Date of Scene: 20 May 2019
Location: Wanda's Room - Avengers Mansion
Synopsis: Lorna, Pietro and Wanda discuss mutant affairs. Wanda and Lorna take a first step towards sibling bonding.
Cast of Characters: Scarlet Witch, Polaris, Quicksilver

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff met Lorna down at the door when she arrived. The Transian woman was warm enough, smiling and greeting Lorna before leading her upstairs to Wanda's room. Wanda's wearing a pair of slacks with a sky blue top that has see-through sleeves and shoulders. The color alone is a bit brighter than her normal choices in clothing, though the JVD logo on the top might suggest that somehow Janet has had a hand in getting Wanda into the brighter clothing today.

"I was out at the school recently, after I heard of Xavier's shooting. I am sorry that I missed you," Wanda tells Lorna. "I made a poultice for him that should greatly speed his recovery. How are the students there taking things?" she asks, speaking in a slow, measured pace as she usually does.

Polaris has posed:
For all the warmth that Wanda offered, Lorna had never been to the Avenger's Mansion. She had never 'visited' her sister there. The last time she had even seen her older half sister was months ago in Genosha. A brief, it's the holidays! And then the woman was gone. Lorna had never been close to Wanda, not even after finding out they were half siblings. She knew Pietro, worked with him from time to time and he often ran through to tease her before leaving just as abruptly as he'd come.

That distance was there, though Lorna attempted to smooth it over with a dry smile as she glanced around the place. "Hard. Technically I don't know if I'm supposed to be out and about without a guard or two, but hey. I'm here. I'm supposed to be trying to make inroads for the investigation with Trask." She offered finally, clearing her throat as she shoved her hands into her pockets.

The green haired woman had more or less dressed simply. A pair of fitted jeans and a lavender blouse, a multitude of cheap nickle jewelry covered her hands and wrists. All of which could be manipulated with a wave of her hands for quick use.

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda leads the way into her room. Except for the bathroom, all of the walls have been removed, leaving an open space with a kitchen, a living area by a fireplace, and then a bed over in one corner. There's a small classical guitar and a music stand over by the bed. Wanda stops in the kitchen, looking in the fridge and asking, "Would you like some iced tea? Or juice? Or water?" She turns to look over towards Lorna, smiling. "Or I could put some tea on."

Wanda will facilitate whatever Lorna's decision is, either supplying the beverage or starting the water heating. "If you like I can get you back to the gates of the school when you're ready to head back," Wanda offers. She moves over to the edge of the kitchen island that has the sink and some counter space, leaning against it. "If you're going to be around the area, I would like to spend more time together. If you're willing. I don't know that we've ever really spent the time together we should. And, I'm sorry for my part in that," Wanda says in a heartfelt tone.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna tilted her head about as she considered the open, sweeping room, her gaze settling on the musical instruments with open curiosity. She'd never known Wanda liked music, or played anything musical. How little did she actually //know// this woman? Not at all.. It would seem. Still, she made to settle on a stool at the kitchen island. "Uh, water is fine. Thanks." She mumbled, tapping her fingers against the counter top lightly as she glanced around.

It was decidedly the one that required the least amount of effort, Lorna figured. "And don't worry about the whole teleporting thing. I skip out on having an escort in Genosha too most days. Drives the guards up the wall, and I've gotten a talking to over it. But hey, at least if someone shoots at me, I can likely deflect it." Never mind if someone shot at her, they'd likely account for her powers.. But that wasn't something she was about to get into.

Lorna sheepishly wrapped her hands around the glass of water placed before her, and fidgeted awkwardly in her seat. "I dunno, about spending time here per say.. just uhm.. More of coordinating things with the Sentinels and intel.. I guess. The Professor asked me to head the investigation team. So, I guess, if you can fit sisterly bonding time in with a possible anti-mutant crusade going on.. sure."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda Maximoff filled two glasses with ice and water, keeping the second for herself as she leans against the counter near Lorna's stool. "We need to deal with the problems out there," Wanda says, her subtle Eastern European accent adding a softness to her words. "But we cannot let them win either, and distract us from things that should matter. Like family. Even if I haven't put the time into it that I should have? Well, this can be a reminder to me that I need to," Wanda says.

