A Heist in Hinkley
Date of Scene: 17 April 2019
Location: South Hinkley - Gotham
Synopsis: Washington and Stockholm pull of a heist against some gangs doing a drug deal.
Cast of Characters: Aguila 6, Stockholm

Aguila 6 has posed:
The neighborhood of South Hinkley isn't the nicest place in Gotham. All it's really got going for it is the big stadium. That, and the drugs.

A couple of the gangs that deal in this area are currently making an exchange behind a mostly abandoned shopping center. It's a pretty tense situation, everyone's got a gun drawn pretty much and there's duffel bags full of cash being exchanged for smaller gym bags of illegal narcotics. The gangs, while looking ready to rumble, are actually acting professional, just on edge.

There's a squad of soldiers waiting in a nearby building with a vantage over the transaction. A table that has been pulled up to the window has a pair of men on it. One has a medium machine gun with it's bipod deployed. The other has a rifle. They're watching the goings on outside. The soldiers may be outnumbered by the drug gangs but they're well armed, wearing body armor and carrying themselves like the professional warriors they are.

Standing in front of them is Grant Washington, Aguila 6, their captain. He speaks quickly in English for the benefit of the stranger they're working with while one of his men translates what he says into Spanish, "You know the plan. We'll approach from the north side and push them into the machine gun fire. Try to avoid grenades as we don't want to damage the goods or the money. I want precision fire from everyone here. Fireteam one takes the west side, fireteam two will take the east. I'll go right up the middle." Washington looks towards the guys on the table and says, "Don't engage until they start to try to get past you, then waste them."

The mercenary commander looks at the stranger again, "My thought is you can try to get in before my guys make their appearance. Get in close and be ready when the action starts. If that's alright with you." Then he lifts his chin and asks, "You need any equipment?"

Stockholm has posed:
The local guide.

The familiar face, especially these days in Gotham.

Stockholm is known to be two things.

Dependable.

Crazy.

When the mercenary commander addresses her Julia looks up from sharpening checking her gear. She is wearing a couple of bandoleers of what looks like smoke grenades and a staff that looks like a Bo Staff. Sure she has guns on her hips and generally military khackis and body armor, but it is an odd combination.

"hmmm what..." she drawls a moment then grins, it is a bit manic. "I'm good on gear, this is my home town and these are small fry.. not like this job is knocking over any of the shakers gangs so we shouldn't expect too much to go too sideways." a rolling shrug from the lady.

"I.. rrrm.. do suggest you use your gas masks though if you get close enough to the smoke though....." she taps her grenades. "You do have filters that can handle.. mm tear gas conditions yes?"

Aguila 6 has posed:
"Our masks can take it," Washington replies as he says something in Spanish to his men. They produce protective masks from pouches on their left legs and put them on. The Captain follows suit, ready to rock.

"Okay," he says with his voice now slightly distorted by the mask. "Okay. So we'll start on your 'go'. As soon as you send the signal over the radio or spring into action we'll move in and start taking these guys down." He makes a couple of gestures and speaks some Spanish before switching back to English, "We'll exit this building on the north side when you give the word and move in to assist you."

Stockholm has posed:
Julia smiles brightly to Grant "Welcome to Gotham by the by." she fishes around in the pack on her back and pulls out a mask, it is downright demonic but definitely has an integrated gas mask, black as her soul. She pulls it on and then just pushes off the crate she was sitting on heading for an exit.

~Comm check~ she notes cheerfully before she approaches the exchange.

She is able to be tracked by Grant's team because they know where she is and don't take eyes off her. That said she would be a pain in the ass to see coming because she starts to move with some definite skill at approaching targets, especially at night, and especially in Gotham.

Once she is much, much closer to the exchange, around a corner from them really at ground level, she cracks two of the smoke grenades and hurls them down, one on each side, followed by two more rolled at slightly different angles, equal split before the first two hit.

That billowing smoke, well it isn't smoke entirely, it is a chemical weapon which is very Gotham in nature.

Where Julia got her hands on some of Scarecrows fear gas is a good question. The results though is absolute bat shit crazy chaos as the two gangs fears roar to the surface as they face each other.

Aguila 6 has posed:
Picking up a rifle with a grenade launcher mounted to it Washington leads his men towards the northern exit of their building. -Read you loud and clear.-

The mercenaries keep track of their ally so as not to accidentally fire at her. One of them makes a positive comment about sneaky she is in Spanish and the others chuckle.

