What's New Pussycat

Location:	Tribeca - Manhattan
Synopsis:	A true ca-tastrophe struck Tribeca as feline hordes invaded during lunch hour and a brave band of .. well not heroes but they were brave dealt with it.

Nyx has posed:
New York.

The City that never sleeps.

The Big Apple.

The City of Dreams.

None of that is really applicable right now with it being lunch time in lower Manhattan on a Thursday.

People are bustling from a variety of offices which vary from standard work places to the Triskelion home of SHIELD out and about to get their lunches, shop in the Westfield Mall, or take a smoke break.

That is certainly what Samantha is up to, wearing a SHIELD jacket over her fatigues. The commisary is excellent but she lived on that food for weeks, all meals, before the offer was made to join. So she is stepping out of a greek wrap place.


Which is right about when things start to go absolutely nuts. Dozens and dozens of feral cats stream out of the alleys and into the various shops much to shouts of alarm and surprise from patrons and staff alike.

The cats aren't going into the food establishments, they seem to be targeting electronics, jewelry, and bank branches.

One cop gets jumped by at least five feral felines at once before he can draw his service pistol.

Sonya Blade has posed:
The hat hits the desk with a light tap as the bill hits. She walks around said desk to grab a piece of paper up right when her wrist beeps. She blinks and looks down at it before saying, "Really?" The woman rolls her eyes and immediately whips the hat back up and then looks over to her wrist again. She taps a couple things in and then races back out the door she had only just walked in to. She calls out, "Heading out, again..."

Only a minute later there's the roaring sound of a motorcycle even as a hidden drone zips out of its spot and races after it. The invisible thing flying after the woman even as she weaves through traffic with ease. Sonya revs the engine a couple of times even as she moves, "Cats? What the hell?"

Arella Despana has posed:
Arella Despana is eating a Reuben sandwich and taking readings using her tablet when the chaos erupts. It was a nice day up until this weird event. A couple of cats go for Arella's tablet. The Svartalfar is having none of it. She is incredibly fast and strng so the poor cats are shaken off. One is kicked into the air and flies across the road. She curses in her native tongue. For once at least the plainly non human woman was not the center of attention.

Nyx has posed:
It is true the dark elf is not the center of attention. Today is not her day on the catwalk.

Also Sonya will quickly have trouble driving her bike without hitting cats with it, which is causing rippling traffic accidents as the cats rush out onto the streets with their loot and cars swerve and brake to avoid them.

The cats flung off Arella's tablet don't come bounding back, though six more come out from under her chair, from around the corner, and out from under a parked car to leap on her, scratch scratch.

Several more cops get swarmed as the feline thieves start hand off their stolen goods to fast lean cats and go back for seconds.

Chaos. A sheer Catastrophe.


Samantha pauses midbite on her greek wrap eyes widening as she looks around at everything "Holy shit." she mutters and then with a yelp goes into motion dropping her wrap as she runs to try to help the police officer, flinging cats this way and that even as more cats head towards her and the obvious cop. "Ack" kicking one lightly away and then getting buried in twelve cats that swarm her (But do not knock her over).

Still no sign yet of the source.

Sonya Blade has posed:
The cats cause her top have to come to a stop and leap off her motorcycle. She lands with a grumble and even as cats seem to gather near her she whips something into her hand, looks at the cats and blows them a kiss. A purple powder flows into the air toward the cats and any hit by it will find themselves quite paralyzed. She shakes her had, "Down kitty." After blowing them a kiss, she turns her gaze toward the chaos about her. Dark Elf, fighting the cats, not the source. Keep an eye on. Sam, not the source. Familiar. Seen around office? Cop, in trouble. She races in that direction to help the cop and uses kicks and slaps to try to help him, "What's the situation? Anyone see when and where this started?"

Arella Despana has posed:
The cats keep piling on Arella and she decides to take it off the ground. The Svartalfar cannot fly but she is dextrous and physically strong. Arella conjure her dark armor from the aether and scrambles up the nearest building. Time to make an exit. Hopefully the cat s would not be able to reach her twenty maybe thirty feet up a building with very little purchase for climbing. No time to worry about helping anybody else.

Nyx has posed:
A whole lot of kitties go stiff and fall over paralyzed at the dust hitting them and paralyzing them.

The police officer that Sonya is helping is scratched up but not too badly harmed looking around wild eyed. "I .. I don't know... these cats just came out of everywhere...."

Fun facts about New York. There are tens of thousands of ferals cats in the City of Dreams.


Samantha is really trying to not hurt the feral cats as they flail at her, doing more damage to her jacket than they are to her from the look of it. She finally lets out a frustrated noise and shakes hard like a dog getting out of the water sending cats flying in every direction away from her (perhaps a bit hard).


Strolling out of one of the alleys is a figure in a black leather jacket, ripped jeans, and sneakers wearing a geometric cat mask now. (https://imgur.com/a/S3Y12Fh)

"Work faster my citizens... the Lord of Cats demands tributes!"