She takes a sip of her water and then says, "I have not taken as much direct involvement in the Sentinel situation in the past. Not much beyond tracking Janet and here rescue when she was taken. But I plan to be more involved going forward. How can I help with your investigation?"

Polaris has posed:
Lorna sipped at the glass of water for want of anything better to do with herself. She felt awkward, just sitting and talking with Wanda when there were worlds of things she had to do. The list seemed daunting and only got longer and more impossible with each passing day. And here Wanda was talking about taking time for family. It was stunning how far from Lorna's mind thoughts of family were these days. Unless it was their father, he always had a habit of coming to the forefront of her mind whenever he was mentioned.

"You've kind of been busy here with the Avengers and what not. I can hardly hold that against you for not being around much save the holidays." She shifted a little in her seat. For all her words spoke of not resenting the lack of her older sister's presence, she still felt it.

"I'm supposed to get in another talk with John Doe, but I'm not sure that's even possible now with everything going on. And I thought I had an idea to try to investigate Trask's finances, but that's more or less been ah.. side tracked for the moment."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda crosses her arms as she leans back against the counter. As Lorna says she can't hold Wanda's lack of familial participation against her, the older sister shakes her head in disagreement. "I hold it against myself. We didn't grow up together. Didn't even know about each for the longest time. But it is no excuse. And I mean to do better. I do not know if starting this late in life, we will ever be as close of sisters as we should have been. But I mean to try," Wanda says, and she'll reach over to take Lorna's hand for a moment and give it a squeeze if allowed, before releasing it.

Wanda pulls another stool over, sitting on it and drawing one foot up to rest on the stool, hugging the knee that is left bent by it. "We do need to come to a conclusion on what to do with Doe," she says. "Steve and Tony have taken the lead there. I will definitely support you in talking to him if you wish. I am worried he may be more problem than solution though, Doe. So other ways to deal with Trask? I think they are worth pursuing."

Quicksilver has posed:
The speeding blur that was Pietro Maximoff ZOOMED through the Avengers Mansion door and he comes to a quick stop in the living area. Looking around for a moment, Pietro hums a Transian tune, and he walks up the stairs until he finds Wanda's room. Knocking on the door in rapid succession.

BangBangBangBang!

"Sister dearest, you home?" because if she wasn't home, then Pietro clearly needed to kill her captor or join her on her wanderings.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna looked hesitant if anything, hopeful, but also cautious. It was everything the young woman had hoped for since she'd found out she was related to Magneto. That she might discover something beyond the weight of his relation. The twins had been something other though, and it was difficult to hang her hopes on them. She still didn't entirely understand the //how// of them, but accepted that they were.. still half siblings.

The hand was met without resistance, clammy from the cool condensation from the ice water. "I agree that he's a problem, one that if left unchecked might prove to be a greater threat than just the Sentinels we're already facing." She grimaced and pulled her hand back, tapping the sides of the glass with her fingernails.

"In dealing with Trask.. well.." That was when Pietro's knocking was heard throughout the room and she blinked, breaking off mid sentence.

"I can get the door if you want? Or are you in the habit of keeping him outside?"

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda seems in agreement. "Especially if he has the ability to upgrade them. Right now, it is just his programming. But his own technology is more advanced, even. Right now, perhaps the only thing saving us, has been his lack of memory of who he is," she says.

The knock comes and Wanda gets a playful smile at the mention of keeping Pietro outside. "Not since he learned to wipe his feet when he comes in," she jokes. Wanda's fingers move in deliberate fashion, red energy swirling about them which then appears about the doorknob, turning it and opening the door. "Come brother. Lorna has come for a visit. Serious matters mostly, though I'm injecting a bit of family where I may," she says, flashing a gentle smile back to Lorna on her last few words.

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro can still hear. "Lorna open this door right now or I will run you to the desert and leave you the-" Then the door opens and Pietro is there. "Oh, thank you." The instant calm quite comical considering the extremes that Pietro varieties between. But, he walks over to Wanda and kisses her temple in brotherly fashion before looking at Lorna. "Serious business? How serious?"

