Synopsis:	Samuel talks to Illyana about a public mutant hero team, while Kitty asks a big favor of Illyana

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie is down in the kitchen. He is making Tea and while doing so making himself a salad. The young man seems in a bit of a thoughtfull mood tonight. He is carefull not to cut his fingers while chopping the veggies.

Magik has posed:
The arrival of Illyana is heralded by a bright light in the shape of a disc in the corner of the kitchen. The circle travels upwards and reveals the woman who controls those discs thanks to her mutant ability. Once the circle reaches the apex, it disappears and leaves Illyana behind.

She gives a nod and a smile to Sam as she heads right for the freezer. A moment later, she has a pint of Magnum chocolate ice cream in her hand. She squeezes the container to break up the chocolate inside which surrounds the ice cream. Then she finds a spoon and moves to settle into a seat at the table, tucking up a foot on the seat with her while the other rests on the floor. She scoops out some of the decadent dessert and takes a big bite.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over and says "Hey ill, just the mutamt sorceress, AH was looking for." He gives her a smile and says "What do you think about the teams that go public. You know like Avengers, Justice League Fantastic Four and such?" He continues with his veggie chopping

Magik has posed:
Illyana finishes up the bite she just took then shrugs. "Depends. Some of them are public but still wear masks, others aren't. I personally think they are just asking for someone to come hunt down those they care about by being open with their identities. I mean, if I was a bad guy, it's what I would do. Why?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie is at the kitchen island making a salad slicing a cucumber as he talks with Illyana. "Been thinking there needs to be a more public majority mutant team. Something where we can interact with normal folks more, and try to get people more used to us and accustomed. Try to show no reason to fear us.

Magik has posed:
"Well, there are teams with mutants on them. Like the Avengers. Which gives some positive publicity." Illyana gets another scoop of ice cream, being sure to get some of the chocolate bits in with it. She takes the bite and savors it with a roll of the eyes, and an exaggerated happy sound at the flavor. After she swallows, she continues. "If you were to start something like that, it needs to be as far removed from here as possible."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde comes into the kitchen, Lockheed riding shotgun on her shoulder as he so often does. She'd heard Illyana might be in here from one of the students, and seeing that she is indeed here brings a smile to Kitty's face. "Hey Sam, hey Illy," Kitty says, moving over to give her long-time friend a tight hug if allowed. "Been too long," Kitty tells the other woman as she grins. Kitty leans back against a counter. She's going very casual today, jeans and a t-shirt, this one appropriate for the Astrophysics department she was studying with. It has the Milky Way embossed on the front, with an arrow pointing to a tiny part of the outer edge and a sign by it, "You Are Here".

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over to her, and says "Yea, will admit it is one of the parts of the idea, that Ah am no as happy about. But Ah am considering it. Something with the newer generation of faces to try to get it wen ya say Mutant, first thing that comes to peoples mine is not Brotherhood of Evil Mutants. Ah still working out details if it is even possible to do. If ah do it, you" and as kitty comes in he smiles and nods to her "And you would both have a place there if your interested."

Magik has posed:
Illyana unfolds slightly, putting her foot on the floor and pint on the table so she can return Kitty's hug. "Always is too long. Stupid demons have no sense of propriety."

She nods toward Sam as she tucks her foot back on the seat again, picking up her ice cream and fishing around inside the container with her spoon. "Sam here is wondering about starting a mutant team that is public."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde seemed to catch the last bit of what Illyana had said. As the rest of the context is given, Kitty says, "Yes, keeping it from being associated with here would be a big part of it." She gives a firm nod of agreement before pushing off the counter to go over and check what is in the refrigerator. "If you need any help getting some computers set up for it Sam, let me know. I'll be glad to help," she offers. Kitty comes out of the fridge with a bottle of grape juice, and also a few slices of salami that she offers to Lockheed one at a time, the purple dragon munching on them happily.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods a bit to this and says "Ah will keep it in mind and checking what kind of funds Ah would need for legal reasons and such, it is one of the bigger logestical problems right now." He tells the ladies. He adds bacon bits, cheese, and crutons onto his salad. He will stop mid pour of crutons looking over at Kitty's hand and says "Is there some news, we should know from you Kitty?" Did he slip into his big brother voice, it sounds like it.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde takes a sip of her grape juice, and at the question from Sam, she looks curious for a moment, until she notices he's looking at her hand. "Oh, yes!" she says, breaking out in a huge grin. "Was meaning to catch you about that actually, Illyana," she says. "Well, that, and there's a more serious thing I need to bring up too. But the good news first," Kitty says.

