Cast of Characters: Blink, Polaris, Archangel

Blink has posed:
Back at the school, Blink has mostly given Lorna space to unwind, feel at home, take care of things from there as she needs, without having the purple-haired mutant following her about everywhere.

Tonight though she stopped by her room. "Princess Lorna?" she'd said. "It's supposed to be a beautiful night tonight. Warmer than it's been around here in a while, I guess. And clear. I found a couple of blankets and have a thermos full of warm apple cider. I thought maybe you'd like to go up on the roof with me and hang out?"

And getting to the roof is as simple as stepping through one of Blink's portals, which she opens to show where everything is already set up for some relaxation and star watching.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna had always loved the roof of the Xavier Mansion. It was quieter than the rest of the school, above the walls where teenaged angst and drama could unfold. There was a limit to how many other students could feasibly get up there too. Or would risk going up there. In her high school days, when Lorna had just figured out how to fly, the roof had been a safe zone where she could stop and rest and collect her thoughts.

Though these days there were more kids and more of them that could fly, the roof remained more or less empty at this time of year. It wasn't Summer and there was still a chill in the air.

So when Clarice had asked if she wanted to go on the roof with some hot cider and blankets, Lorna had agreed with a grin. "Only if you promise to drop the titles here. You're my friend and this isn't Genosha after all."

Blink has posed:
The green irises of Clarice shine a little bit at the request from Lorna. "Alright," Clarice agrees softly. She can't help but smile at being counted amongst Lorna's friends. "Since you ask," she says, breaking out in a soft, warm laugh.

Clarice steps through, the young woman having changed clothes into a warm sweater and jeans, with a light jacket overtop of it as well. There's two pairs of gloves there on the blanket too, just in case it gets too cool. "So I met someone named Logan. He's the Wolverine that I've heard about, I guess? He was... much nicer than I expected him to be," she says quietly. "I kind of liked talking to him," she says as Clarice moves to take a seat, leaving room for Lorna to get settled. Clarice begins pouring out to cups of the steaming cider from a thermos. Once Lorna is through she'll close the portal. It was placed vertically so it would not be easy to see from above.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna stepped out from the portal with a slight shiver. The young woman had been in her bedroom for the past few hours, deeply absorbed in correspondence with Genosha and other various would be allies over the state of her island's security. The situation with the Sentinels had shaken her, that much was clear. With the same intensity her father spent in laying out plans, she had poured into learning everything she could about finances and trades routes with other countries, memorizing imports and exports and trying to figure out some way to help her people...

Clarice's invitation was a welcome one. Even as the chill of the night wind clipped through her sweat shirt with the school's logo on it and the high waisted jeans that hugged her hips. Her boots clicked lightly with each step as she moved to the blanket spread out with the thermoses placed just so as Clarice spoke of her interactions with Logan. A smile pulling at the corners of her lips at the comments that he was 'nicer' than expected.

"He's had more time to adjust to socialization than Laura is my guess."

Archangel has posed:
As the two women sit and talk, there's a sound. Like a bird. Actually. More as if a flock of birds had taken flight. There's a rush of air from the side of the building, and a large form that is silhouetted against the moonlight before it shows as a human-looking form with a fifteen foot wingspan. Approaching there's the single beat of flapping wings that sends a rush of air - scented lightly with cologne - over the two women before Warren's face becomes visible in the light.

"Midnight rendevouz on the rooftop is usually something that I try to pull." he offers, his tone lightly chastizing, before he recognizes one of the two women, and his blue eyes light up with delight.

After all, Warren was instrumental in the freedom of Genosha. "Lorna, is that you?!" he asks, peering at the green-haired woman. "Here I thought you'd be tanning on a beach, not freezing up here on a rooftop!"

Blink has posed:
Blink passes one of the glasses over to Lorna. Insulated ones with a lid to help keep the beverage warm. "Laura, she seems rather different from most of the students," Clarice notes. "I talked with her for a bit when we first arrived at the school. She seemed to get along fairly well with me once we started talking," Clarice says, smiling at the memory.

"I'd just heard he was... ah... more gruff than I experienced," Clarice says, and the soft laugh she gives suggests she's being kind in her choice of wording. But then probably Sabretooth was one of the people who would have told her stories of the Wolverine.

The sound of the birds in flight causes Clarice to look up curiously. When it's clear someone is there, she jumps to her feet, ready to protect Lorna. Though as Clarice hears the man's words, she seems to fall at ease, glancing over to Lorna as the winged man names her by name.

Polaris has posed:
There are a few things that Lorna has in common with birds. They could both fly. And both have an innate sense of the Earth's magnetic fields and what governs them. Which also relayed to knowing when people approached her typically. So while she accepted the thermos from Blink, Lorna seemed content to merely listen and not interrupt as she rolled her shoulders back and clasped the warm cup with both hands to warm the tips of her fingers already feeling the chill in the air.

A smile remaining on her expression. "Don't tell Logan I told you, but he's a bit of a softie when it really matters." She murmured, breaking off as the birds scattered and suddenly there was Warren, all feathered and flapping his wings as if it was perfectly normal for him to show up late at night on the rooftop of all places.

Still, Lorna couldn't help but grin as she got up with no small amount of excitement. It had been far too long since she had last seen the other mutant. "Warren! Hey!" She laughed as he commented on her choice of location. "I meant to come here only briefly, ended up staying here for the past few months by accident."

