Another day....
Date of Scene: 01 June 2017
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Harry Dresden, Karrin Murphy

Harry Dresden has posed:
The dog licks help clean the sweat from his skin, but don't do much to calm his nerves. He pants, much like the dog, trying to catch his breath for a minute before he raises his hand and places it on Mouse's head. "I'm ok." he says shakily. "I'll be ok, Mouse."

He sits there for a minute more, running his fingers through the dog's fur before he stands and makes his way towards the shower. He strips off his boxers, stepping into the shower stall and turning on the water. There is no use waiting for it to warm, because it never does.

Karrin Murphy has posed:
Dying, even in a dream, is never pleasant. Part of Murphy hopes that it was just her horrible brain torturing itself with some weird repressed guilt. The rest of her cannot help but see the parallels to that last dream that she had with Harry in it, but it's taking her a few moments, laying awake in her grandmother's old, four poster bed, staring up at the ceiling as she works on catching her breath. Without an animal companions, Harry, or even Kincaid around, there is nothing but the sound of her own rushing heart in her ears to keep her company. It's not comfortable. So, after a few too many minutes, she rolls over, grabbing at the phone on her bedside table. She knows Harry *has* a phone downstairs... whether it's ringing or not, functional or not, she doesn't know. But she dials the number.

It rings. And rings. Because showers and poor timing. Karrin swears and just pulls herself up out of the bed. It's only a ten minute ride to his apartment. She's on the wards. For the second time in as many weeks, she gets in her car and makes the drive to Dresden's in nothing but her night shorts and shirt. By the time he's out of the shower, she's actually in his living room, curled into the corner of the couch's cushions, her feet tucked beneath her and Mouse half in her lap.

Harry Dresden has posed:
The shower helps wake him up and wash the sweat off at least. It doesn't do anything at all for his sense of well being or nerves. He wanders out of the shower, wrapping his waist in a towel, and heads for the kitchen to get himself a beer.

And there is a Murphy. It is unexpected, after the last time. He didn't expect to see her in his apartment in the middle of the night again.

He pauses at the doorway of his bedroom, clutching the towel a bit tighter. "Hey Murph." He glances back towards his room for a moment, then shrugs and continues on his way towards the kitchenette. "Can I get you something?" He says it as casual as he can, but his eyes linger on her for a moment longer than perhaps necessary.

Karrin Murphy has posed:
The woman can hear the forced casual tone in his voice. She knows him too well. Not to mention the long look he's giving her, mirroring her own slightly too haunted gaze. Murphy takes in a deep breath and buries her hand a bit deeper into Mouse's scruff. That's reassuring, at least. The damn dog really had become a quickly essential part of their lives. "Dresden." She echoes his too-casual greeting. Like they were passing in a coffee shop, or something.

"...Just... one of those nights again. Rough dreams. Maybe we need to brush up those... charms again. Or just get really completely wasted on Mac's ale. I haven't decided yet. But... well... It's good to see you. Glad I didn't wake you up. Might... well... I could really do with passing out on this couch again tonight. If that's not too awkward." She's rambling. It's not something she does a lot except when she's really rattled.

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden says, "You too?" Harry says with a sigh and slight bow of his head. He grabs two beers from the icebox, pauses, then grabs two more. He makes his way over to the couch and offers two beers over to Karrin. "You know you don't have to ask permission, Murph. You know you can come and stay whenever you want. Hell's bells, you don't even have to sleep on the couch. You can have the bed. Just let me get some pants on."

He glances down at the towel and then back up to Muprhy, "I should probably do that anyway." he says as he takes a seat on the other end of the couch, leaving the middle space between them."

Karrin Murphy has posed:
"...for once, I am not actually tempted to jump your bones and ride you to exhaustion, Harry. I just sort of want to sit here and... be very happy you're alright. And I'm still breathing. And Mac's ale still tastes good." Murphy states flatly, even if those words would strongly imply there are a lot of other times she IS tempted to jump his bones. Which is probably very much true. She accepts the beer, knocking back a deep, long gulp of it. And then another. She's not savoring it right now, she's just drinking. "So...I think you are safe in your towel."

Meanwhile, Mouse wiggles out from under Karrin's hand and over to Harry, stepping up in his lap and sprawling out over those legs. Harry's well and trapped now, but at least he's covered.

Harry Dresden has posed:
Harry Dresden arches an eyebrow at the words Karrin uses. He opens his mouth to says something...most likely snarky...but then closes it again. "I'm glad you're ok." he finally does say, laying his hand on Mouse when the dog crawls up into his lap.

There is another long pause, the silence slightly awkward as neither of them are giving each other the shit they usually do. Finally he breaks the silence after he takes a sip of the beer, "Give me a few moments to get my head back in order, and I will wake Bob up and do something about these charms."