She holds out her left hand, revealing a yellow gold ring, with diamonds and a ruby in the center. It looks expensive, and also has a patina that suggests age rather than something newly purchased. "Jason, the guy I've been seeing from Gotham? My mom came in town three weeks ago, for Purim? And met him, and mom and dad both gave him their blessings. And... he gave me a promise ring. Not really engaged yet but... a sign he's serious about me. It belonged to his father's mother," Kitty says as she holds out her hand so both can see the ring, but Illyana in particular.

Magik has posed:
"That's gorgeous," Illyana says, stowing the spoon in the pint and reaching out her now free hand to take Kitty's. She turns it this way and that (if permitted, of course) to see how the light plays off the stones. Then she looks to her friend, a bright smile on her face but her pale eyes are cooler than the facial expression. "Congratulations, I guess? A little fast, isn't it?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will whistle softly seeing the ring better, and says "Well if your ma and pa approve of him, thats a good thing. We still need to meet him to make sure he knows he hurts you, gonna put him into a world of hurt." He smirks and then sighs "I really need the change to intimidate him before ya introduce him to Logan, or I won't be able to intimidate him." He jokes

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde's eyes are on Illyana, obviously caring and concerned about her reaction to it. "It is a little fast. And, just a promise ring for now. We've been together a few months," she says. Kitty adds in a more quiet voice for Illyana, "Pete and I talked, right after he got back. We agreed we were both moving on from each other. And I told him about Jason and he wished me luck in it," Kitty says.

Kitty looks over to Sam and grins softly and nods to him. "A few people have met him. Rogue and Remy, and Ellie. Ellie let him know she'll explode him if he hurts me. And, he's got a good family. They've kind of told him the same thing I think," she says with a soft, perhaps even bashful smile at that part. She looks back to Illyana, eyes hoping she has her friend's approval in this.

Magik has posed:
"If you're sure. I still think it's a bit fast but who am I to judge?" Illyana says with another shrug. She goes back to digging in the pint with her spoon as she considers. "I do need to meet him though. I'm quite certain I can put the fear into him, if he hurts you."

She pauses before she takes her next bite, something sinking in. "You said good news first. So what's the bad news?"

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie nods his head a bit to Illyana's question, He does finish his salad putting the left overs in the fridge before moving to have a seat as he listens to them.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde takes a seat for the bad news part, sitting next to Illyana. "I am going to be going to Asia, with Lady Croft, who offered her estate in England to us for a second school. To try to stop some evil beings who are seeking a place of magical power. They have been killing off the guardians of it," Kitty says.

"I've fought one briefly. She could turn to smoke, and reach inside someone to grab their organs. Apparently they are only harmed by copper. Or... magic," Kitty says. Which probably is a clear enough lead in to where this is going. "I know it's asking a lot. But, first, would you be willing to teleport us to Asia when it's time? And second... would you let me take the Soulsword to fight them with it? If you had need while I'm gone, you could summon it back to you. And I won't be any worse off than if you say no," Kitty asks. "Doctor Strange has given me a gauntlet to help in the task, though it is less of an offensive weapon. We are also seeking some other items that might help fight them, but... I figured I'd at least ask. If you want to say no, I'll understand. It's part of you."

Magik has posed:
Illyana goes quite still as she considers the request. Then she stands up abruptly, her chair making a rough sound on the floor as it is pushed back with the force of her rising. She moves to the freezer and puts her half eaten pint there in the back behind the bags of vegetables, where she keeps it. The kids never look behind the vegetables. Then she goes to the sink and cleans her spoon, keeping her eye on the washing instead of looking at her friend.

"I'll transport you. And you can use the sword. I'll summon it for you so hopefully you won't have to go into too dark of a place to summon it yourself. Just let me know when."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will watch Illyana more than Kitty with this. He will study her, trying to read her. The two people in the room are some of the few who maybe able to read her. "If it helps, Ah have a sword, which used to be magic, could you put a whammy or something on it, and her use it if needed?" He will offer. He will quickly add in "Not trying to make things harder or stick my nose in where it wanted. but if will work, then you both would have magic swords during it."

Shadowcat has posed:
Rather than showing relief, Kitty's expression shows small amounts of concern as she reads Illyana's body language. "Thank you Illyana. It means a lot. Both to protect what's at risk, and the people going," she says.

Kitty rises slowly and moves over nearer to Illyana. "I know how much I'm asking of you," she adds more quietly. "Thank you."

