Synopsis: Nuala finds out who Suzanne is, and...get's a job?
Cast of Characters: Nuala Duvall, Sister Reinhardt

Nuala Duvall has posed:
    Fired.

Nuala exits the industrial building where the manufacturing was made. Her job was really a farce to begin with, organized by Nova Corps as her cover. She had no idea what happened, and Nova had an agent that would help manage the details so that she looked good while she was operating. But with that removed support, it became remarkably clear to the board that she was not skilled to be a CEO. She exits the building, a slightly stunned look on her face.
It shouldn't have been a surprise, really. She had been mostly absentee for a few weeks, and the revelation that she made a while back to the United Nations had made people uncomfortable around her when she was there. She was an alien, or at least, in the eyes of the people she worked with. From space. It explained a lot.

She didn't have any personal affects at the office except the computer interface. She'll need to break in later to take it out. Better than admitting it was there. She stops on the street, looking around aimlessly. "Now what, Nuala?" she asks herself. "You've made a good mess of this now." There's Thor, of course, but the idea of not having an independent ability to function aside from support...it's a major blow to the ego.

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
"That's a pretty good question, Nuala." Suzanne says from a street lamp pole nearby as she looks at Nuala's stunned face. "There's no joy in mudville after all, hmm?" Suzanne takes a deep breath before she smiles to Nuala. "First time being 'on your own'?"

Nuala Duvall has posed:
Nuala spins, as if ready for an attack, before she spots Suzanne. "I remember you," she comments, "From Metropolis," she tilts her head. "Suzanne? Right?" She gives a wary look, suspicious at seeing her show up in the middle of New York City. She's not wearing her armor, but makes a move to her wrist as if there was something to access all the same out of habit. "You're in New York?"

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
"I'm all over the place, Nuala. Sometimes my own work sends me to different places to help people in need." Suzanne then tilts her head to Nuala. "Case in point. I'm going to guess you were just fired by this company you were working for."

Nuala Duvall has posed:
Nuala still looks apprehensive. "Just who are you?" she asks. The question seems reflective of a previous conversation. "Yes. Apparently they found out that I know nothing about running an automotive manufacturing company," she says. "And being from space didn't make my co-workers feel all that comfortable."

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
"I am a friend, which is something you seem to need right about now." Suzanne says bluntly. "And yes, I know you're from space. Which makes quite a few locals to earth a little jittery since they can't go into space as freely as you can. A lot of them tend to be content in their illusion of being a big fish. Sadly....they're really a small fish...in a gigantic ocean."

Nuala Duvall has posed:
"Yes," Nuala agrees, "Well, I will not be going to space any time soon," she says. "I am just a regular, unemployed human now." She arches a brow, "So if you are hoping that I could help you with something, I am afraid you are going to be let down."

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
"Actually...I'm here to help YOU." Suzanne says quietly. "In two ways. First, if you're willing, I'd like to give you another job. But there's the whole 'apprenticeship and observation time period' and all that crap." She then chuckles. "Second is just a few words: It's never hopeless." She then holds out her right hand...cuz her left hand is still in her pocket. "If you're willing, you can get started right away."

Nuala Duvall has posed:
Nuala continues to look a little guarded as the offer is made. "I am not going to reveal any of the technology I understand," she warns in response, assuming this is a ploy to get her advanced technical knowledge. "Earth isn't ready for it." She may be fired from Nova as well, but that principle she believes very strongly in. "If Lexcorp, or Von Doom, Or TCRI, or any of those other groups have sent you, I am not doing that." She doesn't hold out her hand to shake. Given her background, though, being immediately trusting is not a trait that was ever encouraged.

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
Suzanne rolls her eyes. "I refuse to work for that nutjob. Hell no, and hell FUCK no. I don't want the tech you know about, plus....I doubt the Nova Corps has anything I can use anyways. Being of the mostly grown up as the 'big fish in miniscule pond' thought process until recently sort of thing. "Plus.....from what I've seen of you....you've grown past the Nova Corp......and now they're trying to hold you back. You know what is right and what needs to be done to do so. The Nova corp likes their little box....and you've left it."

Nuala Duvall has posed:
Nuala looks a little surprised by the claim. "Okay, so you don't want the tech," she acknowledges. "The Nova Corps has rules for a reason," she defends her accusers. "They do a lot of good. I would not be who I am today if it wasn't for them. I would not even be alive." She shakes her head, seemingly at herself. "I apologize, I am terrible with people. You are offering me kindness, and I respond as if you are an attacker." She takes a breath. "What is it you want me to do?" she asks, as if creating a mental reset of the conversation.

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
"It's okay, Nuala. but, you'll learn to get better, in time. I wasn't a people person either." Suzanne keeps her hand out. "But first...you need to shake my hand. You won't work for any earth bound company, if you don't wish to, I promise."

Nuala Duvall has posed:
Nuala looks apprehensive still, but slowly reaches out her hand to shake Suzanne's, looking at it until the last moment when she takes it, and her eyes shift up to meet her face to face. "Very well," she answers, taking another deep breath and letting it out.

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
Suzanne shakes Nuala's hand and smiles, before actually taking out her left hand and shaking Nuala's hand with both hands, giving her a glimpse at something somewhat familiar on her left hand, but it doesn't look the same as.....that...no. Can't be.

Suzanne chuckles a bit. "First, don't let the Nova Corps get you down." She then shrugs. "Some of them prefer their own bubble....and we're around to help people." Left hand goes back in her pocket.