Sonya Blade has posed:
A look over at Arella Despana, she blinks a few times as she watches that before saying, "That, is one way to deal with cats." She then swats a cat aside only to see the person in the cat mask comes out and she sighs, "Really?" Sonya swats aside yet another cat and looks at it as it falls away, "Hey!" She calls out and starts after the cat queen or whatever that person is, "I don't know who you are but either stop it now or I stop you. No inbetween."

Arella Despana has posed:
Arella sticks to the side of buildings - she sees the 'cat person' and starts to shift her position leaping from elevated ledge to elevated ledge trying to get above the offending masked person. She is standoffish though and prefers not to immediately engage - leaving an opening for Samantha and Sonya to make the first move. If they do not it would be Arella's turn to pounce. Noone tries to steal her tablet without getting a hiding. She had every intention of bending this person over her knee and giving them a good public spanking.

Nyx has posed:
Several cats gather under the spot Arella is perched upon, trying to do the math of how to get up and take her tablet and failin. They haven't forgotten her though.

The Lord of Cats tilts it's masked head and studies the approaching Sonya. "How Un-fur-tunate." and then the masked figure lifts their hands and twists them in an arcane gesture and flings a sleep spell at Sonya "Why don't you take a Cat Nap meow."

Yup this person belongs in Gotham.


Samantha shakes a couple of extra cats off her now and also notices the Lord of Cats. "Halloween wanna be ... asshole..." is cursed and she also starts towards the figure and their feline entourage punting cats out of her way as she stomps.


The Lord of cats looks at Samantha and twists another spell into being and flings it "Cat Scratch Fever" and ... okay that is impressive.

A Spectral Panther paw the size of a car appears and claws down Samantha's front sending her flying backwards her SHIELD gear slashed but she doesn't seem to be cut in half.... there is a crunch when she hits the building behind her, though it is the glass of the skyscraper.

Sonya Blade has posed:
A frown and Sonya shakes her head, "Puns no...ow..." She blinks as she feels that spell hit her and she stumbles back a step. She closes her eyes a moment as she nearly goes to a knee before she looks up slowly and states, "No." She shakes her had and with a wince she bites down on her own lip and lets out a grunt. She then slowly stands up, "Yeah, I'm not sleepy."

Then suddenly Sam is getting attacked by a panther. She blinks at the thing and looks over at Sam before blinking again. This went from annoying to dangerous. Sonya suddenly rushes forward with gritted teeth and fist raised, "That's it, you're going down here and now!" With that she's going to try to smash that cat mask.

Arella Despana has posed:
Arella despite being armored and elevated just above the Lord of Cats is still standoffish. It made little sense to jump into the fight with too many people fighting at once. But Arella is too filled with spite to remain completely on the sidelines. A brick is thrown with terrific force from the elevated position at the back of the Lord of Cat's head. A nasty little suprise attack.

Kid has posed:
Well, this is a catastrophy. Kid was just walking along in down town, minding his own buissness. He was actually enjoying himself a purrrrfectly made mango pie. As he was taking it easy after his last...adventure. However as he went to take a bite - he ends up biting thin air. His eyes widen...as he sees the fiends red-pawed!

A group of cats running off with his preciouse pie. Oh hells no. Kid chases after the troublesome felines with avengence. Only to come to a stop when he sees...the entire downtown area was being catnapped. He blinks and just stares as if to say 'The Hell is this?'

And than he notices the other folks. While he recognizes Arella, the other two where knew. But at the moment he was just annoyed. So despite his bandaged armed, he cracks his knuckles preparing for a thrown down with this whiskered foes!

Cat-a-clysm.

The Lord of Cats really expected Sonya to crumple to sleep. "Well.. that is in-fur-iating..." is said clear as a bell.

Dozens of cats surge up to swarm onto Sonya now trying to slow her down and claw her up. Many are forgetting their looting of the local populance and shops to come to their Lord's aid.

Speaking of coming to their Lord's aid, one of the felines leaps up to try to intercept the brick, which does not go well for the cat, we shant speak of that. The brick does crack into the back of the Cat Lord's mask causing his head to snap forward hard and an exclamation of pain and anger, but not drop him. "W.." a cough "Who dares!" looking around and then about half the cats on the street and the Lord of Cats looks at Arella.

You know that movie where zombies overcome a barrier defense by climbing onto each other in a writhing mass of bodies. Like that but cats and now coming for Arella.


Meanwhile Sam picks herself up, glass from the wall behind her crashing to the ground as she extracts herself from the side of the skyscraper "Oh.. ok... now it is on like donkey kong you masked freak!" and she starts forward again, lifting her arm and pointing her palm at the Lord of Cats ignoring the cats piling onto her again trying to stop her as she trudges closer.

Two felines deposit a Mango Pie at the feet of the Lord of Cats in Tribute.

Sonya Blade has posed:
And then she is swarmed by cats. Sonya did not expect this to be her day. She spins this way and that to try to get them off before saying, "Humane Society be damned." She raises her hand up and then brings it down hard. A blast of pure kinetic energy smashes into the street with the force of a grenade and sends Sonya flipping up into the air, likely sending quite a few cats flying as well. She winces a little as she shakes her hand off and glares at the guy in the mask.