The signal to go being gas pouring out of grenades is quickly acted upon by Washington and his men. One fireteam moves to the opposite side of the parking lot behind the shopping center while the other takes position to cover them just outside of the door. Washington himself levels his weapon and slowly moves forward, his boots rolling smoothly from heel to toe so that he can move without moving his rifle very much.

Amidst the gas the gangsters start to cough, covering their mouths with sleeves or bandanas to the best of their ability. It doesn't take long for the poison to kick in, though. Soon their weapons are pointed at one another. A moment later a gunshot rings out and the drug dealers find themselves battling with one another.

The first of the Aguila mercenaries takes a shot, firing a double tap at one of the crooks. Some of them turn to look at the masked soldiers, starting to freak out even more. One attempts to just run in the opposite direction, only to be cut down as glass shatters and the machine gunner on overwatch mows them down.

Stockholm has posed:
Stockholm just laughs, and laughs, like this is some hilarious joke. "Embrace your fears buckos!" and she slams the bo staff on the ground.

A blade pops out, scythe-like, and she ducks out from the corner where she had cover now. She honestly seems to either be confident in the mercenaries professional demeanor or she doesnt care as she moves in and slices one of those fleeing in terror. The black demon gas mask she is wearing is not doing much to help the sanity or serenity of those trying to flee or stand and fight, also her cackling isn't helping either.

Okay yeah this city is messed up to say the least.

The gang bangers though are firing at everything now, screaming like terrified people, because they are.

The flight and fight responses amped to 11 and a lot of adrenaine.

Which means the money and drugs are likely forgotten.

Aguila 6 has posed:
There's plenty of stuff that the gangsters are concerned with at the moment and their dope and cash is long forgotten. Instead they try to gun down the demons, or the aliens in their strange masks. They're really making a mess of things. One of them goes down to Stockholm's blade, bleeding profusely as they collapse to the ground. Others fall to bullets, both their own and those fired by the mercenaries.

Each fireteam moves with coordination as they provide covering fire for one another. Captain Washington moves into position behind a vehicle and looks through the red dot sight on his rifle, lining up and firing controlled pairs into the chests of the drug dealers. More machine gun fire erupts from the now shattered window. It's a brutal, efficient display of teamwork.

Stockholm has posed:
Stockholm is not efficient, but she is deadly brutal.

She dances amongst the moonlight and smoke, or is it bullets and smoke. Still she twirls along into the smoke. Twirling the scythe blade and gutting someone who spins and tries to shoot her, spilling his guts out steaming onto the pavement before drawing a pistol from her side and shooting a guy two far away to get to with the blade that was swinging to shoot the laughing demon lady.

"God I love this town." Julia laughs and then ducks behind one of the gang members cars as things get a bit hot there. ~All good Cap'?~

Aguila 6 has posed:
Captain Washington ends up pulling ahead of his fireteams as they pin down the gangsters composed enough to get behind cover after gunning down the others. -All good.- As he nears his enemies his men slow their fire, ready to take only those shots they know they'll hit or to take out anyone who seems to threaten Grant or Stockholm.

The Mercenary captain fires his rifle dry and lets it hang on it's sling, drawing his tomahawk in one hand and a pistol in the other. Diving towards the dealers he starts to hack and slash, moving with unnatural grace and strength as he does his work. -Almost done here. Drive them into the machine gun fire or just kill them.- Then he starts speaking Spanish again, -Fireteam 1 provide cover, Fireteam 2 secure the objectives. Overwatch keep it up. No survivors.-

Stockholm has posed:
Well Stockholm doesn't have to be told twice, she dives and rolls with almost supernatural grace from behind the SUV she was using for cover. Vanishing into the smoke now and then coming up to slice down a gang member who thought he had cover.

I mean shit, she is just suddenly in the middle of several of them, the scythe taking one of them, and her planting a knife into another one.

Is she singing. Yeah she is singing. Sounds like don't fear the reaper.

Aguila 6 has posed:
It soon turns into quite the bloody mess amidst the men who'd sought cover. Between Stockholm and Washington there's none of them left after a short time. Those few who try to get away die by gunfire. It's a gore spattered mess back there. As Washington rips the spike from his tomahawk out of the skull of a gang member he looks up at Stockholm for a moment and shakes his head a little bit.