Illyana is one of the few... two probably... who have any idea what is inside of Kitty, and how summoning the Sword might affect her. "How are things going for you in? Are you spending most of your time in Limbo, or have you been able to be back here a bit more often?" she asks. "Pete was here for a month or so, but I think he's left again for awhile just recently," she says with a sigh.

Kitty looks to Samuel, and gives him a smile at the offer. She looks back to Illyana, Kitty not knowing nearly as much about magic as her friend does. Even the Soulsword is just a sword for her, capable of harming magic creatures, but not something that allows her the uses Illyana gets from it.

Magik has posed:
"Perhaps both would be in order. A regular sword would be able to harm beings that are not magical in nature. The soulsword can't do that for you," Illyana muses as she dries off the spoon then puts it away in the drawer.

She glances at Sam then back to Kitty but there is still that bit of distance that appeared at the question that was asked. Something has been shut down in the woman for some reason. "I spend most of my time there these days. I find it..." She seems to be searching for the word then she chooses one that might not quite be the right fit. "...easier."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie will consider it for a moment, and then will just be blunt "Illyana, will you be safe?" He remembers a time where if Illyana did not have the sword Limbo was a very very dangerous place even for her. He wants both young women safe, and may not know the full bond between the two of them. He seems to be holding some thoughts back still though.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde seems to have noticed the change and it is concerning her as well. Before Kitty can ask more about it, Sam starts bringing up the questions that were going through her head as well. "I don't want to do something that would put you at risk," Kitty says softly. "And... I'd ask your help in going, but it's someone else's task that I had a hard time getting included in. I don't know that I could bring others," she says quietly. "Though there's no one I'd rather have at my side if I could."

Magik has posed:
"I appreciate your concern but I will be fine there. As Kitty said, if I have need enough, I will draw it back to me." Illyana knows she won't. She wouldn't leave Kitty potentially at risk to save herself.

"Of course whoever this is that you are helping wouldn't want anyone else along against magic users. Even someone who happens to have an army of demons at their disposal and more spells than those you likely face." She tilts her head then just lets go.

There is a wavering around her then a moment later, the Darkchilde is in front of them with her cloven hooves, horns, and glowing yellow eyes. It's easier to hide her emotions that way and it gets her point across. "If you are harmed, know this: I will personally kill the person you are helping. It will be slow and painful and I will enjoy every second of it." There is a flash of light, showing she is summoning a stepping disc to depart.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie frowns at this. He will look to Illyana, and says "Come see me tommorrow, i want to finish talking to you about the team." He says it with a bit of firmness trying to make it sound all leaderly and knowing it mihgt piss her off a little but also that if she listens he will get to check up on her.

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty understands the reaction. Oh does she ever understand it. She sees the disc appearing and only says quietly, "Love you, Illyana." She'll watch as the other departs before finally letting out a breath.

Keeping secret identities is frequently one of the worst things about being a hero. Particularly when multiple loved ones don't know about each other. Kitty is finding that out, time and again of late.

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie looks over to Kitty, and says "I will keep an eye on her as well as she will let me." He is pretty sure she knows how the other young woman can be. "You need my sword? I would offer my armor but there is no way it will fit you."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde watches Illyana disappear and then moves over to Sam. If he allows she gives him a hug. Because sometimes, you just need one. The reminder of what Illyana has been through causes those moments sometimes. "If it's not a magical one, I have my katana which I'm the most practiced with," she tells him. "I'll take both with me, though the Soulsword can knock people out if need be," she says.

She looks over to Sam. "If she has need for the Soulsword, make her summon it, ok? I'll take a satellite phone, can even call me to let me know first if it's not an immediate need. That's the thing that worries me most, that she might have need but she won't summon it for not wanting to risk it being a bad moment for it."

Cannonball has posed:
Samuel Guthrie hugs her back patting her back "Ah will do my best, Ah am not sure Ah can make her do anything but Ah will do my best that ah can. And maybe Ah can get Pixie to check on it, not sure if that will happen or not." He will add "Yea my sword is normal now, dwarven made but normal."

Shadowcat has posed:
Kitty Pryde smiles to Sam as she lets him go finally. "Thank you. Hopefully it'll be a quick trip, and she won't have need," Kitty says. "I'd so love to have her along, too, I would," she says with a sigh. Kitty picks up her grape juice and sips, while Lockheed flaps his wings to return to her shoulder after having hopped down while Kitty was hugging people. "Getting late, I'm going to head to bed. Let me know if you need computer help with your new idea," she says with a smile, and waving good bye.

Samuel Guthrie nods, and says "Well if you ned us call us, and we will come ad bring thunder and lightning with it, legitimitly if Storm is here, I am sure there will be both.
