Meanwhile In Transylvania
Date of Scene: 19 April 2019
Location: Brasov
Synopsis: Morrigan goes on a trip to find some answers. She ends up finding Dracula.
Cast of Characters: Morrigan MacIntyre, Dracula

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan had at least planned on going to Brasov. There was part of her that felt silly for doing it, but the other half of her felt...comfortable? in the place. She'd been in Brasov for a few days now and the woman had set off to go investigate the forest while it was still decent outside. Given it's past sunset there's a couple of odd looks given her way, but a few people also don't bother telling her she's nuts. Anyone that braves the darkest of places is probably well aware that they aren't all there.

Dracula has posed:
The sound of bats searching for a roost fills the immediate vicinity. The wind blows lightly. One of the bats flits over Morrigan's shoulder and then rejoins its' brood. A single crack in the earth appears in front of Morrigan. At that same moment there is a figure standing behind her. Whether this figure was responsible for any of this ambience is unknown. The figure says nothing, as if testing Morrigan's own senses. Hooded and cloaked he waits.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's violet gaze looks up when she hears bats and there's a bit of a chuckle, "Don't get spooked now." she murmurs to herself. The bat flitting over her shoulder gets a smile. Then she nearly jumps out of her skin when she sees the crack, the sudden appearance of a figure before her makes her stop dead in her tracks. "I didn't step on a grave I wasn't supposed to?" she asks. Apparently she did not sense Vampires. And she was barely one given her heart beat and other things.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula emits a low shriek at the grave question, "All this land is my grave. Why do you trespass? Your scent is foreign. Let me smell your blood or I will force you to leave."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's eyes close when she hears the shriek and there's a moment she debates running, but she doesn't. She straightens herself up, "You can smell my blood if you like. I was looking for answers. My 'father' is from these lands. And our one and only meeting ended in a lot of spilled blood." she frowns. She pats her coat pocket and then pulls out a small knife, "I'm not here to harm anyone." she adds before she cuts her palm open. Then her hand is held out, "Didn't know how you wanted to do this." she shrugs at that.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula takes in the scent of the blood. Even genetic markers can be sensed. The figure scowls, narrows his eyes, and indeed his tone becomes even more hostile, "Where is SHE?! Tell me where Mina is.. half blood! I will find her whelp. You do not even know the power that courses through your veins. You do not know your father. I am his god and that is all you need to know. I have met only two others of your.. kind before you: Mina and the one called Blade. Your creation is never a coincidence. Where. Is. Mina?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan's violet eyes brighten a bit, "I do not know a Mina." she tells him. "I was born like this." she states with a bit of a glower. Why was he yelling about some woman she didn't know! "Mina? Blade? No, never heard of either of those people. I'm just starting to figure out what all this is." she shakes her head to that. "I'm Doctor Morrigan MacIntyre. I'm from the United States. I've never known anyone named Mina." she tells him honestly.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula growls, "Ignorant.. your father was even more wreckless than you realize. If I knew who he is.. or was.. I would bring him before my throne in chains. If you do not know Mina then you do not need to know. You are a mistake, an accident, and your existence is wretched. If you do not know it yet, your suffering will be eternal. I will not offer you my blood if that is what you have come here looking for. You are clearly of no use to me. As for your father? As I said.. he either is or was. He may already be destroyed at the hands of some mortal zealot. If he is as careless as I assume then it is likely that you will never find him in the flesh. Coming here has only brought you face to face with either your ancient ancestor or your ancient relative. It is difficult to tell whether you are of my bloodline."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"His name is Lucian, not ominous at all. Have fun with the chains if you want to go that route." Morrigan tells him. Apparently there's no qualmas from the woman about him hurting dear old dad. "He's been leaving a trail of dead bodies all over New York, ones that looked like my mother. Right now I'm just trying to see what I can learn from him, I've not been right ever since we fought and he bit me. Things are slowly manifesting." she frowns. "And you're right, I might be a mistake, but I've got things to protect and a father to keep at bay until I kill him or someone else does. He's really causing bad press for the rest of you guys." she breathes out.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula laughs sardonically, "A quest of righteousness? Quite common among your kind. Kill him if you must, I truly have no intention of hunting him down. I did not entirely choose to be.. who I am. I can understand your plight to a degree. I am the sire of an entire bloodline of vampires. The founder. I could at once command them to act in unison toward a single goal. I am their god. My power transcends that of every vampire in existence now. I could perhaps even find your father if he is of my bloodline. It is far more difficult to influence those of.. other origins. Vampirism is a murky subject as you will no doubt learn one day. But your father's choices are not my problem. He will meet final death if he is truly so devoid of sense. The master vampire takes only what they need and no more. The master vampire has more than one source to tap what they need. It is the foolish and weak who indiscriminately slaughter. Such a path draws those who would see vampires wiped from the face of the planet." He waits for all of this to sink in.

