The Language of Flowers
Date of Scene: 01 June 2017
Location: Unknown
Synopsis: Summary needed
Cast of Characters: X-23, Sibilance

X-23 has posed:
Dressed somewhat like a cosplayer doing somekind of a movie spy with a black catsuit and utility belt, Laura is doing some strange dance-like movement in the middle of the green, albeit those with some decent martial arts knowledge might recognize she's performing a kata. One must keep practicing to retain perfection, after all.

Sibilance has posed:
Dressed in a black outfit of her own, though one perhaps more ordinary if not for the scales it's meant to hide, Sibilance approaches where Laura is currently going through her routine. The snake woman pauses to observe, noting a certain mental climate of concentration from the girl. The snake woman chose an ideal lull in that concentration to approach and produce, from a basket she's got on one arm, a cattail. A flower ordinarily found in wetlands.
"It means peace," she murmurs in her Mexican accented English.

X-23 has posed:
Laura knows Sibilance is there before she approaches her, it's hard to sneak up on Laura when attempting the feat, she's certainly bound to notice when no such attempt is made. She stops her routine when approached, and stares at Sibilance. One might think it's due to Sibilance's obvious mutation, but Laura at least doesn't seem to freak out. She shifts her focus to the flower when Sibilance explains what it means, and just notes, "okay." She has no reason to refute the information Sibilance provided, not having researched it.

Sibilance has posed:
"It's yours."
Sibil patiently holds the flower out, smiling and nervously hoping that it isn't taken poorly. Just a creative gesture of good will from one to another.

X-23 has posed:
"It isn't." Laura seems confused, why would the snake girl make such an obvious erroneous statement. The flower was never in Laura's possession, why would she claim ownership over it. She looks at Sibil with suspicion. She doesn't quite seem to get the good will at hand.

Sibilance has posed:
Sibil makes a soft, puffing sigh, her forked tongue flicking out just the once. She closes her eyes and lowers her hand for a second... then she retries this. "It's a gift. It's yours because I'm giving it to you. I'm trying to say 'hello,' in a creative way." She sounds kind of defeated, because she knows that she isn't going to get around this even if she can read minds. It's clear something isn't quite right with Laura, she doesn't think the same as most people do.
"Wishing you a peaceful life," she adds, gesturing by wiggling the cattail flower a little bit.

X-23 has posed:
Laura shifts her gaze from the flower, once more staring at Sibil as if trying to decipher her. "Why give me a gift? You don't know me." Laura maintains her analytical view of the precedings, shaking her head at the well wishing in the end, "my life is already not peaceful, a flower will not fix it." She looks as though she's about to go right back into her routine, before something makes her reconsider, and she looks Sibil over, "are you very lonely?"

Sibilance has posed:
Sibil actually frowns at that, the coldly pragmatic responses she's getting making her hand tighten on the stem of the flower. She places it back in the basket and lowers her gaze, staring at the flowers for several hard seconds. She almost misses the question, and looks up at Laura. "All the time," she tells Laura, her voice very soft, "Even around other people."

X-23 has posed:
Laura nods at Sibil's honest reply, "a flower will never fix that." Perhaps it may sound rude, but as far as Laura is concerned, she's telling the truth rather than lying to the girl. "I am alone all the time, I don't care. You need to be able to live with yourself. Other people are not necessary. They only die."

Sibilance has posed:
"We aren't built to be alone. I bet you know that better than I do."

Sibil states that in a most confident way, as she takes the cat tail out. "Pretending that people aren't worth the trouble because life is finite is like saying eating food isn't worth it because it only lasts a few bites. It's pragmatic nonsense. I'm not convinced." She holds the cat tail out again, this time pointedly.

"The flower doesn't fix it. You're right. You fix it, by my giving the flower to you."

X-23 has posed:
Laura finds Sibil's argument alien, after all, alone is the most familiar state of being for her. Often left in a cell by her lonesome until she was needed. "I am performing efficently on my own," Laura mutters her counter argument to the first statement, before shruging at the next one, "I don't pretend. They are all dead. Food sustains, extends performance over time."

She still looks very skeptical at the final suggestion, and as if to test a theory, she reaches for the flower. "Give it then. I will take it."

Sibilance has posed:
Sibil doesn't give it. Instead she pulls her hand back and she stuffs the cat tail in the basket. And then she frowns for a second and watches Laura's reaction. Sibil's fishing for a certain emotional response.

X-23 has posed:
When Sibil doesn't give the flower, and instead puts it back in her basket, Laura withdraws her hand. "So you realized I was correct. Good for you."

Sibilance has posed:
Sibil puffs another hissing sigh complete with a rattle of her tail, and turns to leave and find someone less obtuse to talk to for the time being, since the point was entirely missed.

X-23 has posed:
Laura seems entirely unfazed by Sibil being annoyed with her, and as the snake girl withdraws, she goes right back to her kata.
