Synopsis: A spider and a snake waiting for a bus
Cast of Characters: Sibilance, Spider-Man

Sibilance has posed:
Sibil doesn't get out a lot. Since the days have been warming as spring has been rolling in, she has had more chances to get out and explore Manhatten, to enjoy the sights. She's wearing a hoodie over her usual outfit, though, and a pair of black combat boots. She can't hide her tail, but the hoodie has a big ole SHIELD logo on it, like it's part of her everyday exercise attire. It's not like she could ever be a superspy among them.

She pauses to stare up at the highrises for a moment. "Way different than Gotham," she murmurs aloud. Then she finds a bench to sit at on the sidewalk so she can rest her feet for a minute, draping her snake-like tail over her lap.

Spider-Man has posed:
It's a lovely morning for a swing through Manhattan and who is Peter to deny it? The wind rushing across his mask as he practically flies upon a silvery webline anchored to the side of one of the very Highrise buildings upon which Sibil is gazing, the webslinger releases it and extends his shoulders back, knees bent, in an upward spring from the line that crests him above the roof of one building into the sunlight peeking in the horizon. The firey light washes away the torturous memories of the earlier evening and he's left with only the ultimate freedom that he is Spider-Man.

It's a hell of a sensation.

But it ends as quickly as gravity takes hold and brings him tumbling in a controlled series of backflips towars the pavement far below. At the last possible second to stop such a fall, another line schtks from his wrist and he tumbles out of it across his shoulder.

Spider-Man, red and BLUE costume, stands up near to where Sibil is sitting wearing a backpack and a big set of earphones. It could easily be a cosplayer if he hadn't just landed a fall from waaaaay up there. He up nods, "Morning. Number seven bus?" Pointing at the stop questioningly, barely batting an eye at her tail.

Sibilance has posed:
Sibil is startled. She is also a snake. The result is predictable. Her tail lashes and makes a sound like a thunderstick, her cheeks puff up and she HISSES at Spider-Man. It's all bluster, of course. But then she realizes who it is, and that they had said something to her. She pulls her hood down, and peers up at him, the diminutive snake woman staring at the mask like she was looking at some kinda red alien. "I can run faster than the bus can get to where I want to go," she admits, her very clearly Mexi-Spanish accent shining through when she speaks.

She squints at Spider-Man. Is he real? She scans his surface thoughts to try and confirm this, but this isn't easy to do with so much background noise. "Are you...?" She wasn't paying attention to when he fell down next to her. She must be new to Manhatten.

Spider-Man has posed:
He's thinking about a rather unpleasant engagement with something that very much looks like a car sized ball of snot. He's only recently been changed out of the gooey clothes. There is also webslinging and the thought of how good that makes him feel understandably.

"Simmer down, Set, we're all good here." Spider-man brings up his costumed hands from where they had been holding onto the straps of his backpack. There is definitely music playing in his headphones. It is very quiet though. Once more he motions at the bus stop, "Yeah, that's okay, I'm just curious if the number seven has already run."

It's altogether possible that he could get wherever he was going a great deal faster if he were to swing there. Actually, it's absolutely true. "Sometimes it's okay to stop and sit with people. Ya know, just be part of the background? It's New York... we're hard to surprise here." Seriously, super hard to surprise.

One arm extends out to Sibil, "Pinch test? I'm very real. Spider-man." The hand is out like he's offering to shake, not be pinched. "Friendly Neighborhood version."

Sibilance has posed:
It's tempting to accept his hand, to see more about Spider-Man, his exploits, his fears, maybe find clues on how to help him in the future. But she doesn't know him. She stares at his hand as if it were covered in the goo she spotted from his memory, and her tongue flicks out just the once on reflex, showing the snake-like fork. Flick.

"Call me Sibilance," she answers, "I'm sorry, I don't do... touching." She points at his hand. She scoots aside, though, and pats the spot next to her so that he can sit down, if he likes. "Do you usually ride the bus?" she wonders. "I thought you got everywhere with your webbing." She looks up, and points up, at all the buildings around them.

Spider-Man has posed:
"No touching for Sibilance." Spidey jerks his hand up and retakes the strap of his backpack, thumb running just beneath along the inside seam. "Huh, full on with that snake theme. Nice." He's cavalier about it, truly. Even settles on the bench beside her after removing his backpack and setting his headphones down around his neck.