The men of Fireteam 2 move in to grab the drugs and cash, their team leader popping rounds into the skulls of some of the downed men that are still appearing to move. Once all the bags are gathered up and their owners are deceased Washington says over the radio, -Looks like we got it all. Time for exfil. Nice work out there.-

Stockholm has posed:
~Don't take the masks off until clear of the smoke.. I mean.. if you do I will laugh..but you probably shouldn't.~

Stockholm will make her way out of the smoke and the bloody mess they are leaving behind moving towards the exfil point and vehicles. She is completely nonchalant.

~Have you met one of the bats yet, because woooah dog they are going to be super pissy about tonight.~

Aguila 6 has posed:
-Haven't seen any of the vigilantes in Gotham yet,- Washington says through his throat mic. -They all they're cracked up to be? Badass ninja types with high tech gear?-

The vehicles await the mercenaries, a quartet of SUVs, each with a driver waiting in them and blacked out windows. Rapid fire Spanish comes from the captain as his men get into their assigned trucks. Then it's back to English, -Because I've always wanted to fight some ninjas. My guess is you wouldn't mind that, either. You're hell on wheels in a close fight, by the way.-

Stockholm has posed:
Stockholm reaches up and folds the blade back into the shaft of the staff and hops into a random truck now. Yeah she plans to exfil with the company until she knows her money is cleared for the job.

~Several times, sometimes I win, sometimes I duck out, sometimes I end up back in Arkham. It is a dice throw really and depends on which of the little fuckers I end up with.. or the Big Man. Also yes they are all they are sold as on the bill of goods.~ pause ~Thanks, you are a work of art yourself Cap'~ she really is though, peak human with a knife is something else to watch.

Aguila 6 has posed:
-Noted. I'll try not to engage them if I can avoid it,- Washington says as the vehicles move down the road. He says something in Spanish over the radio and the guys with bags start checking their contents, each of them reporting numbers back to him. Nodding his head, the mercenary chuckles into his radio, -We'll make sure to use your services whenever we're in town. If you'd like we can set up a plan to bust you out if you end up in jail or Arkham again.-

Stockholm has posed:
~I mean you might be racing Ivy or some of the others who owe me favors on that front, but I like contingencies on contingencies so sure w should totes setup a plan and a payment schedule for those services.~ as nuts as she acts, Stockholm is definitely ready to do business.

~Also I like repeat customers, this town is messed up.~ pot kettle ~and I'm happy to help people navigate it.~

Aguila 6 has posed:
-Wonderful. We'll get you paid so you know we're reliable and then we'll sort out the details of any escape we'll be orchestrating,- Washington says over the radio. He's pretty businesslike. The counting is finished and the vehicles soon pull up to their destination. The guys with bags drop them in a dumpster and get back in their SUVs. -Alright, mission accomplished.- As the vehicles drive off the mercenary captain produces a cell phone and pushes a couple of buttons on it before opening it up, removing the SIM card and crushing it between his fingers before tossing it out the window. Moments later Stockholm's money is transferred to her account. -I hope we'll get more chances to operate in the States. There is a lot of money to be made here.-

Stockholm has posed:
"Buckets of it... jut a alot of capes and cowls. Always meddling. I swear who died and made them gods."

Julia has opinions about the superhero crowd, none very positive.

"Great." her phone pings and she looks at it then tucks it back away. "Drop me off on the corner over yonder and I'll be out of your hair. We can swap some planning the same way this job was arranged I imagine."

Aguila 6 has posed:
"I'd rather not tangle with them. I imagine killing a cape brings a lot of attention I don't want to have to deal with," Washington is clearly confident in the abilities of himself and his men. "And those we can't take down I'd rather just not bring into things in the first place." The vehicle pulls off to the curb to let Stockholm out. Grant says, "We'll contact you when it's safe. In the meantime take care of yourself. You're a professional so I'm not going to tell you to lay low, you know what to do."

Stockholm has posed:
"I mean even if you told me to lay low if certain people called I'd be doing the job." bright smile to Captain Grant Washington.

"As for avoiding the capes.. well ... you keep working in the States and you will find them very hard to avoid." she shoots salute off to them all and pivots and heads off vanishing into an alley now.