Nuala Duvall has posed:
Nuala sees the blue hue, and though it doesn't glow, and she only get's a momentary glimpse. the color itself suddenly starts to get her wheels turning in her head. She seems to mentally stall out, during the hand shake, and doesn't appear to have heard anything that Suzanne said just after that.

She glances up, her eyes still a bit wide. She surely did not see what she thought she saw. There is no reason for someone of that standing to be talking to her. "I am sorry, what was that?" she asks.

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
"I said don't let the Nova Corps get you down. We're around to help people, and give them hope. the problem with Justice is....justice is subjective between cultures. But hope...is universal." Suzanne chuckles at that last one. "Come on. We'll start with music." She says waving for nuala to follow her.

Nuala Duvall has posed:
Nuala listens closely, as if trying to dissect a puzzle in her head. "Did you say music?" she asks, walking after Suzanne. "What does music have to do with anything?"

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
"you'd be surprised at how much of a mood enhancer, and mood changer music can be. I've seen couples that have been married for a long time, just because of a song that played while they were out one day." Suzanne looks to Nuala. "But, hope is the key."

Nuala Duvall has posed:
Nuala nods. "Hope is something that takes a little more effort to hold onto these days," she says. "I know what I did was worth it," she adds. "I knew the cost, but I cannot say I was quite prepared for how it would affect me."

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
"Difficult to reach for, and grasp. But once you have it....never let go...Never lose hope." Suzanne nods a bit as they turn into another food shop. This time....they get pizza. "You're also talking to someone who had no hope at all." She says before they order.

Nuala Duvall has posed:
Nuala glances around the pizzeria, "I feel that normally on Earth, if someone bought you lunch, the next time you are supposed to buy theirs," she says. "I am afraid I cannot do that," she admits. "Why did you not have hope at all?" she asks, "If it is not too private."

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
"I'm still buying, Nuala. Perks of my job on earth...money." Suzanne then winks and has them sit down. "Nuala...I'm the younger of two siblings, though I loathe to admit it. My brother...took a 'liking' to me when I was a teen...more than a brother." She then takes a deep breath. "I told my parents and...they chalked it up to 'sibling rivalry'. They were rather surprised when I took up Shotokan martial arts.....and once I got my black belt...the next time my brother made his advances on me....I beat the crap out of him...and nearly killed him. It shocked my parents so much, that they threw me out of the house, as I turned 18. Once I did, I wandered the streets for a while, but started working for a music company. It was there I started enjoying music, and working with it. I even went into Empire Records for a time. It was during one thing there though...that I met Superman."

It's then she takes out her phone and....shows her wallpaper of a selfie with Superman. She's blushing horrily, but he's just as stoic as he always is. it's when she looks at the picture herself...that the ring actually reacts, now that her left hand is on the table....a soft glow, before it's muted. "It was then I started helping people myself....like I am helping you."

Nuala Duvall has posed:
Nuala listens carefully, it isn't a happy story. She frowns, having never had such things happen to her personally. She sits quietly, her hands folded in front of her politely, her natural military posture present. As her hand comes on the table, here eyes try not to look at it, but her peripheral attention is fully on the ring.

Then it glows. It is. It is one of those rings. The facial response is remarkably low, as if she had tried to prepare herself after the first glimpse. "I do not belong talking to you," she says decisively, almost coldly formal in her response. "I know who you are, and I am not someone worthy of your attention."

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
Suzanne looks to Nuala....and smirks as she realizes Nuala has guessed what she is. "That's the same thing I said to Brother Shon when he approached me. So, tell me....are the Asgardians your friends?"

Nuala Duvall has posed:
"They are," Nuala says, "But that has little to do with anything," she says. "I helped them because it was the right thing to do, not because I was trying to be a hero. All I did was help keep their ship running as long as I can. I did not even succeed. It crashed into the ocean." Okay, she did a lot more than that, but she doesn't bother mentioning the rest.

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
"And....you also helped heal quite a few of the Asgardians with your ship." Suzanne then takes a deep breath. "But you kept it running long enough for the Asgardians to get off the ship....and to safety. You may not think you're worthy of someone's notice, but you are." She then looks up as the pizza is delivered. "So, I say again....don't lose hope."

Nuala Duvall has posed:
Nuala frowns, "It is not that I am losing hope," Nuala clarifies. "God may just be done with what I was sent to do. Maybe this is how my purpose ends," she confesses. "And I will simply live the rest of my life out quietly and alone." She gives a non-commital shrug. "That would not be so bad, I suppose."

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
"that's the talk of someone losing hope, Nuala." Suzanne says and pointedly pokes the woman in the middle of the chest. "And...your 'purpose' hasn't ended. You make yourself sound like a tool....and you're not. I knew there was something special about you the moment I met you, Nuala. You offered to help the Asgardians without a moment of hesitation...and without expecting them to repay you. You WANT to help people. I can see that."

Nuala Duvall has posed:
"No," Nuala says, "No I really do understand, but I am trying to learn to be content with where things are. Hope is good, but there are more important things to hope for than for myself to have some status or recognition. It is fine if God is the only one who knows. My father used to say, '<God plus nothing is everything. Everything minus God is nothing>," she says it in Astonian, then translates. "Roughly translated, If with God it is not enough, without God nothing will be enough."

Sister Reinhardt has posed:
Suzanne shakes her head. "Well, if you're going to think of things that way....enjoy the pizza." She then tilts her head. "Plus, you did promise to work for me, so you're going to learn music. Everything else....can be forgotten about...at least for now. Especially if you're going to be stubborn."
