Date of Scene: 23 April 2019
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Rogue accompanies Blink on a teleport to one of Blink's dream destinations: Easter Island
Cast of Characters: Blink, Rogue

Blink has posed:
Blink hurrie down the hallway, carrying a tablet and a bunch of books and maps. She has an excited look on her face, rushing off to... wait, where is she going. Clarice pauses in the hallway, realizing it's late and few people are up and she really would love to have someone else with her.

Clarice continues forward more slowly, glancing at each of the rooms. She's still learning who lives where, apart from those that are labeled with names. A bit of light can be seen beneath the door of one of the rooms. Blink is pretty sure that is Rogue's room, the really nice girl who loved going to the beach. She'd be perfect!

Hoping that Rogue isn't sleeping with the light on, Blink knocks softly on the door, hoping to catch her up.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue is up and in her room, she's actually rearranging her closet so when Blink knocks on the door the door partially opens up a bit as it wasn't entirely latched. Inside, Rogue is in a tshirt and some shorts, she's got a bunch of clothes out across her bed and the other furniture items within her bedroom. She looks up and waves Clarice in. "Hey!" He says to the girl with the portaling powers. "Where the heck've you been?" She asks her, holding onto a rack of sweat shirts and hoodies. "I thought you like, went back to Lorna Land without sayin' Goodbye or whatever." She struts on by and into the walk in closet, where she had to do some repair work on the carpet recently, so it seems, as she ripped the old carpet up and rolled it toward the side of the floor.

Blink has posed:
Blink smiles over to Rogue and shakes her head about being gone. But she's too excited to address the question otherwise as she says in a rush of words, "There's somewhere I've wanted to go for awhile but I had troubles reaching it. I think the pictures were so old that must have been part of it. Anyway! I found some new books and I've been studying their pictures, and maps and things... and I think I can finally go!"

That all came out in one big stream. "And I thought... I'd like to have someone to go with me. So I thought maybe you might like to go?" Blink asks.

She digs out a book from her stack and offers it to Rogue to reveal the destination. Easter Island.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue peaks back out of the closet after hearing this from Blink and she, well, blinks at her. "Really?" She asks then, now stepping out of there and back into her main room. She moves over to those two leather chairs in front of the fireplace and starts to clean them off. "Here, take a seat." She says to Clarice.

Once the seats are cleared up she lowers herself down onto the edge of one and places her hands together between her thighs, looking to the items Clarice brought her. "You're like, explorin' places now?" She asks. "Like some kinda adventurer?" She cracks a sly grin for the other then and there. "I can dig that, thats what I used t'wanna do with my life, actually. Like them Mummy movies, or somethin'."

Blink has posed:
Blink moves over to sit in the chair, setting down the small stack of books nearby as she does. "Oh, yes, actually I've been doing this for a little over a year now. Though I have more duties now so I don't have as much time. Been all sorts of places. Top of the Giza pyramid. Mount Everest. Grand Canyon. Haven't been to the Great Wall yet but that's on the list. A lot of cities. Rome, Paris, London, Tokyo, Johannesburg, Sydney," she says with a smile.

Blink looks over to the book she gave Rogue. "I've always wanted to go to Easter Island. But it being kind of tiny, WAY out in the middle of the Pacific, and then like I said I think the pictures I tried using to help me zero in on it were old ones was probably my biggest problem. Anyway, I've opened a portal up in the air above it. Would you be interested in going and checking out with me?" Blink asks with a smile. "I've not really had anyone to share these kind of trips with and... well, you were so much fun going to the beach and all," she says, smiling softly at Rogue.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue listens to her explain where all she's been and it makes her eyebrows raise up over her green eyed gaze. "Geeze." She softly says, clearly impressed by this travel log. "I've only been t'Paris the one time, and... well... I nearly committed suicide while there." She releases a bit of a dark humored laugh at herself then and there.

"Easter Island?" Rogue asks, tilting her head--causing her white locks to dangle a little more freely in that direction. "Is that the place with the giant... head block, statue things?" She asks then. "I watched a thing about them once, they think they got them inta place by rollin' them around on logs. It was pretty sweet..." She flashes a grin then. "What they needed was me though, I coulda just lifted'em like they were cardboard." She raises her arms and flexes... not much there visibly, in the way of muscles. But its deceptive! "I'd be happy t'tag along with ya, if ya don't get us lost or out inta space."

Blink has posed:
Blink gives a warm smile and says, "It's really easy, once I've been somewhere. I mean, you saw, just like Genosha. It's just like opening a door and stepping through. If you want to go visit any of those, or somewhere else, just ask. I'd be happy to take you," Clarice says, that huge smile showing pearly white teeth.

"Yes!" Clarice confirms of the big statues. "There are a bunch of them and some are just huge. I bet you probably could lift them, saw how easily you lifted that plane, even with it full of water inside at first," Clarice agrees. "Though I think they'd be upset if we moved any of them," she adds with a warm chuckle.