Pietro does not sit, instead, his eyes almost narrow at Lorna, though its one of familial concern rather than stand-offish.

Polaris has posed:
A cough masked the poor attempt of hiding a laugh at Wanda's comment regarding Pietro and the youngest of the trio's posture and expression warmed as Pietro's voice was heard through the door. She outright grinned as the white haired speedster stepped inside and more or less glowered at her from her spot at the kitchen island. "Well, lets see, the Professor was shot. Uhm, Sentinels are trying to kill us, maybe one from the future a-la Terminator. Father is enraged and wants revenge on the guy that tried to kill his 'old friend' and also might be ready for war. Oh and the Professor, put me in charge of a team to investigate all of this. And I have no idea what I'm doing?" She offered with hooking an eyebrow upward.

The ease in which she was both sarcastic and open with Pietro, where she wasn't with Wanda spoke volumes. She'd spent time with Pietro. She barely knew Wanda.

"But in terms of serious business. Wanda wants family time, have you told her who you're dating yet?"

Scarlet Witch has posed:
That Wanda is capable of being close with her siblings is evident as she reaches up, hand resting on Pietro's shoulder as he gives the kiss to her temple. Though she has a 29 year head start on her sibling-friendship with Pietro compared to that with Lorna, perhaps there is hope?

Wanda's lips set in a line as the scale of the events that are transpiring are mentioned. There's a moment something passes across her face. Something troubling her beyond the mere topic which is itself serious enough. But she seems to shake it off. Pietro might note Wanda is wearing one of the blouses from the fitting that Janet took them to. The sky blue color one one that she usually would choose.

"Wait, dating?" she asks, turning to look over towards Pietro. "All of this talks of suits and appearances, and track suits yesterday, and you didn't mention you are dating someone?" she asks, pulling her hands back from his shoulder to cross her arms in a stern display, but one that is only teasingly done.

Quicksilver has posed:
Pietro takes a moment. "I keep forgetting that Dad and Charlie boy are old friends. Weird, considering everything that has happened between them." But in other news, Pietro and Wanda share a beautiful and unique sibling relationship. Before Magneto, before the Brotherhood, before the Avengers, they had each other.

But in other news, Though Pietro briefly looked upset withLorna for bringing it up, He looks at Wanda after giving a stern look to Lorna. "I -was- dating a woman named Zatanna. We broke it off." Pietro shrugs. "Is what it is, but I am more than happy for family time." he remains standing.

Polaris has posed:
Lorna scoffed once at Pietro's words, "What, you tell me all about this woman and dating her and how you'd swear to tell Wanda about it.. And then you break it off with her before you even tell her?" She rolled her eyes and shook her head once. But at least it was a lighter topic still than the impending doom and gloom of Sentinels and possible mutant Genocide.

"I'm still sorry to hear it went south, Pietro." She offered with a more sympathetic tone. Even as she abandoned the glass of water to get up from her stool at the kitchen counter island. Her heeled sandals clicking lightly with the movement.

"And yeah, the Professor and father are old friends. You should have seen the way they bickered like an old married couple when we went to visit in the hospital." She barely with held a snicker. "It was awkward sitting between them."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda looks at Pietro with a critical eyes as he finally gets around to telling her. "Wait. Wait wait wait," she says, in a tone of semi-amused disbelief. "So not only do I not know that you're dating her, but I don't even find out until after you're broken up?" she asks. Wanda looks over towards Lorna and holds her hands as if to say, can you believe this?

It might feel like a bit of a warm sibling moment. And it's not just between the twins. Lorna is definitely a part of it with the way Wanda smiles and looks to her for support. Wanda flashes Lorna a sisterly look for her role in making Pietro uncomfortable. Poor guy, he's outnumbered now.

"I have not seen them together very much," Wanda admits of Charles and their father. Back in those days that Wanda was in Genosha, they were mostly open adversaries. "It is good though, that they can work together. As should we. So, Lorna. What can Pietro and I do to help. Charles has asked if I can do anything to help protect the school, and I have something in mind though it will take some time and effort. But what else can we help with?"