Of course, it is then that a gorilla comes running in and Sonya sucks in a sharp breath, "One problem at a time, please." She then rushes forward. She flips into the air and attempts to srping off a lamp post, flip and attempt to axe kick the cat lord right on his head, "Lights out time, bucko."

Arella Despana has posed:
Arella follows up the thrown brick with something that she has learned recently raises her middle finger at the Cat Lord. Revealing just how annoyed Arella is a second brick is thrown but not at the Cat Lord. This one flies straight and true towards the Cat Lord's mango pie. Arella is aiming squarely below the belt at the supervillain's lunch. Fair play Arella thinks since this person ruined her lunch. The cats that are piling up to reach her are evaded as she jumps to another rooftop at the last second.

Kid has posed:
Kid blinks as he sees the writhing mass of cat bodies like a zombie horror movie gone...oddly adorable. But that wasn't his goal. His goal was his pie! He continued to run forward, ignoring Sonya cat-scattering explosion, and Sam's advances towards the Lord of Cats.

And than it happened. Someone bricks his pie!!!! He looked to the source of where the brick came from and sees Arella...than back to the Cat Lord...and than stops.

He cracks each knuckle. He can't rightly blame Arella, not like SHE controls the cats. But this son of a hairball took his pie and got it smashed. It was time to go APE!

And well, no one wants a charging gorilla at them. Especially not a charging enraged gorilla barring their canines and looking to smash things into the ground. That what was comming at the Cat Lord, for if Kid get close enough he was going to give the Cat Lord a double fist smash!

Nyx has posed:
Things have gotten .. hairy... for The Cat Lord.

There is a charging Gorilla, a leaping Sonya, and a stomping Samantha all zeroing in to try to beat the snot out of him now.

"You've got to be Kitten me." he says in an airy sing song fashion and then whips his hands into a quick twist, magic rippling through the air as he vanishes in a small surge of Cats. Yes Cats. Like he swapped places with a bunch of cats.

It will need to be seen if the various heroes, gorillas, and such, crash into each other.

On any regard the cats are fleeing in all directions now with their Lord having vanished on them.


Samantha tries to stop herself but yeah she is liable to crash hard into Kid and Sonya.

Sonya Blade has posed:
For her part, at least, Sonya is not a rookie when it comes to changing plans. She comes down with a crashing foot right into the area where cats and cat lord alike were. Her well honed battle instincts tell her that there's a gorilla and a Sam are coming. OK, ok, they tell her she is about to be hit and she quickly rolls with her axe kick and sommersaults away from the situation. What happens to the other two is of no concern to her as she stands up and adjusts her hat that seems to miraculously have stayed on this whole time. She looks back and then she quickly pulls out her phone, "Well, not only am I calling this in but I'm yelling at whoever sent me out to deal with cats."

Arella Despana has posed:
Arella jumps down from her perch as the cats disperse. "Well that happened," the plainly non human woman can be heard to say. She is not in anyones way and merely watches what tthe other participants in this affray are doing. A prelude to her leaving and continuing her epic saga elsewhere.

Kid has posed:
Unfortantely, Kid is not so Lucky as to avoid the oncomming Sam. A moment there a Catlord, the next just cats as he had reared up, prepare to slam down. Sure Sonya managed to roll out opf the way....but he ended up getting a Sam to the chest, which makes him tumble back, rolling away from the sheer force of the attack. He groans in pain. All he wanted was his pie. That all. Why cruel world? Why!

Nyx has posed:
Sam yelps as she slams into Kit like a freight train really, well a VW Bus at least. Sending them both tumbling and scattered on the pavement even as Sonya springs away.

As Sam levers herself back up to her feet she cries out in dismay "Why am I covered in PIE!?" and looks around confused "Where... where did he go?" and zeroes in on Sonya. "... you get to write the report on this." she is a trainee after all "What... just happened..." so confused as she looks to Kid "Are you okay?" okay now she is worried she broke the Gorilla.

Sonya Blade has posed:
"Sure." Sonya states to Nyx only looking back briefly and rolling her eyes. She then is walking away and on the phone, "Cats, freakin' cats. A guy who controls cats. No, not panthers or tigers. House cats." She picks up the motorcycle where it fell over earlier, "This wasn't even remotely something I was needed for." She then shakes her head, "Tell ya what, next time you see cats, just call Spider-Man or something." And with that the motorcycle roars off back to where it came from.

Arella Despana has posed:
Arella Despana has officially had enough of this day and makes a beeline for the nearest public bar. She pushes past Kid and Sam in the process. "Excuse me," says the Svartalfar.

Kid has posed:
     Kid lifts his head up from the pavement and glares at Sam as if to say 'Do I LOOK fine?' With another groan, he rolls over, regardless of weather or not Sam was still there, before pushing himself back into his feet. Now his entire body was sore. What he would give to have a drink this second. he doesn't even regester Arella pushing past. Next time he sticking to the night life!