Clarice stands up and moves over to a clear spot in the room. "I think I just need one up in the air to see through. Make sure where the one on the ground comes out, there isn't anyone standing," she says.

A little magenta blur shoots out of her hand and a portal opens. Up in the air above an island, with no other land in sight. Then a second motion to open a second portal. This time one can step through it right onto the ground. And she picked a spot with some of those big statues right there!

Rogue has posed:
Rogue laughs lightly and moves to stand up. "I ain't gonna move their giant heads, least not the ones on the shores." She is encourageable! Its true. When she sees Blink aiming to do this trip right now, Rogue jumps up to her feet. "Lemme put on some other clothes right quick!" She's up and onto her bare feet then running around the chairs to the closet doorway before the restroom. There's a rustling of garments inside, some of them flying out into the main room and Rogue starts to change attire, slipping on some jeans and a better shirt for this, she's now gliding out of her closet without using her feet at all, because she's busy pulling some leather boots on up over her jeans, mid-calf high boots with heeled backs.

"Okay!" She declares as she settles down onto the floor beside Blink and watches the portals get opened. She looks at the one on the island and then to Clarice.

"Are there natives, or like a town? Place looked barren t'me when I saw it in video format."

Blink has posed:
"There's some settlements, even with hotels and spas and things to cater to the tourist trade. There's only like, 5000 people who live there," Blink explains while Rogue is changing clothes. "But there's 1000 moi... that's the name for the statues. There's like 1 for every 5 people!" she says, the excitement bubbling over in the Asian mutant.

"This has been somewhere I've wanted to go for so long," she says, rubbing her hands together excitedly as Rogue finishes up. "Ok, ready?"

Without waiting for an answer, Clarice steps through the portal, which is as simple as walking through a doorway. It's quite far to the west so it is still evening there, plenty of daylight, and nice and warm. The green grass covers most of the visible island, and there several stands of statues visible. "I read they think the statues represent their ancestors, possibly, and they seem to be placed near drinkable water," Clarice says as she jogs over to look at the nearest giant stone face.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue lightly nods to what she says about the population and tourism of the island, not much to say to that though so she just flashes a grin when she's asked if she's ready and she nods her head. "Oh, wait." She darts over to grab her phone then off of the table by her chair and then slips it into her jeans front right pocket. With Blink walking to the Portal, Rogue is quick to catch up with her in a few large strides on her heeled boots. She's through just after Clarice and once on the other side she's raising her gloved hands up to stroke her stark white hair back out of her face while her green eyes roam around the landscape...

"Far out." Rogue says in a gaspy and and star struck kinda voice. She then moves to jog after Clarice. "They're near drinkable water, really?" She asks her as she catches up. "I don't know... I think aliens are responsible for this." She says with a sly grin.

Blink has posed:
Blink lets out a warm laugh. Just absolutely delighted to finally be visiting here. She was much the same her first time atop the Pyramids. "Oh that's just so... huge. How could they have moved it without someone like you, or modern machines?" Blink says as they stand before one of the large stone heads. "I mean, imagine just what it would take for a normal person to carve something like that!" the Genoshan mutant says.

She lets the portal back to Rogue's room close, comfortable enough about teleporting back to the school after her time there. "That's what this study found. It was the thing in common they found for most of the statues," she says.

Blink walks over to touch the giant stone head, feeling how the rock is warmed by a day in the sunlight. "Can you imagine being some European explorer and spotting an island in the middle of the ocean? And then finding all of these heads on it?"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue is walking around the statue that Blink is now touching, she's listening closely to her and inspecting them with her own eyes... all while grinning. There's no trees or such around here, so the wind is pretty intense and its making her white and dark brown hair flow quite wildly about her head toward the direction its flowing, eastward.

"People were capable'a lot more stuff back before televisions and the gawd damned internet were invented. Then cell phones'n such just made it way worse. Now people are just lazy and do the bare minimum'a work."

After her full circle around the stone head she ends up back on Clarice's right side and laughs lightly at her and the explorer's talk. "Old people? They probably blamed witches and started shootin' guns at these things. Then ran at'em with swords out once they got here, Don Quixote style."

Blink has posed:
Blink lets out a soft laugh at the image of a bunch of old sailors fighting the stone heads with swords. "I think the moi won, if so," she says with a grin. "It's a lot of work, moving something big without machinery. We got put to labor like that, in Genosha. Until we were old enough to be turned into mutates," she says, biting her lip at some memories.

But those memories aren't enough to keep her mood down. Not while she's standing on Easter Island, finally. "And not all of them have these platforms, but a bunch of them have these long rectangular pedastals to stand on, so they are like a big row of them," Clarice says.

