Cast of Characters: Doctor Doom, Black Queen

Doctor Doom has posed:
An island in the middle of nowhere, Earth, a secret mountain lair for Doom and a cadre of others.

Doom himself is here inspecting - and adjusting - various mystical and technological systems responsible for the protection of this secret lair. For a while he's overt here, then he's over here, then again over yonder. Oh sure, he'll walk if it's close enough but time is precious so teleporting is just as viable when going from one end of things to the other. More so, even. It doesn't really matter if this place becomes the final choice, or if they come upon a better solution later.

Black Queen has posed:
Selene Gallio appears in a wispy shadowy mist like cloud before forming up into a person. She starts to walk though, there's perhaps a chane she likes the way she gets to strut instead of teleporting and never getting to feel that sway of hips. She smirks a bit as Doom is blinking around the place, "Doing a great deal of work I see." Then she's just leaning against the nearest console. "Hmmm, I never really paid much attention to all these, modern doo-dads. I could, but why bother?" She offers in a question, knowing Doom can probably hear her, "Why not just... make it all magic, ancient rituals are hard to break. If not impossible, when done correctly."

Doctor Doom has posed:
"Mm." Doom intones, indicating he has heard her without drawing his attention off what he's currently involved with. This particular part happens to be using a tech doo-dad to run some sort of diagnostic on the console she's leaning against. Once he has things going to his satisfaction, he responds in full.

"Each has advantages; be it pure technology, pure mystical, and a synthesis of the two." he says to her succinctly, his tone not precisely warm but neither is it hostile or otherwise perturbed.

He says to her then, "Hello, L9" in a polite, conversational tone. "What happens to bring you by today?"

Black Queen has posed:
Rolling her eyes, Selene mentions, "Please, call me Selene, or The Black Queen. L9 is so pedantic." She lets out a little sigh and a bit of a smirk. "Well, before all of these, things, before lights, before you. I was doing things far more complicated than this." She offers twirling a finger about the air, like she's stirling a glass, and shadow wisps trail around her finger tip. "I was just coming by to see how things were coming along. Seeing if you wanted demons around, or just to be brooding by yourself. Plus, I was bored."

Doctor Doom has posed:
Doctor Doom says, "Selene, then; you may call me Victor." and the thing he was working on before makes a 'ding' noise. He briefly looks away from her to enter a few quick finger taps of data, then sets the device on the console.

"I'm not personally opposed to demons, so long as they're well mannered and don't devour the help unless told to, but they do tend to be a bit gauche if they're just lounging about." Doom observes her gesticulations, "Do feel free to add what measures you feel are appropriate. I'm certain if we find anything doesn't mesh well, we'll sort it out quickly enough."

Black Queen has posed:
"Add?" Selene questions a little bit, as she looks around to the room, "I would be afraid a light or a switch might not work." She laughs a little bit as she looks around some more switching to a more magical view of the room. And then she's shaking her head a bit, smiling at the designs, "These are good enough as is anyhow. I could make them better, but really it would take starting over." And she keeps twirling wisps of shadows as she looks over at the 'dinging' and the consoles, and the way they make meshes. "As for the demons, I was thinking more for protection. NOt that you or I need it, but some of the other members are rather.. fragile."

Doctor Doom has posed:
Doctor Doom intones, "Mm." as if that were agreement enough. "I recall Lex inquiring whether we could provide access to something in another dimension. It's an interesting idea, though one rife with a whole new set of problems. What do you think of it?"

Black Queen has posed:
"Easy." Offers Selene as she mentions, "I travel between dimensions quite often. We could be in a hell plane of existsence, no one would really bother us there. Or, go off into another realm. I would avoid... Limbo, for obvious reasons. But really it's a matter of just opening a gate there for the non... magically inclined." She offers in her best tone, which still is rather insulting to those. "There's really not a realm I have not been to, though it does add the layer of, someone could get trapped there for a time. How does a mortal's mind reconcile such things? Blah blah blah."

Doctor Doom has posed:
Doctor Doom considers this, silent at the moment a worker drifts a bit too close. Nothing is said, just the device he was using to run diagnostics is thrust at the passerby who - after they get over their initial shock - takes the device in hand and looks at Doom. "I /trust/ you know what to do with it." he says menacingly.

The worker sputters a bit, saying, "Y-yes sir." and moves on quickly.

As he turns his attention back to Selene, he says, "Accommodations may need made, of course. And since it's a thing easily done all the time, perhaps you'd be interested in scouting out some of these places you've encountered? We could go together, consider the merits of each and present our findings to the Council."

Black Queen has posed:
The exchange gets a mild passing glance and some look of disdain crosses the Black Queen's expression. "Why do you even keep them around?" She questions to Doom, offering, "I only keep my thralls, demons, others that I have full sway over. Even then I find them littered with incompetence, but I have not mastered yet being everywhere at the same time." She sighs and stops playing with shadow magic while she's there leaning on the console. "You would like to go to places. Where have you been? You have the smell of travel on you, but depending on where you have been would depend highly on where you should not go."

"I particularly like Hell. There are places within the realm that are far away from any civilization. Though I also appreciate some of the elental planes. Very dangerous for travel, for... others, I mean..." She chuckles a bit, "I am the only one of us who simply cannot die. So, I will take you where ever you wish to go."

Doctor Doom has posed:
"I'm not particularly fond of Hell; I've been there among a few other places, but I'll entertain it should it prove suitable." Doom says, apparently finding some advantage to an outpost there. "Good, it's a plan then. I look forward to our excursions." he says.

"As for workers... I've found when properly motivated, nurtured, and cultivated, my fellow human mortals can be quite reliable and worthwhile. Mind control has its advantages, but it can also be quite... empty and unfulfilling as a means of conquest, I've found."

Black Queen has posed:
There is a pause and Selene chuckles a bit, "Mind control? No, child, simply a matter of altering the desires the person has to live. Instead of wishing to live for themselves, they seek living for me. It's really a matter of... how much of their soul you take." And she looks over at the workers, "I would offer a demonstration, but then your worker would probably seek me out over you. And I do not want to step on any toes."

"As for going to Hell, and other places. Make a list, a bucket list, if you will, and we shall see which place suits our fancy the most for the entire group. Ahhhh, a team endeavor." There's a bit of a roll of her eyes with that, "When we were first talking of this location I offered such a solution. And it was turned down, but then again, I knew they would see the error in their ways."

Doctor Doom has posed:
Doctor Doom says, "I'm inquiring. If the Council doesn't wish to move ahead, then I can pursue my own purposes with the information gained." Of course, he could do that anyway whether the Council wishes to make use of it or not.