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan watches him as the things start to sink in, "Alright. I'll see if he starts back up when I return home." she nods to that. She drops the talk of killing as she's not sure if it's infuriating or not. But she's listening to him as he speaks and there's a slight frown, "Well, we have that in common. The no choice." she admits. "So if my father is part of your bloodline, you would be my ancestor?" she asks him. "I mean, not that you want a screw up to be related to you." she chuckles. "I'm just trying to find out who else my be my family...or relations." she admits.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula laughs again, "Either way you would do well to learn from me. Your father clearly cares nothing for you. I have no reason to kill your or to care if you survive, however I am not inhospitable, call it a relic of my time as a noble man: Never take more than what you need, whatever it is that you need, and always have more than one source of it. I do not care if you need blood or something else, gluttony is death. Lack of self control is the doom of every creature. I cannot teach you anything more vital. Nothing else I know may even be within your capacity to learn, but even if I could teach you everything, I would teach you that before anything else. I am curious to see how well you fare now."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan looks at him, "Well, if you're going to be hospitable and not try to eat me I'd be happy to learn something. I like to learn." she admits. And apparently she was doing a good job of not following over from weak knees. Terror was not a good feeling. "Temperance in all things. Something my adopted parents taught me as well." she nods to this. "I don't feel a hunger for blood. I can smell it...depending on how long it's been spilled. That just started a few weeks ago." she states. "I'm not asking for everything, not my style." she admits. "And who knows, maybe I'll come back and be better at things. Not toddling around like I am now." she offers.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula considers what Morrigan has said, "Interesting. You do not crave blood and yet I smell the vampire in you as much as the mortal. It's almost as if you were meant to possess as many abilities as possible without succumbing to the nature of the monster you came from. I only say that because the other half bloods I mentioned very much desire blood. They deal with it on their own terms. Perhaps you are merely lucky. You are weaker than the other hybrids but you do not have many of their weaknesses. So are you truly weaker? A question to ponder to be certain. If you found your father what would you truly do? You have met me and I surpass him. I can teach you far more than he can if I wished. What use do you have of him now?"