Archangel has posed:
Swooping down, Warren sweeps Lorna off her feet - literally - and twirls around in the air with her a few times in a poor imitation of a waltz, before he sets her back down. "Then it's good that I decided to return when I did, or I'd missed out on Your Highness." His use of her title is more teasing than truly calling her a Princess as he lowers her back to the rooftop. His wings stretch and flutter for a moment before tucking back in against his back, and his eyes fall on the magenta mutant that is accompanying Lorna.

"Goodness, Lorna, she almost rivals you for the prettiest girl on the rooftop." he points out with a wink between the pair as he gestures and offers his hand to Blink. If she accepts, he'll take it up and brush his lips gently to her knuckles. "Warren Worthington, III. Though most know me as Angel. Or Archangel, depending on your delights of the moment."

Blink has posed:
Blink had gotten a faint grin at the mention of Logan's softness. Further on the man goes unsaid though after Warren's arrival. Seeing that Lorna does indeed know him puts the purple-haired mutant more at ease. This is her school after all. Clarice only went on guard as she did for the suddenness of the man's arrival.

Clarice looks over to him as Warren swirls Lorna about him like that. It makes her smile softly and look away to give them a moment. Until she hears herself being addressed. Clarice looks back up, the green irises shifting back over to Lorna and Warren. "Oh, no. I mean. Thank you," she says, caught off guard by the compliment and stammering just a little as she tries to reply.

Clarice does offer Warren her hand as he extends his. The kiss to her knuckles brings a surprised flush to her cheeks. "Ahhh... hi," she says. It takes a few seconds before she realizes she should have said more. "Clarice. I'm Clarice. Blink they call me," she says. "Angel... you're the Angel who came to Genosha when Magneto freed us?" she asks.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna laughed freely as she twirled about in the air under Warren's gentle grip and was promptly settled back on the roof top, warm cider in her grip. She lightly smacked at his shoulder as let her go and she settled again. Her gaze swung back to Clarice as the other woman became the topic of conversation and blushed madly. "Oh, yeah. He was." She snapped her fingers and pointed at the winged mutant as she settled back at the blanket.

"Don't hero worship him too much Clarice, otherwise he'll never be able to land ever again." She teased.

Archangel has posed:
"Only if I have a pretty girl to fly with, Lorna." Warren grins lightly as he settles his arms to his sides after releasing Blink's hand. "So, what brings you to this humble rooftop?" he asks the pair as he settles into place. "I just returned to the school after a short leave of abscence to deal with things after my parents passed." there's a small shadow that crosses over his face, but he pushes past - was his skin blue? - it must have been a trick of the lack of light.

"So you are not sticking around long?" he asks curiously. "It seems a shame that you are leaving so soon after I arrived. Clearly I must find a way to convince you to stay."

Blink has posed:
Blink looks over to Lorna at the comment, and breaks out in a shy smile and soft laughter at it. "Well, it's the nicest greeting I've gotten since we got here," Clarice says softly. She smiles to both Lorna and Warren then.

Clarice's expression turns sympathetic when Warren mentions his parents. "Sorry to hear about them," she tells him gently. Looking like she'd like to say more, but not knowing what. Clarice glances back to Lorna at the question about how long they are staying there. "I'm here for as long as Prin- as Lorna is," Clarice says, truncating the title this time before she gets it all of the way out. "We just came up to get some air, look at the stars. Chat for a bit. You know, just unwind and forget about matters for a little while."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna shot Warren a look as he mentioned having to deal with the passing of his parents. She'd seen the news at least, and was aware of it. How could she not, when she was watching closely the movers and shakers of the world at large? Worthingtons were well known. "I'm sorry Warren, if you need anything we're here for you." She offered gently as she settled back down onto the blanket with the cup of warm cider in her grip, her legs crossed beneath her.

"I dunno. I want to help as much as I can here with the Sentinel crisis. My father is worried about it, and all of Genosha fears them." She glanced toward Clarice, and pursed her lips together briefly.

"If things get bad, I imagine my father will in no uncertain terms, tell me to return to Genosha."

Archangel has posed:
"Thank you, Lorna." Warren smiles slightly at the words. Even if they rang hollow in truth - his father refused him when he became a mutant, his mother - we won't get into that. "It means a lot to come from you. But for the moment, I have disturbed your respite enough." he admits with a grin. "But you know me, pretty girls always get my attention."

Though when Lorna mentions her father, he snorts. "I have yet to run into our new friends in the sky - and I am not sure how I will react to them when I do. So much scrap metal should be sent to a proper landfill, after all. But I hope your father is not too strict and I get to see your smile more often." With that, he's moving to leave the rooftop and take flight again.

Blink has posed:
Blink looks back to Lorna, giving a small nod as the green-haired princess speaks of what might happen if it gets worse. Clarice would be there to take her back in the blink of an eye should it be needed. Though one who knows her well might see her glance at the school beneath their feet, and think Clarice might be sorry to have to say goodbye to the place soon, if that happened.

As Warren indicates he's leaving, the young woman gives a little wave goodbye. "It was nice to meet you," she tells him, watching as he moves off, including if his wings spread to take flight. She's not using to seeing that many winged fliers. Not those kind of wings, anyway.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna flashed Warren a brief smile, "My father isn't that strict necessarily.. just that, well... he cares about Genosha's safety and my own. These tin-cans threaten that, and he does not suffer threats lightly.." She drawled, her gaze swinging back to Clarice briefly as she sipped at her cider. It was warm and perfect and everything that she needed in that exact moment. Just a dash of sweetness against the night chill.

As Warren lifted off into the air she wiggled her fingers in a wave. "I'll see you around then."
