It's All Fun and Games Until Someone Loses an I
Date of Scene: 21 March 2019
Location: New York City
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: Constantine, Hawkeye (Bishop)

Constantine has posed:
The cab ride from Josie's had been agonizing. Yeah, it wasn't far from Hell's Kitchen to the Lower East Side, even in New York traffic, but when you had certain things on your mind it seemed like forever.

When the cab stopped out front of Kate's place, John thrust some bills at the driver, saying: "Keep the change, mate," then got out of the car offering a hand to Kate.

"Your place, luv, best you leed the way, 'case your neighbours are about," he says, teasing her. At this point he honestly didn't care who saw them.

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate's mind was torn between the desires of the body, too much to drink, and the fact that she was ignoring all the warnings her brain was trying to scream that maybe she wanted to take a step back and think about this, while other parts of her brain and body were equally loud about why did they have to take a cab when there was a perfectly good alley out back of Josies?

It left Kate quiet on the ride to her place. Quiet and hyper-aware of the man beside her.

She was more than glad of the expediency of the handful of bills John threw at the driver, Kate scrabbling for her keys so that they'd be at hand before she had to search for them at her doorway. This way they could bypass the neighbours.

John knows the way, but she leads anyway, unlocking the door, and then locking it again behind him.

"Beer?" she breathes, knowing that there are several bottles still in the fridge.

Constantine has posed:
John followed Kate up the stairs to her place, and when she got them in, he follows her kicking the door closed behind them so she can lock it.

He stands there waiting, and when she offers beer, he chuckles, "Got whiskey waiting in the bed room, 'member," he closes the distatance between them puttiing his hand on her hip. "Shall we go have a taste?" he asks her, eyes cutting towards the partially open bedroom door.

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
She'd forgotten, but his offer is much better than hers. Even if it 's entirely more dangerous.

Lucky, of course, happy to see his mistress home, comes padding from the bedroom (where he's not supposed to be) wagging his tail happily. "Oh god, I forgot about him," she says on a groan. "Bad Lucky. No bedroom." Not that she intends on leaving the door open, because unwanted visitors at inopportune times is not her style.

Then again, John, or whatever it is the two of them are doing, isn't really her style either.

"Let me give him his dinner, and I'll be right in?"

Which would give her a moment to collect her thoughts as well.

Constantine has posed:
John shakes his head and laughs as Lucky emerges, breathing, "Bastard," even as he does. "Sure thing, luv," he says pecking Kate on the lips as he makes his way towards the bedroom bending down to ruffle his fur for a moment. "Didn't mean it mate, but make it quick with dinner." He gives Kate a wink as he says that then he's back on his feet and heading through the bedroom door.

He shucks his coat and tosses his tie on top of it before diving back onto the bed, and reaching for the bottle before it rolls off onto the floor.

"'Thought you said your bed doesn't squeek!" he calls out, lying but it was just another tease. He was feeling no pain right now and that sort of humour came easy in these sorts of moods.

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
Kate makes quick work of feeding Lucky. Well, she starts to, but as she fills his bowl and gives him a refill of water, her anticipation is coupled with an anxious tension she can't put her finger on that has to growing slower as the task goes on.

She does make it to the bedroom, though, after not *too* long a delay, Lucky admonished to 'stay!' in the livingroom, and behave himself while she closes the bedroom door behind her.

Constantine has posed:
John is laying stretched out on his back when she arrives, spinning tthe bottle of scotch on his chest. At the clicking closed of the door John sits up, "Wondered if Lucky had you for dinner instead," he declares as he unscrews the cap off the bottle.

"Fancy a drink?" he asks offering her the bottle.

Hawkeye (Bishop) has posed:
"Lucky? Oh no, though he sends his regards."

Kate smirks, and slowly crosses the room, making short work of the distance between door and bed. "I see you made yourself at home." She sits on the edge of the bed, and holds out her hand for the bottle, taking it when it is offered, swigging straight from the bottle.

"Hnnh," she laughs to herself, holding the bottle back to him. "Never thought I'd do that. This, I mean." She doesn't sound like she's complaining, more contemplating things.

Constantine has posed:
"Good dog that one," John says of Lucky as he hands over the bottle.

He sits up, nodding, "Figured I might as well," he says of making himself at home. Kate's contemplative mood isn't missed, however and he says:"Penny for your thoughts, luv."