She laughs and then opens a portal up to the top of the statue. She steps through out onto the top of its head, moving over to stand above the forehead. "Oh, I can see a bunch of them from up here!" she says. The island is fairly flat. There is a road crossing it, and some signs of buildings off in one direction.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue doesn't need a portal to get up top, nope, she just looks around to make sure that she and Clarice are alone and then she LEAPS up to join her ontop of the statue, landing on its dome with little effort even shown to accomplish it. She too starts to spin around now to look around the horizon. "Have any of'em ever fallen down before?" She asks her 'tour guide' on this expedition.

Then she's looking over a Clarice and grinning at her. "Ya know..." She glances to the portal then back to its creator. "You might be missin' out on part'a the adventure by usin' those things t'get t'all these places. Ever thought of it that way? When I watch the Travel channel? They got that hot guy on there, Josh Gates? He says the adventure is in the trip, not necessarily the destination." Her hands go to her hips then and she turns and jumps up into the air, hovering now, a few feet away. "Somethin' t'think about, any how."

Blink has posed:
Blink gives a laugh of delight as she watches how Rogue pops to the top of the statue. "I so wish I could fly. Though I won't complain about my own mutation. Not... very often anyway," she says.

Blink nods at the question about them falling down. "Yes, some of the pictures have some practically on their backs or faces. I guess they leave them how they are, the people don't stand them back upright probably?"

The comment about traveling gives Blink pause. "Well. Maybe. I don't just pop to the awesome view all the time though. I mean, I'll visit a city and then go wander around the streets. Eat in the cafes and talk to people. Yes I'll zip up top of the Eiffel Tower after it's closed, but I spent a lot of time wandering Paris too. But I don't have to sit in an airplane. Or waste the time. That part I think I'm happy to do without," she says.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue has to grin at her response to the traveling part. "Oh come on." She says. "Don't act like ya don't wanna sit on a train goin' through some foreign country someday, meet the locals aboard it or other tourists travelin' like yourself? Thats what sounds fun t'me. Imagine meetin' some hot guy with a sexy foreign accent who's all inta ya and ya only got a few hours t'spend together... Thast the greatest kinda romance ya can find, really. Arguably, any how."

She drifts back over to where Clarice is then and presses just one booted foot down atop the statue's head. "Ya think we can find one'a the tipped over ones? I'm... I'll admit I kinda wanna lift one back up. I know, I know! Leave things as they are, but damnit, they're supposed t'be standin' up! Its what the islanders who built'em wanted!"

Blink has posed:
Blink moves to sit on the edge of the stone head, letting her feet dangle out in the air as they talk. "That does sound like a lot of fun. And that's something I might do. Take a train to see the countryside. I just wouldn't catch an airline flight to the train," she says.

Clarice leans back on her hands and says, "So have you had many romances like that? I'm sure you have. You're very beautiful and you have that warm flirty way about you that the guys just die for. Like the ones at the skate park," she says, smiling softly at the memory. "I haven't really had a lot of those... um, experiences. But maybe it's because I haven't taken enough trains?" she asks, teasing just a bit at the end.

Blink pops up. "Now that we're here I should be able to get us around. There's a pair of fallen ones over that way. Unless you want to walk? Or fly us both?"

Rogue has posed:
Rogue sweeps in to sit down behind/beside Clarice, basically with her right shoulder near the girl's back, and her eyes looking out in the direction off to Blink's left. She laughs lightly as she too is now swinging her feet lightly. "Nah, not really." She says to the romance question. "Most guys I gotta be upfront with about my mutation and that pretty much turns them off immediately. Once they realize they can't get their hands all over me? They peace out pretty fast. Like Looney Toons, leavin' clouds shaped like them in their wakes."

Rogue glances down at herself, wipes at her shirt a little to get some lint off of it from the laundry and looks back up at their amazing scenery. "Had a short thing with a guy from Kansas City when I was on my own, but I was too crazy... and he was too... burnt out for me t'stick around'im. Once I got here? Or, well... I mean once I got to Westchester." She grins. "I met Remy then... But he's different now. Seems lost inside his own head these days. I think he's got a lot goin' on and I'm just givin' him space. Everyone else? Just simple flirtations or awkward one night stands."

Blink has posed:
Blink looks over to Rogue, eyes turning sympathetic as she mentions the difficult that her mutation causes her. "That's rough. I mean, you're great to hang out with from everything I have seen. I'd think there'd be some guys who would realize that," Clarice says encouragingly.

