Blink Sells Sea Shells Down By The...

Synopsis:	Laura gets a present of some sea shells from Blink

Blink has posed:
Blink steps out into the hallway. She's wearing shorts and sandals, and has a short-sleeved shirt on that is left unbuttoned and untucked. Beneath can be seen a black one-piece bathing suit. Her hair is a bit mussed up as if it is need of a brushing after having been wet or windblown. In addition to her normal scent, Clarice smells of sunscreen and ocean salt. She has a small bag in hand, and is whistling a happy tune as she moves out into the hallway from Scott's room.

X-23 has posed:
Laura is walking through the halls, but it's the scent of seawater that pulls her attention; it's a smell that doesn't belong here. She tenses, for a moment, but once she sees it's the purplette, she relaxes a bit. "Hello." she offers.

Blink has posed:
Blink lifts a hand to wave towards Laura. Her expression brightens at the sight of the young woman. Clarice walks over nearer to her. "I was just going to come find you," Clarice tells Laura. "Just came back from Genosha. And... I really have no idea if you'd like these or not. But I just thought, you seemed really nice when I met you my first day here. And so I wanted to bring you something," she says.

Clarice opens up the small bag and pulls out some pieces of cloth. She unwraps each, revealing beautiful sea shells. They still smell of the ocean as if having been taken out of the water. "If they aren't your kind of thing it's fine. I just... um, hoped you might like them," Clarice says as she holds them on her open hands, letting Laura take them if she likes them.

X-23 has posed:
Laura looks surprised. "These are...what are these?" She asks, investigating the shells. She's clearly never seen them. "They have a very unique scent." She will pick up two, looking at them.

Blink has posed:
As Clarice watches Laura showing some curiosity in the smells, it makes the young Asian woman's smile grow a little bit more. "These are sea shells. There are animals that grow these and live inside for protection. They leave these behind then, either when they are gone... or some creatures get too big for the old shell, and they find a bigger shell something else has left and then take it over," she says.

"I took Scott and Lorna to Genosha to the beach. It's a tropical island so it's nice and warm. And I dove down to the bottom to find these for you. I mean, not real deep. It was like, ten or fifteen feet maybe," Clarice says, giving a little wave of her hand as if not wanting it to sound like it was a bigger effort to get them than it was. "Do you like them?" she asks Laura hopefully.

X-23 has posed:
Laura holds the shells, and looks surprised a second time, at Clarice's words. "Why would you get these for me?" She tilts her head, not understanding. "I do like them, yes." She does seem a little perplexed, though.

Blink has posed:
Clarice's head tilts a little bit at the question, seeming surprised by it at first, but not seeming to mind being asked it. "I thought you were nice. When we met. I mean, you were protecting the school and didn't know me. But I liked talking with you," Clarice tells Laura.

"So I wanted to do something nice for you. You mentioned you hadn't traveled much. Just from Canada to here. I don't think they have any sea shells around here, so... I thought you might like these," Clarice says, smiling in a friendly way over to Laura. "If you'd like, I can see if I can take you where I got them sometime. It's really warm and beautiful water. Sandy beaches. And lots of shells if you search around for htem," she says.

X-23 has posed:
"No one has ever done anything like this for me." Laura says, by way of explanation. People took her to the store to buy clothes when she had no clothes. But no one has ever just given her a present "just because". "I think I would like that." she says, reaching out to take the rest of the shells Clarice has.

Blink has posed:
Blink is happy to pass them over. "It's something friends do for each other sometimes. Or even just... if you want to make someone feel good. I'd like to be friends, but I know we've barely know each other," Clarice says, giving a little shrug and smiling. "I think it's probably ok for me to take you, but we can double check to make sure. I'm really trying to avoid messing up and causing any problems here. Though Scott seemed really nice and said some things about having me around the school. So hopefully I'm doing a good job at it," she says, smiling again and stuffing her hands in her pockets now that Laura has the sea shells. "They are a little fragile. Like if you drop them on a hard floor they could break," she says.

X-23 has posed:
"I..." Laura seems confused. This is a new paradigm. "I can leave the school as I wish." She moves to put the shells in her own pockets, very carefully. "I will not break them." It's her first ever present; she's not going to break them. "I think...I would like another friend."

Blink has posed:
Blink pulls the bits of cloth out of the bag. "You can use these to wrap them up. If they clink together too much they might chip, too," Clarice says. She passes the bag over too if Laura likes, just a small plastic bag to make them easier to carry.

"Well good, then we can pick a time you'd like to go. It's a long way but with my power it's just like stepping through a doorway. So we can go whenever and come back whenever," she offers. "If you have a bathing suit you may want to bring it. And suntan lotion or anything like that you might want for the beach. A towel." Clarice flashes Laura a pretty smile. "Ok, I should go shower. The ocean leaves a bit of salt on your skin when the water dries, want to go wash it off," she says. Clarice gives Laura a warm smile and waves goodbye. "See you later Laura!" she says.