One leg comes up and crosses the other, leaning on his elbows back out to eitherside of his shoulders. "Eh, sometimes. I like people." Motioning with a finger, the one furthest from Sibil. "Sometimes get to chit chat with folks, especially if I'm not in a hurry. Like today, really early for work... long night. You know how it goes."

Sibilance has posed:
Sibil has a wide-eyed look, a shy fan if he has ever seen one. Her feet actually hang in the air some when she sits back in the bench, because of how short she is. Not even five feet tall. "I don't," she answers Spidey, with an apologetic smile, showing that she can still make facial expressions despite her snake-like face. "I will, though, eventually." She pulls her own legs up, sitting criss-cross on the bench. It makes her look even smaller. She looks away from Spidey, a second, thinking on something that was said between them.

"I don't ride the bus because... close contact isn't good for me. When I touch people, I can see inside their heads. Their memories. Sometimes it's the really bad ones. Sometimes, it presses a button in them, like I had brushed up against it, and they experience it all over again. So... no busses or subways for me. I take a taxi, or I walk, or I carpool." She smiles at Spidey. "I guess I owed you an explanation, you were just being nice. I just don't want to hurt you on accident."

Spider-Man has posed:
"I'm just a dude in a mask." Spidey assures Sibil, hands out as if it aint nothing. "Sometimes I forget that people even know who I am... which isn't a humble brag, I swear. It's absolutely true. Some guy took a picture of me earlier and that stuff still surprises me." He leans towards his arm laid close to, but not THAT close to, Sibil. His hand comes up and one finger props against his temple. Emotive mask eyes watch her a second.

"I usually don't tell people what to do with their abilities or even suggest that they cover them up." He's very expressive with his hands and body, turning and motioning with his palm pointed out, and fingers spread. "But maybe some gloves? Thick ones.. should be able to ride the bus if you want. It's every New Yorkers right to be surrounded by people with bad body oder and halatosis."

Sibilance has posed:
"Not just my hands. Anywhere on me. It's physical contact, so... if I so much as bump into someone for a second, it could happen." Sibil shrugs, looking pained that she has to explain the difficulties with her abilities. Like she's tried plenty of potential solutions. "Am I a New Yorker now?" she wonders aloud, "I guess I live here..." She hadn't thought about it until that very second. "Maybe I should eat some pizza." She smiles mirthfully. "Got any recommendations?"

Her tone is clear that she's trying to deflect from the powers topic. She seems like she's discussed it before.

Spider-Man has posed:
"If you live in New York, you're a New Yorker." Spidey clears the air, officially welcoming Sibil into the inner circle of NYC. "I'm fresh out of the decoder rings and it's dangerous for us to do the secret hand shake, so..." It's hard to tell if he's smiling, but there's playful friendliness apparent in his tone. "You know, you shouldn't be upset about it. I guess it's easy for me to say, but..."

He scoots a little forward and straightens with his hands on his thighs. So natural, so unphased by someone walking by staring. "Hey." Waving to said person, he then looks back to Sibil. "Pizza? Eh.. I'm more a subs guy. Angelos over in Queens is easily my favorite. Never frozen meat and they cook their bread right on site... fresh cut vegis." He kisses his fingertips and vaolas them out like a blossum. "You'll thank me."

Sibilance has posed:
Sibilance has warmed up considerably thanks to this little chat. Spidey has a way of casual friendliness, a jokey air that just makes her feel like everything is okay. She isn't sure what to make of him, yet, but he lives up to his title pretty well. Enough that she's smiling now, instead of brooding like she would've been doing otherwise.

"I'll check it out. Angelos... I'll tell 'em Spider-Man sent me--" She stops, when she notices a bus pulling up. It's the number seven. "Oh! It's your bus! It's been nice talking to you, Spider-Man." She waves at him, eyes lidded by the mirth in her face.

Spider-Man has posed:
Spidey bounces up to his feet and grabs his backpack from beneath in one smooth twist. The pack is thrown over his arms just as easily, practice ease, smooth as silk and though he still has on a mask it is very likely that he's smiling as well. "You too, Sibilance, it was really nice to meet you!"

Rather than climb the steps onto the bus, Spidey lays one hand, a foot, and a knee against the side and clings right to the surface. "The number twenty is always a little lighter on people. At least for three blocks." He says to her as the driver waits the alotted time to allow passangers to board. "Enough people that you can feel like you're in New York, but not so many that they'll surround you."

As the bus pulls away, Spidey climbs up on the roof, snap pointing at Sibil, "Give it a try! You'll love it!"