She glances back out at the scenery as Rogue mentions her relationships at the school. "I don't know him really. He's the one that has a room at the boathouse too, right?" Clarice asks. She leans back on her hands as she looks across the flat island, surrounded by the deep blue of the Pacific. The sun is starting to set off to the west, turning the sky an array of oranges and reds. "I got my first kiss not too long ago. And my second awhile after that. I don't see either of them around anymore though, so... you know," Clarice says, shrugging her shoulders. "I guess I need to go ride the train then, right?" she says, putting a little light-hearted tone to her words.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue leans forward then and looks to her right, so she can peer at Clarice's left side. "Really? Your first and second kiss? At Xavier's?" She asks then, seeming surprised by this as Blink had been about her situation and the results of it. "Huh. I mean, I heard the school is called like Xavier's School for Gettin Your Groove On, but I hadn't realized people would throw themselves at ya, then bail on ya quite like that." She frowns, just assuming that Blink meant it happend there since she's been with them for a little bit now.

"Need me t'beat some folks up? Pound some skulls." She flashes a grin at her. "I'll do that for ya, Missy. Just you point me where."

The 'ride the train' part makes Rogue laugh then and she has to look away. "Oh... I got a dirty dirty mind."

Blink has posed:
Blink looks down at her hands as she picks out an imaginary bit of dirt from beneath a nail. "Well, not so much like they ignored me as... they don't seem to be around the school anymore. At least I can never catch them," Clarice says with a small wistful sigh and a shrug.

She looks over to Rogue and smiles to her gratefully. "No one that needs roughing up, but... I'll keep it in mind," she says. Clarice looks back down at her hands and smiles. "First time was up on the pyramid, right as the sun rose over the desert. Was about as beautiful of a setting as you could ask for," she says warmly.

Clarice hears Rogue's laugh and looks over. She breaks out in warm laughter too as she catches on to what Rogue's dirty mind was thinking. She also blushes just a bit, some of Clarice's evident shyness about such things coming out. "Ok, maybe I should find another wording for that," she agrees with a warm chuckle.

Rogue has posed:
Rogue has to laugh a little more at Clarice's reaction to her dirty mind comment. She has to then go on to nod her head to her and glance back over at her with a big smile. "Probably a wise idea, Lady." She teases before she leans forward on her hands on the edge of the statue and looks down to the ground all the way down there.

"Ain't there a Pizza Hut like right beside those pyramids now?" She asks as she looks back over to Blink then. "I seen a thing on Twitter, like an interior shot of a Pizza Hut window and beyond it was the pyrmids, and a bunch of trash all over the ground. Its one'a those pictures that shows ya how mankind is sorta destroyin' all the natural wonder of our own world, ya know, with commercialism and waste'n what not."

She shakes her head then. "I don't know, maybe it was just a photoshop kinda thing." She grins lightly at her. "Ya got me beat at romantic kisses though, Missy. I ain't got nothin' like that. I can't even kiss nobody no more unless I'm plugged inta the wall." Referencing her mostly broken nullifier bracelet that Hank made her for her failed wedding, she doesn't remember if she told Blink about that or not so that entire reference might fly over Clarice's head...

Blink has posed:
"That I don't know," Blink says of the possible PIzza Hut location. "I tried to stay away from other people while I was there. I wasn't quite sure how the local government views mutants," Clarice admits. "Though, that does kind of take some of the romance out of it, doesn't it?" Well, not really. It was still an awesome kiss there.

"Plugged into the wall?" Clarice asks, definitely not getting the reference. "Does your power work on electricity somehow?" Which wouldn't be craziest mutant power if it did. Clarice turns back to look around the island. "It's so beautiful here. I'm glad I finally made it. Glad you were free to come with me, too," Blink says. "It's so much nicer having someone to come see stuff like this with."

Rogue has posed:
Rogue grins lightly at Clarice's words. "Maybe ya'll had your backs to the Hut behind ya." She says with a little shoulder bump to the other girl. "Nah, it sounds pretty amazing. I'm totally jealous." Little does she know who it was with though!

With a heavy inhale though, Rogue has to let out a light little laugh. "Nah, nah, nothin' like that. When I was gettin' married, t'Remy..." She glances back over at her to stare while she talks of it all. "Hank McCoy, resident smart beastly fella in the school, he and his girlfriend at the time had this bright idea'a makin' me a bracelet that could nullify my powers. Her mutation was nulification?" Rogue nods once. "So I guess Hank did tests on her till he could replicate it inta a small enough tech object, so he gave me this little... like white bracelet. I called it the 'iTouch' for awhile." She grins at her own dumb pun there.

"Any way, it was only able t'hold a charge for four hours, then had to be charged for like eighteen before it said it had a full charge. But eventually, it stopped holdin' a charge at all. It still works though, if I wear it while its plugged in, but well... ya know. Thats kinda weird, yeah?" She's grinning again then as she looks out to the horizon. "Tell a guy... 'Sure baby, lets make out. But first, plug me inta the wall, would ya?'"

Rogue laughs at her own misfortune, then shrugs her shoulders. "Come on." She offers a gloved hand to Blink. "Lets go explore some'a the rest'a this place." And if taken, she'd glide down to the ground with the Portalarium girl.
