a knife, brandishing it as the dark woman approaches.

"Just... give us your money!" he calls out, two buddies flanking Bryn. When she shows no sign of stopping, the kid panics and stabs at her.

Bryn looks more concerned about the woman to set down her groceries to help out. "Oi! Watch yourself, duckie!" she calls to Helena. Rolling a shoulder back, she dodges the stab attempt and catches the kid firmly by the bicep. Using him as both a weapon and a shield, she half-flings him into one of his partners, which then propels the both of them into a wall.

Huntress has posed:
Helena Bertinelli sees just enough to at first worry for the other woman's sanity let alone safety, then to realize maybe Bryn can handle herself. Then there's no time to worry as she has three of her own would-be muggers to address.

As the three approach her, she just smiles and reaches behind her back with her right hand and produces a collapsible staff. With the press of a button it expands in both directions to a length of five feet. She spins it a few times, "You all could have walked away. You may not walk for weeks after this."

The bravest of the three growls and draws a gun only to have the staff smash into his wrist as it begins to raise the weapon. "Oh no. We're keeping this to an old school beat down. No firearms allowed!" The staff spins around and strikes the mugger in the back of the head and he drops, stunned, as the other two try to outflank Helena.

Valkyrie has posed:
Okay, so Bryn's not the only one who can take care of herself, it seems. Helena's staff comes out and she drops one of the muggers, which earns a smirk of approval. She turns towards the last of her attackers, drawing a breath and exhaling sharply. "Right. Let's finish it. And if you run, it'll only hurt worse."

This is NOT AT ALL working out how the muggers intended. The kid stares at the shorter woman while the tall one with the staff starts her beat-down. Bryn would need to wear heels to top 5'6", but her size makes her no less scary as she eases into a slight crouch.

The mugger attacks, flipping open a switchblade at the last moment. He starts stabbing, quite rapidly. And Bryn turns every thrust aside with the back of a hand. The more he tries to stab her, the faster she counters him.

Huntress has posed:
Helena Bertinelli laughs at Bryn's attitude on the situation. "Sounds like you're enjoying this" Helena asides as she uses the staff to jab one of her opponents in the sternum to knock him back and give a little space. She turns to the other one and grins, "Don't worry. I haven't forgotten about you."

She rolls away from a skilled kick from her attacker but uses the staff to jab down between his legs and trip him up, Tugging the staff upward he spills to the filthy alley hard.

Timing is everything and Helena's timing was good, but the former attacker's is just a fraction better - this time. He grabs her from behind, hands trying to loop up under her arms to get her into a head lock. But he can't quite overpower her enough to complete it. Given the vicious kick to his left kneecap that buckles his leg, he never gets the chance as she spin kicks him in the jaw just as he calls to his knees.

Brushing her hair back, she glances to Bryn to make sure she's still doing okay.

Valkyrie has posed:
Bryn has her attention split between watching Helena and blocking those fast stab attempts. The more she blocks, the more frantic the kid with the knife becomes. A dark brow lifts as Helena is grappled, but the grin returns when a kick finishes things.

The rhythm of the thrust-block, thrust-block, thrust-block continues, and somewhere along the way Bryn takes away the knife. An elbow out of nowhere drops the kid, then she is bending over him with the point towards his throat.

"You need to find yourself another hobby, I think. And stop playing with knives, because you're not very good at it." Straightening, she gestures towards the entrance of the alley with the point. "I'm allowing you to walk away this time, so you can tell your friends how two *girls* took down six of you. Now go!"

The kid struggles to rise, tripping over himself as he runs out of the alley.