Quicksilver has posed:
outnumbered and in more ways than one, overpowered, by the sisterly affection. "I didn't know about her alright?!" He takes a breath before he explains. "I wanted to be sure you would like her Wanda." Because between Wanda and Lorna, Lorna is Nice about it, Wanda would be critical, and Dad would be impossible.

Pietro does sit now, his face on his palms. "We only broke up because she's in show business and well...we just couldn't make the time." He looks at his sisters.

"I'm sorry I didn't say anything." he tells Wanda. He told Lorna about Zatanna. "If Charles need help, Then we help. He has done much for us already, even if none of us deserved it."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna glanced at Wanda briefly and shared the look. Though her teasing expression turned toward concern as Pietro settled down and sat, his head in his hands. She pursed her lips and came over to settle a hand on one of Pietro's shoulders if allowed. "I'm sorry, Pietro. It could be worse? At least you both acknowledged what wasn't working like adults." It was more than she could say the last few times she'd made to go on dates. Those had ended much like her high school ones. In tears and with shouts and cold shoulders.

The green haired, youngest, of the trio looked to Wanda as the other woman offered to help protect the school. "I think whatever you can do, is worth doing. Particularly if you think it will protect the students from head hunters or whatever comes looking. I'm worried.. About Genosha and father's temper. He won't stay inactive for long. You know how he is. Right now, he's agreed to work with the X-men.. but it could be anything that sets him off."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
Wanda slips off her stool and moves over to Pietro along with Lorna. She slips her arms about their brother to give him a gentle hug. "I just wish it had worked out for you," she tells him in her softly accented English. Wanda pats gently before letting go, but keeping a hand there on their brother.

"I think a planning session, between the X-men and Avengers, might be a good idea," Wanda suggests. "To decide what to do with Doe. And also decide how to go about opposing Trask. We're reacting too much. I would like to include father, but frankly I think it might be better to start without him, and then try to bring him in later. I worry there may be differences over Doe, even without his opinions included."

Quicksilver has posed:
Not everything works out, though Pietro has horrible luck with women. He wraps his arms around Wanda and Lorna, hugging his sisters as they try to comfort him. But, as they talk, Pietro gets out of the doom and gloom sadness and he looks st them both.

"Life goes on." As to the planning, Pietro nods. "Planning would be a good idea...and if Dad gets up in arms, well...I've been meaning totally with him for a long time." which is Pietro-speak that translates to 'He'll punch him.' "But as for Doe...I imagine there's parts of that story I don't know."

Polaris has posed:
Lorna let Pietro embrace her, and she returned the affection where she could. As he let go and nodded, though, she settled down to sit once more this time beside him. "There are too many working parts and I worry that people are redoubling things that would be better off if we actually shared. Father was speaking of making a symbolic gesture, speaking with Captain America and trying convince people that way. It was odd, for once, that he was being so careful. Of course, the Professor being shot threw all of that out the window." She muttered, and grimaced.

"But yes, I think we need to get everyone in a room. Though that might be tricky given how slippery everything is." She glanced back to Wanda and then Pietro.

"I'm trying to stay on top of what people know, but every day another few hundred problems seem to crop up."

Scarlet Witch has posed:
"Getting information shared... actually while it's probably not too bad, I imagine it could be improved. But really we need to decide on some courses of action. I heard a little of what you were doing Lorna, when I visited Genosha and looked at some of the reports," Wanda says. Wait, when did that happen?

"Though I'm not sure where things stand with it all. But it sounded like you were enlisting help from other corporations? I think that is an excellent approach," Wanda says, the Transian woman letting her voice carry that she was impressed by the tack Lorna was taking.

Quicksilver has posed:
"Hard, but not impossible." Pietro crosses his arms and he looks at his sisters. Though he settles on Wanda. "You went to Genosha and did not tell me?" Doesn't matter that she's the princess, Magneto is not the most stable person in the world.

But...

Pietro looks at Lorna. "Well if you need help, let me know. Sometimes all that weight on one person no good." His accent peeking through. "Besides, we are family and we help one another. I can talk to Steve and Tony to see what we can do to get them in a meeting."