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
"Sunlight makes me really sick, I created a serum for it when I was first in college. It lets me work in the daylight, but only for a period of time really." Morrigan admits. "I might be lucky I don't crave blood, but I'm also not a take a trip to the beach person. I mostly stay in and do my work and my research." she tells him. "I'm in no doubt weaker I'm guessing. That doesn't bug me really." she states. Then he asks the question of her father, "I'd ask him why he bit me and then why he keeps trying to kill me. If he would listen for five seconds instead of hurting people it would be a lovely thing. But he seems...unhinged sometimes." she explains. "I've never had a use for him. That's the whole thing. I don't think I'd miss him if he were gone." she muses.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula replies, "Your father was clearly a fool when he created you. Most vampric progeny become undead. Only a small percentage become as you are and it is never on purpose in my experience. There is simply no reason to sire a half breed. In fact your existence is a dire threat but it is not my place to decide your fate. It is your father's and clearly he is trying to kill you in order to correct his shortsighted whim. His failure is proof of his incompetence. Yet this is outside of my jurisdiction as it were. I will leave this saga to those already involved. If he kills you then he has fixed his mistake. If you kill him then you prove yourself his heir. Half breed or not such a feat is nothing to scoff at. By his very nature his potential exceeds yours. If you were to destroy him then you would prove yourself capable, even if in other ways. But even that brings dangers. Other vampires might see you as a threat. Consider your path carefully. You are no threat or boon to me. Your existence is inconsequential within my machinations. You cannot hope to disrupt nor aid them. As such you have a degree of free will that few others of your kind have, undead or otherwise. You are too weak to threaten me but powerful enought to transcend the mortals around you. Remember that.. I cannot speak more plainly. I am truly curious to see how you will use this knowledge. Explore your abilities and attempt to transcend what you believe are your limitations. If your potential is beyond what I believe it is now, then perhaps we will meet again. I may have further lessons for you."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a look to him, "We'll see how things I guess." she states. There was a lot for her to process. Mainly it was the fact that Dracula was scary as fuck at the moment. "Thank you...for the talk." she tells him. "And for not just killing me on the spot." she adds. "If my potential is beyond just being a weakling then hopefully I won't turn into a bigger threat to anyone." she sighs. "For now, I will take my leave and let you get back to an undisturbed evening." she dips her head to him.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula laughs, "I actually hope that you DO become a threat to someone else. If I may be frank, I am disappointed with my descendents. They lack subtlty, they give in to their urges without thought of their own survival, and they end up prey to ancient orders of vampire slayers. It is why I am reluctant to create more of my kind. I have not done so for a very long time. The undead are poor learners, they operate from a very instinctive level of consciousness. I was of superior mind to them when I was turned. That and I cannot ever truly die. So my learning curve has been... different. Yet this is no excuse as anyone I sire will have great potential compared to the average vampire sired by some four decades old commoner." He leans in closely, "What I can do is beyond your comprehension but what you can potentially do is also beyond the comprehension of those around you. I do not know what you can truly do. Hybrids are the wild card of nature. It depends on how much you inherited from your father or your mother. Only you can figure it out. My lessons may seem as if they are only sermons, but these concepts unlock your potential. The ART of Vampirism is not demonstrated, it is described, and only in certain ways. I could demonstrate a great many things and you would not even know where to begin to replicate my parlor tricks. It is only through philosophy and then self discovery that you will unlock your hidden potential. It cannot be any other way, even for the undead. This is a curse for a reason.. there are no shortcuts."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan gives a bit of a wide eyed look when Dracula leans in closer, but she manages to not fall on her ass. "Well, potential doen't blossom over night in most things. It didn't in college for a lot of people." she admits. "So we'll see how things go and if I'm still alive in a few weeks or months." she smiles to him. Then she's sobering as she listens to his words, "Seld discovery might be a good thing for me at this point. To see if I can puzzle more out." she admits. Then she gives a dip of her head, "Thank you for sharing a bit of wisdom. I'll see how it goes back in New York." she tells him as she starts to withdraw, heading backwards instead of forwards. She didn't need to go further into the forest and that crack was asking for her to break an ankle.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula calls after her, "Blood.. you must drink it. The very idea of such an act no doubt sounds foreign to you now, indeed repulsive. You may think to yourself that you would never consume human blood. But what you may indeed be thinking is that you would never attack an innocent. But human blood is not difficult to obtain in this modern era. Blood can be obtained by the bag, via the hospital system, and there are those who would give you their blood willingly. You may not hunger for blood, but it is blood that fuels your power. Keep in mind that if you do not consume human blood, you may not reach your potential. Also keep in mind that you do not have to kill or hurt anyone to obtain human blood. Your lack of hunger simply means that you will not crave the substance. What you may crave in the future is the power that blood brings. This brings us back to my initial teachings: Take no more than what you need and keep more than one source of what you need. If you choose this path then you are embracing your father's heritage over your mother's in any case. Only you can decide whether you will do this. The implications are unknown to me. I only know how you will increase your potential. The morality of any action is relative to the one making the decision whether to act."

Morrigan MacIntyre has posed:
Morrigan shudders at the thought of drinking blood, "I'm a Hemotologist and a Pathologist, Count." she tells him. "I can get blood. I just have no desire to drink it." she admits. But he had a point, it might be blood that fueled things. "Maybe down the road." she adds. Then there's a look to her watch and a sigh, "I'm sure we'll figure it out over time." she mutters. Then she's hiking back to where she came from for the moment. Not wanting to get spooked by something else.

Dracula has posed:
Dracula replies briefly, "It is your choice. But remember.. it is the blood that empowers you. It is always there. Your occupation ensures that it is always in reach and you will no doubt remember that every time you see blood from now on. But you have a level of control that is unheard of. Drink and you will not regret it. You do not have to use your power for selfish ambition. The applications are limitless." Dracula is no longer there. Morrigan would see Dracula vanish and then a cloud of mist dissipate. This small demonstration of power may or may not inspire Morrigan. Regardless Dracula's lessons are over for now.
